Had a mini golf buddies trip, were from Houston area and wanted some hill country golf. None of us had ever been here before but we were not disappointed. This is an awesome layout and course was in great shape with really good greens! They have really nice practice facilities and good food.I had to return 10min after we left the parking lot because I forgot my $150 Bushnell bluetooth speaker. The cart I was in was already back on the course but the staff was very helpful in getting my speaker back, especially the guys in the cart barn.Cant wait to go back!

Great course. Very fun layout. I own the Concierge Network in the hotels and we send guests there regularly and always hear positive feedback. I am also an avid golfer and loved this course. Be careful on a couple of holes if you are a long ball hitter...its tempting to cut a corner, but you will be in big trouble if you dont make the cut. Greens were in great shape as were the bunkers. Also, the grill makes a killer breakfast burrito and club sandwich. I highly recommend Forest Creek.

As a newer golfer this course was the worst experience I have had. The course is beautiful and very nicely maintained. However the marshal was terrible. Was hounded over and over to keep up play which I completely understand to keep things moving, however no other group was behind us or having to wait on us. The course was treated like every person there was a PRO. Which is not the case because if so you wouldn’t be there. I understand as a newer player to the game, I am probably slower than most and am more than happy to pick up and move if I am holding up play. But when I am not and I am talked to the way this gentleman did it’s not ok. I would not recommend this course nor would I go back as a beginner trying to learn and enjoy the game.

The course was very clean and well kept, but the issue ultimately rests with the staff and pace of play guidelines. Some context, we were in a foursome, 3 of us decent enough players with one person learning. We had a group of two behind us, and after seeing they were clearly being slowed down by us let them pass. For the next several holes we were met with constant alerts regarding pace of play and a Marshall coming out to urge us forward. We ended up skipping a hole, and still were approached about pace of play.I understand, that maybe we could be faster, but at the same time the conduct by which we were urged on was deeply unappreciated especially considering that golf is a declining sport in terms of player base, and this sort of behavior obviously doesn’t help the one person we had that was learning.Still we did enjoy our first reunion as a group since Covid, just wish the staff would have let us enjoy it more.

My friends and I play once a week, and in the past have enjoyed trying out different courses in the interest of variety. However, weve now settled on playing Forest Creek every week. Its just that much better. The value is outstanding. We play Friday mornings, and heres why:- Extremely well-maintained course- Top notch starter and marshalls that keep everything flowing smoothly- Free range balls (weekdays - next few perks)- Sleeve of balls- Entered into daily drawing- Free hotdog/sausage wrap and drink at end of round (and they actually have a smoker)- GPS on the cart- Usually greeted at my car with a cartThis is how you run a public course. Check out my review for Shadow Glen for an example of how not to.Thanks FC. See you Friday.

Want to say the General Manager Jeff handled a difficult situation splendidly. We had been accidently scheduled in for a late 18 hole tee time 5:40pm on a Monday afternoon the same time as a tournament. Our Situation was handled poorly at the end of the day.Long Story (although not short) Next day, Jeff offered for my group to come back at any time we would like and play a full 18 if we chose to do so. I took him up on the offer and we will be returning VERY HAPPILY to Forest Creek Golf Club.Great Course set up, Beautiful Greens and Fairways. Definitely RECOMMENED!

Try to pair up with someone who knows the course as youll be faced with several tee shots with blind landing areas. Picking the right club and line is critical. If you are thinking of playing golf, give Forest Creek a try; I think youll enjoy your day.

If I could give 0 stars I would. This golf course, in the middle of a global pandemic, still charged us for our 4th player after we cleared it with one of their employees. We were told it was fine and that they appreciated our business. After noticing the charge, we called and were given a token line about course policy despite our explanation regarding why the 4th player could not make it.My friend group plays 2-3 times per week and we have all agreed to permanently remove this course from our course list. While I respect their policy, our circumstance and the global pandemic should have allowed for a more detailed, customer-focused response. This decision is very disappointing and does nothing but penalize the employees of the organization who could find themselves in an unfavorable position if these types of decisions and responses are normal.

Forest Creek is a very well kept course. The fairways and greens are usually in great shape. The food in the club house is great and they offer draft beer also. The rates are fair for a great course. The only minor issue I have is that you dont get many balls for your money on the driving range. That seems to be a problem at lots of courses though. Its not like an extra 10 balls would cost the course anymore. All in all, this is one of our go to courses for a great time during the week or on a weekend. They also offer a player development club and sometimes have trip giveaways for hole on ones. Check em out!

My friend and I played a round of golf here a month or so ago. My friend left his keys in the cart at the end of our game. A few days later, he realized he did not have his keys then realizing that his keys were in the cart. After driving up to the golf course, the front desk admitted to having the keys on hand. Only now there was $50 USD missing from the key chain in a special case. The man at the front desk said, “oh ya their was $50.00 in there” and acted like it was lost. It’s was not lost, the man took it. The odd part is the name and number of my friend is scribed on the key chain. They never once called or notified him of the keys. Sketchy staff move there.

I had never heard of Forrest Creek, and my brother was coming in from out of town, and suggested we try something new. Having zero expectations, we were pleasantly surprised to have played such a wonderful golf course. Nearly every hole is well thought out, with plenty of doglegs to bring challenge into the course. Fairways, greens, and bunkers were all taken care of. The only complaint, and it was not that big of deal, is that they dont put yardages on their sprinkler heads. Do not expect much out of your round the first time you play, as you have to get to know this course, but my brother and I cannot wait to go back and shoot a better score. Congratulations on such a fine course!

My favorite club in Central Texas. Challenging greens, luscious fairways, it can play long from Golds (Tee I) or short from the Reds / Greens ( Tee IV and V).Lots of sand, lots of creeks (dry and wet), and lots of trees and thick brush. The undulating greens make it an interesting club to play regularly, plenty are various looks at the holes and paths your putts will take. The clubhouse and grill are underwhelming for the location and quality of the course, but the rates are fair. Way better course than Avery or Star. It compares well to Tera but its not as wide open. I hit driver on less than half of the par 4/5s. Lots of laying up unless you can clear the woods and carry great lengths. Its hard to beat Forest Creek.

Played Forest Creek Golf Club this past Saturday with my brother. Normally we just play at Delaware Springs in Burnett which we love. After playing the course Saturday, we decided that this would definitely be one of our go to courses when I visit him in Lampasas. The greens were excellent, the fairways were excellent and the layout is both challenging and well thought out. The only complaint was that there were not yardage markers on the sprinkler heads, only at 200, 150 and 100 yards and that some of the tee boxes were a little worn. I would highly recommend this course for anyone looking for a good course in good shape at a fair price. We walked the course in 99 degree weather and it was not difficult to walk at all, though we did use our push carts.

Love this course. Probably the most challenging course in central Texas. You cant just go there and bomb away with a driver and then chip up to a big green. Fairways are tight on many holes and there are a lot of twists and turns which make you leave the driver in the bag and hit an iron. Bring all 14 clubs...youll need them all.Greens have been renovated and are in great shape. Pace of play and price is very good as well. Great staff, great course, great price!

Customer service is top notch. I have never played here before yet the staff welcomed me like I was a regular. The course was in very good shape, the pro had warned me the the green were still very firm and not very reseptive due to green being re-soded last year which proved to be true. A very good value for the quality of the course and the very good customer service. This is a residential course but I never had the feeling of the houses interfering with the course.

This used to be my favorite local course, played for several years. Not anymore. Played a round after renovations and changed my mind. Prices are about quite a bit higher than previously and no longer offer a military discount like they used to, to me and my buddies who are also vets. Not to mention, the first-hole marshal/timekeeper constantly bothered my friends and I three to four times while on the putting green and driving range asking us what group we were in and our tee time. After telling him each time that we werent up for another 30-45 minutes, I finally ended up having to go to the club house to let them know what was going on.Now dont get me wrong, I really enjoy the course itself and the changes since the renovations are a definite upgrade. The range is very nice and the course changes are a plus. However, it still left a bad taste in my mouth, and no longer my favorite course.I also understand they are trying to recoup costs from renovations, but for the green fee prices now, you can get a similar experience at the nicer courses in the area. Not to mention some places include breakfast & lunch, cart, and range balls for the same price.

I was really excited to try Forest Creek after its re-opening and i was not disappointed. The greens are so much better than its prime prior to the decline a few years ago. You can tell the new management knows what they are doing. They even installed a 19th hole/additional green changing #3 par 5 to a par 3 and a par 4 when #9 gets washed out from heavy rains. The price is a lot higher than it was previously, but the maintenance of the course makes it worth it. Even the turf on the driving range is in great shape. Good job turning this course around!

This place will need a couple of seasons of care to get where I think they want to go after the overhaul. Its a fun course. Price is good value for the play. Ive seen many promotions coming out in an effort to gain exposure and revenue. Greens didnt hold on approach shots, yet the greens were not fast. In fact they seem slow. We couldnt figure that out but perhaps its the type of grass. Booking on their site went a little wacky since the time they had differed from my conformation but they made sure it worked out for us.

I played terrible, and it showed in my score. The greens are a bit hard and very difficult to read. Not much breaks out there even if youre on a slope. Im sure once the foundation settles in that the lines will be more reliable. All in all, this was a great course to play and can see this being excellent for club championships and higher level tournaments in the future.

I was misinformed that the golf course was closed for renovation and I took a walk with my son and our two dogs out on the course. I was later informed that only half of the course was closed and the remainder would close January 2018. Thinking that the four gentleman on the course were there without permission I continued on my journey.I walked past four gentleman. One of the men wearing an Ole Miss shirt started screaming profanities at me in front of my 6 year old son. I quickly replied how dare you speak to me in such a way and if you have something to say you can be polite. I told him the course was closed for renovation and once again he continued to verbally attack me. The worst part of it was that none of the other 3 gentleman that were there intervened to calm his friend down or at that point calm me down. In fact these so called men were laughing. Again I walked up to the man and I said what is wrong with you? Why would you speak to anyone that way? Why would you act this way in front of my child? The man said I’m fine with hitting you with a ball if you can’t get out of the way. The gentleman pushed me and again his friends did nothing. I told him I was calling the police. His response was good so you can be arrested for being on private property. I will admit I lost my temper at that point and left a present from my dog in his golf cart. The police came out and the gentleman in the Ole Miss shirt and his buds lied to the officer and said that the man didn’t push me. Per the officer nothing could be done because the witnesses (the guys buds) lied. What is really upsetting is that the manager of the club did not return my call and the gentleman was allowed to continue playing. No action was taken against this man. I’m disgusted that the Forest Creek Country Club would support verbal and physical abuse of another human being!I admit that it was my mistake for being on the course that day and that this was a safety issue. I would have appreciated if this gentleman could have approached me in a nice and calm manner. The minute I found out the course was open I was leaving. That is hard to do when a man holding a golf club in his hand is cursing you out in front of your child and is telling you that he doesn’t care if he hits you with a ball or not.I’m not sure of the name of the gentleman that stopped and talked to me when He saw that I was absolutely upset and crying my eyes out but thank you for stopping to talk to me and to calm me down. Thank you for being a true gentleman. The man that attacked me on the course was at least 6 feet tall. He was overweight and I’m guessing was in his fifties. His teeth were crooked. He was wearing an Ole Miss red shirt and black pants He was wearing a baseball cap.

Played it twice -- once in Fall and once in the Spring. Course was in better position later in the year which was surprising considering that there had been some rain in the Spring. Maybe the maintenance crew was ordered to conserve costs therefore no water placed on the fairways. Greens were in ok shape both times played -- rolled pretty true to the line picked. Mature trees, some length, a little generous on some holes and a little less on others. Pace of play on the average side -- just over 4 hours. Costs in line with other course in the area --less than $40. Staff non-existent. No beverage cart. No one in clubhouse was rude either time that I played so I dont know if the rude people are gone or not. I actually would grade at 3 1/2 stars but the rating thing doesnt like partials. Worth the trip off of 79 to play.
