I loved Sea World I go here anytime Im on Gratiot. Its such an amazing place for aquatic life whether youre buying a fish or just going to look. Sea World offers a wide range from goldfish to sharks they have it all. I will also recommend going here for any questions on starting a salt water tank or even just a coral farm for that matter. Staff is always super friendly and willing to help. Photos below of some of their sea life.

Have bought several fish from here and continued to have problems and when I discuss this with the employees they make it seem like it’s always something with my tank even though my water tests fine. I recently bought guppies and now half my tank has been wiped out 5 days later and they won’t do nothing when clearly one do their fish has diseased my tank! Go somewhere else where they take proper care of their fish

I have loved going to this place since I was a little kid. Some things are a bit pricey for me (total penny pincher) but I love to walk around and see whats new. The staff is ALWAYS friendly and knowledgable. The store is always clean. I would recommend anyone go and visit.

TERRIBLE customer service from the owner. Very rude and uncompassionate. My 2 year old picked two fish from the same tank and when we got home we did as we were told when putting them in the tank... and they died the same day. I called and they gave every excuse as to what we did wrong and why they werent going to replace the fish. This was the first and last time we will go there. Shame. But the young man that helped us was amazing.

Terrible establishment. I have bought multiple fish from here and over half have come down with some sort of illness or died within a couple days of purchase. I understand that with fish, this sometimes happens. However, when we asked an employee about it, he became super defensive and accused us of not knowing how to run a tank and talked down to us. Extremely rude and immature. As they claim it is our fault, we have multiple other fish across 2 different aquariums from Sting Ray Bay and Tropical Treasures that are thriving and routinely outliving those from here. I strongly advise traveling either way down Gratiot and going to a place that actually cares, are good people, and have much healthier fish. Simply look at the number of fish in their tiny aquariums and it will tell you all you need to know.

Employees not wearing masks. I went to check out if they got new corals here but when I went back there I saw none of the employees wearing masks. They have signs not to get close to the tanks but dont seem do anything else to be safe. They don’t seem to care about their customers health or the community. Very disappointed.

I had a well established tank set up with about 6 small freshwater fish. I wanted to buy an algae eater so I got one here while I was buying some flowers. Within three to four days all my fish started dying off and now they are all dead. Everything in my water tested fine so I can only guess that the fish I brought home had some sort of disease. Now I have to start all over again. I would think twice about buying fish from here.. not to mention the guy who is usually working in the fish room is rude, unhelpful and un-knowledgeable. Stingray bay in Eastpointe is the best place to go and will have all of my business from now on.

Ive been going to this fish store for almost 5 years now. While they have a great selection of fish, their prices are WAY higher than any other fish store in an hour and a half driving radius. Its as though they are buying their stock at full retail price and doubling the price for their customers.While in there today I noticed Red eye royal plecos at 2 for $50! Fantastic fins sells these plus all their other royals at no more than $30. They also had some larger spotted royals for $100+ which sell for $65 at most at other stores. I also came across 2 lionhead goldfish for $50 each.... Critters in Allen park sell all the types found here for no more than $20 max. This list goes on. You WILL pay 2-3 times what the competition charges for the same fish.With that aside, their regular products such as fish food, frozen foods and fish supplies are fair prices (in line with their competitors). The store is nicely organized and they have a great inventory.As for the staff... I have never once visited this place and had a friendly experience here. Its odd... typically I find the opposite while visiting local pet fish stores but the staff at Sea World are just plain rude or lack the ability to interact with their customers in a friendly way. Every visit has felt unwelcoming.Sea World is about a 50 min drive for me. Sometimes Ill make the hike to go there to check out the great selection but always leave a bit disappointed. This store really could be awesome if prices were at least close to their competitors and service was friendlier.I hate leaving reviews like this but maybe things will change around there. If they do Ill change my review. If not, sadly ill have to frequent other local fish stores instead. With big box stores and all these other fish stores; Sea World needs to step up their game.

This place is incredible! Im definitely going to be making frequent visits & purchases at this business. Their product display & customer service are excellent.

Clean well organized and several decent prices on marine fish and components. I hadnt been here in a while and was pleased to see ask the fraqs which were very well organized and priced as well. It almost looks like theyre trying to get out of the Christmas decorations business and concentrate on fish, as three decorations were limited to one row at the front of the store. There were, however, still plenty of live wreaths and blankets and such on display and for sale outdoors.

The clerk was rude on the phone, but I went anyway after being told they had what I was looking for. The indoor plant area seemed in disarray. The outdoor plant area had nearly nothing labeled with pkant type or price. They didnt actually have what they told me they had in stock, and there were one side only political signs hung prominently for sale.Fortunately I found what I needed at Ray Weigands in Macomb instead. RW was much more pleasant an experience.

Went to find vegetable plants and found a wide variety to choose from. Very happy with my shopping trip.

Great fish store, but they have Aiptasia on there live rock, don’t buy there live rock. The aiptasia will grow all over your sand bed, and kill your corals & the aiptasia will suffocate your fish, they will die. Beware!

They have a lot of fish here. More than Ive seen in any LFS in the area. They werent busy and the staff was very friendly.

The African Cichlid’s are all juiced. Meaning the fish are given male hormones at a very young age to make them color up and make there fins grow longer. Makes all fish male and female look like males. One month after you get them home they loose all color and most die before they reach adulthood. If they do live they are sterile. But they do have a great selection of saltwater fish

Customer service was terrible each time I went! 3 tunes over all. He literally tossed the ink pen on the table when i had to sign for my purchase. I went out my way to be kind to him to make sure it want me. NOPE! None of them care for your business. The ONLY reason i have it 2 stars is their fish variety is better than most. Only go in there if you have no gas in your car

We askee d an employee a question about 1 and his reply was I dont know...we proceed to look around and went back to ask about a different fish and his reply was Im busy..so, we went to the front desk and asked the older gentleman to help us..he replied ask the employee in the fish room...ummmmm bye

I only give 3 stars because this place is so so expensive. However the fish tanks have lots of variety. Any where from fresh water to saltwater fish selection. The coral is beautiful the kids enjoyed just looking. They also have many other garden items ect.

Absolutely the best selection in terms of live freshwater fish. I havent been to all the stores in the area but I would be willing to bet you wont find one with a greater selection. Also the staff seems honest, and there was at least one knowledgeable staff member each time I have gone there so far. They also have a huge puffer fish. :D

I see a lot of others mentioning that the staff is unfriendly and true. While this was also true in my experience I also mention that they are knowledgeable and the health and variation of selection of their fish is impressive. I would recommend this store to anyone who is serious about fish keeping.

I went in for some fish and decorations for my 7yr old daughters new tank. Told them I had just got it and did the quick start 24 hours prior to coming in for the fish. They said 4 fish would be good and sold them to me. less than 24 hours and 2 died. When I went back to replace them they said they dont guarantee the fish and I should have waited a week. No one said that when I bought the fish to begin with and they are not cheap. I will NEVER be back.

I am just starting an aquarium and was just going for some small things. There was a lot more inside than I expected. Came home with more than I planned for. Great experience as well.

Wow! Cant believe I hadnt found this place sooner! I went for plants which i found many but spent more time with the fish, shark and seahorses. Incredible aquariums! No staff offered or asked us if we needed help but between the metal art, fish and plants...it was definitely a fun experience. Definitely will be back!

Holy cow unfortunately my phone died early in the trip but this fish store Greenhouse is so amazing monster tanks all the coral you could ever want great discus and some tropical also one of the largest selections of freshwater plants Ive seen in awhile

The owner is kind of mean, really bossy. Heard him yelling at the employees for asking him a simple question. But overall a good selection of fish & aquatic plants. Bought many fish from here, but most fish have ick. The employees are very nice. If you want a fish that they don’t have, there’s a sheet of paper that you can write on the front desk. Just write what fish you want and they’ll call you when they get it. Very helpful fish store but not so much on advice for beginners. I give it a 4 out fo 5.

This is the largest distributor of live fish in the entire state of Michigan. They have everything from tiny gold fish to foot long sharks ! I go there once weekly to see whats new. Jaw dropping selection like you cant imagine. Prices are competitive with others. Only reason I gave it a 4 star instead of 5 is due to poor customer service. Once you walk into the front door you are on your own. It is extremely unlikely that you would ever be greeted upon entering. Definitely not the place to go if you are looking for advice. This is a much better store for people who have experience in the aquarium hobby.

Excellent selection of fish, plants, and other aquarium supplies. The fish all look healthy and well cared for, and the staff are helpful and informed. The atmosphere isnt the cleanest or perfectly kept, but the tanks are all well-kept so you can tell they care about the animals. A great place to buy or just to explore!

I loved the variety of exotic fish! Everything was well maintained and very clean.We did purchase a metal lawn art piece as well as some fresh veggies. The biggest zuchinni I have ever seen for just $2.

Great little Hidden Gem they have phenomenal selection of all different kinds of fish both freshwater and saltwater and a bunch of accessories and garden decorations. I would recommend popping in to browse around if you have some extra time on your hands.

Staff is extremely knowledgeable and friendly and the prices are all great. This place really has to be seen to be believed when it comes to variety and how well kept every single tank is. I have never been to a fish store with tanks as well kept and fish as healthy looking as they have here and although they are a bit out of my way I will be using them for all my aquarium needs.

They sell fish that are juiced up on hormones which falsely make the fish appear more colorful until the hormones wear off. Not acceptable. No pet store should carry and contribute to fish that are being pumped full of hormones. Shady and dishonest

Was happy when i saw the new owners. They realy inproved thier saltwater room. But after going a few times the bad attitude of owner i wont be back. He acts like customers are a inconvenience. Also his staff seem to share that view.

Went here for some fresh water fish. They have a great selection, and also large selection of salt water fish. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Also great place for metal yard art, Christmas decor. Always fun walking around here.

3 out of 3 fish I bought there died with in a month, sunken bellies. I tried treat for parasites but was to late.All 12 of my other fish bought else where are still healthy. I change a third of my water weekly, followed by testing. My water is perfect.Thank you flower barn for screwing me out of 45 bucks. Sincerely a in happy customer.Who will spread the word about your juiced up fish too.

My boyfriend and I came here for pet rats to raise together, one of my good friends recommended this place saying she got some of her best pet rats here. When we went in, we held one of the rats and immediately fell in love with her. We asked to hold the other one in the cage, and the employee sorta blew us off casually, and proceeded to feed the other animals in his room. We were so happy though that we just bought them both since they were already companions and didnt want to separate them. We bought some food to start off and a water bottle and were impressed at the cheap prices.This is where they went wrong. The rats both had severe upper repertory infections, the employee neglected to tell us that the other rat in the cage was aggressive (Ive never had any other rat that was like this! - But he had to have known because he ignored us when we asked if we could hold her as well). The rats infections were caused by the bedding that they were in - pine wood shavings. Rats are highly allergic to pine. We also discovered that the water bottle was broken.Bottom line: DO NOT BUY YOUR PETS OR PET SUPPLIES HERE EXCEPT FOOD, Only buy these rats if youre purchasing them as snake food, since theyre only 4 dollars each.

Do not listen to the hate. If you are a serious or beginning aquarist this should be your first ( if not only) stop. Sure the staff may occupied at times but thats because their hands are full taking awesome care of their fish! Personally Id rather purchase a good product from a unfriendly salesman than a substandard product from a nice guy. And these people are not rude by any means. Best fish room by far in all metro Detroit.

This place is awesome and has been as long as I can remember. The folks in the aquatics area are super helpful, to the point that the guy even rearranged an entire tank hunting down ghost shrimp for me. He spent a good 10-15 minutes just to find and catch me the shrimp that are like 50 cents each. The purchase probably didnt even pay for the time he invested.There is an older gentleman in the aquatics area that is super knowledgeable and helped me with multiple tanks now. He will be honest with you and if your tank is unacceptable for the fish you are trying to get, hell probably attempt to talk you out of it, and suggest other options.This place is also cleaner than any other place around. I wonder if people went in during construction and assume thats what its always like? Not sure anyways... Their display tanks are incredible with some very exotic and expensive fish. These are not fish that would thrive in a place that didnt keep up on maintenance.

Best selection of fish in the eastern suburbs by a long shot. They not only carry the usual species found in every other aquarium store, but also others. I feel as though they nearly filled the hole left by Wet Thumb Aquatics, which was the gold standard for cichlids for quite a number of years.

Regarding building an aquarium, VERY expensive and VERY limited selection on equipment. Regarding fish: Saltwater selection is descent but often mislabeled. I once asked 3 individuals working in the fish section what a specific fish was and all 3 of them told me it was something I KNEW not to be true as my friend use to raise them. I had to get the owner and spend 30 minutes on google to finally figure it out. Very large freshwater selection, near impossible to get something you want unless they regularly stock it though. I live 15 minutes away and will NOT be returning. I will be driving all the way to Clarkston to shop at a REAL LFS. One that will order what you need AND call you to let you know its in. In my 30 years in the hobby, I have NEVER heard of a LFS that wont call their customer to let them know that their special order is in...despicable. I gave them 2 stars because they do have a large freshwater and an adequate saltwater selection and their staff is very friendly. As far as the nursery goes, I have no idea how well that is maintained.

Its a nice store and it really big, but the staff is really inexperienced in tropical fish and coral. They do have a lot of coral, but nothing with great good color, theyre mostly bland they do have a nice selection of fish at decent prices, but like at anywhere fish store, inspect the fish very carefully and take the time to do so to make sure it dont have ick and the fins are not damaged because if you dont and you buy a sick or damaged fish then its your fault Im not the stores.

Good selection of fish; salt or freshwater. Decent selection of hardscape for aquascaping, but could be better priced; not overly expensive though like other fish stores in the metro Detroit area. Fish tanks are a little overpriced here though, like everywhere else. The staff are nice and helpful. Some are very knowledgeable and some are just there to work, just depends on who run into. But overall a positive experience here and will definitely be returning for my hobby.

New owners with a drive to make this a great aquarium store. Completely remade the displays. 10,000 gallons of display tanks. Huge selection of freshwater fish. Huge space for saltwater fish and coral, but still getting the inventory filled. Large selection of healthy looking plants. This may challenge Kees for the place to go for fish needs.

I completely love this place. Stopped in one day while killing time and was pleasantly surprised. Everything you can imagine for a salt water aquarium is in this one place. They even have sting reys and a shark! Multiple coral, eels and some of the most beautiful starfish youve ever seen! And thats not even including the front of the store that has plants and everything for your yard and or garden. I cant say enough good things about this establishment And the people in it.
