This is the best movie theater. I havent visited in a while because I have a newborn and well... the pandemic. We used to love going to this movie theater, they have AMAZING customer service and their food is delicious. Also, we signed up for their rewards program, so we always got awesome deals (free movie ticket, popcorn, $2 off or burgers/pizza), we loved ordering the cauliflower wings, the truffle popcorn (Soooo good), the chicken sandwich and their carnivore pizza! We cant wait to go back!!
Alamo Drafthouse is a great place to watch a movie and eat. They have a wide variety of foods that are all really good. They also have the most amazing cookies you have ever had. We have a monthly meeting for a local organization and they do a fantastic job for us. We rent out an entire theater and host about 120 people each month. The screen is perfect for a good presentation and the sound quality is top noch.
No complaints. A lil more of an elevated experience when compared to some of the other theaters. Decent food. Good, attentive service from the staff. Fun trailers and games before the movie starts. Order food and drinks during the movie. Can also place orders at the bar in the lobby. Its located in the back of the Richardson Heights shopping complex. Not far from the Half Priced Books.
I can only rate my experience with the taproom. I did not attend a movie. I arrived with a large party in the late afternoon during happy hour. Service was excellent. My group loved the tap selections as well as the prices. The room was not over crowded, the waitress was always there to help with refills, the environment was clean and not to loud. I will recommend the Alamo Drafthouse to friends. Thank you for the experience.
I have been to the one on Lamar, but Richardson is awesome as well. My lovely wife and I took out our 1 year old daughter to see Frozen 2. I must say that I am impressed with the Customer Service and how great the food is. We had a great time at the Alamo Drafthouse. Thank you so much.
We literally cried when the house lights went down and the Alamo intro came up! If you love movies—really LOVE movies—you can’t go anywhere else!
This is a good theatre for dine in! They have a great selection of food and drinks and the service is always great. The reason it gets 4 out of 5 stars is the seating arrangement. While other dine in theatres have Individual seat tables, this is one long table across the row so if you have to run to the restroom mid movie like I did and youre in the middle of the row, you can either scooch passed several people uncomfortably or duck under the table/hit your head on it to get to the walking space between the table and the seats in front.
Weve been here a few times, and its not too bad if you dont have kids. However, this last time we purchased tickets from Fandango and didnt realize they dont allow kids unless its a specific showing. We assumed their policy was similar to Studio Movie Grill, where kids are allowed prior to 6pm. They would not refund our 10am movie and neither will Fandango. Im not sure we will be coming back here after that incident.
Alamo Drafthouse is THE place to go to watch movies. The service is always excellent, the food delicious, and the viewing experience is top notch. Every other theater chain is a poor cousin by comparison. Also, their unique drink mixes for movie premieres always fun, creative, and usually very strong.
Good place for a movie. The seats are comfortable but they don’t recline like some places. Food is surprisingly good as well as the drinks and yummy adult shakes.
Alamo is awesome. I don’t go out to the movies much anymore? But when I do, it’s to Alamo. I love the no talking policy, the food is good, the staff is awesome, and they do a lot of fun special events. Good stuff!
We love this movie theater. Honestly we don’t go anywhere else now. We book our tickets on the app, print coupons at the front desk, find our own seats, eat and drink without being disturbed. It’s such a nice experience.
A unique and fun dinner and a movie experience. The servers are constantly picking up orders and delivering food throughout the movie but the seating is set up in a way that they never blocked the screen. We ordered pizza and beer that showed up about 20 minutes into the movie. I swear I didnt even see the server. The pizzas were delicious. We are definately going back.
This is, hands down, the best movie theater. Period.
This is my go to place for the movie theater experience. Plenty of food and drink options and the best part is never having to worry about loud people talking or phones on the whole movie. Love it.
I think this is the best place to watch movies. Not the fanciest, but has more of a classic theater feel. And the bar is fantastic. Great cocktails and beer selection.
We will do the drive from McKinney to Alamo because its the one place our family of 5 can agree on. They know how to do dining with movie, never in your way when taking orders, my husband enjoys their beer selection and we all love the food. I like the fish and chips, loaded fries, kids (teens) love their milk shakes.
I must have missed the info that our show would be an hour late because of an interview in the beginning. I sat down and no staff talked to me. I put up a card with my order 10 minutes into the interview. It was walked by 4 times in the next 50 minutes. I changed my card to just ask for water.20 minutes into the actual show, someone took my card. 20 minutes later, I flagged someone down to ask. She said she wasn’t supposed to be there and I should write a card. I wrote another card. 20 minutes after that was when a water was put in front of me.I came hungry and ready to order and eat food. I left hungry because I’m stubborn and don’t like to be ignored. Also, the interview was cool but a heads up would have been nice. It’s now an hour and a half past my bedtime.
Hands down the best theater experiences I have ever had. No matter if I go for a blockbuster opening weekend or for a smaller movie, morning or night, the service is always the best and the staff is always just the right amount of friendly and attentive without disrupting the film. They have great food and are often changing up the special menus and lobby themes for the big attraction movies. There are usually fun photo opportunities in the lobby and youll never have more fun on an opening night at any other theater. And to top it all off, its affordable. Best theater chain ever, I would rate 10 stars if I could!
I love the ALAMO! Its my go to spot for a peaceful queenish experience All I have to do is order my tickets online and show up. Everything else comes to me! My hunny and I made this a favorite place soon after we moved to the state of Texas. They never disappoint
Got a group of our friends together to see a movie on Christmas night. While the previews were going the power went out. They asked everyone to wait a little bit to see if they could get it back up and running. After 20 minutes they told us they’d give us rain checks for our tickets but still charged us for our food!Fast forward a few days later we got all of us together again (which is not easy to do! It’s hard to coordinate 7 people’s schedules!) and attempted to buy tickets with our rain checks. It wouldn’t work online despite calling them and verifying that we could do it online. It was SUCH a hassle trying to get that all sorted out. We finally got to the theater and got our seats. We politely asked if they’d comp us some popcorn for all the difficulty of trying to see this movie over the past week. They quickly said no.Not impressed with the customer service and the online system they have for using rain checks. All seven of us friends agreed that we will be taking our business elsewhere.
One of my Top Favorite movies theaters!
Another server delivered our sodas and accidentally placed it on one of our promotional items (cardstock photo of the movies main characters) and quickly moved it. 20 mins later she quietly placed a brand new one at our table. I thought that was just a perfect example of the attention to detail they deliver.
Love this theater. Alamo definitely beats out the competitors for me. The food is better, the beer selection is way better, and the fried pickles... the fried pickles are nirvana. One star off because it is pricey, but not really a lot more than others nowadays. Try it out!
Just saw a movie here and headed to get a crepe afterward. Turns out I had left my purse in the theater and a super sweet worker came all the way to the crepe place to give it back!! I always receive great service here
Really LOVED this Alamo!!! Staff are outstanding!!!!! Our favorite used to be Alamo Dallas but since trying here THIS is my favorite spot! They were also OUTSTANDING on the all ages show of Frozen. We had brought my 1 year old and she loved it!!!
All Alamo Drafthouse locations are great, and this one is no exception. I’m knocking one star off only because it’s an older theater and the seats are kind of hard to get in and out of. The bar is EXCELLENT, though. The staff knows their stuff, they are personable and approachable, and they make amazing cocktails as well as good beer suggestions.
Overall, a pretty disappointing experience. The seating is cramped and crowded. The guidelines or rules they claim to enforce are more like suggestions. No one followed them in our theater. People came in late after the movie started, people used their cell phones regularly, nothing was enforced. I give them 1 star for cool points related to the vintage cartoons and movie posters throughout the lobby. The idea behind what they are trying to do is a great one and needed, but Alamo completely fails at its execution. Just another cinema I will never visit again.
Great location. Always clean upon my visits. Plenty of parking. They have lots of older movie posters up, all around the inside of the lobby and hallway. The seats are extremely comfortable. The staff has always been friendly and helpful. There are even certain movies that premiere here, where people come dressed up in cosplay and there is almost a small convention feel that comes with it.
Vintage style dine in theater, speedy convenient service felt comfortable through the film. Overall a great experience sure will return for future movies.
Best movie experiences ever. Even when I got a glass of water spilled on me, the waiter was very professional and cool. Without asking or saying anything, they comped a small part of our meal.Even when they arent perfect, they shine.
One of the best in the DFW area. Im never disappointed by the level of service or the food. Great place!
Movie quality and seating is great. It took an hour to get a burger and we were billed twice. Think the restaurant part could use a little work.
Its pretty clean. I love the service and its a great place to watch your favorite movies!
My favorite place to go to the movies. The spiked shakes are delicious. I would like to see a few more vegan options on the menu, though.
This place is not recommend, the service was horrible, the waitress that waited on us, was extremely rude when we asked her to take our plates away, and bring more drinks...even though she had walked passed us like half the night and ignored us...she advised us no to talk in the theater, how do tell someone not to talk when your just asking the waitress to acknowledge we’re still sitting here... unbelievable. Never will go back to this place .
Great atmosphere. Always a good time. If you want to grab drinks and dinner with your movie this is a great choice. Food is better than other movie/dinner combo places.
My go-to for movies every time. They have special screenings of old movies, good seating, and a zero tolerance policy for noisy kids AND adults. Whats not to love? Dont forget to sign up for Alamo Rewards to get points that let you get discounts on future tickets.
Nice theater. Good food and drinks. Good staff. A little on the pricey side, but still a great experience.
If you have never been here you are missing out. Fantastic craftsman cocktails themed to different movies. The fish & chips are my favorite right next to the baked pretzel and buffalo cauliflower. The pre movie events are what we always show up early for! The movie partys are a blast!! We go many times a month and always something new showing
The only place I would actually recommed to get on their email list by joining the Victory club because you dont want to miss all the cool promos and special events that happen here. This has been my favorite theater for yrs.
This theatre is really good. We love watching movies here the pizza is good and the brew is local. Lots of fun things here from time to time
Shining example of this theatre chains concept. Friendly unobtrusive service that knows how to get in and get out without disrupting the show. My order was processed quickly as accurately. Thank you!
This Alamo Drafthouse is a great theatre to watch a flick in! Great display & layout. The arcade games are amazing to experience before any movie! The food never fails as well as the atmosphere is superb!
Great place to see movies. Loved the background/history prior to features. The food is great as well as the service. Theaters are clean....doesnt smell like dirty furniture
Alamo cares about your movie experience like no other theater. Food and drinks are served but in a way that doesnt have servers constantly scooching past you and blocking the screen. They have a no talking policy so sorry if youre a chatterbox.
Enjoyed my experience here. Saw the Lion King with a group of friends. Walked right in the theater, to my seat, placed orders. Took a while for food to come once the movie started, but it was not a bother. Great set-up/concept and prefer over other competitors.
The silver screen has never been more respected than at an Alamo Drafthouse. They have excellent service and keep order within the theater, the fried pickles are succulent, the burgers are tender, and the beer is cold. Its a bit pricey but well worth the experience of phenomenal cinematic experience.
Really awesome modernized cinema. The food and drinks are great, especially for a movie tavern. The themed drink and good menu for specific films are fun and delicious as well. The theater is clean and spacious.
Very fun experience when youre looking for the classic dinner and a movie date but still wanna switch it up a little bit! Food is cooked well and the menu items are very detailed! Lots to offer from burgers to pizza. Drinks are well described on menu so it is easier to choose from instead of just randomly guessing at what you would want. Servers are courteous when coming and going during the movie and keep your area cleaned up nicely.
Great food, great movies, awesome special movie nights. The shakes and cookies are particularly good, made fresh to order as I understand. Much better than iPic or Studio Movie Grill. Their Rocky Horror Picture Show parties are not to be missed!
I was very disappointed with my visit to this location. The seating is terribly uncomfortable, crowded, and the food is awful and overpriced. Its actually difficult to screw up pepperoni pizza. Too much vinegar in the sauce and too little cheese. The staff were unprepared for the movie party, the host was late and still wearing tags on his costume, still buttoning his shirt as he spoke. There is no room to get up and go to the bathroom during a movie, making 6 people stand up for you out of their chairs in the middle of a movie is ridiculously embarrassing! We will not be returning to this theater. There are other far more comfortable and enjoyable theaters that wont break the bank.
My food, a salad took over an hour to come out. It was around 12pm on a weekend so there was no crowd. I had to go search for my waiter mid movie to ask about my food. When I received my bill, there was an apology written and a 50% discount for my order.
Great place to watch movies. The watching area great and the seats are spacious with plenty of room for seating and eating. The food here is alright, though expensive. But, thats what you should expect when you eat at a movie theatre. Also, you can play games at the bar area to win free movie tickets which is nice.
Loved the movie, but even with my order card raised, it took 15 minutes for.them to come see what we needed.Service could be improved
Glad to be able to be vegan and have popcorn again at a movie! Along with that, they have multiple vegan options. Love coming in early to catch the intros to movies. Nostalgia overload when I went to see Detective Pikachu, and the display for Endgame was on point. VEGANS: try the buffalo cauliflower. Delicious. Thank you for offering vegan options!!!
I love how small this theatre is. Lots of fun events always happening to! $5 mimosas are my fave.
Alamo Drafthouse has upped my standards of watching a movie. Its no longer just sitting in front a screen and then eating somewhere after to chat about it. You can drink and eat while watching an enormous big screen with entertaining videos before the movie instead of your standard trailers. Its like some listed all the things wrong with the movies and made them better. By far best movie experience.
The theater was great!Seating was good.Restroom was clean. The server brought our food quickly. The food was great.Overall great experience.
Food is pretty good here, much better than what you get at Studio Movie Grill (aka Salty Movie Grill). Service is decent and the theaters are in good condition. All of this and educators get Wednesdays in the summer for free!!
Went for the free teacher movie.I am a big guy seats kinda small.Food was good. Be careful soft drinks and tea are 4.50 each. But pop corn is only $7 Still ended up spending 20$. I will go back.
I enjoy the seating at the lake highlands Alamo a little better. As a short person often times my beverage blocks a little of the screen for me and its difficult for people to go in and out due to the seating.
This place is a lot of fun and offers many special screenings. The staff are very polite and efficient and offer many different food options cook to perfectionThey also offer free refills on popcorn and drinks
Kind of a hipster vibe. But theyll take your money no matter what you look like. If youre looking for a movie and a meal this is the place to go. I love their no talking / no phones policy.
First time here. Love the setup they have with food and drinks thru the movie. Awesome!!! I want one of these were I live.
Very nice cinema, viewers are all very respectful, and the sort of guarantee that you wont have your movie experience disrupted is fantastic. Comfy seats, clean, and if you were wondering, this Alamo uses a long table/bar across from you instead of the little floating mini-tables attached to the chairs. Much better experience, IMO.
Great food, great support for anime, and friendly staff! Its our #1 theater for anime releases!
Always have a wonderful time at the movie parties. Great service and good food
There is no better place to watch a movie, enjoy a burger and beer. The staff is fun and they have themes for movies. For Ant man and wasp they had menus you had to read with a magnifying glass! Are you kidding me, I love it here.
I really wanted to like this place the reviews were high and I figured why not give ot a shot..however I felt the seats were uncomfortable, you have to sit up to eat at the table in front of you and they also dont offer a 2 go bag for your food. The ordering system they have is to write down what you want from the menu and slide it in front of you on a slab well my pen was out of ink and my paper kept falling off also I couldnt see what I was writing... the waiter took my order but kept letting me know I can request what I wanted on paper... also $9.00 for truffle popcorn and $15.00 for a Burger and fries and a glass of wine will run you about $40.00.. I guess... I personally feel you can find cheaper place with better Dine in selections.
I saw a great movie and enjoyed my meal. I wish I could reclined further back.
Best trailers/clips before the movie. Would almost go just to watch them. Also, an ever changing menu, with items crafted specifically for new releases. Always fun!
Just got out of Sonic movie, good food
My most favorite theatre ever. Hope they would open one in Albany at some point!
I love going here. The seats are comfortable the food tastes great and the popcorn is bottomless!
The no-talking, no-texting, and no late arrivals policy makes movie going enjoyable again. You no longer have to tolerate cell phones lighting up during the movie or people who believe their comments are more important than anything going on in the movie. The Alamos popcorn is delicious. With some movies, the theater has special menu items that ties in to the movies theme.Best of all? You dont have wait staff interrupting you or those around you. Everything is done silently by writing on cards. Very little distraction.Thank you, Alamo Drafthouse!
I always go to this location. The staff is good and vigilant with getting your orders in and out to you quickly. I love coming early to see the videos before the movie, way more interesting.
Love this place. The only complaint I have is if you dont get your order in before the movie starts, you end up waiting an hour for your food.
Really disappointing and uncomfortable. They had almost like individual movie chairs (not reclining) with a giant table across the entire row for placing drinks/food. Totally uncomfortable to eat sinceso far away. Food and drinks way overpriced. Studio Movie Grill on Spring Valley is a much much better experience.
One of the best movie theaters in Dallas on a pure environment basis. Rowdy and rude individuals are taken care of by management. The food at the Alamo is a step above their current competition. Ordering is simple and food is delivered fairly quickly. The bar selection is good, offering an array of spirits and craft beers.
I chaperoned three 15 years girls to movie, the Hispanic ticket lady demanded to see school ID’s to get student discount. None of the girls had their ID’s, hence we paid adult price. This place is not very welcome for teenagers. You can see this in the her body language and facial expression.
Our first time to visit Alamo was last night. We will be back. Good food, comfy seats, and Star Wars. It was a fantastic evening!
Thank you for keeping it consistent. Love the vegan menu and pricing on tickets as well as food. Legit service and kind servers.
Ive been going to Alamo for years, and theyve been awesome in every way. On the very rare occasion theres an issue, they make sure its fixed right away. Hands-down the BEST movie theater chain.
OMG on the hamburgers and shakes. Seriously! And the parmesan popcorn... you have to try. The seats are so comfortable... really enjoyed our movie experience.
The food wasnt anything to brag about. Seemed to be a lil pricey for that style of theaters. I didnt like how high the table bar sat in front of your movie chair. It seemed to block the view and take away from the experience. My 9 yr old son had to sit in a lil child booster seat just to see the screen.
This place is awesome, people are friendly. Food is always good. Really havent had anything bad yet.
The only theater we visit these days! The great thing about Alamo isnt the food or atmosphere, although both are to die for. It is the whimsical nature of everything that they do. There are often special menus with themed food to match the movie premiering. Costumes are encouraged during certain movies. The pre shows are hilarious and...strange.However, my favorite part is juxtaposed a bit because alongside the whimsy I just mentioned, there is one VERY serious rule: absolutely no talking or phone use. If you happen to disturb someone and they report you, you will be escorted out of the theater with NO refund. They are quite serious about this, and I love that. It means that I can always be guaranteed a nice and quiet movie.
Alamo Drafthouse >>> Studio Movie Grill.Drinks are awesome, food is awesome, but most importantly.. staff is awesome.
Best Alamo Drafthouse in Dallas. Servers are friendly, professional and respectful. My favorite theater, no contest. 5 stars.
The best!!! Now that we live where there is no Alamo, I miss it so much. Food is great, no talking during the movie, and they show all kinds of movies. Really miss having an Alamo nearby now, and the Richardson location was always our favorite. It was the only place we saw movies.
