This was once a beautiful piece of land in the City of Salem/Rke. Co. There was a beautiful clubhouse w/ a nice pool & land for the kids to play... It was a club for families to join & enjoy throughout the year especially in the Summer months. The clubhouse burned down yrs. ago & all that was left was the massive stone fireplace & chimney from the club itself & an empty pool. We discovered it in the early 80s & use to come up here to enjoy the land. At some point a house, Graceys & the surrounding lot which backed up to The Penguin Club property also burned down. The home had all the reminisce of a family still living in it... This was around 84 & The Penguin Club had already burned down. It use to be so beautiful up here, full of deer & the occasional fox, quiet & serene to be so close to I81... If you go up there now youd never know that the land had been ravaged by two fires & was once such a peaceful place... Its now filled with homes side by side & Graceys is all but a memory....
