An easy walk down a local ally will reward you with fun local art. Worth a visit if you are nearby.

This is a fun little alley to walk through. Lots of cool art on the walls and they allow artists (with permission) to add to it, which is awesome.

Street art is an inspiration to me as an artist, would recommend this attraction to anyone whos looking for a lil bit of inspiration or just to check out some amazing art work.

Interesting. I know its an alley, but since its also an attraction they should clean it up. Both the language and the appearance of the alley. And keeping the homeless from bothering people.

Some of it was cool, some of it was just plain old graffiti.

Not as great of experience as I thought it might be, that said its still something unique and worth the walk to see that art. Plus if your already downtown you might as well stroll through and try and figure what is art and what is graffiti.

Always fun to walk through Art Alley since the scene is constantly changing. Theres some really amazing murals. A lot of people use Art Alley as a backdrop for their photo shoots.

Funky vibe, short walk near downtown restaurants and shops ..

Dope place with some powerful artists expressions. I went at 7:00 am on a Sunday. It was the perfect time to go because there wasnt anyone else there for a long time and parking was free. I ended up spending an hour there. As it got closer to 8:00 am there was foot traffic and people trying to park which blocks the walls more. Go early and enjoy the art work.

It was a nice place to walk through there is some amazing artwork to look at. Although I would suggest some caution. I was traveling with a niece and as two ladies alone we were immediately approached by an artist who wanted to lay claim to about 90% of the artwork only to end our guided tour with a request for money. I was polite but caught a couple of the other artist snickering as he tried to tour us through the alley. I have a feeling he may not have been an artist who did all that painting but more interested in a financial gain. But, it is very pretty and tastefully done, not just graffiti with no meaning and not any vulgarity, OK for kids.

Very lively alley thats worth a walk through if youre wandering around town. As with most graffiti there are some really amazing murals, and then there are the people who just want to write their name on a wall. If youre that second kind of person please dont paint over the actual good art. Thanks

Let me tell you this: its not an extremely magical place because its an alleyway with graffiti. However, it was pretty awesome. There was abstract art, regular graffiti, spray portraits, and a whole bunch. If youre an artist, I would definitely reccomend this place, but you need a permit to paint there. Im not completely sure if theres a cost for an amount of space. It changes every now and then, so make sure to look at everything you can and appreciate what you get, because you may not get the chance to see it again. Would definitely reccomend for family outings and photography, although every once in a while, youd see a little profanity sprayed on the walls. Still a great place for people who want to walk in Rapid City for scenic reasons.

Cool alley in the middle of downtown Rapid City. Every inch of wall space is covered in some type of art. There is so much to look at and it’s worth stopping by and taking a look.

Rapid City has done such a fantastic job of rejuvenating itself, that even a back alley has become a destination. Most of the art here is high quality graffiti done by artists who obtain a permit. They are very creative. Some art is about a social statement, other is purely abstract. Viewers must be willing to walk between dumpsters, after all, it really is an alley. Some may feel apprehensive about the walk for other reasons, but most all the time the alley is safe and frequented. Id have rated it higher, but the smell can be bad at times.

A great place to stop in. What they are doing for the local community is amazing. The owner was there when we stopped in and told us a lot of neat things to do in South Dakota. Support this place its truly amazing.

A fun stop in Rapid City! The alley is pretty colorful and some of the murals are actually pretty impressive. Lots of tags diminish a little bit the value of the location, but definitely worth a visit!

As part of our week in the Rapid City area we searched for art alley and we were not disappointed. It was at the end of May 2017 and some artist was busy stating on a new piece of art .

It wasnt as cool as I thought it would be. A little creepy, actually.

All the art was beautiful and well done

Loved looking at all the art. A lot of eating close by. A nice stroll after dinner.

Needs to be repainted so they cant paint better pictures. Too junky.

Dont confuse graffiti for art. Ive never had to dodge bums, walk around garbage and take in a dank sewage aroma while viewing art. Maybe things have changed in the last decade?

Lots of cool art. Mostly spray paint art. Sad that lots of the buildings are opting out and not letting people paint. But otherwise really awesome to look at.

Its an alley. Theres garbage bins lining the alley and every time Ive walked through it smells like pee/puke. The art is crammed together and just looks like begginer graffiti with no theme.
