Great water park. Grew up local and was a special treat to be able to come as a child. Now I take my kids with season passes and they love it. Just wish the music was better. Too much county music. Wish they would play music more fitting like tropical music or tropical house music even more family music would be cool. But other than that love it.
I am so thankful that I have a place to take my toddlers during the brutal heat! However, there’s some cons with this water park. I’ve never been so stressed in a place because you can get yelled at at any moment for anything. Life guards seem to follow different rules or their own rules. For example, for 3 days in a row, my kids and I would wait to go into the lazy river until it was nearly empty because they take a while to gain confidence to get in. They will stay on the last step for about 5 minutes and then finally get in. I always make sure we aren’t in the way. The last day we did this a whistle -happy life guard yelled at me and said I couldn’t do that and to go to the kiddie section. I had never been told we couldn’t do that before and this life guard was blowing his whistle non stop at people.Another example- there’s usually lounge chairs (blue ones) by the kiddie section and I asked a life guard if I could move a vacant one I saw over there. He told me no but I explained that there’s usually some over there (probably brought over by guests) but he didn’t believe me. I kept pushing and then he asked another life guard and she said “oh yeah go for it!” So it seems like none of these life guards are on the same page.My last annoyance is that seniors only cost $9 to get in. 2 and under are free, but that should be 4/5 and under or have a reduced cost on season passes. You can’t do much there when you’re under 48 inches. There should be discounted season passes for kids under 48 inches.
Super Fun and affordable for ALL ages! A few things of note that kept the stars down though...1. Got to the top of the toilet bowl slide, only to be sent packing cause my son was too short. No signs about height for that slide anywhere.2. Went to return my tube and the guy wouldnt let me. He said my pass didnt have a tube checked out. Went to the office, and they said there shouldnt be a problem. Went back and he said the same thing.. i practically had yo beg him to take the tube. Next time Ill just leave it and not return it
The rides are waterworks were really fun! I especially liked the one where its dark. but when I got hungry, i went to go get food and see at the time everything was great but when I received my food it looked nothing like what it was suppose to and it wasnt too good. if you dont want the same experience as me, it would be best to bring your own food from home.
Needs new slides. Life guards suck. The rules only come out when youre having fun, which takes away the fun.
Ive been taking my family here 4 yrs. They are constantly expanding & improving. They season pass is definitely the best deal.
We try to come once a year from out of state. We always have a great time at Water Works Redding!
I loved it because all the rides are super fun but the avalanche is kinda scary. I would request the raging river to go on first because it just gives you a jolt of excitement!
The staff here was amazing we had a fathers day party of 28 and they took amazing care of us. i will definitely be booking another party.
This place is such a disappointment! I have a disabled little boy that I purchased season passes for the past three summers. This area doesnt offer much. With COVID-19 we expected the park to be sanitized this year at the very least. The prices ridiculous and the quality is extremely poor. The slides are falling apart, the wave pool and lazy river are freezing cold and dirty. The staff are rude teenagers that are poorly trained with bad attitudes. My son is small for his age and gets bullied by unsupervised children. If I could give them negative stars I would. We went there on opening day the wave pool and lazy river were dirty and leaves all in the water. Very unsanitary the untrained teenager working window couldn’t even figure out how to get us season passes. The prices went up and service went down. Do not take your children there very unsatisfactory and unsanitary.
I grew up playing at this park and loved waiting for every summer it would open but im sad now that this pandemic might have it closed indefinitely.
Kids had a blast! Friendly staff, cabana was absolutely worth it.
Great place to get away a little pricey but worth it. Teenage staff could be trained better.
Bought a season pass that only lasted 30days, not sure what kinda season pass only last 30days. Would like a refund, but we all now that wont happen. They got there cash thats all they are worried about
Good place to swim every body eles
Thanks for being open and allowing us some normality during Covid
So so disappointed with this place. The prices just keep going up and the quality just keeps going down. My little guy tolerated this place last summer despite the fact that he’s disabled and pretty small for his age. My husband and I just refused to get in the water due to the dirty band aids floating around and the pushy, rude and unsupervised children. We just flat out refused to buy passes this summer despite the fact that COVID-19 has closed most outdoor summer activities down. His dad decided to take him to check it out opening day though out just total boredom and to his terror things have gotten worse! The prices of the already greedily priced terrible food have gone up even higher and the water was dirty and freezing cold as always. Along with staffed by terribly trained teen agers. I can’t believe this place is even still open to be honest
Always a good experience, just wish the food and drinks werent so expensive..
Very nice clean and well maintained water park cowabunga beach is the best !!
Good family fun! Food wasnt to great and took over an hour to get. Being in our own private Cabana we had a waitress who might of been having a bad day. The park is smaller than your average water park although the slides were fun the water was cloudy and looked dirtier in the cowabunga beach. They need a little TLC in the cleanliness category.
What a disappointment! This water park is so overpriced, filthy and falling apart. My wife, son and I all had season passes last year and went several times. Every time it was a disappointment in some way. They would run out of tubes, the food was stale and overpriced, slides are frequently closed because they are literally falling apart, but what was really disgusting was the wave pool, somehow, ALWAYS had a BANDAID floating in it! I do not recommend.
Water works bro. 20 years later, getting better
We had a good time. I didnt like that they let people were shoes in the pools and lazy lagoon. I have not been to the park when the pools were so dirty and cloudy. It has always been really clean. Staff was for the most part nice. The greeter that puts your wrist bands on was a sweetheart. She really seemed to like her job.
Had an awesome time with my daughter, son in law, grandsons, and great nephews.
Amazing place to take grandkids for an afternoon of FUN.
Safe place for family. Food reasonably priced. Rent a Cabana! For a family day it is a must! Staff keeps order, thank you to them. Children have fun but arent out of control infringing on others good time. My grandchildren loved the rides, which were confidence boosting.
Awesome place to stop and let the kids have fun
Great place. Lots of fun.
I have been going to this water park sents I was a baby and it is the best it deserves ️️️️️
This is a fun small water park. It has a great kid section. The staff is decently friendly and accommodating. They just have tons of ridiculous rules !you are NOT allowed to Bring your own plastic water bottles or any food. And the food prices are ridiculously over priced for the quality ! Not to mention it’s kinda Expensive just to get in !The ENTIRE water park literally smells like Urine and Sewer ! There was bandaids and bugs in the water.I have also never seen bathroom SO Disgusting!! Literally, there was feces and urine all over the women’s bathroom floors! and no toilet seat covers in any of the stalls. Also, Walking to and from the parking lot there was THREE different spots of feces. Overall everything was just so unsanitary - it Ruined my experience. We would go back if they can improve their cleaning tremendously and keep up on the water. Next time, we will just travel to a different water park.
The Waterworks Park in Redding was a blast today. Now that school has started the crowds have died down making it perfect in terms of the number of people there. You can bring in your own water bottle and get ice and water in the gift shop. You cant bring your own food and snacks in but you can go out of the park and go back in with a hand stamp. There is a Subway and a Starbucks across the street, and we noticed a family had set up a little table in the parking lot and were making their own sandwiches. The wave pool is great. There are nice lounge chairs around the area, the bathrooms are close and there is shade. We would set up our gear in that area next time. The gift shop has real scooped ice cream which is a quality brand. Overall an excellent place to cool off and enjoy some family fun!
We went there yesterday w my son, his friends, my daughter & my 80 year old mom! We all had a great time! The boys are 16, my daughter 20 & we all had a blast. The boys did all the rides but us girls enjoyed the lazy lagoon. The park was very clean!! The cabana we rented was clean as well. The staff were all very friendly & super helpful. I was very impressed by the life guard staff. They were very serious about their jobs & kept control. Next time we are in Redding I’d be happy to go again.
I love this place. How many businesses in Redding bring visitors I from Oregon in a daily basis? One. This one. Always surprisingly clean, loads of fun, refreshing. Great people watching, whether you like beautiful people, or more interesting bodies. The food is exactly as it should be, greasy, sugary and indulgent. Perfect.
My Granddaughter went with the school group. She had a wonderful day and enjoyed it very much. I suggest its a great place to cool off and have a good afternoon in the water.
If it were a backyard swimming pool it would be an above ground pool. I mean, its a pool! Just not anything to write home about. Fun! Just overcrowded and overpriced.
Its nice to come back to Water Works a few years later. My only problem is that while the water has a bareable temperature, I wish it was a bit cold. Just cold enough to keep you refreshed from the hot sun. But everything else is fine! I had lots of fun today! I hope to come back next summer!
Awesome rides and friendly staff! Our company rented the park for an event and we had the park to ourselves. Its my first time going so I cant say how well it is on any other day but it was a blast having little to no lines and the rides are incredibly fun! Definitely recommend companies who appreciate their employees to treat them to this!
Its a small park more suitable for the youngsters than for adults. Everything is shallow and fairly slow, with the single exception of the slide that starts with a near verticle drop and ends pretty quickly. I dont regret the visit, but I wont go back.
When it was closing my kid was in the pool then a worker told her “GET OUT” she was going ro swim to the other side but then she said “GET OUT” again.
I previously supported this business. However in July 2020 they continue to stay open in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. They are choosing to operate against direct orders from state and county officials. My family will not be returning. My prior review:Great variety of water fun for all ages. Kiddie pool with 3 very slow slides and overhead water sprays. Flume slides. Tube rides. Wave pool. The only reason I didnt have 5 stars is because of the restrooms. They are dated and dirty. Definitely dont match the rest of the facility. Highly recommend getting a cabana if you want shade.
A fun place to spend the day. Definitely recommend renting a cabana. Good to have a place to store personal items and be able to get out of the sun.
Expensive, as one could imagine. However, if you happen to shell out the extra bits for a gazebo your almost guaranteed to have a great time. Wave machine is best machine :)
I love it but it small the end
Affordable and safe. not bad price good for younger kids. teenagers would rather go to the big ones but this is great for 15 and under
Waterworks park is amazing! Though you will have to wait 20-15 minutes to go on the slides but its totally worth it. Also when i went to the bathroom..it was a little dirty. Like a little to dirty so i would appreciate it for next year to have your bathrooms cleaner.
Grandson had lots of fun there
This is so much fun. The only thing is you have to pay to get in then once your in you have to pay for the tubes to ride down. But over all this was really fun and you should try it.
Our family had a blast here, my 6 year old was able to ride all but the tube slides. We loved it. Will definately go again!
People there are rude. and lines are to long
We had an amazing time! Cabanas were excellent with great service. It was small enough to let your kids roam without worrying
This place is fun! A bit pricey but worth it, the parks not too big and the hours are short but 1 to 2hours is enough to do the whole park. Lines for The Cyclone and Avalanche are long but there are slides and even a wave pool to go to.
Way way fun. Short lines, some life guards are kinda d words but most of them are cool. Makes a great summer day
We are from Kentucky. Our girls had the best time! My husband felt like a kid again. He said the 3 maze slides were the best!
This is by far the worst water park I have ever been to it’s highly over priced for what they have food is crazy high prices which is to be expected at a place like this some of the staff is very rude not all but some the water slides are terrible at first I thought my kids were just to lite to go down the slides cause they were having to push them selfs down the slides all of them they had to do this with I went down them to make sure it wasn’t them being to lite I am 5’11 an 220 pounds an had to do the same thing watched several other people having the same problems there is only 3 slides worth a damn in the whole park an that is cyclone, avalanche an raging river me an my daughter went to go into the new wave pool they put in an I was holding my daughter to stop her from being swept away by the waves an the lifeguards told me I couldn’t hold her which just makes no since at all I’m all for safety but god damn this place is fun outrageous you can jump into any of the pools they do have you have to use the steps no matter what which I assume that is a insurance thing but if you want to go to a real water park head to the Bay Area an have some real fun for about the same price outside the cost of gas you will spend to travel there if I could give negative stars I would give it -5 stars I would
Tons of fun for the whole family! This place is a great time! Best to get the season pass!
We love this place. Have been the last 2 summers. Clean and well run. Food is decently priced. Follow the rules and you wont have a problem.
Fun place. They have the nicest people there. Tyler from maintenance very helpful.
The park staff is nice. Could use more cleaning. Piles of hair around the edges of the pools, right at 10am when they open. Yuck.
There are some places you shouldnt miss and this is one of them if you need to get out of the heat. NO outside food/drinks - but you can come in/out if you have the bracelet and stamp. rides were fun, park was clean, but my favorite place was the wave pool - lots and lots of laughs.
I love this place my boyand I went to it and it was awesome. His girlfriend even had a great time. Im 46 years old and still had fun.
So much fun for the kids!!
Chaperoned students from our school. Staff was helpful and friendly. A large enough park, but not too large!
Pretty good. Life guards are hit and miss. Some are really friendly, some just sit and watch as kids struggle to get out of a tube...
Small but fun. Cost a little too much for the size.
So much fun! New wave pool, snack bar, and so much more.
Great day for our daughters birthday party. Kids had a blast and everything was so easy having a cabana!
Ive always loved coming here as a kid. But its really inconvenient to have to be crowded in the gift shop area just to purchase a tube or locker. It should have a set up at the area where the tubes and lockers are.
Great place to take the kiddos to cool down and play. Pretty expensive but worth every penny
It is so fun I definitely recommend it the only thing that could be better is if they added a new ride from time to time
Attended a veteran event. It was great since it wasnt overfilled with people. Was fun.
Fun for the first two times and then it gets boring because of how small the park is. Rules there are way to strict. Is fun if you are hanging out with friends though.
It was very fun
This was a fun day for the family. The entrance prices are a bit high, but we had passes given to us, so only thing out of my pocket was the tube rentals $8 each with $2 refund of return of tubes
Great family fun!
My family had a blast here. My five year old was right at 48 inches tall and the lifeguards made a special effort to watch out for him on the chute rides. The Avalanche is wicked fast and all the chute rides were great. The food was yummy and all the lifeguards were so friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this park.
The park is great overall because of the amazing rides and all the slides, it really is fantastic, it is a really good place to bring kids and all the employees have been really nice to me and all my friends, it is also a good price considering you get to spend all day there
This place is now to controling with to many rules. Too many restrictions. Unfortunately, I tried getting my money back for the 1st time their and I loved this place. Others are getting whistled at for doing wrong. I do not recommend going here if your looking forward to having fun. I talked to a lady their that was chief. She understood, but they couldnt help the regulations and safety protocols. No more going backwards on your tube, wearing sunglasses, lastly having fun. Were all adults their and we get treated like kids. WaterWorks Park
In 2018 it’s not that hard to be efficient. Water works check-in/ticket process for the season pass is anything but efficient. Waited in line after getting there early for about 25 minutes with little kids. Glad we only have to do that once! The line wasn’t even very long, it just took forever.Once you’re in the park it’s good enough for what it is. Life guards are a bit over zealous, but I’d prefer that to being too laid back I guess. You can’t bring in any food or drink, but they will fill up a reusable water bottle of you bring one for free.Overpriced for what it is. I think they’d make more money if the prices were more reasonable. They aren’t even open very long. Especially for little kids, the price should be reduced since there’s not that much to do and there’s so many rules that seem extreme.I don’t recommend if you’re coming from out of town, but for people in Redding it’s kinda all we have.
Very friendly and polite lifeguards and clerks in the gift shop, the bathrooms and water was very clean :)
Awesome water park. There is something for everyone.
The water park is most fun for me and my kids we loved it. Me and my wife
Hey I brought my date here. She loved it
Fun but a lot of people there so some lines are long and the floor is hot but super fun
Fun but definitely needs more slides
Had a great time with the kids. Its cool they have lifeguards all around. They seem to be preety good about paying attention to there designated area, keeping everyone safe. They also seem to be preety helpful in getting everyone riding safely. I didnt expect them to pur so much effort into making sure all passenger were in safe riding positions.
I havent been here n four years but when I went it was very fun the lines didnt take to long we went as soon as it opened we took a break midday went to car to eat picnic then went back until closing we also bout tickets online which saved us money
