What a great museum! I wasn’t expecting it to be so large and interesting. It was a rare rainy day today which made it perfect to visit the museum.Right now they have a special exhibition for black history monthTip:Don’t forget your student ID or do what we did and purchase a pass for two people on living social for $14 :)

This museum is jam packed full of things to do. Only 10 dollars for standard adult entry and then you are set for hours of interactive learning and visual stimulus. Has a little bit of everything, from old to new technology, meteorites to dinosaur fossils, a huge bird display, old automobiles, trains, and the structure of the building is pretty cool.

There is also a live whimsical/reptile exhibit. (Check the hours ) Keep in mind, the animal exhibit does not observe the same operational hours as the museum. Worth a visit.

We got tickets on Groupon. Good deal. Otherwise, its 10 bucks per adult. It was easy to find, once we had the right address. Groupon has the address listed wrong. The museum is pretty small. An hour visit at most. Some bones to animals, some Indian stuff, some antiques, and a bunch of stuffed dead animals. We asked the guy in the front if this was the only building. He says yes. Well, I overheard someone ask about live animals. He says go out the door, to the next building. Um, so there IS another building. There are a few animals out there. A bird, turtle and bunny. Then a bunch of bugs and reptiles. You can only touch the bunny. But he never came out. haha.We got there a few minutes before 1. Gift shop was open. By almost 2, it was closed already. Not sure why they would close so early. No snack shop to get food or drinks. It was super dead. It was Saturday afternoon, so we thought it would be busy. Like 5 cars in the parking lot. It was a bit of a disappointment.

This is a hidden gem in the inland empire, and more people need to know about it. You can spend hours just looking at the fossils, minerals, and learning about the fault lines in our own backyard. The have a giant mastodon greeting you as you enter the earth science gallery. They have grizzly bears and other animals to meet you in the upstairs gallery. Its fun to see the live animal exhibit, and to visit the pulp culture exhibit in the hall of history. One can also spend time in the ethnobotany garden, or check out the life size train in the courtyard. There are always different events happening throughout the year, and there is always something for everyone to enjoy. I recommend this place to anyone wanting to learn or just spend an afternoon walking and enjoying the variety of thing the museum has to offer. :)

Very good museum. Not all exhibits were interesting to me. However, one that did stand out was the Hall of Biodiversity where they have an excellent collection of mounted bird species. One of the best. Hall of History was also very good. I especially liked how informative that exhibit was in detailing the history of San Bernardino and surrounding area. Who would of thought the city of San Bernardino was founded by Mormons! Anyways, the admission price was fair and there are even some discounts available.
