Great place to have fun. Would be nice if there was more room for tables. You cant find one most of the time to put your stuff or even set to eat. Great pizza always a must have.
Kids loved it. Fun indoor water park and easy to spend the whole day here.Positives:- lazy river- hot tub- decent slides and play structure. Some concerns:- very few lifeguards given the amount of people. Some patrons take advantage and get a little out of control.- it can get very busy/crowded. Im not sure how or if the capacity is moderated, but it can feel a bit crazy at times.Overall we enjoyed it and will certainly consider returning in the future.
Absolutely a paradise in an upside down world. Everything worked properly, was clean and there were towels! Sooo fun for both adults and kids. The slides were great! We were able to order our food and drinks from the Sliders restaurant attached and they brough it in the waterpark for us to enjoy, dripping wet and ready to play again afterwards.
We purchased 6 waterpark passes. We got there and all the power went out 30 min after arriving. It took hours to restore. When asked if we could get a refund for our swimming passes. The hotel receptionist was extremely rude and denied our refund several times. After speaking to a manager we got a refund. 2 days later i purchases swimming passes again. I walked away from our table for 4 min to check on my kids with it still in view. I get back and someone stole my sons only pair of shoes he brought on vacation. I tracked down an employee to report it. All she did was take my number down and said they would review cameras, as i knew who took them. A month later. No call nothing. My son was out brand new shoes he just got. I will never swim at this park again. Not to mention. They gave no craps about social distancing or wearing face masks
We stayed at residence inn, so admission was $12 and free if you wanted to just get in the hot tub only. We went in the evening during the week and it was nice. My daughter had fun. We came two nights, and plenty of space for us. People easily spread out. Couple things I wish to see, the tables were left dirty when families leave, with covid it kind of uneasy since you are able to eat. Especially as I write this the lady next to me is asleep with her feet on the table. They did have hand sanitizer stations but I saw people come and go and no cleaning, with that I wouldn’t eat here. Instead just go in the restaurant, bummed we can’t take out own food.
Definitely very kid friendly. Kids loved it and its worth the while for adults/parents too.
Stayed at a hotel for 4 nights in Rapid City SD near the WaTiki water park. The kids saw it from the highway and asked to go so we set a full day aside to take all of our kiddos. The staff was friendly, helped us find seating, we carried in a small backpack cooler with water bottles. Food seemed expensive so we decided to go eat and return the same day. The Lazy river was fun for us adults, my wife even went down the water slides! I would recommend this for a day of fun if you like pools, oh yeah and the hot tub was very big and relaxing!
We stayed and visited the water park a few weeks ago. It gets very busy on the weekends so we ended up going on a week day. Prices are expensive unless you buy your passes from your hotel. The water park can get pretty dangerous so make sure you are monitoring your kiddos. The few reasons I am giving this four stars is because my kids had fun and we were able to go on everything with them. As well as the staff. Specifically two lifeguards, Bridget and Kaylee. Both of my kiddos got hurt and they were both so helpful getting them cleaned and bandaged up. One of my kids got lost and Kaylee help her find us. I was so thankful! You can tell the staff cares that you have a good time and that you are staying safe.
This place is great. Clean and reasonable. We showed up at 10:30am and the kids played all day till 9pm. The staff even said they kids can come in the next day till 10:30am, and they did. My wife and I just paid $10 for us each to use the hottub to spectate. Three main slides, lazy river and tons of other stuff. Food is right there, but a bit pricey.
Great place to meet up with other families. Definitely stay at one of the hotels here and buy your tickets from the hotel front desk, this will save you a little on your ticket and you wont have to wait in line. Best part of staying at an adjacent hotel is you can walk to the park and back and you wont need a DD. The park is the perfect size to keep an eye on your little ones. Only downside was the service at the park was sub par. Had to wait for an hour to buy coffee and when I finally ordered, Starbucks said they ran out of coffee and didnt know what an americano was but could do a latte.
Good time for kids, extremely overcrowded for adults... Good time overall! Just wish there was more room (seating) for adults
Its an ok water park. Its super busy even in the off season with big lines and very few tables. Honestly youd be better off staying at a hotel with a nice pool vs. this water park. If it wasnt so busy Id rate it higher. If youre at all worried a out Covid, masks and social distancing/capacity requirements I would steer clear.
My family: hubby, myself and 3 kiddos, had a great 2 days at the resort. The kids enjoyed the water slides and went down at least 20x in a row. I loved that the water temp was warm.
I used to really enjoy coming to watiki. But since theyve added two more hotels, making it four total. Its just too overcrowded. And thats what the covert virus going on. I cant imagine what it would be like without the virus. Four hotels is way too many for one water park
Had a great time here. It’s the black hills on a unusual year that seemed to be really the only thing open so yes it was busy. Lines long but they moved fast and the kids had a ball. Will be back.
Very nice place most are great staff some are not...... slides are fun lazy river is great and they others are nice aswell I recommend bring a water bottle as you get very thirsty i would change before hand also other than some of the staff this place is a great option and would go again
Wow! Check out this Amazing Indoor Waterpark in Rapid City that you can bring your kids to during in the Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall!
Kids had a blast. It was pretty busy, but lines moved quickly for the slides.
The toilet bowl water slide is the best water slide I have ever been on.I think with three large hotels connected to the water park, it should be open to hotel guests only. Paying for a hotel room should get you a cheaper water park admission and table with out having to fight the crowd. We say a small group of women scream and push each other around in front of their kids and a lot of other families. I asked a worker if they had security. They didn’t do anything about it. I later saw the women dragging her 2ish year old up the stairs.Too much trash coming in, keep it to hotel guests only. The locals are giving the place a bad name.
Great place to go on OFF DAYS, clean and has great employees. The Manager was very nice and took care of us.
Loved it. Water is always warm. Kids had a blast.
My family loved the water park and finding places open and having a slight normalcy to them is very hard to do right now. Their team is super professional and my daughter loved getting to go down the slides with me since shes too small to be on the tubes alone. Its definitely on my list to come back!
It was a fun experience but then they kicked everyone out because they claimed they had some lightning going on over the building. I was outside multiple times where I did not see one single lighting strike. Im not against keeping the people safe but the worst part about it is that they kept us waiting in the dark with no updated information on when they would or if they would reopen. We waited 2 hours and then heard they had no intention of reopening. Granted that was my decision but communication is key to any good business. Your people/customers deserve to know what is going on. You wouldnt want your time wasted.
Loads of fun for kids. Nice that it is connected to two different hotels. Does get really busy in the evening. On my two trips there, I have noticed that the lifeguards are a little lackadaisical so Ive noticed that some guests get pushy because there isnt much enforcement of the rules.
Very fun water park! My parents know that me and my siblings love the water park already! Our favorite features are the slides, especially the toilet bowl-type slide, and the obstacle course and hot tub! It can get hot in this place during the day, but you feel much cooler going into the water! Also, one more thing is that it can get crowded and the slide lines can get a little bit lengthy, but never too long.Try this place out and see how much fun it is!
Had a great time at WaTiki Waterpark on our South Dakota vacation. All the staff members were friendly and accommodating. The water slides are lots of fun. The food and drinks were fantastic. Thanks again.
Here visiting from Arizona. Such a good time with my 6 kids. Everyone was nice, but ALEX AND AARON, the 2 youngest employees were super hard workers and so polite! Keep up the good work!!
This is the only option for water park fun unless your hotel or koa has one. It’s a bit expensive at $25 per adult with not a ton to do. The adults will tire of it long before the kids. They do however offer a 5pm to 8pm special (which we did and the adults were ready go at around 2 hours) and 8pm to close both for a cheaper price. They do shut down if there is lighting for 30-min to an hour. This did happen to us but we only had 30 min more of our time left. Someone told us that we could ask for a $5 play card for the arcade but we didn’t. There are 2 slides that take a single or double float . And one body slide which was not popular and I could see why because it smacks you at every riveted section. The pools at the bottom are 3’6” so my 6 year could reach with no issue. I was glad though that she had her floaties on when we went down the red and blue funnel because when we got down to the bottom we flipped and she flew right over me and it freaked her out a bit. There was a murky little pool that had a rope climb across it and basketball hoops . The little kid play jungle gym was cool and had a couple slides of it’s own. There is a jacuzzi area as well. The life guards were minimal and it seemed like a giant free for all. Overall the staff seemed disengaged. There is a nice locker room area with individual changing rooms. There is an attached restaurant to order food from and beware there is an arcade to blow more money in.
I’ve had good times there but I give it a two star because the prices are absolutely ridiculous unless you literally plan on spending the whole day there. And if you do, the food and beverages are also pretty steep. Even if you’ve already paid for a room the discount on admission is minimal. For the price, I would expect something twice the size with more activities. Too bad there aren’t some other options right now....
Great place to spend the whole day! Food is good & we have a blast!
We were just there and it was sooo nice to go to a place where some semblance of normalcy was found. We drove up from Denver since CO is still on lock down. Our family really enjoyed our stay. The kids had fun and the water park wasn’t crowded. We will be headed back again. It was worth the trip!
Super fub but gets crowded pretty quickly
Loved it here. Only changes I would make would be more seating or better system to know who has left for the day and the table just hasnt been cleaned yet.
Lots of fun and reasonable prices. Also the water was very warm!
Awesome for kids! Slides are great, 2 use tubes which are great for adults even. Small pool. wish there was more
The food and drink service was excellent!Disappointing. The pool water was cold. The hot tub was the temp the pool should have been.
This place is amazing but the reason why I give it a 3 star is because the hot tub is crowded with kids with no parents supervising them. The hot tub water is also lukewarm. And the lifeguards are never on duty. I see them all in their break room.
Amazing park! Super friendly staff, very clean and plenty of tubes for the slides. There is no hight or age requirement for the slides of an adult is present, so my toddler could go on all of them and we had a blast!Food and beverage is pricey, but that’s to be expected.Pro tip: buy beer draft by the pitcher to save!
Three stars for this water park. Mostly clean environment, family friendly food options. A big plus; they give Military discounts. The reason for three stars are:1: There are almost no lifeguards on duty. The ones that are, look like they absolutely hate their job. This is definitely no Great Wolf Lodge.2: There are several slides that are out of order, or in need of major maintenance.3: Extremely pricey for an a water park of this size, and with non functional rides.
It is the best and recommended place to go for Family and kids. Fun and relaxing. Don’t have to worry about cold; it’s warm indoor water. Lots of entertainment for kids and enough slide to have your self for fun. Love this place and if I can go always I would. Your money is worth it for.
I went to the watiki water park. As i was watching my children, i seen this middle aged female. She was scratching, could not sit still, obvious jitters and her eye were very constricted. All these are clear signs of meth.I informed one of the employees of this and told him i had numerous training and witnessed this type of drug use. I pointed out the female. He did state that he would keep an eye on her.As another hour passed. I seen this female become worse and could hardly walk and function. I told the same employee of this and told him that i did not want my children around this person. Also, that we are leaving, due to this apparent danger.I do bot know if ill return to this park. I was going to ask for a refund or some type of passes. It was clear that he did not feel that it was business as usual. Please watch your children very carefully.Mark W.
Good Waterpark connected to hotels. We stayed here as prk of our road trip for Midwest (badlands, Yellowstone and Glacier) It was reasonably priced with our reservations. We bought 2 wristbands for the kids and go 2 spectator bands. The park overall isnt that big and can fill crowed at moments. The kids enjoyed the lazy river and 3 larger tubes. We would go again if passing thru on travel.
My grandkids had a blast thank you
Really cool waterpark, nice warm waters and a lazy river and water playground for the kiddos. The yellow slide is a great ride for the big kids, aka me, and really gets you moving fast! Sliders Bar and Grill is good, not a lot of selection but convenient to nosh on after riding the slides for a while.
I went to this water park with my family on 7/16 and the first thing I did was go down the water slide. For whatever reason, I stopped sliding halfway through the tunnel and had to push myself down the rest of the way. The lufeguards werent paying attention and sent my husband down the slide before I got off. Thankfully, I made it to the pool a split second before he reached the bottom, otherwise I would have lost my head! As it was, he collided with my back with enough force to almost knock me out. I was literally seeing black and losing consciousness as I made my way to the edge of the pool while the lifeguard did nothing. She asked if I was ok and I said that I thought I was going to pass out. All she did was say that I could sit there until I was able to get an ice pack in the first aid area. When I made my way to the first aid area, and explained that I got stuck on the slide, the lifeguard who gave me the ice said that sometimes it happens. I later talked to the manager, who said that it was the first time she heard of something like that. All in all, I was injured due to the lifeguards neglect and felt they handled it very poorly. If anything, they seemed to find it funny! I had to see my doctor and found out I had a severe hematoma in my back. A month later, it still hasnt fully recovered. But thank God it was me who went through this and not a kid!
Very clean and many water choices. It was nice to be able to get food and drinks delivered in also
Such a fun place for adults and kids alike. Highly recommend planning a day here.
This place is the most amazing water park ive been to! The family had SO much fun on a recent vacation, we actually booked another stay here for the summer! The kids play area is really wonderful, they all adore it. The lazy river is absolutely fantastic, a great way to lounge about. And the water slides are equally as amazing. The Toilet Bowl is everybodies favorite. The pool side food isnt bad, and the people working here are all around pretty delightful!! Definitely recommend!
The hotel was nice (Home2) but the water park was very disappointing. They have no problem over selling tickets for the water park. That place was most definitely over capacity. We couldn’t even swim because there were so many people. The lines for the slides were so long it wasn’t worth it to even try go down them. The water was so filthy from so many people in the water. It was a nice park but just not for 4+ motels to all be going to the same place when it was meant for maybe 2 motels. Definitely will not be recommending.
I mean, for the area, its kinda all there is. But yeah.... For the price, its way too busy, understaffed, and dirty. I kid you not - dead bugs in the lazy river and hoops area. We saw a grand total of 4 lifeguards, and the place was PACKED. Definitely needs some work - cleaning, maintenance, and additional staff.
Very busy. Kids had a great time
Nice but small. Wish they would add more attractions. Only waterpark around though....
Great place, alot of fun for kids
Small cozy place, just right, not big crowds wish they had more food selections, other then that all was good
Good clean atmosphere great staff good family fun
Dude. This place is awesome. I’ve been to a lot of water parks with the kiddos and this tops the cake. A couple things I love especially....1) they have a super reasonable height requirement and if your kid is too short they can at least ride with you. All their pools are catered towards adults and kids so the basketball area and the lazy river are all shallow enough so they are safe for littles. The water slides themselves are amazing and fun - unique and all that jazz and the little kid water park is hours of entertainment in itself. We are from Minneapolis and would seriously drive the 9 hours just to get here because it’s better than anywhere else!
Great Place for Family Fun!!
My 10 year old had a fantastic time. Safe, central, including an arcade.
Took my kids to their cousins birthday party. Way too crowded. Kids getting hurt left & right because of it. WAY too much chlorine in the water. We all got terrible headaches & felt sick so had to leave. Felt terrible the rest of the night & all the next day. My kids had chemical burns from it as well. Appears that there is mold growing on the wood in the toddler play area. No clean towels. Heaps of trash on the floor in the the bathroom stalls. We wont ever go back.
Fun for the whole family. Kids loved it!
A real great place to take the kids! The hot tub could be a lot warmer. Honestly too many kids always in the hot tub but is fun for kids and the parents
Super fun Waterpark, Clean hotel, Great Time had by All!!
Arrived Friday, March 24, 4:30 pm.Parking was horrendous.$17 pp for 2 yo and above. The park was very crowded, hardly enough space in and out of the water. Even the bathrooms/changing rooms has lines. The rinsing area is in the open and only had 4 shower heads with a liquid soap each shower.Changing room has several closed stalls but not segregated to men or women. Towels are free but flimsy, but its better than nothing. There were 2 tube-required slides and one no-tube slide. The slides were typical but make sure you keep an eye of your little ones as most of the lifeguard assigned to these slides were not serious enough to watch the people that just sled. Either they were chatting with friends, day dreaming, or looking at other things. No rules whatsoever, the lifeguards have no regards for slide rules. They just allow anyone to do what they want. I watched these lifegaurd assigned at the end of the slide and they did NOT care. I thought maybe it was just one person... nope the other shift was the same thing. The lifeguard on the basketball pool area was different though... he was at least was paying attention. And the pool water in this area was warm nice. There were 3 slides in the toddler section which my toddler really enjoyed. The lazy river would have been nice if it wasnt super crowded.I probably would have not gone here but there is no other water park in this area..My toddler and my teens enjoyed at this super crowded indoor park. Look at the pictures and you decide if it was worth $17 pp.
We had a fantastic time here. The rides were fun, the staff was kind, and the facilities were in good condition. My only minor complaint is that there could have been a few more things for the youngest guests (i.e., 2 and under).
Clean, happy place for kids and adults.
Great place for the kids. Going back next month.
Lots of fun for kids & parents! Drinks are good!
Nice clean and fun.
Fun stop for the kids. Thanks for being one of very few pools open during COVID!
Planned the day for being at the water park because it was supposed to rain all day only to be told it’s closed because of lightning. We thought because it was indoors that wouldn’t be an issue. Extremely disappointed to tell our kids who were looking forward to it the whole trip, that they were closed. Don’t plan on going here even if it’s sprinkling because we didn’t see lightning anywhere.
I took my kids there and they really enjoyed it everything was very good and the people are very kind
Had a great time, I would compare it to a smaller Great Wolf Lodge. Had a little trouble getting a place to put our stuff and finally just set it in the corner by the hot tub. The hot tub isnt very hot which is good for the little kids. The life guards are really laid back compared to a GWL, perhaps a little too laid back.
What a FUN place! All ages can enjoy! Arcade and food bar make for an all day fun-venture! We rented a locker which was reasonably priced and could access as many times needed (perfect for our large group) and there was an area to utilize life jackets- (a literal lifesaver with my 2year old!) While my older kids ran to the big slides and log obstacles, my little man and I went to the park side- he was going down the slides himself! He had an absolute blast. Its been over a month and they are all still talking about watiki. I cant recommend this place high enough. It was clean, friendly staff, affordable all day fun. Put this on your list of things to do!
Fun water park for winter or summer.
We had a great time and the staff was so friendly.
Kids loved it. Wish there was a slightly bigger general swimming area.
Mmm is ok
My kids love this place. It gets a little crazy during busy times but still lots of fun. Observer wrist bands are free for hotel guests.
Had lots of fun! It was really busy though!
Fun place to spend with the family! Hours of fun!
This place is so amazing. We have a special needs child and everyone was so amazing and helpful to our family. Gina was incredible. We will be coming every New Year!!
Its a nice indoor water park. Its very crowded on Fridays thru Sundays, but thats expected. If you stay at one of the hotels on site, you get a discount, and some of the further away hotels will give you up to 2 complimentary Waterpark passes a day . All in all its a great place for kids and adults.
Great family park! Well designed fun
Food, drinks and a great water park, water is nice and warm also, unlike most hotel pools.
We had a great time and celebrated a birthday there. However, we lost two decks of Pokémon cards. If we could get those back, it would be amazing.
Really fun slides and splash park. The people that work here are super nice as it seems to be the case everywhere in South Dakota. The only complaint I would have is it doesnt seem like they have the water very clean. I really dont care but it bothered my wife and my son quite a bit.i wouldnt shy away from here. Its pretty dang fun!
People getting drunk everywhere....but slides are super fun
Not very clean.Never any towels. So many people I get it from holiday weekend. We bought a season pass since we wanted to use it for the few weeks were here but my son is literally burned from the chemicals.. we showered before an after each swim. His feet, hands, thighs an stomach are very bad an red :/ probably won’t be back even though we’ll be up here for longer. Hot tub has so many kids in it is Luke warm.
If your looking for an affordable and fun place to take the kids while visiting rapid City this is it. Every time we visit we stay here. The kids have a blast.
Awesome place but good use more caring lifeguards
Great place to take your kids. Warm water and air temp unlike other hotels in Rapid City
