No one answers the phone, I went their and the Dockmaster told me they are out of business.
This is a great way to enjoy boating, especially if you are a first time boater and you want to find out if boating is for you. The staff is friendly, the location is perfect, and you get a hassle free boating experience. Especially when you join the Yacht Club you have access to large boats you could never rent anywhere else.Yes, it is true, you have to book way in advance to get a boat for the weekend. Yes, some of the boats are a little run down, mostly because of some members treating them like sh...! But you always have to consider how much (or little) you pay per month. If you would own one of those boats you would pay 20 times the amount just on maintenance and you would have all the hassle of boat ownership. We had wonderful days on the water around Peanut Island with our family.Martin Schaefer
This is the second time this has happened to us at this boat club. Other members who are not satisfied-please reach out to us, we would like to unite.
Went out of business! They transferred our memberships to another company with significantly less benefits & different locations and still hasnt even communicate this to their members. Large sums of money were paid upfront for long term contracts and expectations. Lots of members are very upset at this.
The guys on the dock are very helpful. Boats are fueled up, ready and waiting in the water. Never been stuck out on the water after 4 years of weekly use, always in the ocean..... pretty good I would say. Are the boats new? No...... but at least there is a large choice available. Some clubs limited to 22 ft. boats.Im sure theyll be adding some additions to the fleet soon. Just need to improve the way they take reservations...as its a tight window for calling in. All-in-all. ... its a great option if you dont want to be a boat owner....lol. I owned a marina for 25 years on Long Island and made a good living at it, taking care of 250 owners every year. I could easily own a boat in Florida, but with this option ...... WHY ?
Had a great time on the water today! Demetrius always helps our family get out on the water! The Palm Beach Boat Clube has been the best purchase I can think of for boat ownership! I have owned 2 other boats before becoming a member.
A scam from top to bottom run by a crook.
For the last 4 years, I have belonged to the Palm Beach boat club and I must say that service has been great! Everyone on the team is very friendly and accommodating. The club has been flexible with reservations and let you keep the boat late or overnight.
The Boat Club or Cruiser Club is over the top in convenient no hassle fun on the water. The way boating was meant to be ! Get out there on Peanut Isl. and enjoy the FL lifestyle like we do every weekend
Always a great time at the boat club and as usual the staff was awesome! I had family in town and we had a fantastic day on the water. Making memories ; ) Thank you Palm Beach Boat Club!!!
Ive been a member since August 2016 and am extremely happy to be a member of what I consider to be the best boat club Ive ever been a member of, and that includes 2 other clubs that I had been a member of for 20 years. Its simple to book reservations. The entire staff are highly competent and courteous, and the boats that Ive been on are safe and completely perfect for my fishing needs. Once in a while, theres a minor malfunction, but nothing serious. Having owned boats in New York and California for many years, this club is by far the best value for your money when it comes to being able to enjoy boating. If there was a 10 star rating, I would go that high.
Need more fishing boats. Always booked up. I do like the club though.
We are in our first year with the Palm Beach Boat Club. We chose to go with the boat club after owning a few boats, and looking for our next boat. We were getting to the point of spending to much time with maintenance, towing, time is to valuable. Our experience has been great with the boat club! Everyone there is friendly and knowledgeable about the area. When you arive they greet you with a smile fill out a float plan and then proceed to help you get your things on the boat. When you come back they are waiting on the dock to catch your lines and help unload. They re fuel while your spraying down your rods and cleaning your fish with a very convenient fish and cleaning station.I personally feel this is a great way to be able to enjoy many styles and types of boats to cater to our needs as we see fit.Reservations are easy were lucky being my wife and I have a couple week days off most weeks to steer clear of the weekend warriors. Boats have been available every time I go to make a reservation. We are always looking forward to the next boat trip. I wouldnt have it any other way now that I know now what Ive learned after owning many boats to using a boat club I feel much less stress and able to center in on family vs the logistical nightmare that can occur most times using the boats.Ok.. Ive said enough. Fair Winds and following Seas!
Jeffrey and I have been members of The Palm Beach Boat Club since March, 2012. The staff seems to remain the same (for the most part) and are all respectably nice people. The fleet of boats offered seem to come and go, but as long as we can choose boats from an extensive variety of options which were first offered when we signed our agreement, all will remain well.Just remember, most boat club members were not born from a long line of charter fishing captains! Some boaters, at best, can barely tie a bow line correctly to a cleat without the possibility of drifting away! Please keep up the good work guys and girls. Its always nice to be a part of a solid boat membership.
Enjoyed the club when we first signed on, but this year it seems to take numerous weeks (over 6 weeks!!) to get a reservation, and then being limited to 4 reservations at a time is difficult. It seems there are just too many members and not enough boats to go around and weve also started to notice the boats are not being maintained as well as they once were. I hope the company increases their boat fleet to accommodate their growth because the club has been a lovely addition to our Florida lifestyle. If I have to make reservations for a boat 6 - 8 weeks out and cant make the next reservation until I use 1 of the 4 reservations, its not worth the monthly fee.
This is the real Rob Adams and my wife and I have been members for six years and have truly enjoyed the experience. Being able reliably to take friends and family fishing or just cruising around without the worry of maintenance, the cost of storage and the hours of clean-up afterward is a blessing. Naturally there will be times when things do not go as planned and boats may break down or we dont get our names back on the list quickly enough and may have to wait longer, but this boat club has a great staff who are always doing their very best to ensure we are happy members. We highly recommend The Palm Beach Boat Club to any serious fisherman or those who enjoy boating.
I have been a member of Palm Beach Boat Club for 9 years and I have never had anything less than a great experience. Chris, the owner, is very accommodating and an overall great guy who really cares about the safety of his members- so much so that my wife and I often see him on the local news stations doing boating safety clips for the general public. All you have to do is plan your date ahead of time and show up. Highly recommend it!
If you are looking for cheap, this is the place. I joined the M-Th plan. Good points - (a) inexpensive, (b) not much trouble getting a boat, (c) the boats floated and the motors ran. The bad - (a) almost nothing worked on most of the center console boats I took out over 6 months. Could not read the electronics, screen glazed over, hoses not working, etc. etc. Two things to be aware of (1) - they are not part of the storage facility you see there. They simply store the boats there. (2) They will not let you out of the contract so if you are unhappy be prepared to forfeit your initiation fee and have cancellation provisions enforced. I ended up buying a boat and will store it elsewhere since the area is not the best.
My wife and i have been members of the club for about 7 or 8 years now and we absolutely love the club. We have both boated our entire lives and this is by far the best and most convenient way to enjoy the water. There are multiple levels of membership available, with every style and type of boat you can imagine. If youve been thinking about joining a club or buying a boat, come down to Palm Beach Boat Club and see what its all about. Youll be glad you did.
I have been a member of Freedom Boat Club for 5 years and it has been a terrific experience. The club has enabled me to use boats I otherwise could never afford to have. They have a boat for everyone and you can choose boats which enable you to manage to cost of fuel which is very high as we all know. The club will train you on how to operate the boats (very skilled people work at club) before you use. There are levels of membership I have a yacht club membership which I am glad I got because the bigger boats are very good if you have a group of people or you want one of the larger fishing boats. Was very hesitant to join but glad I did so I recommend the club to all my friends some who have joined. I hope to continue with the club for many more years and good memories.
Everyone is so friendly and helpful at the Boat Club it makes it a joy to take a boat out on the water
Boats need repair and upkeep. Usually have boats available. Price and location are great. Staff is great
I paid $15,000 to be a yacht club member 6 years ago. Chris Anders removed the reciprocity with Freedom Boat Clubs first. Then he added so many members that we now have to book 4 months in advance to get a weekend reservation. And this year, he has gotten rid of nearly all the yachts and the 2 remaining ones are out of commission for an indefinite period. Any one who joins this deteriorating club is tossing their money away.
I have dealt with people all of my life and sometimes they really shock you, this is one of those times. After approaching Cris and his staff regarding our need to vacate the marina for the hurricane,we were not prepared as my company helps service boats and that week we were to busy to get prepared ourselves. I approached Cris and he offered financial assistance, 5 gallon water bottles and a quick recommendation get to the bank your low on time. I made it riding the storm at 90 plus winds and I made it back less a few things my dingy and anchor system. Cris personally went with two of his best captains and recovered my anchor which I was to tired to pull up. The Palm Beach boat club loaned me a kayak to get back . lol I didnt buy a membership or rent a boat but I know now, if I needed to I would trust The Palm Beach Boat Club no matter what. Helping when it counts the most? People to do business with. Sincerely captain 58 BaddKidd Greg Diesel West Palm Beach Florida.
This is a great boat club! They have so many boats. What I like is when you have a yacht club membership you have access to all of the boats. The facility is very clean, people are friendly and professional and most importantly the boats are in good condition and clean. I highly recommend this place.
I moved down to florida 3 years ago thinking how wonderful it would be to join a boat club. So when I had a chance to purchase the membership from a member who was selling their membership for a pretty good deal, I didnt hesitate and signed up. Big, big mistake. There customer service is horrible. And the boat was in such bad shape. After paying membership for 5 months I finally had time and had good enough weather to take out a boat for very first time. I was so excited about. I live in orlando and was willing to drive 2.5 hrs just to go boating here. As soon as I got here the dock master seemed annoyed with our questions that we were asking but reluctantly answer them. The toilet in the boat would not flush, my kids closed the cabin door and it locked on us, with no way of opening it, and lastly the anchor would not retract back like its suppose to. Even after that, I thought it was ok because the family had alot of fun. Why I regret joining this club is because they chewed us out for accidentally boating out of the channel markers. When my brother got upset that they were talking down to us. He brought up the issues with the boat. Than the situaltion escalated. Long story short. I ended up in the office talking to the owner and hoping he would calm the situation down. Instead I got chewed out even more for not knowing everything about boating there. He swore at me, belittle me, and called me an idiot. And I am a paying member of this club. This is not an acceptable way to speak to their members or to anyone. This was my first time boating there of course I wont know where all the channel markers were. It can be confusing locating where all of them are located. And during my orientation I was told its ok to be outside of the channel markers, just to be careful when outside of them. Although I paid alot of MONEY to join and only paying 129$ per month I will be quitting. I will not continue with a club that treats their members like that. Its possible they might not have as many boats as they claim to have either. That explain the long time it takes to get a reservation on the weekend. Its almost 8 weeks out.
I joined last year and was excited to use the club. At first, it was easy to get reservations and I even got a few standy by calls. But then weekends were taken up for 2 months! I never got calls for standby anymore. One time I had a boat out and they called me to bring it back early so they could get it ready for the morning. If you allow someone to have it out until 5:00 pm, then that means 5:00, not its 3:00 and time to come back. When calling to make reservations most have been rude when calling accept for the lady. They do not sound happy workjng there. Also, there is a $25 charge everytime you take the boat out. That is on top of the monthly fee and buy-in.The concept is great, especially for the expense of owning a boat, which I have in the past...but this club needs some work. I have cancelled my membership.
Beat up boats dirty heads not impressedEven at special buy in price of only $5000 and $149 a month we passed on these boats and clubCome on Man your wife, girl friend family and kids should not be exposed to such filth. For you and maybe your fishing buddies that just dont care about being clean then this club is 100% for you.And their only 40 footer the port engine has been down according to staff for months and will be removed from the club very soon.Cheap is cheap and yes you get what you pay for buyer beware here
Have been a member for 8 yrs? Now it takes 3.5 months in advance to reserve boat?in the summer??? no more calling monday to get aboat for wed.? What happens when you reserve boat 3.5 months in advance? something comes up and you never use,
We joined the club in 2013 and we use it quite a bit since we live near by. We enjoy the flexibility of the club because they allow 24 hour access to the boats. The most important thing that I learned from being in another boat club prior to joining Plam Beach Boat Club is that you have to keep your reservations on the calendar at all times. i see people write about 2 months out but that isnt the case. I am out at least every other weekend, because we use the reservation system. We were members of another boat club for about 2 years in Boynton Beach, it was ok but we had to many restrictions and the club does only half day usage on the weekends which didnt work for us and we had to be in by 5 p.m. This is a very good club and allows you more flexibility than any other club and they provide better service.
My experience with this club has been beyond frustrating! If you call today, you will not get a boat on a weekend for at least 10 weeks! To me, this is insane when I put so much money down and pay every month. Other boat clubs in the area are very different and much more accommodating. In addition, every time I have taken a boat out there has been a problem. Joining this boat club has been one of the biggest regrets of my life!
Its ok not like it was before.
Jeffery your right to be skeptical. As a current member who has invested over $10,000 in this club to get started I feel my escape is quickly becoming a source of aggravation. In a nutshell, if you go boating Monday – Friday, this is a good boat club. If you boat on the weekend, good luck getting a boat without planning 5 weeks ahead of time. When I spoke to Chris (owner) I had a million questions, I was very concerned about the availability of boats on the weekends, which is when most people go boating. He quickly dismissed my concerns basically telling me there was nothing to worry about. When I inquired about the number of members to boats, he refused to disclose the information. (I should have stopped here, but like most I figured it will all work out.) Chris’ rationale was it did not matter how many members there were in the club, their usage was low and that’s what mattered. Well the number of members does matter. How many people do you know spend over $10,000 (one time fee) and $300 a month to belong to a boat club and not use the boats at least 4 times a year? The reality is they want to use it more. Now multiply that by the number of members and boats available.Anyway here’s what you can expect with your “membership”• You pay a 1 time fee $5,000 - $15,000• You pay monthly dues - $200 - $400 (regardless of how many time you actually get a boat)• The inventory of boats is not current. The 36 Albemarle has been out of commission for months yet they still have it on their site.• There is no way to schedule a boat online or see the master schedule, they will not disclose it.• You can only schedule a boat by calling them Monday-Friday before noon.• To get a boat on the weekend you have to reserve it 4-6 weeks in advance and pray the weather will cooperate.• You have to return the boats by 5pm or get a late fee, unless you specifically tell them your doing a late return.• You have to keep a credit card on file for automatic payments of dues, and fuel.• There is a $10-$25 fuel surcharge in addition to the fuel you used. You need to insist they fuel the boat when you return and have them disclose the fuel cost at the dock. Otherwise you can expect and unusually high fuel bill. During my orientation I took a 33ft boat to peanut island and back just practicing docking, idling the whole way, never on plane and got hit with a $50 fuel bill for two hours to a destination I can see from the dock less than a mile away. WATCH THEM ON THE FUEL!• Do a thorough survey. Be assertive and point out everything not working. Every boat I have had out (over 20) has something not working. No boat in this fleet is 100%. They will not disclose everything, and in most cases do not know what’s not working. I reserved a boat once with twin engines and noticed when it was on the lift one of the skegs were broken. I had to repeatedly request the dockmaster note it on the check in sheet and he would not do so until I refused to take the boat out. Why it had to come to that I have no idea, but my gut told me the minute he brushed it off and I left the dock I would get nailed with the repair. Glad I insisted.• Check your fuel gauge. I hopped on a boat once that was not on full, so I insisted they top it off. I was given an explanation “oh it’s full those gauges are never really that accurate. “ Again I refused to take the boat, they topped it off, and guess what it took 13 gallons! I can’t stress enough, WATCH THEM ON THE FUEL.
Nice to be a member they always have ample parking
Used altot of facilities in the area and have been pleased with them
Plenty of boats in the fleet.
Highly recommended !
Awful - old tired boats, unsafe, less than courteous service Quit and never coming back Run away if you are thinking of joining.
Great staff
Trust me the advertising does not match the experience. Awful!!
Great boat club, great value!!!
