Plentiful parking in a gravel lot just off the roadway. A small playground is at the bottom of the hill with two small play areas by age with a good amount of benches and picnic tables available. There is a covered picnic area with a half dozen tables. There is a set of swings past the picnic shelter. Plenty of trails around the perimeter. The mens room was out of soap and the grass was in need of being cut.
This is a great place to exercise too you can do the hill next to the tennis courts meeting you can walk or run up and then do an exercise on the concrete pad plus it’s got great trails running in two different areas for your kids to play at the park! Check out the running trail as it cuts through to Virginia Western it’s a great cuts through for runs.I’m sold on this like I am selling houses!
A good place to go to relax and enjoy the hikes. They also have a frisbee golf course if one is interested in playing
Very crowded. Most people we saw were not wearing face coverings. Grass was a bit high in case you had to get off the narrow path. To just sit in your vehicle and watch people, it was good.
Loved the walk there!! It is beautiful this time of year.
Me (after parking the car): I dont know why people recommend this park for a hike.Me (after waking around the park): I cant wait to come back and explore some more!My first impression, the view from the parking lot and walking along Brambleton, was less than enthusiastic. But once we crossed the bridge where the Stream Trail starts, I loved it. There are more trails to explore than the map in the parking lot shows. The stream is lovely and peaceful. Brambleton traffic can still be heard, but it feels like you left it way behind. The loop walk is suitable for small children (but not strollers) because you can keep it to a mile and it is mostly flat. I cant wait to go back when there are leaves on the trees and explore the Hillside Trail.
Had a nice walk around the park and swung on the swings. Very clean well kept up park!!
Wonderful little park for a walk in the woods and a cute playground for the kids. They also had fun playing in the stream.
Nice park and walking trails. Easily accessible too.
Awesome, outdoor space with kids playground, picnic tables & a calm river running thru it.
Good place for kids to play and go on a hike
Nice park with plenty of activities. Old 9 hole disc golf course still hanging on. Many different trails line the woods around the park, most of them are in the woods across the creek. There are 2 bridges crossing the creek at each end of the park. Kids playground with swings beside a shelter including multiple picnic tables and grill. Theres 2 tennis courts at top of park along with a newer picnic shelter. The Murray Run greenway runs through this park. There are bathroom facilities near the parking lot and down the hill beside the creek. This park will flood pretty bad with considerable rain creating dangerous conditions near the creek.
We went on a hike and then the kids played in the stream. So much fun
Looks can be deceiving. This park may look like a basic place where the only thing to do is play Frisbee golf or some other yuppie thing, but theres a surprisingly complex and interesting series of nature trails!
Well kept, beautiful nature spots, lots of trails.
Lots of old growth trees along the trails.
Great walking and running trail. River views are great. Great park for kids to play and plenty of space for the pets to run.
Serene and relaxing
This park is a gem. The paths are well laid out that anyone can enjoy a beautiful walk or run. Plenty of space & activities for the kiddos.
Great place to spend the day with the family
It was very nice & have plenty of shade
Best Elementary School on the City! Wish I went to this place as a child, VA education is on point! This schools STEAM Program is super amazing! Apply NOW get you child here! Principal, Tammy Brown, you are doing FANTASTIC, please do not stop you hard work and dedication to my childs education, current students and future generations to come!
It is a nice park with plenty of walking trails. It also has a really nice playground set for 2-5 year olds and a separate set for older children. The only downside is that the walkway to the playgrounds from the parking lot is steep with a rutted gravel path. It is not recommended to bring a stroller down to the playgrounds.
Good place for a short dog walk, not sure how the longer trails work out
Nothing bad to say. Quiet with small pavilion with a playground and walking trails
Clean safe
Trails are clearly marked with spray paint and markers, but the map was a little frustrating to get a good grip on where everything was located. Beware of trails off the beaten path!
It is a great place to take the family or just go on a walk has great walking paths and views.yal must try the spring water it is safe to drink
Neat trails for hiking and mountain biking
Nice tennis courts, playground, and path for dog walking
Great hiking trails with a park for the kiddos
Nice short trails and frisbee golf, as well as a creek and picnic shelter.
My dog Skylar my love and soul mate loves Fishburn Park. We both find joy and peace every day when we walk in the beauty of the beautiful Fishburn Park.
Nice trails but not very long. good for hiking but not running. found a nice view of the trail by the college.
In town but with an out-of-town feel.
Simple little open space with a stream, shelter, a couple picnic tables, playground for toddlers and another for older kids. Several paths criss cross the park asking the steam and a spur goes to the Greenway. There is also a disc golf course. Only real drawback would be that the park sits much lower than the parking lot. If youre not very mobile this could limit your enjoyment.
Fun place to take the dogos
I often get my exercise done at Fishburn Park. I come at random times during the week, never on a fixed schedule due to my work. I always come alone, because I enjoy exercising at my own pace. The park is such a nice park and I have grown to really like it. The people who come are always nice to me and say hello and wave. I will be coming to this park for a very long time.
Dont come here to play disc golf...geass was extremely high, goals in poor shape, no map to show where to start and I never seen in throw boxes....could be good if all these things were addressed....Im only speaking of the disc golf course, not the rest of park.
The frisbee golf course is completely overgrown. If you are not going to maintain it, take the course out.
Great park that provides a playground with amenities for all elementary and preschool ages, picnic benches and shelter, swing area, creek and hiking trail access, easy access from anywhere in the city with a natural barrier to the street by being located at the bottom of a small valley. This is one of our favorite places to take our children so they can run and play as though they are in the middle of the country while being only a 5 minute drive or 20 minute walk from our house in the city!
Nice clean park. Nice trails. Needs work in the playground department. And flooding is also an issue here.
Beautiful trees and trails. Very clean covered picnic table area and barbecue
Trail leads back and forth over creek, another marked trail around perimeter on higher ground. Youd never know the depth just driving by...
A great get away park from the normal everyday life or for just a simple walk to get out and moving. Trails for the family or those solo walks we all need from time to time. But dont just focused on the path ahead. There is a lot of beauty all year long. From bugs and plants to deer and birds of many kinds of songs. The entire experience is one big nature call to the ones who are just starting to hike. Enjoy every step you take and just make sure you take your disposables back with you to keep the experience as great for you as to others.
Some construction going on around bridge, but other wise nice and clean.
Nice trails but dont expect to play disc golf here
This park is very nice. It has a nice big hill for sledding, and a trail. We went in the snow, so we couldnt explore the trail. The creek is majestic and beautiful
Great park. There is a stream there which you can play in. There is some good hiking trails there. There is also a nice playground with a swing set. Also there is a pavilion there with grills. Lastly there is a good frisbee golf course there, it is pretty long but I dont know how many there are.
Nice trail. Simple but very nice. Good little hike in the middle of the city! Will go back.
Fishburn Park is a great local park to take the kids or dog to. I have loved walking the trail through the woods since I was a kid. The pavilion at the bottom of the hill provides a place to escape the elements and enjoy some food. You can also enjoy a round of tennis on one of two available courts. Kudos to the city for fixing up the parking lot and for building new bathrooms and a second pavilion at the top of the hill!
Park near the college with a couple small trails near a stream.
This park is amazing. Multiple trails, playground, restrooms, water fountains, tennis courts, picnic tables, grill, and beautiful nature.
Frisbee golf, great trails to run and walk on. Scenic spot in the middle of the city!
This park has good open places and trails in the woods.
Perfect for a jog after work.
Between the creek, the two playgrounds, tennis courts, shelters, and wide open spaces this is my favorite park in Roanoke.
We was there with Brandon Oaks picking up litter.
Very safe park. New playground equipment. Plenty of trails, though some need some work mostly trails in the woods. Disc golf course, very nice people and quiet.
Disc golf is on the other side of the tennis courts
My wife and kids...had a blast on the trails...bust the disc golf not so much...no launching pads....but still great time
This is a good place to bring kids or dogs, theres lots of green grasses to play in and you can see virtually everything from on top of the hill. They also have tennis courts which is great or if you just want to read and relax there are two pavilions that provide shade and a nice view.
New shelter and restrooms, plenty of space for the family to play and enjoy the outdoors. Disc golf and maintained trails for hiking. Thank you Roanoke Parks and Recreation!
Great place to get away from city life for a few minutes. I love to ride the trails here.
Beautiful park with hiking trails, tennis courts, a frisbee golf course, playgrounds, and pavilions.
Great local park
One of our favorite parks! Great little trail through the woods and spots to splash in the water.
Nice frisbee golf course, but we couldnt find the 8th tee.
Nice park. It has tennis courts, free parking lot, a playground, trail, covered pavilion, and disc golf course. I frequently come here for the disc golf. They have nine holes of average difficulty. Most of the holes are in open areas. For some, if you veer off to one side, you can lose a disc in the creek/brush. The trail run through some of the holes, which can cause you to wait for people to pass.
A really difficult disc golf course but absolutely worth it for the avid disc golfer
Great little park. Nice spot to get some nature during the middle of the day
Love this park! A great place to take kids and pets! Great hiking trails!
Beautiful park. Great dirt trials for a shot hike with a nice babbling brook!
Its a nice park and I dont see any thing wrong with it.
Incredible ️ it.
It has trails that very well kept and great for walking anytime of the year
Great park! Hiking, mtn biking, cute little creek, playground, pavilion, disc golf course; what a treasure!
Beautiful park with lots of open spaces and a hiking path along Murray Run Creek.
Great little disc golf course! Beautiful park!
Loved all the trails...even offers disc golf
Nice par 3 9 hole disc golf course
Nice places to take pets and children.
On the Murray Run Greenway
Nice clean park with very good walking trails
Park with playground, picnic area, trails and a disc golf course.
Beautiful creek
Nice place to walk/run trails
The park is maintained pretty well, and I marked.
Nice wooded walking trail and a disk golf course along a creek as well as the usual park amemades.
