As we all know, its been very difficult for us during the pandemic, many of our favorite hobbies pushed to the back seat. Im excited that they have taken every precaution to keep customers safe. If your like me and love golf but a little short on playing 18 holes. Come to this Gem and keep your game flowing with this great driving range and chip and putting .
Ive been playing golf and visiting driving ranges for almost 30 years, and they RARELY get better than these facilities ...Great turf, multiple practice areas for putting / short game / wedges / and long shots, and a WONDERFULLY GRACIOUS staff!Reasonable prices make it a go-to for working on all parts of your game.Great job to all involved in keeping this range in stellar shape!
Wonderful golf range for people who work and want to practice. Open till 10pm... they have a large chipping range which is completely separate from the driving range. Sand bunker practice. Putting area. Covered driving range area (small for about 6~7) golfers I think.. Its a normal range.. What led me to write this review was the gentleman in the proshop... He was extremely informative and nice over the phone and in person. Really great impression.
I found this place a week ago, and have been about three times since. It’s not your average private club range. This driving range is like no other. The staff makes you feel very welcome, and always there to help out. They quickly know you on a first name basis. I’m glad to have found this place and highly recommend checking out! They also have a text messaging service; if you need another bucket of balls, then they will bring them to you.
This place is amazing. Taking social distancing seriously and great for hitting balls late in the evening!!
Great Driving Range! BYOB & BYOfood during Covid.
Pretty good condition, but not as good as it used to be. Turf is pretty thin, and dirt/sand underneath is pretty harsh on clubs. And the range balls are so old, I would imagine your distances will be off by 10% or more, not to mention poor ball flight.
Great spot! Easy and friendly service.
This is a great facility. Capability to practice all skills from putting, short game to long, including private lessons.
Excellent range to perfect all phases of your game
Extremely friendly, patient, and courteous staff.Great environment and atmosphere. Mike took time to explain it all to us and made us feel more than welcome. Highly recommend this place and couldn’t be happier we found it. Thanks guys!
A great grass practice range. Complete range with putting greens, pitching, chipping and driving! Staff is great!
Great facility, large open spaces, affordable prices
Honestly this place is great, cool people, good food. Only thing I would change would be the hours. 10am is to late in the golfing world. How about being able to hit golf balls at 8 am or 9 am during the weekdays. I know the weekends its 9am. Its best for early risers like myself. The golf driving range is a great place to practice I enjoy it.
Peaceful, kept clean, long range, fun times.
Best place for a chill time for beginners or a great place for a pro trying to get reps in. Awesome staff. Such an Austin LEGEND. Hope it never dies.
This is by far the best public driving range in town.
Good place for exercise.
This place is an incredible practice facility to work on every part of your game. Prices are incredibly reasonable and the grounds are well kept. Best of all, the staff is very friendly and welcoming. If you are a beginner like me or a seasoned pro, youll find everything you need here!
Perfect for an afternoon of whacking little white balls to blow off some steam. Definitely recommend. Its also conveniently located, for a driving range.
Love this driving range. The hitting areas are always so nice. They even recently added a food trailer selling burgers and bacon wrapped hot dogs with some different topping options. Very relaxing place.
Total BS that this place is closed, no wonder so many people are out of work!!
Best place to practice in the area. Not much shade, so bring a hat or sunscreen. Great short game facilities, as well as a decent range. Golf balls arent too beat up. Really not a lot of negatives to the place. Staff are very friendly as well. Best part is, theyre open until 10pm. I havent found anyone around that stays open that late.
This place really doesnt leave much to be desired as far as driving ranges go.Start out on the putting green, move on the the chipping range, next is the short game range and finally the long ball range. All tees are grass and well maintained. They have a movable sunshade cover for those hot summer days, however Ive never seen in placed in a position where it could be used.Prices are competitive and the balls are better than average. My only suggestion would be to have a better system to mark yardages on the ranges, but thats a minor annoyance. Highly recommend!
Absolutely love this place! The grounds are kept nice and neat, the wedge range separate from the full club range is unheard of and the chipping and putting greens are like stepping up to any hole on a course. Of all the driving ranges Ive ever been to, this is by far the best one.
Best place to practice! Right now the grass is in great condition and the range is kept in very nice shape. I love this range for the short 80yrd practice tee. Everyone is super nice here and Mike M. always knows how to treat customers awesome!
The prices are very reasonable and the staff are friendly and helpful. The only reason I’m not giving this place a 5 star rating is because their putting green is slower than most golf course’s fairways. If their putting green rolled like a normal putting green this place would be perfect.
Great greens to chip and range
I’ve been coming here for about two years. The improvements in the last year have been impressive. The tee areas on the driving range have plush grass to hit from. In the past they were a bit rough. Used to need a tee in some areas. If you like to hit in the evening the lighting has improved as well. The pitching area has a lot more targets to hit at. It’s about 100 yards long I think. If you are serious about your short game you should bring a range finder since the tee areas change daily and getting the exact distance is impossible without one.The chipping area is my favorite area. You can work on your short game from many different scenarios. The only thing that would make it perfect is if they had a sand bunker to practice from.
Good value and very friendly staff. Its obvious a lot of time and upkeep gets put into such a large area. Will definitely be coming back. Two minor improvements I think would go a long ways. First, please add marker distances to the wedge driving range. Second, and probably more importantly, I think having some water available down on the range would be appreciated by patrons. These were the only two things I noticed that would help transition this place from good to excellent!
No clubs for sale, no loaner clubs.
The new owner has made many improvements including a greenside practice bunker. There is a large chipping green, a short range for 100 yds and in with lots of targets and of course the driving range with at least 25 slots. Certainly the best range in North Austin and Round Rock.
I was short on money the day before pay day. Both gentlemen behind the counter spoted me a couple bucks.... I play a lot at Bluebonnett I’m a 4 handicap. The grass out here is really nice, super nice. They also keep up 2 greeens that are always in perfect shape. This feels like a country club almost.Congratulations to the lender for opening up a super cool place.
Big improvement. Now they include a sand bunker. You can see the hard work put into this place.
Ive been going here pretty much all summer. This place is awesome. Id come once a long time ago before the new owner took over, and it was a disaster. I cant believe how much better it is now and its clear they have plans to make it even better. I was just about to leave the range a few weeks ago when they ordered a LOT of new balls for the range. A huge truck had to deliver them. They are clearly investing in this business. They have a practice putting green, a chipping green, a wedge range and full club range. They take good care of all four areas. Ive heard rumours that an additional practice area might get added in the future. The owner really knows golf and golf courses, and cares. Most of the ranges Ive been to in the past in Austin and vicinity (that werent part of a golf course) were just barely disguised sand pits. Not this place; you are hitting off of real turf and it makes a difference. Theres also a big canopy they roll up next to the range, so you can keep your clubs etc in the shade and take a break when its hot. The staff is really friendly and helpful, including the owner. You can see that this is important to them here. Sometimes the guys who pick up the balls on the range will stop and give you a chance to win a free bucket of balls by hitting into their pickup basket. I loved that when they did that the other day. I almost spent the entire day here today with my son (who never wants to leave). So, nothing but very good things to say about this place. If you love golf, youll love this place.
Great to find grass tees here. Very well maintained putting and chipping greens!
Pretty decent facility. I think there prices are good. Balls are in good shape. You can really work on your gsme here..
Excellent and well kept facility for practicing every part of your game. Customer service from Mike M has been outstanding every visit!
Highly recommend. Great facilities and friendly staff, prices are fair too.
I visited there for the 1st time yesterday (10/24/17). I wanted to see if my left hand had recovered enough from an accident such that it would allow me to grip a golf club. The man behind the counter didnt want me wasting my money if I wouldnt enjoy it. He gave me a small bucket of balls and recommended I chip a few. This range is amazing if you havent ever been there. Thanks, Ill be back when I can play again.
Great place to practice and have fun been here a couple of times already and the experience I had was awesome.
Excellent practice facility
Great experience and good deals on buckets of balls I would definitely recommend this place to anyone and I would go back again.
***Stay Away***Not going back again. Cheaper at the golf course now. No more unlimited buckets... the lady at the desk rudely said that It makes it easier for people to come and only hit one bucket and pay less (3 whole dollars for one vs unlimited). They now have signs posted everywhere where they will run out a bucket for you lol(lowest priced bucket was like $10). But they wont give you a ride to the back of the long walk. This is a poor business model. Dont know who came up with this but its sad as I use to come here and got friends to come out with me. But now we wont. Wondering how long its going to take them to close...Will be posting on all media as I wish I would have known before I made a trip over here.
This place is pretty good. After having read some of the other reviews about this place I was skeptical but decided to give it a shot, and I was surprised at how big it is and the various areas they offer.-The balls are yellow Srixton. Out of the Jumbo size I shot, all but one looked close to new.-The putting area is smaller, but focuses more on the gradient extremes you may see on some courses.-The chipping area is nice and mostly flat, and they keep balls out in the area so you dont need to buy balls just to practice your chip.-The wedge area is not that deep but there are plenty of spaces for people and a mix of objects to aim at.-The long range has plenty of space but is narrower than some might like, and there arent that many markers to gauge distance. They also have a moving shade structure for the summer months.
NO WATER...except in the club house which is somewhat distant from the driving range. Not a good policy with our Texas heat. A couple industrial buckets strategically placed would be greatly appreciated and not that expensive. This is a nice facility and very inexpensive. Good driving range, pretty big chipping area, full wedge shot targets, maintained putting green.Price is right and friendly folks in the pro shop.
Great options for chipping and all around best driving range around.
Really love this place! My husband is awesome at golf and I am very novice. Tejas provides a spot where we can both practice, with as many buckets of balls we want, on a variety of course elements. Their Par 3 range is awesome and Ive definitely seen improvement when I used their chipping green to practice.
So it used to be $16 for unlimited all day range balls which was great and used to go almost once a week or when I could but now its $16 to get a bucket of balls.... What a joke if they think this will work. Will not be going back until the unlimited range is brought back. Yall lost a weekly customer.
Low cost driving range without the frills of top golf.
Best practice facilities in town, no question. The turf is thick and healthy right now and no mats anywhere. The entire facility is lighted, they sell very reasonably priced beer and are open until 10 PM so its the perfect after work or Sunday night activity...and its way cheaper than TopGolf.
Arnold Palmers passing/Ryder Cup excited me and my buddies idea of going to the range for unlimited balls a day before they charged by the bucket (Oct. 1st). As I go to pay they mention that they decided to charge per bucket a day early without prior notice. The woman at the front desk asks if I would like to get a bucket. I decline. A second woman then makes a snide remark to my reply.Me, my buddies, and people in the parking lot were upset when I mentioned the sudden change of policy. Missing prior notice and a snide remark was a great way to lose customers for the day and is a great way to lose them in the future.
What a low level driving range for any golfer. First, the balls they sell you are the old rock hard ugly yellow range balls that quite frankly I have not seen anyone use for 10 years. They had almost a smooth surface and we were laughing trying to tee some up to hit our driver. They were out of round and you had to search for a flat spot so it would not fall off the tee.Second,it is at least a quarter mile walk back to the so called range, ridiculous. Third, the chipping green is a joke, the surface is blotchy, several weeds and grasses. When you chip on it there is no telling where your ball will bounce. It is worthless. Therange was a pathetic combination of several odd grasses,Sandy loam and hard pan. We had to use a tee on irons to get a consistent shot but the balls were so poor it was like hitting marbles. We walked back the quarter mile, dodging rocks and rough terrain vowing never to return. It was so low end. I am shocked they have a 3 1/2star rating.
The practice ranges are all pretty nice and allow you to practice almost all areas of your game. The short range and chipping green are really nice. The long range lacks very accurate/helpful yardage measurements. Also, the putting green is VERY slow - if I wanted to putt, I went somewhere else.Bottom line: if you want to hit a lot of balls, this is the place to go for only $12. If you want to spend a decent amount of time around the green, use a courses practice facility.
Achieved golf zen.
You have the opportunity to work on all phases of your game at the facility! I used this facility to build my game up during my business travels to the area. The owner and manager of the facility was very welcoming!
Love it here
Dont waste your money. $16 for a bucket of range balls is called a rip off. The attendant actually apologized for charging so much. Its a bit unfortunate because if they were reasonable I would not only be a regular customer, but would refer fellow friends and golfers. Unfortunately now I tell them the truth about the place and refer them elsewhere.
Awesome place. Employees are polite and helpful.
Good place to work on your all around game. Good driving range, great chipping and pitching range, good putting greens. Friendly staff, fair prices, only real gripe is because of the sorrounding landscape (looks like it used to be a retainage pond) it can stay a bit swampy days after rain especially near the driving range.
I like the spaciousness, with nobody right next to you most of the time. That, and a good pricing structure, make up for the cheap range balls.
Easy going. No frills. Just a driving range. Also has putting green and chipping green.
Great range
Been coming here for about a year. I live in central Austin and still make the drive because its worth it. The chipping and putting greens are great for the short game.
15 bucks unlimited driving. Nice patio and they sell beer!!! Do this. Perfect alternative to the expensive top golf.
Lovely facility. I wished they opened earlier (7 or 8am) so i could go hit before work!
Great way to work on your game. Real Grass no mats!
Best driving range in the area, they have $16 unlimited balls and a friendly staff. Also the putting green is green
I was impressed, im going back today
Never answer their phone and every time I try to go they are closed. Poor management and customer service
The staff was excellent the facility was top notch recommend it to anyone who loves golf
