Fabulous restoration of our painting from the 1950s. They were very helpful in explaining what they would do and how theyd do it. I was kept up to date on progress - and the painting was done early! The documentation of the repair was impeccable and the repairs themselves impossible to distinguish from the original. Not as expensive as I worried it might be ... but still worth every penny. They do amazing work! I brought them a painting that was a hundred years old. This was a painting my grandmother had done of a mother and child. My grandmother died in childbirth with her fifth son, so her four surviving sons really didnt know her. And of course none of her grandchildren had either.This painting had been through a lot including someone trying to clean it with varnish. It was very faded but I was pretty sure it could become a treasure. And so it was a treasure after Richmond Conservation Studio did their magic, it became a family treasure. My family is very grateful.

If you have artwork that needs restoration or cleaning, you will not go wrong at Richmond Conservation Studio. I saw several examples of rescued artwork, mostly paintings, but also items like a gnome from a New Orleans Mardi Gras float! There are very few, if any other art conservation businesses in Richmond that I am aware of, so they may be your only local opportunity to repair artwork, but you will not be disappointmented if you use them!
