Great people, great service. Always make it a point to come and have a drink or two when I am back in town. Great place to meet locals and have a good laugh too.
Relaxing pub at the end of the day. Small casino with limited slots.
Mary is the best!!!
This place is relaxed, great atmosphere, and the staff and regulars are nice people. Great location by Canyon Lake. You can walk across the parking lot and get gas station nachos to go with your drinks and good company (just an idea...) They also have things like Karaoke and food from time to time. Cash only. There are slot machines if you like to gamble. The lighting is dim which is good, because the atmosphere is easy going. Fun to sit out front and watch the sunset.
Im new in town and Im trying to make friends. This place has a really friendly crowd but The brunette bartender really could use some customer relations training. The last time I came in there I was just sitting at the bar by myself. There were a few other people there but I was alone.I started to talk with a few guys about elk hunting and hunting in general. It was a good conversation nice guys. But things went south after that. There was this other guy, also seated at the bar, and we start talking. I really dont know how the subject came up but he started talking about some grooves in Jersey suffered after a car accident. From everything I described the small crowd there at the bar agreed that it was really lucky that he was alive. There was also a woman sitting at the bar. The guy reminded her of a relative who died. And then the subject of God came up and the bartender said WE DONT talk about God here!I didnt bring up the subject but I have no problem talking about God. And I said as much. I didnt realize how serious she was. Ant to be honest I thought she was joking. For the next few minutes she angrily walking, almost charging around the bar area and the casino area. She was demonstrably angry and very unfriendly for no reason at all.One of the ladies at the bar tried to whisper to me that the bartender is an atheist. The implication was that I was not allowed to talk about anything that the bartender didnt approve of, because shes an atheist. I offered to buy the bartender a drink but she refused saying she does not drink. The guy next to me, the one who was lucky to be alive and also an atheist, ordered a beer and got one that was frozen solid. I dont know if the bartender initially noticed, but she should have realized that he was having difficulty drinking it when he raised the bottle up and turned it upside down, nothing poured out. Im totally serious, the beer was frozen solid.I didnt want any trouble and left. I wont come back either.Im just a new person in town and am going to different places with the intentions of meeting people and making friends and really dont want to upset anybody. And I was not going out preaching the Bible. Im willing to talk about anything. And people dont have to be offended just because youre talking about something. Also, people have a right to their opinions. All of us do. Even the ones that believe in God.Anyway I regret any inconvenience or insult this bartender felt by my presence. And she can be assured that in the future she will not have to endure that difficulty again.
