Today was beautiful. nice lake. small but nice. watch out for occasional bathroom crackhead. other than that its great!!
Love to bbq, walk my dog. When its nice Im here with my grandkids
First off, I came early to walk the park, and a grounds keeper was power washing the grills, the tables and sitting area! Thanks to the Park and Rec of the city to keep the park clean!Mornings here are great! Because theres not a lot of people here, some old folks walking, people just walking their dogs, I saw a man swimming laps this morning.I know by noon and late afternoon there will be kids and parents. So, some parent time while kids play. But if youre looking for a quite place... look elsewhere.
This park is nice, peaceful, a good place to go fishing, the kids at the beach, a dock for boat, neighbor friendly, close to Cub Food, grilling area, a changing room/ bathroom during working hours with life guard on board at certain time if you do go swimming. But please do call or go there in person if questions or concerns and for the time frame. It also has a playground for the kids to play on along with a walking trail in which I havent done that myself yet.
So beautifulSeagulls and geese everywhere. So nice.
Its a Beautiful lake Park, I enjoyed my time there.
My kid Love it. Its close by and clean waters. Please keep it that way if you come visit.
So beautiful! Can go fishing, grill, swim in the lake, and kids can play in the park. Something for everyone to do.
Great place to bring your family, barbeque, fish and swim
Its nice. I like taking photos of stuff and theres tons of nice photography places there. The only thing is, the swimming area isnt that nice to swim at
Place was nice not to many people and the water was just right. Nice place to cool off and enjoy the day.
Nice bbq area! Clean
We walked around the lake and the grandkids played at the playground
Super shallow-great for small kids!
One of the great lakes of Minnesota to take a dip or bbq on any day..
My kids love coming here and playing at the park and go swimming
We like coming here with the kids to grill and play at the park and beach
Its my first time to go there. Very impressive and I definitely will go back soon.
Enjoying the lake scenery, walk around the lake, fishing, cook out, etc.
They have a table for barbecue and also they have a place for swimming.
Heres what you need to know:Parking: LotAge range (playground): 1+Sidewalks: Paved to play area, picnic shelter, dock, and through the park (but not to the beach)Seating: Limited benches by play areaBathrooms: Located in picnic shelterPicnic tables: Several in picnic shelter with more by the beach and dock areasGrills: Located in picnic shelter and by the beach and dock areasSports field: Open fields; dock for fishingLake McCarrons County Park is a good-sized park located off a busy street near the border of Roseville and Saint Paul. Even with how busy it gets (and trust me: it gets busy), theres always parking available. The nearest park amenities to the parking lot are the picnic shelter and, a short walk from there, the playground. If youre considering hosting a party here (its a pretty nice shelter that seats around 50 people), either make reservations through the county or arrive super early to call dibs. Take my word for it that evening hours here, especially during the weekends and holidays, are super busy. The play area is laid with mulch and has a playground and swing set. One feature I appreciate about the McCarrons playground is that one end is perfect for walking tots and the other for skilled climbers. Kids of all ages can enjoy the play space.A couple minutes walk past the picnic shelter and pavilion is the beach. Its newest feature is a sand and water play area. While theres a life guard post, Ive never seen one on duty during any of our visits.McCarrons Lake is a naturally-occurring lake. This means if youre planning on swimming, dont be surprised by fish and other lake critters (no leeches in my experience!).The park includes a beach front and a dock for fishing. Most of the lake, however, is private property belonging to Roseville residents. Weve seen dogs swim across the lake and hang out in the park. If youre not fond of dogs, just be aware that there might be an escapee running loose. For those who are interested in fishing, most of what youll catch are sunfish. We have, however, also caught crappie here.I love that McCarrons has an overflow of grilling space and picnic areas. I feel most parks arent well-stocked in this way. I also like how these cooking areas are spread out across the park instead of all in one area (who would picnic that close to strangers?).Because this park is located near the border of Saint Paul and Roseville, this park isnt as clean as most Roseville parks (I didnt even know it was a Roseville park until I looked it up). You can basically find litter or uncleaned picnic areas throughout the park.Additionally, and Im guessing its because of the lake, there are a ton of geese here. It only follows that theres also a ton of geese poop. On the grass, in picnic areas, on the beach, even in the lake. No matter how careful I am, some of it always ends up stuck to a wheel of the wagon.Furthermore, the company isnt always friendly-looking. My kiddos and I only ever visit by ourselves or with friends during the morning hours. If youre planning to go in the evening hours, make sure you go with others--or a loyal dog.
Its was nice, clean and relaxing.
Nice beautiful place. Perfect area to have a nice picnic with your family or friends. The lake is also a mice little bonus, although I think its meant for kids its still fun.
Its a quiet and peaceful place and beautiful.
My favorite place to relax
Fun place for family and friends
Nice little swimming hole on Rice.
Very PEACEFUL I LOVE IT
Not too crowded.
Clean and quiet today.
It good places hangout
Great place for the family to enjoy.
Old, often messy, due to normal use. By public.
Actually a pleasant park for the family or even a miniature picnic with someone. Only one gazebo though so if planning larger even be warned.
Nice city park. Boat launch and fishing dock as well as a beach and picnic areas.
Love the atmosphere and kids. My grandkids enjoyed themselves. BUT famlies need to pickup there trash. It really runes the whole happy scene.
Ive been coming here since I was a child!!!
Great little park!
Outdoors bathroom was terrible need someone to keep it clean
It was pretty nice, the lake isnt gard and it was locked off so that was disappointing but besides that it was nice
Nice quiet place to relax and have lunch.
Great place to take the kids swimming and playing in the parks playground. A good place to BBQ not a lot of sit down space I would pack some lawn chairs, and the shade is limited when its sunny out.
Pretty park, am surprised nobodys here swimming yet on such a nice day...
Nice park and will give more stars when beach reopens
A beautiful clean park and small beach lovely view and a big open area bor barbecues and family gatherings
Nice shady parking area. Also a lot of parking spaces.
Great family atmosphere
Beautiful park! Peaceful.
Lots and lots of goose poop everywhere. Not a great place for small kids to play in the field bc theres no clean up time with the poopoo. The water leave an awful smell to the skin. My hair get tacky. I would not reccomend this place to anyone
Awesome
Nice lake to let the kids get wet on a hot day. Life guards on duty, sheriffs patrolling the area, big pavilion incase you want to have a birthday party. Other picnic areas with bbq grills to use. Nice park and public restrooms. They also have a Dairy queen in walking distance and plenty of parking. Beware of the Canadian goose poop all over the grass though.
My favorite BBQs memories were made here from my childhood when there was the long Pavilion and all the picnic tables underneath and the bathroom two steps away. Now my three daughters are making their memories...!!!
Great park
Awesome place
Small but very beautiful lake with ample picnic facilities, toilets, shelter, sandy beach, kids playground and lifeguards on rotational duty. At a brisk stride can walk around entirely about 30 minutes. Lovely views all year round. Draws a steady stream of fishermen at the edges, on the fishermens jetty and on small boats further from shore. Soon as it gets sunny youll see many small families with kids driving here for some nice fresh air in the middle of the city. The neighborhood has a strong SEA ethnic flavor and on some weekends might be lucky enough to see some very colorful celebrations with beautiful young people in dress costumes. Check it out soon!
Great place to enjoy nature in the middle of the city.
We dont get to visit lake McCarron as much since moving to the mpls area. But we love this park. Me and my daughter always have a great time when we go there.
I used to go to this park as a child myself now I get to bring my own children. Lots to do, and my children love it.
Nice little Beach area for the most part. The main problem is that there is an enormous amount of goose feces everywhere. Employees put in a minimal effort to help clean it up. It is pretty gross.
I visited it in late May. The water was clean and clear and probably too cool for swimming. Plenty of geese so you got a beware of where youre stepping. ;) There is a fishing pier close by and a playground.
You can park and chill, or barbecue and let the kids play but you cant get in the water.
Love view
Nice to be by a lake.. can get ghetto at night
Being at the lake was ok just couldnt swim because there is something wrong with the lake
Excellent
Nice park and swimming atea
Fun, food, and, fellowship.
Lovely
Very calming and nice place
Kids had a great time playing in the water
Love!
Dirty but nice park lol
Great place to hang out with the family.
Loud music, marijuana smoke, life guards were the worst taking pictures, hanging out while on duty! Couldnt relax! Bugs galore!
Car show
We really like this park. It is great in the summer, but we try to avoid the weekends because it is just to packed and loud.
Dirty grounds. No walkway around lake, have to walk on streets.
Nice place to chill
The Lake Is Contaminated At This Time. No Swimming Until Further Notice.
I love this lake!!!
Nice small park
Nice lil spot
The lake is great for fishing therea lost of crappie during the summer you can see them just 1 or 2 feet away from the docks lots of them. Great place for fishing Id go fishing there and bbq for fun. But it does get pretty busy in the summer sometimes when theres alot of people the park is pretty small.
Need to clean the grounds and have more law enforcement to get rid of the drug dealers
Nice park and lake.
My go to place to chill out!
Beautiful lake!
Fun for kids. Needs clean up.
Nice lake with life guards and shallow beach.
I loved the peacefulness of this park. I just wish the bathrooms werent locked and we didnt have to use a porter potty
Nice spot to spend the day with friends and family bbqing or fishing
Nice, clean lake.
Great lake, playing grounds for kids, peaceful environment, fresh air, great parking lot, visit with kids, oh yah awesome place for barbecue
