Legend has it that the ancient peoples of Rolla used unknown techniques to lift these multi ton rocks, possibly with the help of interstellar beings.Just kidding, according to Missouri S&Ts website, Located on the northwest edge of campus, this monument is open to the public and features approximately 160 tons of granite. It was built by students and faculty using our waterjet equipment to cut pieces of granite to the proper dimensions and arranging them for astronomical purposes.
Freaking amazing, love this place. The stones line up with solstices and equinoxes and such. Really cool to think about the meaning behind the original
Very kool stop. Learned a few interesting things
Fun quick visit. Looked around for 5min then left
Such a beautiful spot! Can take very nice pictures. Never crowded. Can even walk your dog to it to have fun.
It was a peaceful place for me to celebrate Superhuman Sunday on my tour Across America to wipe out depression 401 days debilitation free and counting
It is a good place to take photos.
Good school
Such an amazing place!!
Great experience. Great place to sit and ponder the world...or maybe just to read a book. A Route 66, NEED to see.
It is of some interest, and can be easily spotted from the main street through town. Parking is free. Read all information postings. It is the best and only replica in town. Like most replicate offerings it is like a toy car compared to a real car.
There is interesting information on the plaques and displays. It is definately not a replica, but a modern example of what ancient cultures built.
This was very informative. What you dont know, you learn.p
Rollas half-scale, working Stonehenge is not nearly as famous as it deserves to be--- especially since it is situated on Route 66 in a college town devoted to St. Patricks Day. Add it to your road trip bucket list for sure!
Was truly cool to see
Fun little stop. Small but neat.
Some great stones here yo
Its a cool place to swing by, if you have a few moments to waste. The campus itself is pretty cool wish I had time to explore the campus.
This landmark is situated right across the street from Enterprise Rent-A-Car. I think its one of the coolest things in Rolla. If youre considering visiting, you might want to see if the Geology or Metallurgy department is hosting a public event.
Mini replica of Stonehenge in Rolla, MO. Free to see and walk around.
Fun installation along Route 66. A functioning model of Stonehenge.
Very nice. Just dont stand on the analemma.
Very cool, recommend stopping by if you are at Missouri S&T.
Beautifully maintained structure.
Accidentally went here instead of to the one in the UK. I give Google Maps zero stars
Parking in school lot small
A nice small scale version of Stonehenge!
Nice place
Studied in VH McNutt Hall, the building behind which Stonehenge was built. It is pretty cool as it was a joint effort by different departments in the university to get the geometry, astronomical aspects, etc correct.Theres also a windmill near it, also a project of the university.
Interesting!
An excellent Stonehenge. Best in Rolla
Just like being in England, without the air travel! Wish we had known about this during the calendar events!
A replica similar to the one in the UK, Lovely
Enjoyed learning about Stonehenge
Hidden gem
Its a mini Stonehenge! Very cool!
The feeling of being back in ancient times and reading time the way they did
No parking
