This place is on the small side but has a good selection of live corals. They also have lots of freshwater plants and fish, and a wide variety of foods and filters. The staff are nice enough and dont hound you while you browse, which equals 5 stars in my book!

We give splash aquarium a five star rating we needed a salt water fish tank for our lobby of Cruz Collision. They took care of us and helped us with every step of the way. I’m very satisfied with this company! The Tank still in the cycling process our goal is a reef tank!

I love going to this store. They always have clean tanks, I havent gotten any bacteria from them in any of my tanks. Super helpful and always easy to shop with. Also a decent selection of fish, beautiful but cheap decorations, and a wide selection of equipment

A lot of staff, but not a lot of services when it gets busy. Too much side taking with other staff, need to focus more and have better customer support and service. Had to wait a while to get some plants.

I walked around their store for about 20 minutes. No one greeted me, no eye contact, no one asked if I needed any help or if I have any questions. Their freshwater fish selection is not so good. I didnt look at their saltwater fish selection so I dont know about that. Oh well, I guess I will have to buy my fish stuff online or check with other sellers who want to sell.

My rating is mostly based on the Interesting selection of freshwater fish here, including some Ive never seen before. The freshwater side of the store was very crowded with shoppers. There was also a line of five people at the desk needing to pay for stuff so I put the stuff back that Id wanted to purchase. There seemed to be plenty of staff - many were just clustered at the desk talking to each other. The 1-2 staff getting fish for people were working hard to try to keep up.

Very small selection but its still a great place to go to. It had lively fish, and amazing aquascapes. They had a few plants and a few corals though. My favorite thing about the place was the betta sorority they had. It was a bunch of female elephant ear bettas in a beautiful tank. They also had many supplies and tanks. I bough filter media the last time I went and staff are really helpful and nice. Not 5 stars because of small selection. Although I do recommend you come visit. I really liked the goldfish they had. I saw red capped orandas, black moors, and my favorite, ping pong goldfish. They are all adorable. Recommend this place.

The staff is awesome and although theyre a 3 hour drive from me, theyre the closest aquarium retailer to me that is a SeaChem distributor. I will make the drive when needed thanks to the great staff and the wonderful selection of fresh and saltwater fish and supplies!

I love splash!! They always have the best selection, even if it isnt as extensive as others. Every fish is high quality and often rare and beautiful fish are available yet always at reasonable prices. They also have live tubifex worms and adult brine shrimp which your fish will love, along with tons of frozen food.Also, they have the most gorgeous aquajapan rimless aquariums for great prices!! My first time at this store; I was impressed. They have a lot of tanks both fresh and salt water. The selection of fish is excellent. The store is neat and organized well. Every tank was clean with healthy fish. No dead or sick looking fish anywhere in their many tanks. I purchased some shubunkins and they are just vigorous and healthy. The baby Koi looked great too. On top of all that the personnel were very pleasant and helpful. It was fun to visit and i am sure that I will return.

Everyone was so nice and although they didnt have the Goldfish that I wanted for sale because they were quarantined. I was told to come back in a week. All the fish looked very healthy too. Great prices. A year later I Bought this handsome Angel fish and now I have babies.

Love this place..... lots of fish(salt and fresh water)... wonderful service. Answered a lot of my questions, gave me ideas to make the fish feel more comfortable. They even took a Chinese algae eater that was terrorizing my tank.Plus gave store credit, and the fish dont seem overly priced compared to other aquariums.

Amazing selection of accessories and some of the healthiest fish I have laid eyes on. I can’t believe it has taken me so long to visit this store. The advice from the workers is spot on and was not simply an up sell. He listened to my questions and spoke about his own experiences. They have definitely earned my respect and my business.

Went in for shrimp, got some great advice and walked out with 4 bamboo shrimp. 1 molted in the first 2 days and all 4 took to my tank like they lived there forever. I will continue to make the trek from Carmichael, great staff, fantastic selection.

Awesome store with super friendly and knowledgeable staff. Lots of supplies for planted tanks and healthy livestock. I havent seen any dead fish the 3 times Ive gone in over the last month. The lost star is because they keep their bettas in tiny cups (although the bettas are generally in better health than other stores that do the same thing).

Before I came to this location, I had several fish for weeks before coming here. Shortly after I bought a couple of fish from this location, I had fish die left and right. And the ones that died 1st were the ones from this location.Turned out the fish had ICH.The workers were great. But the fish were BAD!I guess that is why they had a guarantee on fish for 7 days after purchase with receipt. Ha what a joke.Be warned!!! I lost my precious and most favorite fish because of this location. I will N E V E R go back! Never ever again. Lesson learned.If you want good fish. Go to Exotic Aquarium few minutes up the street. Never had any problems from the fish there.

We had some semi-noob questions and they were answered professionally and, more importantly, correctly. We were not from this area but wanted to stop by for a few things, especially since their reviews were so high. The reviews are not only justified, but reinforced as soon as you talk to the staff. Even the younger, albeit less social fellah was asked questions, he perked up with extensible knowledge on the compatibility of different fish. Overall, great shop. Worth your visit.

Worst fish store Ive ever been in. Ive been involved in the hobby since 1993 and been to stores all over the country. This shop should be shut down. Tons of dead fish in the saltwater and fresh water tanks. Rude staff and no knowledge of the hobby. Terrible. Do not go unless you want to see dead fish and overpriced sick fish.

Small local fish store. Their selection is pretty small for freshwater species but I usually have a 90% survival rate when I get fish here compared to the other LFS which is much lower. More quality than quantity. They carry plants and tissue cultures as well.Food and supplies are a tad bit more pricier than other LFS by about 1-2% more but I usually come here for the fishes, plants, or rocks only. Great aquarium shop nonetheless.

I have known the owner for a long time, he is the most knowledgeable person I know when it comes to fish. He will help you every step of the way when you are trying to establish a new salt water tank. He is always very friendly and is happy to answer any questions you have about fish and the like. His staff are also very friendly and helpful. The prices are great too, and they always have good deals on saltwater fish food.the fish are healthy and he keeps a clean store. If you havent gone to this fish store, check it out you wont be disappointed.

This is the best place for discus.The quality of their discus are the best. I bought several from them and were all very healthy.These are some of the more expensive fresh water fish, and arguably the most sensitive so getting a good supplier is important. .You have great choices here.

This is the best fish store in Sac! Michael and his crew is very knowledgeable about all kinds of fish and they will help you with any questions you have.

This place has a fine variety of fish, though sometimes they have very limited availabilities. Their return policy (1 week) could be increased, like Petsmart has 1 month return policy. (Sometimes fish can last just a little longer than 1 week and then they just die). The staff is friendly and helpful.

Their discus variety beats others in the area. We just bought a AquaticLife brand internal marine mini skimmer for our 30 gallon salt water aquarium and installed it today its been working great so far and I highly recommend Splash Aquarium!

Super helpful and super fast, even though they were quite busy when we arrived. Knowledgeable and not condescending at all. (As some bigger places can be, even though they dont have the correct knowledge or answer) came home with 2 guppies for my kids to replace their carnival fail.

Hands down my favorite LFS in town! Great stock, great prices, and an awesome staff! Ive never had an issue with anything Ive gotten here. They carry some really rare and hard to find stuff with incredible prices. The owner knows his stuff and educates his staff! They also do special orders.The only downside is they do not do exchanges for live items, and they do not take trades. Which is a bummer because I raise some hard to find plants but have to sell them online instead.

Visited from out of town and this store was by far my favorite. Not the largest store but carried almost anything you need and many rare breeds of freshwater can be found here. All employees were friendly, knew their stuff and even gave me great deals on plants. Go check them out!
