The parking lot is close to the park and trails making it easily accessible to the area. The sand volleyball area is maintained well. This is a good place to fish, hike, bike, walk, or sit by Rapid Creek to hear the water.

If you’re interested in the formation and plotting of Rapid City, this is the park for you! Also a lot of detail about the flooding that took place in 1972.It was under construction, but as I approached one of the sidewalks under construction, a speaker mounted to the safety rail warned me about it and told me to take a different route. It is the only time in my life a sidewalk has ever talked to me, and I will never forget this experience.

Awesome place to stop and refresh by the river!!! The water is clear and fresh... the river bank is nice and clean. Walked around the pathway afterwards! Super pleasant!

Founders Park is beautiful. Right now, Rapid Creek is over its banks so there is a bit of debris but from flooding but overall it is just as scenic as ever.

This is my absolute favorite park in Rapid City, but for families with young children be aware there is no playground just lots of beautiful places to walk.

I remember when this view was used to be a packing plant I am so happy to have the opportunity to see actually a park here now

Very nice and relaxing park thats usually not too busy compared to the others. Being next to Rapid Creek though, make sure to bring bug repellant!

Easy access to nature right in the middle of town.

Sweet singletrack system in the middle of Rapid City with wide variety of trail difficulties and features. So good, I would pay to ride here if needed!!

Construction work on Omaha but other than that Founders Park has trails for hiking and biking.

Always enjoy it here.Lots of people walking or jogging and a good place to start a hike up M hill.Rapid Creek runs through the area and a quaint bridge to sit and just watch the water flow.

Love this place. Small Park maybe but still a place I love to go. Always a pleasure to be there with my wife when were out and about on the town, just as a place to stop and unwind for a bit.also, the information boards and plaques, are top-notch and roll maintained. The hiking trails at this park are all so well maintained, and inviting. Also a great place just to bring kids for a short walk.

Horrible place to take your kids! there are always some weird people I don;t know what kind of crazy substance they are using to get high. I never feel safe to walk in this park, not alone, not even with my family. it is like a zombie park!

This is such a fun and interactive park for kiddos!

Clock is older than I am but I still have always liked this park. A good picnic park. Good park to bring the family for celebrations. Little stream to fish at flowers to look at and smell. All around beautiful park!

This place is a must see. I went there to stomp around and relieve some anger cause work is a pain in the butt. But the weather had a different plan. It started raining and pouring and blowing so there I was sitting in my car. As I sat there I watched children running to their cars screaming cause they were getting soaked. I watched bikers pedal like they have never pedaled before trying to get to cover. I saw a squirrel running from tree to tree just trying to avoid the rain. Overall it was a great experience. 10/10 would watch everything get soaked again.

Beautiful scenery and plenty of trails. The perfect spot for just a picnic or spending hours outside.

Beautiful hike along Rapid Creek. The entire Rapid City open space is amazing. A blend of paved and natural surface trails. Several parks. Ballparks and amusement parks. A 2.5 hour hike from one end to the other. Wow!

Its a nice quiet place to visit. However, there was liquor bottles and all sorts of trash around. The grass was too long and there were pieces of dead trees.

Founders Park has become a hub of activity since Rapid City revamped it a few years ago. On many summer days the local farmers market can be found. Great food trucks are often parked in the parking lot, serving their delicious goods. The bathrooms are always clean. My favorite trailheads for the Hanson-Larsen Memorial Park are right across Rapid Creek, accessible via a foot bridge. You can park at Founders and spend hours hiking, running, biking, shopping, eating, and much more.

It is an excellent place to run all year long. The path is very well maintained in the winter

I absolutely loved it there! Amazing scenery with forestry and water views and the trails were awesome! They had a variety of paths you could take :-) definitely bring a camera and take photos!

I arrived here way back in 74, in time to see the effects of the great Rapid Creek Flood. What a tragedy!!! Rapid City has grown and recovered from that event.

Hosting a segment of Rapid Creek and the parallel walking/biking path, this park offers up a great place to have a picnic with a small or large party. The scenery is great and other eye candy includes a few monuments and art. Large lawn area good for a variety of outdoor games. Its a good home base to enjoy some hiking or biking at adjacent parks. (Caution for the kiddos: No playground equipment at this park.)

My husband & I took an easy walk that goes on the other side of the creek, absolutely Amazing.

Love to hike here!! Food trucks show up regularly, way cool! Rapid City cops do police here but of course local drunks hanging out and in the cave there was a horrible homeless smell with a dirty sleeping bag! I wouldnt let kids go there alone!!!
