Multicultural cast portraying significant dramatic works by artists of color. Willingness to tackle tough subjects like Toni Morrisons Bluest Eye that serve as basis for needed conversations and healing between all people. Young cast tonight, needs a little smoothing out of rough edges, but excellent potential, lot of passion and several powerful performances shone through. Look forward to seeing more of what they may offer in the future and hope they get wider recognition and support to reach their greatest potential.
Wonderful place for Live Performing Acts. History in the making. Looking forward to their continued success. A place for learning and volunteering by using your gifts and talents.
This is a great, intimate venue that has a family feel. The comedy show was great and the audience was acknowledged often and able to interact with the comedians after the show. Awesome spot!
A Soldiers Play was fabulous with 12 member cast who did an outstanding job. Utilizing a simple set in a small stage to the max entry/exit points & multiple positions & scene scenarios, they really moved the story along & brought it to life depicting the era & times of the 40s. Plus Ive seen the movie version, A Soldiers Story. So Im familiar with the plot. Do go & see this; its worth the visit to their Sacramento, CA location.
Black Nativity is an amazing, uplifting, powerful & fun gospel play that is a must-see for everyone! You wont leave disappointed - if anything, youll leave blessed & spiritually refreshed! The singing & acting was truly from their hearts - they love what they do & you will too!(To the cast, crew, pianist & Mr Wheatley -- you did a fantastic job!! )
I love to see the plays here. They are thoughtful, edgy and sure to educate. The facility is nice and the people are really folksy. It is a great place to go for a date or to take your kids. I wish there more community theaters like this. Be sure to eat before you come, sometimes the plays can run upwards of three hours long. They only have soda, water, and candy for sell in the lobby.
Its a small intimate theater. Productions are always well cast and staged.
Appreciate ALL the talent that showcases a mixture of folks..Well done James and the board..lets keep the arts alive!
They showcase amazing local talent in an intimate setting. I try not to miss a chance to go and experience the ambience of Celebration Arts. Every volunteer that works there treats you like family and remembers you when you come back.
This small theater staged one of the best performance Ive seen in a long while. Abolition by Rick Foster is an intense historical drama about the pre civil war friendship between Frederick Douglas and John Brown.
I came to the open house so much fun!! enjoyed the tour of the theater and came back, with my husband to see Raisin in the Sun on opening night. I love this theater its up close and personable. The performance was beautifully done.
A wonderful place to spend an afternoon. Great stories nice folks working there. By all means go visit.
Great performance.....better yet OUTSTANDING
Great venue for live theatrical performances.
I went here to see Raisin in the Sun a couple of weeks ago, and it was a wonderful experience! Celebration Arts took over the former location for B Street Theater and is busy putting their own stamp on the place. The ambiance was warm and welcoming, seats were fairly comfortable. The production was stellar, especially the 2 leads All they need is to figure out where their snack bar should be, because theater patrons always need coffee, Brandy, and chocolate!
Great play The Whipping Man . I expect more great plays to come
Nice intement place
A friend and I went to see a performance of A Raisin In The Sun at their new location @ 29th and B Streets. I went to several performances at their old location, but I really like the new venue. Nicer building, interior, and the theatre is twice as big. I will continue to support them.
I have seen many plays at Celebration Arts and I have never been disappointed.
Excellent plays and actors in an intimate theater experience. Get on their mailing list. You wont regret it.
Fantastic performance today! Go support your local artists!!
Great enjoy the entertainment recommend to all
We enjoyed the play. The acting was great.
Excellent show that I thoroughly enjoyed.
Still a small intimate venue, but thats what makes it special! Good local talent!
Tucked away in East Sac, a great jewel is nested away. Great plays and great production however limited seating so highly encouraged to arrive early. Staff was very friendly.
I have been to this Theatre multiple times and they always have thought provoking plays.
As always, it was an outstanding performance. The atmosphere and the acting was superb.
Great small venue community playhouse.
Great place to watch a play
One of the oldest theatre companies in Sacramento it boasts the only African American performers who host productions by minority playwrights.
