Good hike. Trail was narrow in spots, but nothing overly concerning. Few shady spots to stop and rest if need be. Much more shade closer to the waterfall. Would do again.
This is a good day hike! I am out of shape and I did fine with a few breaks along the way. I would say it is moderate to vigorous, parts of the trail is only small rocks. Narrow for most of the hike and highly trafficked. The first half is all exposed to the elements, the last half is through wooded areas. To get to the falls you have to cross the stream via logs.
About hour and a half walk each way to the waterfall. Most of the walk isnt shaded but the scenery is ok. Waterfall itself isnt too big and the pool is very small.
This is one of my favorite places to go hiking, medium challenge in my opinion. Great waterfall at the end, so worth it.
This is fairly easy trail. Slightly uphill but good for moderate or new hikers! Its about 6.5 miles round trip and takes about 3 hours at a decent pace.
A rare gem of suburban wilderness. One of the very best things about living here in Reno. But this trail is suffering from its burgeoning popularity and excellent accessibility, especially now in the COVID era when gyms are often closed and wilderness neophytes are out there in numbers. Please, please people... take REUSABLE water bottles filled with excellent quality Reno tap water with you, NOT single-use disposable plastic water bottles. And when you see trash on or off the trail, adhere by the USFS wilderness code of conduct and PACK IT OUT. Your momma, as well as the USFS, aint cleaning up after you in the wilderness. Leave the trail cleaner than you found it, and have a great time!
Great hike have done it twice. In the summer time you have to start early because the first 4 miles have no shade. In the winter time the last 2 miles are boosted in snow and ice which when it begins to melt turns to mud. Always a fun hike a bit messier this time.
Absolutely amazing!!! Definitely worth the hike!!! My legs felt like spaghetti by the end but it was definitely worth it!!!!
Great hike with a stunning waterfall at the end. Its icy towards the end but well worth it!
The falls are fantastic, not very swim friendly but thats ok, extremely refreshing to sit around and let the mist cool you off after that big hike.
Great hiking trail! Good for hiking near Reno any season. Ive hiked it dozens of times and its always enjoyable.
My favorite hike in Reno. It is sometimes a little bit icy or muddy in the winter but the view of the falls is spectacular.
Awesome hike.
3.2 mile hike. Excellent views
This trail was super fun. I lot of ice if you go in the winter. But the water fall at the end is totally worth it
Great hiking trail
Beautiful hike 3 miles in and 3 miles out. There is a nice waterfall at the end with logs to sit and enjoy lunch on. However, the log over the river for the final crossing collapsed on 6-8-19. It is still passable, but much more difficult, especially for furry friends.
Quick jaunt from the parking lot..
Great hike no shade wonderful view of falls
Long hike for a busy trail that ends in a pretty, but crowded area.
So beautiful
So muchFun
Excellent trail.
This is a this is a must see if you go to visit in Reno
Last mile is icy with muddy trail conditions prior to that. Good idea to bring poles or YakTrax for the top...especially heading back down.
Nice hike, falls looks not that great.
All up hill on the way to the falls, but it is pretty place once you get there. We cant wait to go again when the weather warms back up. Take some water with you and so.e good company and hit the trail. You will not regret it.
Good local hike. About 3 hours to falls and back. Some rocky areas to cross over.
Very nice
Good hike if you want to see the waterfall. Its worth it.
Great destination. The hike is fun and at times it can be quite peaceful, although at other times it it can be full of other people there to enjoy the scenery. There are several places to cross over the creek in other locations.
Good trail! Follows Hunter Creek to waterfall. Crosses creek 4 times, (two crossings are actually a smaller creek that flows into Hunter Creek) No bridges, one crossing features a large log. Good strenuous hike, about 2 1/2 miles to the falls. Some areas with loose rock and large drop offs.
A challenging but doable day hike with rewarding waterfall at the end. Some log crossings may be challenging depending on the weather
Amazing to see and way worth the hike to get there... call it a gem hidden in the hills of reno.
Its a pretty good hike, its within city limits. Water fall, picturesque.
Amazing trail. Good workout and great views.
This is a good hiking trail. It is out and back with a waterfall at the end of it.
It is a daunting in and out hike for flatlanders. The elevation gain is in the first 1.5 miles of full sun. Once you hit the trees, it is a pleasant, meandering hike to a little waterfall. Bring lunch, listen to the water and enjoy. Caution: most dogs are off leash and feces is everywhere.
The hike isnt a very hard one. Its a gradual incline for about 2/3rds of the hike. The last third of the hunter falls hike has you trek through a nice cool forest. If you make it to the forest portion if the hike then your home free. Depending on your speed once youre in the forest, the waterfall is about 15 mins away. The return journey is almost all a nice and easy gradual decline.
Nice hike.
Nice hike, colorful
Beautiful
A hard and long walk for someone in poor shape, but well worth it.
Memories that will be with me forever :)
Beautiful adventure!
Great hike. Worth the trip to see the falls
