I lived in Raleigh for a year. I was introduced to Game Theory through a friend and quickly became a regular. I worked there during the day when I worked from home, I frequented for board games nights, dnd nights through adventurers league, met a former girlfriend there, etc. I love the staff, the people there, their selection, & their prices. It will forever have a warm place in my heart and I always try to stop by when Im in the area. Great place.

This is an excellent game store! It has a lot of space that they put to good use. They have an immense board game area - I tried to do it justice in my pictures but I probably fell short - that we just spent over 45 minutes browsing. They also have a lot of role playing games and miniture games, too. The staff is super-great and their open gaming area is huge and has a sizable game library that you can play to try, too.

Ive been there a few times earlier this year but this is the first time it has been in uncertain times. They were very nice then and very nice now, always offering help, and advice, theyre gamers and not just businessfolk. Everyones got a mask, most seem to know each other, its like the gamers version of Cheers. I havent played there but they seem to have tournaments and campaigns and game nights. Oh also, tons of stuff, minis, rpgs, comics, card games of all kinds, paints and dice and everything else you could need. Great place.

Game Theory has been my local game store for over 10 years. Theyve had a consistent, amazing staff for as long as Ive gone there. They are set up well to handle social distancing and take amazing care of our gaming needs from afar.Thank you to the staff for years of providing a safe space to be my nerdy self, heres to many more years when we can play there again.

I love this store. Excellent selection if youre looking for RPGs or for box games. The dice are so nicely organized and its easy to find what youre looking for. Everything is spaced out enough you can maintain distance. This is probably the cleanest and best lit game store Ive ever been in. No straining to read boxes in dark back corners and no ancient boxes covered in dust. If you like to browse and read the boxes this place is perfection. The staff was the real highlight. They were knowledgeable, friendly, just incredibly nice to interact with. Possibly the best part was they also give you space. Want to just browse? No pressure. Have a question? They were on the ball and available. I love store staff who are helpful but not intrusive and this team is possibly the best example I have ever seen. For the people I saw who were just dropping in to pick something up they were efficient and immediate. I asked for recommendations and got knowledgeable and insightful recommendations. The team here really seems like they love the games and community around them. I will absolutely be back and hope they can hold events again safely soon.tl:dr Store is 10/10 game shopping experience with good people. You should go.

I went in yesterday to buy some games. Great store, great selection, great prices... The staff actually know about the games they sell which is pretty impressive due to the amount of games they carry. They have games that cover all age brackets... If you want to support local business, and need to buy a game this is the place. Also - pick up some Tacos down the street at Los Dos Toquitos.

Nice store with a great layout and a lot of interesting and fun looking products. They stock up with some very cool stuff that most stores wouldnt. The staff is friendly and helpful. I came to shop for Magic cards while visiting the area. I will say that their Magic singles prices were just a bit higher next to the prices I had quoted from another store, but they had some cards that the other store didnt. Overall, seems like a cool spot to get in some games with friends and find some unique stuff to play.

This is the worst game store Ive ever been to. Unhelpful staff, lied to me about prices and even after that I was willing to pay their outdated machines couldnt even take a card swipe or a chip read. Tried to pay with phone and it still wouldnt read. Ive tried on three occasions to give this place a chance and they always underperform ever time. Spend your money somewhere else thats worth it.

Excellent, fun place to go play games. They have a great demo library thats free to play and everybody there is very friendly and helpful. Would recommend for buying and game nights. Just all around fun and great place.

Its a pretty cool store, however they are generally uninformed about covid 19 and the fact that they require face masks is ultimately a constitutional violation. Ill be sticking to hangar 18 and gamers armory as they have no such ridiculous restrictions.

This place is always packed Friday through Sunday, and most evenings. The owner and staff are very knowledgeable and always willing to help. If they dont have something theyll order it for you. They even have a section of board games for you to try out before purchasing which is awesome. At Barnes and Noble if you purchase a game, try it and dont like it, youre stuck with it. Not here.

My friend and I are visiting, and it was raining today so we decided to pop on by as we love games.This store is massive. On the left side, when you enter, there are tons of tables set up for playing, and today there was a MtG tournament going on, so there wasnt any room for us to try out any demo games.But, if you turn to the right when you enter, you will see a ton of board games and tabletop supplies. Seriously, the collection was massive! It was also very varied, with games for kids, games for two players, and some typical party games.The staff was also very helpful as well.We will definitely return next time we are in town.

Amazing staff friendly knowledgeable. You want to gather and meet folks this is the place every person I’ve met here from the D&D sessions have been great. I’ve poked my head in. The people that work here are awesome and really helpful and knowledgeable. My wife and I came looking for some games we could play with our kids and came away with a wealth of suggestions.The demo games they have available for play testing are great, since our kids were staying with relatives for the week, my wife and I ended up going there nearly every day to play or buy games.It is also a great place to meet other gamers and to play games, as they have a bunch of tables set up all the time and host regular events at the store, and even when there arent events going on, it seems people are always playing games.The variety of games available is also incredible. I highly recommend this store.

I have gone to every gane shop I can find in Wake and Cumberland counties. This is my favorite. You can also make a Magic singles order on their website, and stop by the shop to pick it up same day. The shop has an open play area, it is very clean and well lit, great gaming selections and some cool table top accessories for your RPGs.

Great place. Been going here since they first opened in a tiny location. Theyve moved twice since then and gotten bigger and better each time. Great selection of games, and lots of active communities and events. Located near several food choices, they also have reasonably priced snacks in store. One of my favorite things is they have a rotating stock of board games you can borrow and play for free (to play in-store, not take home). I think they will also lend you terrain for war gaming.Highly recommend going here.

Though it may be a bit noisy at times depending on what games are being played, the overall crowd is really good and those who are running the games are really friendly.

Played d&d with a great group of people. Loved that the store part had the mini figurine that we were looking for. Great options of dice, board games and such. Plenty of playing mats to choose from. Magic players had plenty of tables so it wasnt crowded! Will visit again when we move here! (We checked out other game shops in the area...this was our fav!)

We found this place by an accident, when we went to Raleigh for the day. They carried many different board games, sleeves, deck boxes, play mats, packs, singles, dice and card games. My husband was able to pick up a new deck from Vanguard for his friend and I got a huge deck case for us for $60. The people they have working there are very nice and they dont have a minimum that you have to pay with a debt card. We will plan to go back in the near future.

I (like many other Magic: The Gathering players in the area, from my understanding) started coming to this store after previously having been a loyal Event Horizon Games customer, and I do not regret moving at all! The store is huge, with the majority of its space dedicated to lots of large tables for gamepaly. Plus, theres a large selection of demo board games you can try out for free (without the need to find a staff member to take them out from somewhere. Theyre on an easily-accessible shelf!), so even just coming empty-handed with some friends can be a good time!Personally, Im a Magic: The Gathering player, though, and this is my go-to store for Friday Night Magic in the triangle! The staff is all super friendly and if you go often enough, theyll end up getting to know and recognize you, and that playerbase is quite the same! I recently moved and hadnt been into the store in months, but I recently stopped by to visit some friends and the staff remembered me and asked me where/how Id been! It was a really nice moment and attests to the whole stores vibe being more akin to a circle of friends than a retail location. Furthermore, the store hosts a large number of events all throughout the week, from quarterly Store Championships that can win you flight and hotel costs to the next major tournament to drafts three nights a week. The prize payout typically rewards top 50% (rather than my personally preferred prize-out of pack-per-win). However, if you are a consistently good MTG player, this is a huge plus as well. It really is an amazing location to play MTG at on just about all fronts.Of course, this isnt just a place to play games, but also to buy them. While it doesnt have quite the variety of products Event Horizon (the other local game store near me at the time), the prices are much cheaper and they always have new releases on their launch day at MSRP (as opposed to additionally marking up limited-release items or premium products like Event Horizon often does). Furthermore, this store has hands-down the best MTG singles selection I have ever seen at a local game store anywhere. While you might be able to find a slightly better deal for a lot of singles online (prices on singles here tend to be around TCGPlayer mid), the convenience of being able to order card and pick them up within the same hour and pay for them in store (and in cash, if you want) is worth the small upcharge. They also have a large buylist and offer extra back if you take store credit over cash, which makes selling singles to the store easy and worthwhile. Of course, theyre buying your cards at a reduced price since they have to sell them back at a profit, but that should be expected and all local game stores with buylists do that.Over all, if you are looking for a local game store in the triangle area, especially if youre a Magic: The Gathering Player, go here and just about nowhere else. It really is the best in the area!

Good place for gaming. They tend to be a little full though and can make hearing others in your game a bit difficult. On the other hand, its free gaming space thats pretty handy as well.As a shop they have a good amount of inventory with quite a large selection. The staff here is quite friendly.

Game Theory is a wonderful store. They have been around since I was in college and they do right by their long term regulars which is essential to maintaining a healthy gaming store. They have a semi-annual yard sale type deal that they either invented or were one of the first to start around here and its so excellent for cycling unused games. They dont always run their more casual tournaments well but on the flip side the atmosphere and aesthetic of the place is unrivaled in this area.

There are not many stores that I will go in just to blow time but...Game Theory is one of them. There is always something fun going on or someone looking for a pickup game. The staff is knowlegable about the games and they have never pointed me in the wrong direction with any game.Always my go-to store!

I have been able to find someone with experience each time that I have a question about a game.They also host board game nights, so people can schedule long-term games, or you can test play something you are interested in buying.

Appliance world was an excellent stop! The salesmen were knowledgeable, the environment was peaceful, and the whole experience was perfect. We had come from big box stores (Home Depot, Sears,...) where the base price was lower, but the installation and removal needed to be done at separate times with high charges (amounting to nearly as much as the dishwasher itself). Here they had an excellent contact that could handle the removal of our old dishwasher and installation for one charge (no need to buy installation kits, and handle multiple trips). We just purchased so we will definitely review the installation once it occurs. Best appliance buying experience!

I miss the old location with the mural wall but the alway offered great conversations and wonder for any nerd or newbi to explore. Overall one of the better local game shops Ive been to with a fairly large selection, while they did have a good selection, they did not have what I was looking for in stock and in one case take over 3 months to order if I wanted.

Great place for Magic the gathering! I prefer Yu-Gi-Oh but they had all! Card sleeves, anything! Im glad I went. And will happily go back. However I would recommend to add more structure decks to your shelves. Yugis and others. But yeah, all the bad reviews dont make sense to me. This place was great, just a little more yugioh and possibly more individual cards, for Yu-Gi-Oh and Pokemon.
