Went in to get an original bagel! I got It thank you! The inside ofvthe bagel was soft and delicious, it just melted in my mouth with everything delicious bite! The outside of the bagel had the right crisp!!! Went very well with the cream cheese, Although it wouldnt hurt a tiny bit more!!!! One of the best bagels I have had! Thanks again! The crew was very nice as well! Great environment!!! they also have outside sitting for covid-19 precautions!!!Recommend this restaurant! Fulfilling feeling! Satisfaction guaranteed!!!!
This restaurant is my first choice restaurant. Of all restaurants I know I favor it most. I never miss an opportunity to go to visit this place. everytime I want to go to a delicious supper, this is the place that comes instantly to my mind. best and all sorts of food and a rich menu.professional crew, and pleasant atmosphere. Also, the charge is reasonable. I sent my friends to this spot with no hesitation.
It has been a while since our last visit and to our surprise they are open today! They have added quite a few new dishes and desserts to their menu. However, couple dishes I can only get them on the weekends brunch. Oh well, that means I have to make a return appearance!I ordered the all day breakfast bagel and it was wonderful at 3pm and my husband ordered a Reuben sandwich stuffed with a generous helping of corned beef. For dessert, we ordered a cookie and a peach pastry...delicious! Our server, he was very polite and helpful and knowledgeable about their new menu. We are blessed that we always have a wonderful dinning experience there. The draw back, is kind of hard to find parking on the street however there are a few public parking structures within a few blocks or one can take the tram/train.
I go with my wife to this great spot a lot! This is my favorite restaurant to pass a nice evening. I visit this place at least once a month. The food is fantastic, the crew is professional and the prices are good. I like going in this spot for a rich meal.
I had the lox bagel. Bagel was small, dense and overly chewy, but making bagels is an art and I wasnt too surprised as itll take awhile before they learn the craft. More tomato than lox, and overall a very small lox bagel, so definitely disappointed to pay $15 (with tip) for it. Lets just say its hard to replicate or even imitate a cuisine, and their attempt at being a delicatessen is a great example of this difficulty.
Food was excellent. Service not bad, considering Covid restrictions. A bit noisy outside due to proximity to light rail. Ill visit again.
Awesome Jewish Deli! Everything is really delicious. I love that they have vegan options too. I had the vegan portobello mushroom sandwich and it was very messy but tasty. They also even have vegan cream cheese for the bagels. Also tried the matzo ball soup and potato latkies. Everything was very fresh and had great flavor. I highly recommend this new restaurant in town! The breakfast looks delicious too and cant wait to try it. The upstairs dining area is quieter when it gets busy.
The shakshuka was tasty. I loved the artsy vibe. but a little overpriced for what you get. Location is too loud. Light rail drives by every 5 minutes, making talking over the noise a challenge.
Seems pricey but I enjoyed what I had. I ordered a sandwich to-go & chose one listed on the alternative menu called Love In The Club - roasted turkey, pastrami bacon, tomato, mayo and lettuce on toasted sourdough. I made my decision thinking it had turkey, pastrami AND bacon because of the way the sign description was printed (I couldnt see there was no comma - see photo) Now I realize it was pastrami bacon! Oh well... next time Ill have to try The Stanley since I love pastrami.
Granted they were pretty new but no one knew what they were doing, the soup was far too salty and both the pastrami and corned beef were indistinguishable.2 stars for their vegan/gluten free effort though.Unfortunately the sandwich was just okay but even though I specifically told me server that I was vegan, she offered me a side of potato salad so I accepted being that I had just told her my dietary restrictions. It wasnt. The only reason we went was because my cousins really wanted to try this place out but theyre werent able to leave their office,so while we were in town we figured wed kill 2 birds with one stone, have dinner and bring them a surprise. Before finishing my food I walked into the counter and waited. And waited. And waited.Mind you, they were over staffed so you can see the employees trying to look busy by carrying something to one place then picking it up and carrying it somewhere else. There 3 people minimum that walked by me.I finally ordered. For 4 sandwiches, a bowl of soup, a salad and 2 sodas it was over $100.
Solomon’s is a fun space, and they have neatly pivoted to socially distanced outdoor dining on their very pretty patio, under a beautifully restored mural. I ate brunch with my girlfriend and we would highly recommend the Chocolate Babka French toast, which was a luxurious sweet treat. We also ordered the Shakshuka, an incredibly flavorful dish of eggs poached in a Mediterranean stew of eggplant, tomatoes, and peppers. Service was impeccable, cocktails were delicious, and all was handled safely. Sacramento should be proud to host such a lovely spot!
Very great service, clean place and staff also good.
This place is the Kn-ish! Egg salad sandwich was beautiful and delicious. The mustard gives a nice twang. Potato and onion knish also tasty. Love the preservation of the soul of the old record store that once was here. Fantastic pics on the walls upstairs. Super clean all gender restroom. Slow elevator ride gives you time to peruse the vintage magazine covers all over the walls. My only complaint would be the seats on the side of the bar need to be taller. They are comfy, cool vintage chairs but too short for the bar.
New York style Deli inside it is not. Food is pretty close. I had the corned beef. Im a huge Brents fan which is in LA. The meat in my sandwich was perfect, rye bread fell apart which was disappointing. My wife and son shared a pastrami, again the meat was perfect but the bread fell apart. The Cole slaw was great. Pickle was on point too. All in all it was good with the exception of the atmosphere.... Not what Id expect from a deli. Didnt like that part at all.
Got my bagel order wrong, which was a little annoying because these bagels are more expensive and a little smaller than the average half dozen. Though, they do taste fresher than the average dozen. Good cream cheese too!
Really good coffee and bagel, but was pretty disappointed with bagel size given the price.
I had the Reuben sandwich and it was a 10 out of 10.. My son had the smoked chicken sandwich and it was also, remarkable.Landon was a fabulous waiter and Jamie, one of the owners, was an absolute delight!
Im a regular here, the staff is extremely friendly and the menu is simple and delicious!
Very nice place! Excellent interior, many delicious dishes, good service, reasonable prices.
Excellent atmosphere and very affable service. The menu was fresh and enchanting. Will absolutely recommend this restaurant to anyone. Reasonable prices and big portions. Keep up the great work.
This was my favorite spot before Covid! However, its been disappointing since reopening. Pastrami hash is not what it use to be. No big deal, I get that things change so I go to my second favorite meal from here, the Stanley, and it was good tasting overall, but had more fat than pastrami. Pastrami use to be cut thin and had little fat. Now they cut it think and leave the fat on. Makes it difficult to eat as well. I tried the Stanley twice to see if it was a one off, but both times had ALOT of fat. Still a great spot for drinks and great atmosphere but I always came here for the food and its not the same. Make the pastrami hash like it use to be made and I will be back every weekend.
I don’t know how I walked past Solomon’s as I looked for it as the facade is distinctive and fun. It is on same block as ROSA d’lima Park which is also the outdoor ice rink in winter. I bought a classic hot dog—the Kenny dog. The dog was great! The bun disintegrated. The wait staff asked about it and explained it wasn’t the usual bun and offered some complimentary cookies. My friend had the Cobb salad and ate every bit. I will definitely go again. I got some bagels to go and they smell amazing.
Having lived in New York and loved the delis I was exited to have one here. Pfffft, this is certainly nothing of what I know a deli to be and found it is a sad California yuppie version. Its just a seriously overpriced sandwich shop and not one I would care to go broke trying. As a Californian by birth Im sad to see this thing representing my state... oh suffer the embarrassment... a deli, yeah right
I got a mushroom sandwich and a barley soup from there. The soup was not bad, but very little, half of the already small container they give it in. But the sandwich was the worst. Nothing but mushrooms, onion, and mayo boiled together. They put so much mayo while frying, that the mushrooms and onion were just boiled in it. What is more important that I paid over $15 for that meal.
I had a great fried chicken sandwich (the name eludes me) and the way they breaded and cooked the chicken made it super good.
Ive been hoping that a Canters or Jerrys Famous Deli equivalent would open up in Sac for years. Once I heard about Solomons, a Jewish style deli I was intrigued. I had a Ruben and it was very good but not up to those famous Jewish deli staples. Thats not a bad thing, I liked the thicker cut of Solomons corned beef and the bagel chips. I was disappointed that the pickle platter was $4, wish there was a deal with a meal. Little pricy but I saw a bunch of employees working hard. They told me take out would be 30 mins wich seemed odd based on the traffic at the time, ended up being about 15 mins so that worked out well. Definitely will be back again. Pro tip, check out upstairs!
Interesting and yummy breakfasts in a cool space with fun decor. They use a smoker to make some ingredients more interesting. The smoked-pastrami hash was great.
I had the Russ and it was tiny for the price. Tasty but tiny
Nice, cozy atmosphere, delicious food for an adequate price, fast service.
We hadnt been on K St. for some time when we stumbled into Solomons Delicatessen. Our lunch was delicious and my Reuben was amazing! We will be back soon and cant to try the rest of the menu. Love they kept the vibe of the old Tower Record and the music was very nostalgic.
Highly recommend the Rubin sandwich. Very tasty!!
The music venue upstairs, The Russ Room was wonderful. The food was good. Looking forward to going in the summer and being able to sit outside and hearing the music from The Russ Room while enjoying our lovely summer evenings.
Great place to eat food when in a rush. Their customer service is fast, prices are affordable, excellent character. I highly recommend this place
Tell them you want the Stanley and make it a Reuben. What a great sandwich! Potato salad on the side! Now this is living! Warren Zevon would have loved this place! David Letterman will eat here if he ever comes to Sacramento! I guarantee it!
It is unfortunate that other aspects went poorly because the food was fairly good. I went for restaurant week seeing that they had a fairly good deal: a bottle of wine, pastrami rolls, salad, soup, a sandwich, and cookies. Various elements ended up being shared between multiple people, which was isnt a huge ding, but not what was advertised. Unfortunately there was an event upstairs which meant that the door was left open in 45 degree weather with a considerable draft at the bar. The manager kept re-opening the door after we complained and closed it ourselves, and another employee closed it. Service was incredibly slow which wasnt any fault of the bartender who was kind but overworked. Some of our food arrived cold, and the salad initially wasnt dressed. The multi course meal also arrived all at once, not as advertised. Once again its a shame that other elements werent great because the food was quite good, a nice hearty pastrami, good soup, and a tasty fried roll, and good cookies. If the rest of the experience had been better I would return, but as it stands I will not.
Went there for a lunch on Friday. Staff was nice and food came out fast. I got the pastrami sandwich. Wish the bread was toasted on the outside cause it gets a big soggy from the juices of the pastrami. Bagel chips are pretty good, but some type of sauce would be nice with them. Maybe some type of jam. Lastly, its a pretty expensive meal.
Great music, Great DJ, Great Food...Super Great Staff!!
I stop here with my 8 year old before the Clippers vs Kings game on Dec/31/2019. The place is amazing, the staff is awesome, the food is very good and you can tell it was prepare with a passion. I would definitely comeback here and I would highly recommend it.P.S. We came from the Bay Area
Love Solomon’s Deli in Davis and in Sacramento. Great quality pastrami, corned beef, lox and bagels. Just like the Jewish delis where so many of us grew up. There’s healthier options too. Breakfast was fabulous this past weekend. Both locations are perfect for walking around after a great meal.
What an awesome eatery! They have the best sandwiches that are served with coleslaw and bagel chips. They also offer $5 beers during Kings games, just show them your ticket.
I had the corned beef sandwich. It was delicious and fast. The staff was friendly despite seeming busy. Id come back a couple times week.. If I could afford it. $22 with tip for lunch is way outta my league. Too bad! It was really good.Update: I came here with a couple of friends. They were wearing their construction vests and received an awesome discount for being in uniform. I asked a week later if they had a military discount. The cashier seemed surprised Id asked, but reluctantly gave me a neighborhood discount. Came back a few weeks later, stayed in my construction attire and received no discount. My friend asked and the cashier said theyd never heard of it. I dont expect a discount... But at least be consistent. Still tasty. But probably wont return.Update 2: Came again, for variety. I paid $18 for a tiny sandwich, a little bowl of old looking and tasting coleslaw and a diet Coke. Why did I come again? No idea..And... A response thats condescending! Wow. This $18 bite(literally) was the recommended fried Chicken sandwich. And it was nothing to write home about. Oh well, theres plenty of other options downtown!
Meal was great and staff very friendly. I could not decide what to order so I took a recommendation from staff. I was very satisfied.
Food is good, but can’t believe it’s Monday morning and there are no Lava Salt bagels... how is that possible. Hate that you can’t rely on finding your favorite foods. Never this problem at Saul’s in Berkeley...
Best pastrami sandwich. Simple: house smoked meat and mustard on rye bread. Best way to enjoy the pastrami. Many other sandwiches to choose from. Fun decore, beautiful restored mural at front entry. Full bar, too!
Had my thirtieth birthday party here and was told I wasn’t going to be charged corkage and cake cutting fee, but of course I was! I also brought my own wine and champagne to the event, but they disregarded that and were serving their own and charging me more. The party ended up costing me over $5000 due to these charges that were never refunded and we couldnt even have music played when a live DJ had already been hired for the event. Never even got a response from management. This place is overpriced and poorly run!
This place knows how to serve their customers. Consistently with a very nice mindset. The food is affordably priced, regularly flavorful and clean.
It is sooooooooooo good. Get a bagel and lox. Delicious.
Food was good, however, the amount of pastrami ratio to potatoes was rather low for the $15.99 price tag. Egg was slightly overcooked. I will cone again and try their sandwiches.
A Jewish deli in the old Tower Records building on K St. They serve breakfast all day. I had the matzo ball soup with rye toast. It was great and so was the service.
The meals and service were above my expectations. We surely liked the atmosphere of this restaurant. Wonderful place to take the family out for lunch.
Food was delicious. Had a big roast beef sandwich with a mild horseradish dressing on rye. Their bagels are close to east coast style, dense and chewy. Bagels are a bit too big though. Only downside is they somewhat pricey, but it is definitely worth a special treat. Their drink list looks fun (e. g., Bloody Miriam) but I rarely drink at lunch so just had iced tea.
Good ffg ood
Deli favorite, Pastrami on rye, was a bit of a disappointment especially for the price. Pastrami was not a home run, meager amount was tasteless. Interesting colorful clean facilities with a full bar which I will have to try when I give this place a second chance sometime in the future.
The staff was super awesome and the burger was one of the best Ive had in Sacramento. Cant recommend the fried pickles more. Cant recommend more, plus the bagels are great.
I cant get over how great the place looks. A lot of effort and creativity was put into remodeling this place and I love the vibe. It feels like a place I could hang out at just to admire.I loved the Russ sandwich(with lox!) and we ordered a generous side serving of fresh sauerkraut. We also ordered a few other bagels and cream cheese which hit the spot! The staff was friendly and helpful. I went during their opening week and I cant wait to come back to try more things*please note, there are several reviews on here written BEFORE they even opened. Please ignore!*
Quality deli spot. Good service. Extra thumbs up for not allowing vicious koala bears inside with the customers.
The aesthetic of this place is spot on. We ordered some pastrami fries and were slightly disappointed at first because they were dry and there weren’t many toppings, but when we requested some thousand island dressing and extra sauerkraut for the top they were freaking unstoppable. The pastrami was authentic deli pastrami and the service was very nice.
A bit pricey but they do have dill pickle smear! And that was really good!
Making their oun bagles now! So fresh, 9-10am is bagley hour. Right out of the oven. The sandwiches are a little pricey but very good. If your looking for a little something, try the knishes. Very lite flakey crust . Get it heated up. 2/5$. Something w/ pickles? They got it
1st Fri of month 8 to midnite DJ Larry Dance Party! Plus great snacks and Eats and Full bar.
Third time here in 2 weeks. The smoked meat and fish are all top notch. The pastrami sandwich is STACKED up. One of these could easily feed two people.
The staff is so friendly and welcoming that i t feels like youve been there before even if you havent been. Top notch bar & food, great events and welcoming atmosphere.
This place is worth a visit. They have big portions for fair rates. Regularly well organized and with great ambience. I highly recommend this place.
I have been anxiously awaiting the opening of Solomons Delicatessen and my high expectations were met! The building is great -- particularly the mural and the Tower Records decor -- and the service and food were top notch! I ordered the Reuben with bagel chips and cole slaw (I asked for spicy mustard on the side!) and it was delicious. Yes, its pricey, but worth it!
Very friendly customer service and the food is on point and high quality. Would recommend stopping by anytime youre in the area.
Tried this place out on a whim walking down K street and so glad I did! My friend and I couldnt decide on our options so we split the salmon salad and horseradish Ruben. Both of which were absolutely delightful. While waiting for our food we saw their cocktail menu and decided to try the Bloody Mariam, and pickle-tini. The bloody was by far one of the best in Sacramento. Its not over the top with too much ingredients but more than just vodka and tomato juice. The pickle-tini was a perfect pairing with the salad and sandwich. It was like an extra dirty martini but a little bit more salty. The wait staff here is SUPER friendly. The atmosphere is bright, vibrant, and fun. I cant wait to come back here again.
Literally just got back from New York. Theyve closed pretty much all the famous Delis so was nice to be walking down K street See that Solomons was open stepped in for some great food
Quality food, great variety, good atmosphere and fair prices. I am a regular for the sesame bagel with lox schmear. The décor here is awesome. When I get my dream home, I want a beautiful long walnut bench just like one featured as you walk in! This will be the go to place for outdoor dining along the newly developed DOCO. I remember shopping for records (you know, those black discs that spin) here when this was a Tower Records location. No bagels, no life is their mantra. I cant disagree to that!
This place has a fantastic vibe, with good service and great food. Its nice to have Jewish deli food here in Sacramento, a category that is severely lacking in the metro-area. The remodel is absolutely stunning, and no corners were cut. The mural restoration is remarkable, and warrants a visit on its own. While not kosher, they offer many vegetarian options, and the menu has something for everyone. The Russ sandwich is great with high-quality lox, capers and picked onions. Will definitely be going back to try more menu items!
The food was delish! Their bagels puts Noahs to shame. The service was great and I love having a taste of home here in Sacramento!
They establishment is nice. They put a lot of effort and money into it. The prices are a bit high but you do get a lot of food. The pastrami sandwich was ok. I felt the pastrami itself was mostly broken piece, not sliced. The bread the sandwich was served on was just average. I think they smoke the pastrami because the smoke flavor is overpowering. The bagel was brought out not toasted as requested and the fries were flavorful but flaccid. The best food that was ordered was the knish, but it took two trips back to the counter to get it. The staff was friendly. I feel a lot of issues are yet to be worked out as it only recently opened. I’ll try back in a little bit.
Simply amazing food. A great staff and the location is culturally vibrant!
You need to be consistent. Sacramento may not have a clue, but Im from the East coast and eat in L A delis too. Dont skip on quality, since you are charging over 50percent more. You will lose my business. Just to let you know my first experience was great
Great food, verrry nice servers and funky but clean atmosphere. One of the best chicken salad sandwiches Ive ever had.
I was excited to go to the new location of Solomons Deli (on K Street in Sacramento) over the Fourth of July weekend and found it impressive. It is bright, cheery and was busy, even though it was early Sunday morning. The bagel I got was crunchy on the outside and chewy in the middle and the cream cheese was fresh and tangy. Will definitely be going back and am already looking forward to it.
Amazing food, little pricey but youre next to the stadium so its expected, would definitely come back.
They are very dog friendly with their outdoor seating.I had the challah french toast with applesauce and syrup. It was very good, but a little pricey for just two slices. I think they should add a third slice...any way it was delicious!
Came here for a bagel before a race. Had a bagel with cream cheese and avocado. It was delish!! Thr service was excellent!!This place has an awesome vibe! The floor, walls murals, etc. I love it.Right there on the corner of K and 8th street.Rigt near my job!! So I will be here regularly for sure!!
The best Reuben! Huge portions of meat with just the right amount of Sauerkraut, dressing, etc. The rye bread was perfect. You would have to drive to Maxs Opera Cafe in SF to get a Reuben this good.
Good food, drinks and wonderful Roger DJ. The perfect combination for the brunch.
I just like their dishes. I always get fantastic service here. The place is clean and the workers are always friendly. Will come back again.
Why is it so hard to find a good bagel spot in Sac?So Solomons is beautiful inside and the staff is great but the last time we took a half dozen bagel to-go they were all RAW inside. The time before that the bagels only lasted a few houes before they were stale. The crossiants were stale as well. Very disappointing.Im giving it an extra star because one time my husband ordered the pastrami hash and he said that was delicious. But come on guys, get your bagel game straight or take the bagel out of your slogan. 2/2 times for us the bagels were bad.
Outstanding food. Excellent service.Theyre also latex free!
Great Atmosphere, Great Food, and Great Drinks. Logan the bartender is an amazing and attentive person. Highly recommend this place.
Agree with the concern regarding bagels. Too heavy. At least they boil them & using more traditional baking methods and arent cake-like. Ive complained to Grateful Bread (Solomons bagel bakers) directly about their bagels. Love Grateful Bread and go there at least once a week for bread & rolls, but their bagels need improvement. Also, they need to add egg bagels. Even though I live around the corner from them I schlep to Natomas and Bagel Cafe for better bagels.Thrilled Solomons has blintzes! Hopefully they have black & white & sprinkle cookies too!
GREAT VARIETY DELI SELECTIONS MY FAVORITE LOX AND BAGLES (LARGE PORTIONS) BETTER BE HUNGRY. DRAWACKS BIT PRICY AND DURING PEAK TIMES TAKES 15-20 MINUTES TO GET MEALS.
Had a great lunch. Staff was friendly. Service solid. Big fan of their bagels.
My husband and I ordered the Reuben sandwich. Food is fine, prices are a bit high. Main issue is the parking since is located in downtown.
Fried Pastrami egg potatoes breakfast, with special spicy garlic sauce.
It’s about $18 for a sandwich after tax with no drink which is ridiculous. The sandwich was fine but the price is highway robbery. It didn’t help matters that one of my pieces of bread was a butt end of the bread smaller than the other piece. I did point this out to the staff and she apologized and she offered a new piece of bread but I was already eating the sandwich at that point.
This place simply knows how to please their customers. Regularly with a super nice mindset. The food is conveniently priced, constantly flavorful and neat.
I will give four stars for the bagel with shmear and lox that I ordered this morning. The lox was top-grade, really good tangy and thick plain cream cheese. The everything bagel was slightly dry, not as chewy as hoped. Will have to go back and try sandwich offerings later, but the prices are insane!
I had very high hopes and high expectations for Solomons Delicatessen. Three of us came for lunch on a Monday and the place was surprisingly busy (the Monday before Christmas). We placed our order and took a seat.I ordered the chicken salad with pickled vegetables on the side. My fiancé ordered their version of a Reuben (it had a different name) with potato salad. And my brother ordered some form of roast beef with potato salad. The chicken salad was ok - a little heavy-handed on the mayonnaise in my opinion. My fiancé liked the Reuben but wished the bread was toasted. And same for my brothers sandwich.Nothing really blew us away; it was an average sandwich experience. And bummer about the free bagel with Yelp check-in: we got it to-go, and it was stale by the next morning (when I planned to eat it).
Best location in sac
