What a incredible place from the moment we walked in the door staff was friendly facility was clean, The owner has great communication skills, very organized company!
Good swim school & I love the small class size. My son really enjoys his lessons here and his teacher is awesome! However I’m giving 3 stars because I’ve noticed that the customer service is “selective. Consistently I’ve noticed that upon arrival and departure only select families get any interaction from the front desk staff. I’m not looking for a whole lot but it’s pretty noticeable when you show up and no one says hello but several families that arrive later receive a greeting. Same thing goes for when we leave...nothing but others that leave before us get a “Have a good night, see you next time” It’d be different if the front desk is busy during these times but that’s not the case at all. It’s been a couple of months that I’ve noticed this behavior and the only reason I haven’t stopped coming is because my son enjoys the class. FYI we all pay the same tuition and it is noticeable when you pick and chose whom to interact with. Customers shouldn’t feel excluded.
We have been with Coach Morgan of Triangle Swim School for about a year. We can see a big increase in skills since we started. Coach Morgan is fantastic! The kids have fun but Coach Morgan still ensures that they learn proper technique. Coach Morgan is patient and you can really tell that she enjoys teaching. Also the low student/teacher ratios at Triangle Swim School make a big difference! We love Coach Morgan!
Well priced with a big heated pool, but does not have the comforts & amenities of some of the pricier swim schools. Instructors were mediocre to poor when it came to dealing with high anxiety students. Staff & owners are courteous, but a bit stern. My kids left after two months because they did not enjoy the classes and their anxiety around water had increased, not improved. My advice: if your kid is very scared of the pool, avoid these types of schools and go for a reputable independent private teacher who is willing & able to be a bit more flexible with their methods.
My kids love their teacher. We were at British Swim Club but due to an accident that increased my kids fear of water, we switched to Triangle Swim School. My kids have gained confidence and go underwater without fear.
Due to a bad experience I had with a swimming instructor when I was young, I gave up on learning swimming. After 10 years of giving up, I gathered courage to start with swim lessons again. Kevin, my instructor, is amazing and absolutely fantastic. He started with very basic tasks to make sure I am comfortable with water. I would totally recommend this school, also, the instructor.
My son has been taking lessons at TSS for over 18 months, and with Coach Taylor for nearly 12 of those months. We have been so pleased with Coach Taylor, we even changed our schedule so that we could continue lessons with her when her schedule changed.Coach Taylor displays 3 characteristics that impress me in an instructor. First, she is organized with a clear plan. She knows what she wants to teach each week, remembers where my son was the previous week, and has a plan for the steps she is going to take to help my son learn and accomplish the next skill. Next, she is patient. She is not fazed by the short attention span of a 3- or 4-year-old boy. She remains calm and refocuses him when necessary, and has multiple approaches she can use to teach a skill if one is not resonating with him. Finally, she makes the lesson fun. She breaks up long period of intense skill work with a short game break. She uses words that kids can relate to and remember in order to teach skills, like pizza arms to indicate making circles. Overall we are so pleased with Coach Taylor, and would recommend her to anyone. Her strong organizational skills, patience, and ability to make difficult concepts fun and memorable mean that she will be successful in whatever she chooses to do!
My 4-year old has been learning to swim at Triangle Swim School for 4 months now and we are thrilled with his progress. The small coach to swimmer ratio is what makes this school so effective, not to mention the fantastic coaches. My sons coach knows just how to speak to a 4 year old in order to get him engaged, excited, and swimming properly. Hes safe and entertained when the coach is working with the other swimmer. The facility is well maintained, clean. The staff are friendly and organized. I would highly recommend Triangle Swim School to anyone who wants their child to know how to swim properly and how to be safe around water.
This is our second year with Triangle Swim School (Raleigh location) and we couldnt be happier! Coach Heather is an exceptional instructor for our little guy who is now 3. She is exceptionally patient, loving and FUN! My husband and son love taking her class. In fact the class has lots of Dad/child combos and Coach Heather makes everyone feel welcome and special. The personal attention that each child gets in the pool is outstanding. The facilities are always very clean and they rotate the toys and props used in the class, which keeps our son interested and eager to learn. Also they have a waiting area with more toys -- another big hit! Most importantly his progress has been stellar. Our son is learning how to float and swim independently and is excited to be doing so. Im confident that he will be swimming the width of the pool by himself soon. He went from not liking to get wet at all to diving to the bottom of the pool in search of treasure. The pool is always warm which makes swimming year round delightful. Also if there is ever a time they have to cancel class due to weather(which is rare), they have a really cool alert system that notifies you promptly. I cant say enough about how pleased we are with Triangle Swim School and particularly Coach Heather! We will be using them for many years to come.
We have had a great experience so far with this swim school. My son LOVES coming to lessons and looks forward to it every week. We especially love his instructor Jesse. She is amazing with him and he adores her!
My children and I enjoyed our experience at the Triangle Swim School in Raleigh. Jesse was a great instructor that knew how to keep the kids engaged. Both of my children progressed well with her instruction. I am very thankful that we decided to attend swimming lessons at this facility.
Taylor has been a wonderful coach for my son. Shes knowledgeable and comfortable in the water. Her kindness and patience are welcoming to her students and their parents. One of her most impressive attributes is her ability to deal with an energetic and sometimes inattentive 4yr old boy. Taylor comes highly recommended from my family.
Triangle swim school is the best place to learn swimming. Coach Stacey is great! Coach Stacey is not only professional but also warmhearted coach. My daughter loves to swim with her. Thus, my daughter has been taking two classes in a week with coach Stacey. From the first, we have been very satisfied with her! Thank you always!
Miss Heather has been awesome. Our daughter was not confident in the water and after a short time with Miss Heather she is very confident. Over the last several months she is learning various strokes and looks forward to her class every week. Thank you so much! We see such a great difference in her confidence and abilities.
The school is very clean, and the instructors are awesome! We have had at least4 instructors since my child started here, including Coach Matt, the owner. Every one of them has been great. Coach Drew teaches her now, and she has been really excited to go there, and looks forward to her swimming day.The place is well maintained, and they are very diligent with communication in case of class cancellations on account of weather or other unplanned events. All in all, we are very happy with TSS!
Priceless. My near-drowning child went from screaming and refusing to even open the door to the pool her first lesson back– to now daily asking “is it time for me to swim with Coach Heather yet?” That’s what TRIANGLE SWIM SCHOOL has done for us…and well worth the drive as we do live outside of Raleigh. To a mom who saw her child in the ambulance, who stayed overnight in a hospital - where we are now - is simply PRICELESS. I still pinch myself each week watching her progress, her love of the water and the amazing trust she has in her teacher, Coach Heather, in such a short amount of time. The confidence in herself is amazing and considering the ‘family’ feel this place has, she knows if she looks out after achieving a new skill, she’ll see more than just me cheering her on…other coaches, the office staff, other parents there and of course Coach Heather. Coach Heather not only understood her backstory, she also helped her with her sensory ‘quirks.’ She knows what I mean when I say “It’s an ‘off’ day – even thinking of ways to include heavy work to help her calm down without her even realizing it. Her patience, calm demeanor work so well with kids – to a point she can be calm yet push them to new skills to achieve. She helps them to be self-confident. And the parents that you surround yourself with...When my daughter did cry/scream that day, I didn’t know whether to push her to try or not. Once I came back from actually putting my legs in the pool to show her it was okay, I did wonder how it looked to others, but I was immediately greeted by parents saying ‘I’ve been there, and now look at my baby in there. She’s learning to do different strokes now!” “Don’t give up, it’ll all come together.” Parents who were complete strangers quickly became friends. Coaches and staff who have become more like family. And a facility that makes swimming FUN. Their very useful aids, equipment, etc. can help a child but at the same time take their mind off the ‘scary’ water part. Kids LOVE swim school and that’s how it should be!I’ll never be able to repay Triangle Swim for what they’ve done for my girl so far (she is determined to be on a swim team next year!) but I can share my experience and hope you all join Triangle Swim and watch your child make incredible strides like I am.
Our experience has been wonderful. Coach Taylor is the best she has a great since of humor and knows how to connect with the kids but at the same time knows how to get students to do the things they need to do without them being afraid. Triangle swim has the program that any parent would want for their child to learn in. they focus on the basics and teach your child the right way to swim and have fun at the same time. Our son now has the foundation to be a great swimmer and go as far as he want within aquatics.
Coach Taylor is a wonderful coach who teaches my 7 year-old son very patiently and with smiles that makes my son relaxed. My son did not understand English at first but she dealt with that wonderfully and made my son love coming here. Weve had her over a year and the improvements I see in my son is phenomenal. Thank you for all the efforts and look forward to seeing how my son will grow going forward.
Ms. Taylor knew just how to approach our daughters fears and has created a confident swim student. Now, she looks forward to each lesson and learns new skills each week. We gave her a tough case but Taylor made it fun and her creativity worked. We appreciate Taylors gentle but firm encouragement - shes a pro!
We have been coming to triangle swim for years now and the improvement we have seen in our kids is astonishing. Kevin has been doing a great job with our girls and teaching them proper technique all while having fun. Great job Kevin they love coming here!!!
Our boys (ages 4 and 6) went from being terrified of water in the face in the shower to full blown cannonballs in just a few months with Coach Heather! We are amazed at how quickly she gets them to master a new skill. She is just the right combination of excitement, encouragement, and motivation --- and she knows how to keep our busy boys focused during their class together, and we like that!
My children have been enrolled at the convenient Raleigh location (across from Triangle Town Center) for 6+ months. We find the top-notch instruction so valuable that each child has a lesson twice a week. They have learned the basics and are focusing on learning new strokes, now! Instructors communicate appropriately on each childs level. They emphasize safety as well as swimming skills. Instructors update parents on childrens progress after each class. The owner is a swim coach and that reflects positively in the training of employees. The kids beg to stay longer after each lesson! I wish they could, but actually the lessons are the right length of time for a childs workout. Even if they dont realize it, they are truly tired from the fun exercise! I would highly recommend Triangle Swim School. Its a happy place!
Thank you Triangle Swim School for providing such a great facility and instruction. Heather is wonderful!!!!! She has the patience, knowledge, and experience to take any child forward in their initial or current swim experience. Only wish we found her sooner and did not have to wait so long to finalize our swim time. Great instructors are worth waiting for!!!!!
My 8 mo old and I take swim classes with Coach Heather here and he just loves it! Hes very comfortable being held by Heather and she makes me feel reassured about dunking him under the water, haha. The class is a nice mix of mostly led group activities and a bit of free time to practice. I appreciate that its always kept so warm in the pool so my baby never gets cold.
We have really enjoyed our experience at TSS. The staff is friendly and helpful. The swim teachers are wonderful with the children. My 9 year old looks forward to going every week for his private lesson. Alex is the best!
I did 2 months of the parent and toddler class with my 2 year old son. I would have cancelled after the first 2 classes but there is a 30 day notice requirement on top of the one month minimum. The instructor was very friendly, but there was not much direction. We would swim around in a circle a few times, spray their heads, sing a couple songs and spend the remaining 15 to 20 minutes doing whatever the parent wanted. There was no skill development or guidance on how to improve the toddlers experience in the water. Every class was the exact same and my son was truly bored. This school may be great for an older child with one-on-one lessesons, but I would not recommend the parent and toddler class.
Triangle Swim School has been a great experience. Coach Stacy has done a great job teaching my son Jordan to swim. He looks forward to going every week. The staff is always nice and professional, and Im looking forward to continue to watch my son grow as a swimmer.
Coach Taylor has been instructing my boys for over a year. She is patient, caring, and has high expectations of performance. Their swimming skills are constantly improving. Coach Taylor has a balance of instruction and fun.
**update**My son is almost 4 years old now and I am still loving this school. He has a series of teachers, each having something great about them. Right now he is with Coach Kevin. He is so patient and kind spirited. He really speaks to my sons level, and makes the lesson fun. He coaches with great skill and technique. I’m very happy to have him as our coach right now. This swim school is amazing!! My son has been going since 6 months- He is 2.5 now, and this summer we put him on a wakeboard! He had the skills and confidence to that because of this school. We love our trips to the lake and I love being a mom with a child who in comfortable in the water. Thanks, TSS for all you do!
They have the best instructors. Alex is very patient and accommodating. My son has come a long way in Alexs class. Great job!!
Triangle Swim School has been great for us! Love the location and staff. Do yourself a favor and ask for Coach Jesse! She’s our favorite!
We have been going to Triangle Swim School for a year and a half. All of the toddler staff were wonderful and attentive and helpful in teaching my daughter basic skills. We just started the next level of classes and Coach Melanie is great!
Love the place. Coach Drew is fantastic! Tough when he needs to be tough and playful with the kids when he need to be. Kids love coach Drew. He brings out the best in kids.
My sons (ages 5 and 3) both attend Triangle Swim School. The class sizes are small, the coaches are all wonderful, and they provide the right amount of individual attention to make lessons informative and fun. Give them a try!
Miya has always loved water, however when it came to learning to swim she was not having it. I enrolled her in classes with the Wake County program between age 1 to 2 and she never got comfortable enough with trying to learn to swim, she just wanted to play. Within the few classes Miya has taken with Kevin R. at Triangle Swim she has grown more confident with allowing herself to learn to swim. I was extremely impressed with how after just 2 classes she will now put her face in the water willingly. Even with Miya being in the 2 child course Kevin has done a excellent job keeping an eye on her and keeping her entertained while learning.
Triangle Swim School has been a phenomenal experience for us! The instructors are knowledgeable and patient! The small classes allow for lots of individualized instruction and great progress!
My niece and my daughter love to swim with their coach really happy for them. And Im so lucky to found this school.
TSS North Raleigh, is awesome for year round training! The staff is very patient, polite, professional & knowledgeable about their passion to teach others to swim!
They have a systematic approach that is working well with my boys. We also like the low student teacher ratio. This is a great swim school!
My daughter was extremely anxious about the water and learning to swim. We had tried parent/child classes since she was a baby and then city classes and even private lessons but none of them were able to deal with her anxiety and get her comfortable in the water and making progress toward swimming. I tried TSS because I wanted consistent, year-round lessons. My plan was that wed just go weekly FOREVER until she learned, lol. Right away, I was impressed because they were able to turn one of their normal 2-kid classes into a sibling class so both my kids could swim together. Also, I like the facility - its clean and theres a comfortable parent area where you can watch the whole pool from behind a big glass wall. Thats just the right amount of removal - the kids know youre there and watching but youre not right there poolside to distract them.As I expected, my daughter was not super cooperative at first, but Mr. Drew, our swim instructor, had a ton of toys that got her comfortable first with just standing in the water, and then pouring water on her arms, and then walking around the sides of the pool, etc. This continued over time until now shes totally comfortable with going under water, putting her face in the water and swimming across the pool, and floating on her back. I can see her confidence and skill growing and Im finally confident that shell learn to swim. We still have some work to do, but well definitely be sticking with TSS.
Coach Alex is doing a great job with my boys. They have both learned how to swim and are now trying different strokes.
Lovely and patient trainers and staff...
My kids love Triangle Swim School! Especially Coach Matt!
We have been at TSS for almost 2 years, and had Ms. Taylor for about a year. She is very kind, patient, and helped our swimmer progress so much. Even though weve moved up to a different age group, our little swimmer gets excited every time she sees Ms. Taylor at the pool.
Wow! What expert swim instructors!
