Staff are friendly. The place is clean and tidy.If you see a movie in their Dolby Vision auditorium, be prepared for some absurdly loud moments. I recall reading that Blade Runner 2049 reached over 100 dB at a certain point or two, and I can confirm that happened when I saw it there.I’ve been in at least one auditorium there that had seats that leaned back a little bit instead of AMCs “signature“ power recliners. In other words, not all the auditoriums there – if any - have power recliner seats.I am looking forward to going to the movies again after the Covid pandemic has been tackled.
Nice experience. Free refills on large regular soda and popcorn. Got to watch the Equalizer2 early through Lyft. Pretty clean facility and really busy. Next to the bus line so I guess that makes sense. They also offer gourmet popcorn which I was tempted to buy. Ended up getting a huge bucket and large soda. They also have a self buttering station so you dont have to harass the employees for more flavor. I will say this though it looked a bit Dusty in theater 9 and I wish they would upgrade their seats to the reclining ones
Probably a three or could stay a 4. Appreciate that they (AMC) are one of the few if only ones open during covid. Hard to guage what the actual Rosedale theater experience would be like at a higher capacity. Seats not horrible but most of the theaters I have been to in the last year or two had much more comfortable arrangements.
Great place to see a movie. A List is a great deal. 25$ for 3 movies a week is a great deal. Concession prices are still crazy. 6$ for a hotdog you could get at a gas station for cheaper sucks.
I loved it We watched a movie in the Dolby theater it was awesome. I went with a very nice person.
Love this theatre as there arent too many people in here. we went last christmas to watch a movie and it was the only 2 of us in the auditorium. enjoyed our experience here and seats are so comfortable. tickets were cheap too
My kid Adam loves amc and watched 4 movies there and had fun.He knows how to choose his movies too.Great place.
Hand sanitizer, antibacterial wipes, masks, etc. Very good first experience since MN Stay at Home.
I saw a movie in the Dolby cinema and it was interesting and very very loud. If youre going to see a dolby film would suggest not sitting towards a wall
Great theater! Has both IMAX and Dolby Cinema, which I love both
Review for Dolby Cinema at AMC Rosedale:I’ve contemplated about building a movie theater in my downstairs living area, but it’s just not the same. I really enjoy going outside of the house for a date night at the movie theater.I love the moving audio and the reclining seats. This has made my experiences even better than it was before. I watch all the new movies on Dolby Cinema. It’s a must! Some say that it can get pricey, but ask your local movie theater if they offer any deals for memberships. Or just save a little money on the side for date nights!
On their website they advertise reserve recliner seating. But only a few theaters have recliners even if you can make a reservation. The parking there is horrible trying to compete for spots with shoppers. It had snowed the day before but the sidewalks and STAIRS were full of ice. (Not that cold, ice melt would have cleaned that right up). My sidewalk and home was clear already.Second time there and both times the popcorn was stale. We will never be going there again. Too many other great choices for movie theaters.
Great theaters, especially the sound. Didnt care for the high movie price.
Went to this theater on Christmas day, it was incredibly busy, and boy oh boy do I have to say the staff were incredible. They sacrificed their Christmas to make ours even a little bit better. There was this guy named James at the concessions who even though was stuck working Christmas had a smile on his face the whole time! Excellent service! My family and I will definitely be coming back!
Its a nice theater. The rows could be a smidge wider. (Im a big girl I felt bad tripping over people a tad bit.) I was approximately 10 rows from the front; so I hope the seat rows in front of me reclined a little bit further. (I felt u comfortable the entire movie; like I just couldnt get situated.) I NEVER buy anything from any theater concessions, they are always over priced (movie tickets are more than a pack of cigarettes that last WAY longer than movies that are rarely even 2hrs long anymore; can we get a discount/included with purchase, or even a better amount for the price asked for on the items ordered; SOMETHING? But my point is I did for the 1st time and I kind of felt segregated. When receiving my total I caught on to the fact that I should have been standing in a long line VS a few people waiting in the next line way over. But when I walked up there was only 1 person already ordering & a few people in the other one. After I asked few questions & placed my order & yet still NOBODY after me; I realized that there was a premier members line & a regular concession line. Umm, for any business nobody should have to wait extra long to give you money just because they are not signed up for something; whether its because they only attend the movie theaters once in a blue moon, daily or even they havent had the chance to sign up yet. I believe that I actually am signed up; but I wasnt asked to enter my number to check or anything. I just wanted my XXS order of extra expensive mozzarella sticks ASAP my movie was starting!
They have jumped on the bandwagon of assigned seating. Threw me off that the seats dont fold up anymore, so you dont have as much room to shuffle past people to get to your seat. Also... $8 for a regular size popcorn?? You can buy a whole box at the store for less. Bothers me how much they have jacked up those prices. Theater was fine otherwise, staff all nice, seat comfy enough. Bring in your own snacks though, seriously.
Very clean theater with a great loyalty program and excellent location. The only thing I wish this theater had was some recliner seats like the Coon Rapids location. Otherwise, a perfect place to go for a dinner/movie date night!
Several of the screens desperately need a remodel. They have 12 concession registers, but dont worry, there will only ever be a max of 3 being used. Typically only one - just to make sure there is a long line of people waiting. They dont serve alcohol. Half their drink machines (Icee included) are typically down. They are chronically understaffed and the people working generally dont care to be there at all. TL:DR it is only worth coming here if you have an AMC Stubs A-List membership, which I do. If there was a better theater with the same sort of subscription plan within range of me I would switch in a heartbeat.Oh and did I mention that 3 of the last 5 movies I went to they forgot to turn off the lights when the film began? Yeah, SUPER COOL.
Very nice theater. Nice seating.
My husband and I frequent this theatre for movies. The facility is updated and comfortable, but the concessions line always seems to be pretty slow - not slow enough to keep me from coming back though! Just be sure to allow yourself extra time to get treats at the concessions if you want to be in your seat to watch the trailers before the main show.
One person selling tickets. 5 people in line ahead of us. Took 20 minutes to get tickets. We nearly missed the start of the movie. Bought 2 soda cups at the concession stand. The machines were out of coke, sprite, and root beer. To late to get a refund. So they wonder why people are going to the movies less? What a shame.
Thought there was a Veterans discount?......no info on this. And i had an RC movie card from PA where I came from. No help on getting a Premier Club card for AMC.. ???
The screening experience is fine, but this location keeps feeling more and more run down every time I go. Not to mention AMC has some of the most egregious concession prices of all the nearby theater chains. Ill go here when I have to, but anywhere else when I can.
Usually I like AMC theaters... this one, however, not so much. It is terribly run. The concession line was incredibly long and not moving (inefficient staff). Once you pay for your $10 soda youll learn theyre pretty much out of everything. At least they have comfortable seats, right? Nope. I thought all AMC theaters had the recliners now but this one does not. Bathrooms? Out of TP and soap. Seems like they need a new manager.
Took my 4-year-old to Frozen 2 and had a blast. We did get snacks and the line took an insanely long time...they didnt realize they needed a few more workers when the line was SUPER long? At least its better than the time before when their card reader broke down and they were only accepting cash! Other than that, I do enjoy going to the movies here!
I was very impressed with the theatre and Dolby sound. Super comfortable seating. Never been to a theatre with reclining seats. Very comfy! Sure, movies are expensive these days, but I dont go to a lot of them, so it was worth it.
Excellent team, friendly and professional with quick service.Great movie experience and easy parking .Plenty of screens and good menu items. Clean place and great convenient location.
The lines were very slow & long. Suggest to pre purchase tickets. $5 Tuesday is only for stubs members unlike other theaters where its $5 for everyone. Taking the time to sign people up for stubs made for the long lines. Once finally purchased movie ticket at approximately 8pm finally walked into movie at 830pm due to long slow lines at concessions as well. Missed the beginning of the movie due to the slowness. Id suggest arriving significantly early if you wish to buy tickets and concessions. Otherwise the quality of the seats in the theater itself was excellent and clean. Enjoyed the movie. Customer service was good, just very slow!
Typical AMC theater but not all their theaters have recliners. Like using my Stubs perks to save time and money. Dont like that ticket booth is in an unheated entry as that can get pretty cold in Minnesota. Also, we went for a free screening and they put your cell phone in a numbered paper bag. Not cool! Time for them to invest in the lock bags if they are going to continue screenings. Phones are $1000, not worth something happening to it for a $15 movie.
It was nice and spaced out. I went to see parasite. The seats where actually nice. I just wish they had offered a 21+ lounge.
Nicer theater than other ones around. Clean theater room and well kept.
Worst theater Ive ever been at... Rude employees, manager that wouldnt address a problem that couldve been resolved easily. Rent a cop didnt help the situation either. Not worth the trip. Good luck parking too.
Its a movie theater and a comfy one at that. Stayed for back to back movies. As with any movie theater, prices are high, the place was well organized and fairly clean. The messes were totally customer related neglect of respect for their surroundings. The staff was friendly and attentive for the traffic they were managing.Bix office could be clearer about how the seating is set up when buying tickets and not just expect people to know how things work there. That and I think they could use some extra staff are why I only gave 4 stars.Otherwise, knowing that, go and have fun.Be respectful of them and their theater, please. Pick up after yourselves and do good. Were all worth it.
A little expensive. But buying our seats online was super easy and convenient. We were able to just go right up to the ticket checker and show our QR code and we were in!
Corporate movie theaters only upside is their superior selection of films. Concessions are horrendously overpriced. Dont go here unless there is a film you cant see anywhere else. Supporting a different theater is much better than lowering the bar and going to this place. Staff are fine though.
I watched a movie in Auditorium #9 which was large and had stadium style seating. View of the screen was unobstructed, sound quality was fantastic and exit signs were well illuminated and easy to find. My single detraction from this venue is the lack of reclining seats in the auditorium. Otherwise, very clean and I wouldnt hesitate to watch a movie here again.
Im sure this place is fine, but I was sad when I went to see the special screening of Star Trek: The Motion Picture, for which I had purchased tickets weeks ago, only to sit in the theater for 20 minutes until the manager came in to say they didnt have the movie. They tried to make up for it by giving refunds to those who paid in cash and free AMC tickets to those who paid online, but since this was a special screening, opportunities to see it again were limited. I only rarely see movies in theaters, so if anyone wants two free AMC tickets (exp. January) let me know
We were disappointed when we were turned away for a screening. Then when we were given passes to another new movie we were among many who had been similarly jilted. We were able to get seats but it was crowded and did not start when it was supposed to. But The face paint was nice and the movie was good. The theater was clean and the staff were nice enough but the cost of the piddling snacks was astronomically expensive.
Really clean. Great picture quality and sound system! Very comfortable!
Pick another theater. Been here a few times, only because other theaters were full. Theaters and concession area always dirty. Concession stands under staffed with big lines. Not enough room between recliner and front barrier which requires you to move your chair every time someone walks by and Too expensive. Marcus, Alamo and MOA all better options and better pricing.
Both online Ticketing Machines were out of service.. no big deal stood in the A List Member Line... for what felt like a really long time since there was only one person tending to both lines... When it got to my turn i was advised the person inside would scan my phone... So there was no reasons for me to have been in line... poor customer service and awareness from employees... for once, the person behind the glass couldve simply yelled out instructions for those with mobile tickets to simply go in... or the person inside waiting to scan couldve simply came out and told us to come in so she scans our tickets.. or simply have instructions near the out of service sign to sGo in if you have mobile or digital tickets... it was busy, just took long between each person to be helped... The self serving machines were out last time i was there too.. long time ago... poor management?understaffed? Who know... just a little effort or foresight couldve prevented this review...
Nice picture and sound. Old style theater without recliner chairs. Many movies to choose from. Order your tickets in advance because the theater is busy
Its a great venue to see movies. I saw Ford v Ferrari. Really good movie that really should be seen on a large screen.
I enjoyed the movie picture clear able 2 hear good seat n most of all the popcorn was fire.
Pleasant atmosphere. Updated theater next to a mall with plenty of restaurants around. Become a AMC member and enjoy the movies at a great price.
Good movie theater. Very busy location. Accessible by bus so it often has lots of teens.
Good theater, pretty standard for what to expect. The arcade area isnt as big as some theaters Ive been to and there arent as many good games. Thats about the only complaint I have other than food prices, but that is to be expected
Great seating. Clean. Lines for concessions are crazy and service there is slow. Not enough employees at counter.
Went during the weekday. The movie theatre was very clean. Love the leather seats, plus black leather made it had that luxury feel to it.
AMC Rosedale is one of my preferred theaters. It’s great because they have plenty of restaurants nearby if you want to eat before or after your movie. Only con is that if you care about recliner seats, they don’t have them in all theaters.
The Dolby experience theater is worth it if watching a film with great music. The HD is also worth it if there are nice visuals to enjoy. There is a significant difference that makes the film more enjoyable if you are someone who love music and cares about sound and heightened color and clarify of the picture.
This theater is pretty meh. Broken ticket machines. Slow service. The theater was pretty dirty (sticky floors and popcorn dumped in the seats). They dont have the upgraded seats (the cushy ones that recline). Idk. This place makes me want to just save my money and rent the movie when it comes out so that I can watch it in the comfort of my own house.
Great memories here, sadly the legendary AMC Rosedale 14 arcade has shut down, seemingly for good. Shout-out to my boy Gus, idk if he still works there or not but youre da man.
Really nice movie theaters I enjoyed my visit really look forward to going back again make sure to go early and go out to eat plenty of restaurants nearby in the mall that you can go to and then make it to your movie on time plenty of parking
Itss a great theater dont get me wrong, but make sure you remind them about being a rewards member. The girl i checked out with didnt ask and when i told her she apologized. Also, make sure your concession sizes are accurate. She tried giving us the regular size even we ordered the large. No biggie though.
Out with my friend to see the Downton Abbey movie. The theater is an easy meeting place for us. Great option. Very large, great selection of movies. They had handicap seating options for my friend so easy for us. Not sure if they have reclining seats. Not many people in the showing we were at which suits me just fine. Plenty of onsite parking and handicap accessible. Thanks for the nice experience.
I was looking at purchasing tickets for Avengers: Endgame for Tuesday night. It seemed like by signing up for their membership (the free one) would make the tickets $5 like most other places. This clearly wasnt the case... still after fees and taxes it was $27. I was looking here because Marcus theater, which I prefer to go to, was almost full. I understand why, they still honor the $5 ticket Tuesdays!
These are my close by Movie Theaters. Still it is a great place to enjoy the big screen and great sound.Sometimes I wish there were some of the old classics presented again; giving the opportunity to see again in the big screen Wonderful movies of the past.I take one star for cleanness, there is salt, oil and popcorn just everywhere. We in general should take better care of our movie theaters.
Movie and food are over priced. I was expecting premium service and seats at this price, yet it was only on par with lower cost alternative theaters. Food line was long, 10min wait, when there were little to no movie goers around. I was also told to wait twice for popcorn refills so that other customers could order their first popcorn. Ladies restroom was also closed. They do have coke machines as a plus, yet no ice. This was all on one day.
This is one of the only theatres Ive been to that actually knows how to show 3D movies. Ive always heard they are too dark, but never knew what people meant until I went to a different theater.
Pretty Nice - as long as you dont have to wait for others in your group. There is basically no nice place to wait if you have the tickets. There is one bench in the ticket sales area but its a sauna in there. If you decide to wait inside theres no place to sit. You just have to stand in the roped-off area and try not to make eye contact with the ticket taker. But the theaters are nice and comfy and the popcorn is good.
Garbage overflowing. Messy lobby area. For price of ticket, it wouldnt take much to clean things up a bit. No salt, butter(substitute) despenser empty. Good movie...
Great sound in the theater, but service at concessions...super slow
This theater is great, and not because its the most convenient for me. With self checkout and the AMC app, Ive never had to wait in long lines for tickets. The theaters are packed opening week which is always a great experience, but at odd times itll still get quiet if youre avoiding the crowd. Ive never had a problem with cleanliness or disruptive moviegoers. The food prices are high, but nothing you wouldnt expect from a movie theater. Location is great, right on the A Line and adjacent to some great food destinations.
3 1/2 stars. Theater was clean, sound was good. The snack counter had only one person working & the signs werent clear.
Hopefully this visit wasnt a normal day, but staff had poor training, menu boards with pricing werent operating, theater lights werent on for customers to find seats, and the volume for movie previews was louder than any concert I had ever attended. I believe the manager didnt come in to get the operation running and it showed. It was very disappointing for and expensive visit.
Still holds up to the movie experience even during a pandemic.
My older brothers birthday was today, so me, him, and my mom decided we would go out here to see the new Captain Marvel movie. When we arrived and got our tickets, we noticed our first big problem with the theater: there were not enough staff members behind the Dine-In counter to the point where more and more were filling up behind the line. Still, we didnt think it would harm us that much, seeing as how we still had a lot of time to spare (we arrived at 6 and our movie didnt start for almost half an hour). So after making our way to the front of the line, we ordered a chili dog and chicken tender triple feature (which comes with curly fries and a cookie), as well as a regular chili dog, only for us to be told that the hot dogs werent ready yet and it would be about 10 minutes before they were. So we think, well okay, thats fine, just as long as theyre done before the movie starts. Almost 5 minutes before thats about to happen, we FINALLY get our food. Keep in mind the kitchen had only about 5 or 6 people who were trying to fill orders for almost 30 or so people who were constantly coming through the line; not a smart move on managements behalf to stock so few people. By the time I had already made my way back to the theater where my mom and brother were with their food, I discover that they had only delivered just my hot dog and had forgotten the rest of my order. Frustrated, and with the movie starting in only 2 minutes, I hustle my way back to the Dine-In counter, explain the mistake to the staff behind the desk, and they stare at my ticket and food for almost 15 seconds, as though it takes them that long to figure out how they screwed up. So, they run back to fix it, and by this point I feel ready to ask them if I could talk to their manager, because I was angry at the disarray that this place was in. After an extra 10+ minutes, they FINALLY have the rest of my food ready, and by that point, the movie had already started, so I had to rush all the way back to my theater, up several flights of aisle steps and over and in front of several people who had already sat down in order to make my way to my spot. AMC Rosedale management, if you are reading this, for the love of God, DO A BETTER JOB OF ORGANIZING YOUR STAFF AND MAKING SURE THERE ARE ENOUGH PEOPLE ON DUTY TO HELP SUCH A LARGE INFLOW OF CUSTOMERS!!! The only reason I dont rate this lower is because the design of theater is actually quite nice (but doesnt hold a candle to Marcus Oakdale, where I normally frequent). Will not be coming back here in the future.
Great theater just a few minutes from home. The membership is well worth the price.
I almost exclusively go to this theater. The experience is awesome and the employees care about your experience.
This AMC has comfortable reclining chairs and sound so crisp, you feel like youre in the movies! Went to see Bad Boys For Life!! Great experience sans the expensive theater food.
Its a really nice theater connected to Rosedale mall. I only go here when I want to experience a movie in the best possible quality and experience because the tickets are about 20% more expensive than other places. If your a teen or are really into going to movies for dates, its a good place to go because there are several restaurants in close proximity.
Overall, a very outdated AMC. No reclining seats, no bar, mediocre refreshments. Also, over 25 minutes of previews and advertising AFTER the movies start time. For $10 a ticket, I would suggest a different location.
The location of the movie theater is a little crowded. But the mall has plenty of parking. We love to visit for $5 movies. Ive never been disappointed in the cleanliness. The hot food you can get is actually pretty decent.
Very clean and nice place. Staff were very nice. Enjoyed bad boys 3
If you like waiting in line 20 minutes for popcorn while your movie starts - this is the theatre for you!
Comfortable Seats. Good sound. Snack bar is expensive, though.
Good theatre, missing some of the amenities of even other AMCs like more comfortable seating, but nothing that seriously takes away from the experience.
Love the movies. But the last time I went there, there were men being chased by security up and down the halls and running through our theater. Not knowing what was going on, it had the whole theater in a panic. When the movie was over, the whole theater complex was swarmed with police and even evacuated the metro buses. No staff or security told us a thing and people just started running to their cars. Wont be coming back.
Watched uncut gems it was good the chairs in theater r kind of old but the stuff was very nice
Saw Frozen 2! The theater was clean and the movie played on time. All in all a great experience!
DONT LIKE THE MASK RULE AT ALL.
Great movie theater, with larger room. I love this place. My AMC card is so worth the price
I saw Is Genesis History? and Incredibles 2 here. Both good experiences.
The seats are not nearly as good as some other theaters. the food is really pricey and the butter tastes like you soaked a old shoe in water and then after one week put it in the butter dispenser, it’s so nasty
This was hands down the worst movie theater experience I have had, possibly ever. To start as you enter the building there are several massive lines of people in the entryway going several different ways. I stood in a line for a machine that is supposed to print out tickets if youve purchased them online. Whoever designed this place was quite bad at it. The actual front doors and walls are made entirely of glass which leads to two very serious problems, the first being that it creates a greenhouse effect which causes it to be extremely hot in this overly crowded entryway, so you not only have to stand and wait, but you have to do it with tons of people dripping sweat. The second issue is the the sun shining through the glass causes such a glare on the screens of the ticketing machines mentioned above that it makes it literally impossible to see whats on it. People were trying there hardest to hold up there arms or any objects they had with them to try to see to operate the machine, which is not only very frustrating but also caused it to take a very long time for anyone to retrieve their tickets. Now when you finally get into the building where the concessions are sold you now face many uncertain possible lines that are so long that you could miss a good portion of your movie if you choose to purchase anything, we ended up skipping it and heading into the movie with nothing, which really takes away from any good movie going experience. There is food and garbage all over the floor in the lobby, the theater itself and the restroom. The seat itself is horrible and very uncomfortable. The letters to tell you which row is which are written in black, are on the floor so that people couldnt find where their seats were. The theater lobby was at normal temperature, but the theater was so hot that I was sweating terribly just sitting there. It was completely awful. I highly recommend never going to this place.
Great movie theater if it was 2003 and every other theater didn’t have reclining seats.
This AMC is spacious, clean, nice, and the seats are well spread out. They have a nice selection of snacks as well. Also, the staff is friendly, and tonight, even though it was VERY busy, I spotted a staff member taking the time to give out Spider-Man toys to the kids seeing Spider-Man: Far From Home with their family! Very sweet.
The AMC 14 Rosedale Theater is beautiful and clean. They also sell really good popcorn. My dad and I saw They Shall Not Grow Old. A must see film as it looks back 100 years to WWI, but also looks forward by using cutting edge technology to restore deteriorated black and white film. Amazing look at brutality and humanity in the midst of war. Peter Jackson and crew are genius. Impressed that AMC is showing cutting-edge film. Much appreciated.
Nice. Clean. Seats do not recline, would be better with reclining seats
Easily accessible, wish they had seats that reclined.
Kinda pricey, good sizes for drinks and popcorn. although the butter you can add on your own is like water and smells/ tastes like a wet shoe after it’s eaten and spat out and then salted.
Great place to watch movies and make memories with loved ones and friends or just make memories for yourself
If I could give it less than a star I would. Horrible customer service and nobody is willing to help when there were issues or refund or offer anything. We paid in advance online but their kiosk wasnt working so we were late to our movie because of having to wait in line. We also checked with the theater before purchasing our tickets to make sure they had recliner seats and they informed us. And that bathrooms were so filthy, smelly and unkept that we couldnt even use them during a 3 hour movie. Save yourself a lot of disgust and avoid this place
