Josh gave us a wonderful reindeer tour complete with fun facts, history and even taught us how to feed the reindeer. We were very impressed by this ranch and it was neat just to walk around the property. I definitely recommend visiting this place it has something to do for all ages. Also it’s a paved road the entire way.Keep in mind that they are only opened Sept- Dec.
Reindeer Ranch is a lovely family run business in Central Illinois. Its always a pleasure to go and feed the reindeer, watch the pumpkins get launched, do the corn maze or have a nice cup of cider next to the wood burning stove. Trees can be cut the Friday after Thanksgiving. Highly recommend for a few hours of outdoor family fun supporting a local family owned business!
We wouldnt get our tree anywhere else! We are always looking for a good 10+ foot tree and this is the only place we find good ones. This year (2020) selection of taller trees seemed to be better than last years. The kids love the reindeer which makes the trip more than just getting a tree.
Fantastic place to take the family as a holiday tradition! The kids loved the play area and feeding the reindeer! We left with them begging to go back next year. They have a great selection of trees to choose from as well. This will be a new Christmas tradition for us.
Family owned business. Everyone is friendly. The hayrides are exciting for children. Theres a good-sized play area with large hay bales. The pedal race cars are adorable.y favorite part was getting to do the reindeer tour.I definitely plan on coming back next month when their pumpkins are ready and the concessions are open.
If I could give Hardys more stars, trust me— I would. My friends and I have never been to a corn maze, so we decided on Hardys since it was the closest one. We had no real expectations for what it would be like; we truly did not expect much other than a corn maze. So, we were pleasantly surprised by our experience! From the few hours we spent at Hardys, we immediately noticed their sense of community. The owners and the employees made us feel right at home, specifically Mark and Julie. They live right on the ranch and the main reason why we had such a phenomenal time! Well, asides from their dog, Flapjack. If you get the chance, do not hesitate to come and visit Hardys! I know my friends and I will definitely be back.
This is our favorite Christmas tradition. The staff are absolutely wonderful and the facility is great. We cant recommend enough! Tap on a clip to paste it in the text box. The Christmas store is dreamy!
For sure do the reindeer tour!! Get to feed them gram crackers! Super cool! Also did the corn maze which was fun! Good outside activity for the family plus everyone there was nice and helpful
Staff was very polite and nice. A must see and do experience! Corn maze was fun! Definitely recommend!!
First time going very nice experience lots of friendly reindeer and staff!
This was our first visit to Hardys Reindeer Ranch We had a wonderful timeAnd who knows, maybe Santa actually keeps his reindeer in Illinois
It was lovely! Im definitely going to make it a yearly tradition from here on out ️
We normally love this place, but no COVID-19 precautions seem to be in place. Even employees dont wear masks, and there are no outdoor options for paying. We left in under 5 minutes.
Had a wonderful time. He loves his animals. Beautifully laid out. Very nice owner.
Wonderful place to visit with the whole family whenever its open. We were fortunate to visit with the whole family and a big group of friends, who they kindly accommodated together on a hay rack ride, but the reindeer tour and playground for all ages were big hits, too. Thankful to have a lovely outdoor experience, and thankful for the hot cocoa, too. Wish we could have cut our tree from them, but its a little hard to transport back to Seattle. Thanks for the fun - and the checkers, Hardys!
This place is such a ball of fun, from go carts to the corn maze. Everything to do is so much fun. I have completed the corn maze about 2 times with my friends. It is so much fun and I go there every year.
Enjoyed their pulled pork parfait, absolutely some of the best pulled pork and mashed potatoes I have had. Some other food choices included: Chicago dog, chili, chips, soda, hot chocolate, sugar cookies, and hot cider in the general store. My son enjoyed the play area outside. Loved all the choices of ornaments Hardys had in the general store, put me in the Christmas spirit! We came for the reindeer and were not disappointed. An affordable $5 tour pass (purchased in the general store) gave you a well informed tour guide and a chance to feed the reindeer a Graham cracker and some oats. All reindeer were very friendly. We were not disappointed and will most definitely be back at harvest time next year!
Awesome experience. It was great for the kids and the staff was wonderful.
Really fun for the kids would recommend if you are going through the area!!
This has become a tradition for us. The reindeer are really cool. We love their kisses! Lots to do and see. Tree selection wasnt great but we still bought one here. Gift shop is cool. Staff are friendly. We plan to go back as long as theyre around. Petting reindeer is something I didnt know I wanted to do until I did it and getting kisses from them was definitely not on that list either.
Absolutely adorable and has a magical feeling to it.A MUST BUCKET LIST -- KISS A REINDEER!! They are such sweet animals, the restaurant served huge portions of homemade food and desserts. The show was hilarious and joyful, had us all laughing our heads off. The gift shop was also very cute and quaint with nice items to purchase and reminisce about your trip to the ranch and the reindeers. I cant say enough great things about this place. A MUST SEE for sure.Made #4 on the American Airlines 50 Must See Places on your bucket list IN THE WORLD.Will be returning next year as well.If I had anything negative to add, it would be that their beautiful souvenir sweatshirts are in sizes S-XL only and run out fast. There are many cute, gifts in the gift shop, reasonably priced if you cant find a sweatshirt, like me.Children would love this but not a place to let them run around so if you bring your littles, make sure they are holding your hands at all times. Free hot apple cider to drink too. And last but not least, go when there IS snow on the ground...makes for magical pictures and a joyous atmosphere.
Glorious! The gift shop is full of eclectic items. You can get a cup of hot apple cider and warm yourself by the pot belly stove. The reindeer are adorable and super sweet!
Must stop! Young and old will have a blast! Reindeer are super friendly and so sweet! You can actually kiss a reindeer!
Super fun experience for families. The corn maze was awesome. The kids loved watching the Jack Splat launching pumpkins into the air. Great place to go. Tickets were inexpensive considering all the fun we had. The reindeer were hilarious and kids can pet and even kiss them!
We visit every year. Lots of little things to do and super affordable. The employees are sweet and love what they do. Makes the visit worth it.
Wonderful family fun definitely going back
My husband and I took our boys to see the reindeer. Before we took the reindeer tour, I thought it was not going to be worth the $5 but it was! Our tour guide was so nice and you could see how much she enjoyed talking about the reindeer! We had such a great time with her and enjoyed listening to her share her knowledge about the reindeer!
Lots of family fun at a decent price.
The reindeer tour is one of those memorable things that can be done with others without spending a lot of time. Its fun and unusual, and an easy way to bond with others. If you have a limited amount of time to entertain, this is the perfect place.
Loved it brought some friends thats never new about it
Awesome place for my kids.
Great place to get trees an kiss the reindeer.
Very fun and affordable
Amazing fun family time. Kids had a blast!and so did we. Plan to spend a couple hours if you do the corn maze.
Cute little destination!
Good place to take the little ones, to see and interact with reindeer.
Soooo much fun. You can feed a reindeer!! I felt like such a kid agin. My 13 year old loved it too!!
Great maze and great people
What a fun place to visit.
Hardy,s reindeer ranch Is a excellent place to go to for family and friends
Cute place to spend an afternoon, a bit dated . Food on group tour was disappointing, brisket was good buy all other was processed food. This place still uses styrofoam cups. The 60 year old owner wears a crop top with her belly hanging out.
Outdated, trees are very overpriced and you need to pay attention because they purposely still overcharge when you pay. Hotdogs and packet hot chocolate with styrofoam. No pets are allowed in this outdoor area. Owners can pretty nice but also very rude if question anything.
We drove a long ways with family who came from even further(2 hours) to see the reindeer and cut down a tree, only to be told they werent doing trees yet. Brochure says trees available from November 15-December 28. We came on the November 17th. Nothing on their website says trees werent ready. The owner was kind of rude and responded with, you dont have any Christmas tree farms closer to you? I guess they dont care if they received our business or not. Only giving 2 stars for the reindeer.
Its awesome that they have some things to do for some kids. Part of it is free and some is not. I wanted to give it a 4 star review, but dont want to tarnish someones hard work. Although there are some things to do (winter visit), I wouldnt take the drive unless sometime in the fall. Not too many activities for the kids especially the real young ones. I do wander if they make a profit on that farm. It didnt look like much for me. It is a well maintained farm, which I appreciate.
A fun time for the family. The kids loved touching the reindeer and the corn maze was a real adventure for them. Very nice staff who answered lots of questions. There is also a playground in so they can run around unstructured as well.
Fun place to visit with kids. The items are a bit expensive and there was no place to get food that day. But for a quick 20 to 30 minute visit it was pretty nice. I think we went on a day where most of the services were closed because it was mid November to Early December when we went.
Definitely fun with a group of people. Always wanting to come back. The corn maze is a Nostalgia experience you will want to keep reliving. They have amazing reindeer as well. Highly recommend to families and big groups of friends.
They got stuff and things
My husband and I went on a bus tour to the reindeer farm and even though it was off season we did get to be up close with the reindeer. What an amazing farm. It would be really fun to go back in the fall and the winter with all of the activities they have planned. The owners were obviously very caring and very good at what they do.
Was not what I was expecting. It wasnt bad but I wont make the 1 1/2 hour drive again out local pumpkin patch had the same + more to offer. 3 stars because my kids had fun
Love the maze
Hardy Reindeer farm desperately needs competition. The staff here are very rude. The live tree selection is poor. The cut tree prices are ridiculously high. It doesnt seem the reindeers are in best condition. My daughter will no longer bring her family to go there with us. The only plus that kids like is the play area, but safety conditions for this area are questionable. Dont go.
This place is awesome. The reindeer are very friendly and love the food. They also have unique gifts in their shop.
Hardy’s was a family tradition when I was a kid, and we’ve brought our own kids every winter for the past 5 years. Today, we arrived at 4:30pm, and I went in the gift shop to ask if there were any more tours. The cashier snapped, “Yes, there’s one at 5, but it’s sold out. You should come during the week when we aren’t so busy.” She didn’t even make eye contact with me. I would have understood the tour being sold out, but being told flatly to come again - without thanking us for coming in the first place - and taking such an ugly tone with a mom with two young kids was certainly unnecessary. We went outside to just look at the reindeer, and didn’t feel like we missed much having not done the tour. The cashier came outside to do the tour, and barked instructions at everyone standing in line. If she doesn’t like working there, why doesn’t she find somewhere else to work? If Hardy’s doesn’t want customers, why open up their farm to the public? This is the last year we will bring our family. The farm is small and nice, and there are fun activities for the whole family, but we got the feeling we weren’t wanted. So, no worries, we won’t bother them anymore in the future.(And by the way, we work for a living during the week. That’s why we came over the weekend.)
A wonderful experience to feed the reindeer and to get pictures up close. Friendly folks at the cafe and the potbelly stove was great on a cold afternoon. The cider was hot and sweet. Enjoyable experience for most all ages.
Good place for kids to play on their play ground and waste an hour or so. As for the reindeer you can see them though the fences and be satisfied or pay to feed them still behind a fence but just close enough where they can eat out of your hands. They get busy on nice days and the feeding area do sell out in 30 minute increments.
Awesome and affordable! You get up close and personal with the reindeer and can even kiss one. I took my girlfriend and we both loved it. The corn maze is a blast and you can even get pumpkins or spicy jellies while youre at it! Would go again!
Its fun. Like to hear about a reindeers likes and dislikes. Got to feed the reindeer. Even kissed 1. Lol
Their corn maze is one of my favorite things about coming here! My fiance and I always come here once a year to try it with an couple of friends and we always have a blast! We bought pumpkins here this time and they were in great quality. They have a pumpkin cannon as well. Unfortunately they didnt shoot it off while we were there but we did try to stay for as long as possible.Ive even come here for a friends wedding reception. These guys offer a lot of different things.
I nice fun place to take the family during the fall. They sell pumpkins, Xmas trees Xmas decore and have s one friendly reindeer on site. There is a pedal car track, corn maze, paintball and more to keep you entertainted. They also have a cool pumpkin cannon. Worth a stop in central Illinois for the experience.
Mark and Julie are super nice people and very accommodating. Fun activities, awesome gift shop and beautiful reindeer.
Was a great place to take the kids. Sounds like October is the time to go as there wasnt a lot to do in November except feed the reindeer
Corn maze was a great challenge. Offered other things to do like a tractor ride tour. Loved seeing all the reindeer. Restaurant has limited hours.
Welcoming and friendly service. Loved all the activities for the kids and the reindeer were awesome!
My husband brought me and it was MAGICAL! Busy but magical and we cant wait to bring the grands!!!
Great place, corn maze was the best. We got to feed the reindeer and learned a lot about them. Took our Jr High classes and they loved it. Makes a great field trip. Go and enjoy yourselves.
Great place the people there are so nice and its an amazing experience for the whole family to enjoy.
Great atmosphere, wonderful customer service. Really gets one in the Christmas spirit.
I love going there for Christmas. Its a far drive for me but always worth it. The reindeer are such sweet animals and the property is just beautiful. Try to go during the week or early in the morning to avoid a crowd. Thank you for a great place and a unique experience.
We loved getting to see the reindeer and feeding them.
We did see and feed reindeer, and we did play outside. But 5.00$ a head for reindeer tour was a little overboard. The tour consisted of standing under an awning feeding the reindeer and taking pictures. I guess if a 5 year-old and a 2 year-old were satisfied, I am too.
Wonderful time for the whole family! Friendly staff, cant believe we never made it when we lived down that way
Good trip for kids and adults to take a break, if weather is good.
Cool reindeer but the maze was a little muddy, probably a better time when its dry
Really fine place for the family...friendly staff!
Its decent. Didnt get to see any reindeers but gazed upwards and there was a sky full of starts, a truly pretty sight. They have an amazing maze where you have to find 8 treasures within a certain time frame.
This was a fun place to go.. But the best part is feeding the reindeer. There is a place to eat and other activities for young ones, but you can make it a quick trip if you just feed the reindeer.
The girls had so much fun feeding the reindeer. They keep everything as clean. It is a really nice experience.
Love this place! First time coming here. A little expensive, but worth it. Especially if you have kids or love Christmas
This ranch is a great place to bring your family or youth group. With pedal operated go-karts, hay ride, corn maze, etc. this place is a whole lot of fun.
Great place to visit with family, friends and kids . Food to eat, gift shop, and rest rooms, outside play area for kids . Friendly knowledgeable staff group tours available.
We love this place
Oh how sweet these reindeer are! Im definitely going back!
Great family owned. my kids loved petting the reindeer.
Great place. Great people. Will definitely go there again.
Very cool!
Had a blast. Recommend going in October thru Christmas
Great experience. we pet and fed the reindeer - I even kissed one which is a mixed bag experience. Very nice owners and amazing corn maze.
If you enjoy nature and good food this is the place to see.
16 reindeer, corn maze, gift shop, and other attractions on the site make it an enjoyable place to spend a few hours. Located west of Rantoul and I-57 (exit 250), 1 mile south of US-136; follow the signs. Mark and Julie Hardy are great folks.
Fun for smaller children. The 4 year old loved it, especially feeding the reindeer.
Friendly people, friendly reindeer and a huge but friendly golden retriever makes this a very nice place to visit. I enjoyed it very much. It was worth the 2 hour drive from Peoria.
Nice tree farm with lots of activities for kids! Plus you get to cut your own tree down!
We have been coming to hardys for many many years! The trees are very expensive but we could justify their prices for the experience with the reindeers! On 2 separate occasions we have been informed by the owners that we have to pay a group rate to shop and spend money at their business! I have a daycare is why they told me to pay a group rate in advance. . When I had my 3 own children and 1 daycare child. My friends were with us and had their own children! When I was asked if I had daycare I said yes. But by no means was it a daycare field trip! They were very rude about it. The second occasion was just a few weeks ago. The sign in front said open... the sign on store door said closed. We walked out to their trees for a picture and the owner was not very happy and informed us that we needed to pay to take a picture! Really?? We spend over 150.00 for tree and ornaments and they want paid for a photograph? Not great Christmas cheer people! We just purchased our tree at sunset tree farm in Mansfield! What a wonderful experience! Free cookies and hot chocolate! Trees were alot cheaper and when we went to pay .... they dont take credit. They had us take the tree and just asked us to mail a check! Thats amazing ! Totally different Christmas experience! !
Great place real reindeer there.perfect for kids and adults.
We visited the Reindeer Ranch on a dreary day. Everything was closed, without any kind of notice, except for the reindeer tour (which was awesome) The gift shop had very little to choose from and the girl working in there was extremely rude. I tried to ask her some questions as it was our first visit, and she was very short and abrupt, not helpful at all. She was that way to all who tried to talk to her. Not sure we will make another trip there.
