Recently bought a Corn Snake. Minutes after being there we were Welcomed by a Employee named( Josh ). He was Extremely Helpful, Knew so much, gave us the whole run down about the do’s and don’t. This was our First time at this place, but everyone says such great things! I know why, Customer Service is OUTSTANDING. Definitely will be back.

Exotics & Aquatics has a great selection of fresh water and salt water aquatic fish and invertebrates. If your looking for neocaridina or caridina shrimps youll be pleased with the variety and health of their shrimps. They also have a great selection of reptiles, birds, amphibians and invertebrates! Friendly staff and clean store!

The store itself was nice and had a lot of animals and supplies. I was extremely disappointed with 0 masks being worn by the staff or other customers.

Excellent place to shop for owners of exotic pets. Their fish tanks are amazingly clean and healthy. They also sell reptiles and variety of large birds. Their new location has allowed them to extend their stock.

Great local pet store with a wide variety of just about everything. I mainly go in for the well-priced frozen mice/rats and feeder insects but then I usually get distracted by everything else once I get through the door. The reptiles can be a bit overpriced at times but they are healthy and well taken care of. The fish section is amazing, and the natural tank decoration supplies might be my favorite part right now since they have added even more of a selection with the move. The larger selection of terrariums is also a good result of the move, and I hope they continue to add more reptile supplies as they get settled in. I dont spend as much time in the bird and small mammal sections but the animals there always look healthy and well taken care of as well. My favorite pet store in Roanoke!

Purchased two Lionhead rabbits from here a few months ago at separate times. They are just the cutest little things that I could ever ask for. Very pleased with them. I always love to go in and see what they have at different times

I dropped in today. 10-12 people in the shop no one had a mask on. Not one, employees included. No social distancing. Reprehensible. That is my last visit.

Best pet place around

Did not have any gerbils or hamsters, but they do seem to have a good supply of equipment and toys for birds and small animals.

Drove over 30 minutes today just to see their saltwater fish selection. My wife & I literally stood there for about 15 minutes while the workers basically ignored us. The selection is terrible to say the least, and I wont bother to waste my time or gas to visit this little hole in the wall establishment again.

Super awesome place with even greater staff. They keep it well maintained. All of the animal always seem to be in great condition. They all seem to be very knowledgeable as well. Great place for reptiles, fish, birds, and much more. As well as supplies. I definitely recommend checking them out. Even if its to just see the what they have to offer.

Its just ok. In terms of fresh water fish, it leaves a lot to be desired. Variety and quantity are scant at best. I dont feel the need to go back.

Great prices,very knowledgeable staff,and SUPER cool exotic selection of pets! I bought my daughter an alligator gar from there(off the show River Monsters)for only 20 bucks! Unfortunately,my albino african clawed frog ate it. But.....that is no fault of the stores. I highly recommend!

Came here to pick up Orijen dog food but they only have the one made in the Kentucky plant so we had to order tundra the one made in the Canadian plant should be in in 2 weeks.I just loved all the big parrots there they were all very friendly and just so cute and funny.Wonderful selection of both saltwater and freshwater fish and reptiles.

Great pet store, always very knowledgeable and friendly. The animals all get good care and handling, and you know youre buying from a reputable seller who actually cares about your animals. They also have a bit more variety of stuff that you cant find at chain pet stores. Fun to stop in from time to time even if you dont need anything.

They are so friendly and so nice to talk to, they answer any questions you may have. Walking in and seeing all the animals can just make your day and leaving with a furry, scaly or feathery friend is so much better from a local, friendly shop.

Bought 3 fish on my way home 2 out of 3 died so I say they got to do something I’m a loyal customer, no I am completely disrespected by staff. They are just mad they have to clean poop all day just pathetic, and this is what you get when you come to this dump called exotics and aquatics..pathetic

DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THIS PLACE! My son purchased a chameleon from here a few days ago. They knew it was sickly but still sold it to him at full price anyway. My son is experienced with keeping reptiles and did his best to save him from the severe dehydration it experienced while in the care of inept keepers. Unfortunately, it died after a week.When he called them to see what they could do, they simply told him that he signed a waiver that once it leaves the store, tough luck. Selling a $100 reptile that is on deaths doorstep to a boy on his birthday is a horrible way to do business. He was crushed and they didnt offer anything to try to make it right. At least the big box stores offer guarantees for their sickly reptiles. Better off dealing with them or purchasing from a reputable online source.Exotics and Aquatics, you should be ashamed. You stole my sons birthday money. If you cant sell healthy animals in an ethical way, maybe you should try another line of business.

Took my kids here with a friend who had purchased animals here before. Even though we didnt purchase anything today the staff was awesome. Allowed my kids to examine/hold many of the animals. Even let my five year old pet a python.

Best pet store in Roanoke. They care about all the creatures they sell. The store was so neat and clean. The owners are the most wonderful people. Kind and considerate, they care about where there creatures are going. They love them all. The entire staff was a pleasure to work with. Thanks to all.

This is a friendly place. Filled with knowledgeable people.If you need feeder bugs or worms. This is your go to place. Quantity, quality, and cost. Are all better or equal to any place else. Hard to find black worms, crickets, roaches, red Wigglers, horn worms...HERE!If you have a saltwater tank and need treated water or help, this is your go to place!

Some staff are amazing.. some stand behind counter and give you the stink eye. If you get the right person, then you will have a knowledgeable and great experience from a small town shop.

Usually a very nice store to go to, but the past couple of chinchillas there have been without any chew toys which is bad for their dental health. One chinchilla was there for at least three weeks and she never had toys. The only toy she ended up receiving I had purchased for her because I couldn’t take seeing her chew on the plastic cage tray anymore. I’ve asked the employees there if they could put wooden chews in the cages for the chinchillas and it has yet to happen. I’m not going to support a place that neglects to give their animals the required enrichment and care. One of the blonde female employees was really rude when I asked her if the chinchilla had any toys and asked me what rodents I have. I said chinchillas and she said that chinchillas make nice coats and walked away. It was an inappropriate thing to say, joking or not (which the employee was not joking).

Be careful. I bought two plants for my aquarium from here recently. At least one plant was diseased and it killed half of my fish. We will not be going back.

Not a lot of exotics unless you count the birds I guess. They have the same animals that you can find at any local PetCo.

One of the few places I trust to purchase my fish. The staff know a lot about all kinds of animals and products. Would recommend to anyone in the area.

Its always great coming here! The employees are so nice and so willing to let you hold any of the animals. They all know so much about all the animals they have. I wish they had more sugar glider stuff but just having somewhere in town that has some is better than ordering everything

This is our staple pet store. Great variety of feeder insects and very knowledgeable staff. When we first got our chameleon, one of the staff members was so helpful in getting us set up and explaining our girls unique needs. They have a huge array of fish, reptiles, birds, bunnies, ferrits, etc. You name it, they probably have it. Fantastic place and fantastic staff.

Decent selection of reptiles, birds, and small mammals. Good selection of fish as well. They can help you get anything you need to set a home for your new pet and support you with supplies you may/will need.Most everything is fair priced.I would recommend checking them out before you go to petsmart.Friendly staff is present or was the day I was there.

Brought my husband here to check out the Tarantulas, but was very disappointed by the selection. As we get in the car my husband made comments on how a few of the ones they had on hand did not have their needs met in regards to pet holes. The birds seemed well taken care of, however the prices were outrageous. The one guy taking care of the birds seemed knowledgeable and nice, but the other kid behind the counter was just there...

So I have spent quite a few dollars in this store, I went by there last weekend and bought a co2 difuser for my aquarium. I dont check it and when I get home and take it out of the box it is broke(made of glass). I didnt take it back until today because I live a good ways from the store. It has been only seven days and i took it back and had the receipt. I only wanted to have it replaced. Salesperson #1 pulled it out and looked at it and then went and showed it to salesperson #2. Salesperson #2 brings it back to counter and tells me it was fine when he sold it to me, he didnt even sale it to me, salesperson 1 sold it to me. He then refuses to exchange it for me, even though I had my receipt. This peice was 20 dollars and the least they could do was exchange it for me. They basically made me look like a liar and that is something I am not. I will not go back to this place and would definitely not recommend it to anyone else.

They deal with local breeders, which is a huge plus. I found my beautiful Bengal cat there. They have a nice variety of exotic animals.

I love this place. They always greet me with a smile and get what I need. I will come out of my way to come here even though I live in Salem since that store cant fulfill anyones needs. Thank you for being there!

If you are wanting to adopt a bird, small furry animal, fish, lizard, or snake, this is the place to go! The birds (macaws and cockatoo)are out on perches and are very well mannered--some even talk! The small animals are well cared for and the selection of snakes is amazing (there is no correlation between the two--small furry animals are pets, not food ) Highly recommend!

Went there for the first time today. Great selection on aquarium supplies and fish. Been looking for the right piece of driftwood for months and found it. Highly recommend. Customer service outstanding. You will not be disappointed. Very friendly atmosphere.
