Great time. Greens were perfect. So was the weather. We were a large slow team so gig get a polite nudge to pick up the pace from the course keeper.Bummer. Dont blame him but he was very polite and respectful.
Easy to create a tee time online and a decent deal with a cart yet high for the course conditions. Played on a warm day in early March and the course was still dormant. Greens rolled nicely. Course layout was challenging and some course knowledge or GPS would have helped. Biggest disappointment was the pace of play. Some groups of 4 with three carts, 2 walkers with a cart, then a single, then 2 doubles. a number of backups on a few of the tee boxes. Will need to try another time when in season and perhaps not as busy.
Fun track, decent price. In my top 2 favorite public non-collegiate courses in the area. It was in surprisingly good form for this July heat.
Very happy with my first ever experience here. So many elevation changes and honestly the outline from 1-18 is brilliant. Start out with a par four, back to a par three, then to a par four again just to bounce to a par three again. Forgot the name of the lad who designed this course but definitely beautiful. Also for January the course was in immaculate conditions.
Great course. Great service in the tavern. Will definitely play there again!
This place has turned into a goat track. Years ago when it was under different ownership it was one of the nicest courses in the area. Now it is full of weeds; washed out fairways; completely bare tee boxes and greens that have weeds growing in them. When the preference is to hit out of the rough than you know the course is in bad shape. There are better courses in the area at cheaper rates to play. I hope they turn it around.
Played the course twice in the past two weeks. The course is in great shape. The greens are beautiful. The best condition the course has been in for the last 6 years. The staff has put a lot time and effort into bringing this course back up to the level it was years ago. The pro shop staff is great too!
Nice course!
The links here are superb! Every single member of staff that we passed said hello or good morning, very polite. My golfing colleagues and I were in Raleigh for a weekend and ended up playing 36 holes. I would highly recommend a visit at this club !!
Great course seriously hindered by lack of starter or marshall. The first tee is a a free for all, no one maintains pace of play. Was on pace for a 5.5 hr round before calling it quits.
Crowded course full of players with no concept of etiquette.
Played there for the first time last week. I thought it was in great shape. The course definitely gives you challenges. Overall, it was a fun course. Plus, the twilight rate is great!
Great service at the bar,
New to the area and was told at one time this course was in poor condition. However, that is far from true now. This course is in excellent condition and a very interesting course to play. Lots of challenges and beautiful scenery. Ignore any past poor reviews!
Would not honor non - expiring GrouponShady
This course deserves a 4-4.5/5. Not sure what the low rating is about but the layout (albeit tricky) is fantastic, definitely a shot makers course; I highly suggest playing your typical tee as course plays much longer than listed. Greens are superb, fairways could use a touch more attention but for the money you cannot beat this course. Right on par with river ridge and Lonnie Poole IMO. Enjoy!
Wanted to play Sunday morning but they had a member event. Decided to wait and tee off in the afternoon. Im glad I did. Greens rolled great. Some bunkers needed work but over all I would give it an 8-10. A hidden gem
Amazing Course with amazing staff. Jesse Meath (Head Pro) and Kyle Bryant (Asst. Pro) we’re great with helping me get my tee time secured and having a great round. The brand new Carts were an excellent addition as they had informed me before I went out for my round. Summer Tate ( Asst. to the Pro) is great at regripping any clubs needed and other club repair or club orders that you may want. Can’t go wrong with Eagle Ridge Golf Club !
I tried calling the clubhouse to schedule a tee time for about 30 minutes. Got answering machine every time. Finally just hoped for the best and went anyway. Good thing I was by myself and not a corporate event. Customer service is lacking and the clubhouse was virtually unmanned. Course still in rough shape since new ownership took over. Overall average but could be much better....
I noticed most of the reviews are not very current for Eagle Ridge. The course is in very good shape right now as management has given a lot of focus. The greens were replaced last fall and are now well established. Fairways are also in excellent condition.
Have to laugh at some of the past reviews. I have played at Eagle Ridge over the past year several times, and always had a pleasant experience. The staff has always been friendly and accommodating. The layout of this course is really fair and challenging, and plays tough from the tips. The greens are always in great shape and roll true. I would recommend this course to any one looking for a good challenge to test your skills. I will play there again.Cons: The only thing that I would say negative about this course on is price of the bag of balls for the range. For the size of it I would say its worth $3 and not 5.
Nice course however if you have food allergies they don’t have anything you can eat after 18 holes.
Welcome back, Eagle Ridge! There has been a lot of uncertainty as to the courses future. It is now part of the Fred Smith Company, which should help with the management issues of the past.Carted the whole 18, and despite the tropical storm remnants, it looked like the fairways and greens were in good if not perfect shape.Would like to go back to play sometime soon.
This Tom Kite course is wonderful, the very definition of tough but fair. It features a good mix of long and short holes, and the conditions are generally good, esp. the greens. Some are taken aback by the copious homes encroaching the course, esp. on the back-9. But, after several rounds you forget about this and concentrate on the course, which features a smattering of forced carries, water, fairway bunkers, and dramatic green complexes. $63 summer weekend rate is too high; however, see the website to purchase a $49 round after 11:30 on Sat.-Sun. A local favorite, pace of play is often a problem during weekends.
I played nine holes with my daughter and we really enjoyed the course. Check-in was a breeze and the folks in the club house were terrific. I loved the practice area, it was very large and included a bunker area as well. There was some winter kill that effected the fairways and greens but Ive seen that with a lot of our courses this year. Even with some bare spots on the greens they putted very nicely, the speed felt the same on every hold. I would rate this course five once the fairways and green fill in and I would suggest they work on killing some of the weeds. Ill be back :-)
I would love to give this course a negative score. First time coming to the course and it is the hardest place to find. No signs telling you which way to go in a subdivision to get to the clubhouse. We established 12 tee times, the guy set us up at the wrong course to start with. We had a big group and we were all paying and they wanted to limit us. The course is crap at best. I would rather play at a minigolf than this. Service was horrible. No body coming around offering drinks. The course is in rough shape and isnt taken care of. STAY AWAY. Go spend your money somewhere else.
They are very strict with their policy and for me thats fine. But there are some staff that are not friendly and accommodating. Their service are slightly slow, but they have a beautiful view.
Great place. Really enjoyed this club very nice and respectful folks.
Drug test management and grounds crew!!!!! The fairways are in horrible condition!!! Not one level spot anywhere. Looks like they havent touched the fairways since last fall. Ripples of grass clippings all over the place. From standing and run off water. Not one place to have a flat lie!!!! Wouldnt be bad but they actually want top dollar ($65) on weekends. So many other courses around that offer a nice round for the money. Needs months to recover from the lack of attention. Seems to be another of the Fred Smith minimum care of their courses like the no grass fairways goat track at olde liberty in Youngsville.
This course is about average. If you are still learning the game of golf this is not a bad course to play. There are some shorter par 4s that bring strategy into play. If I remember correctly a power fade works very well on this course. If you are a slicer of the ball, which many newbies are, you can play that on this course. The greens were ok when I went to the course but they were not amazing. I am a member of Hasentree so I cant really make an assessment on greens that are played by the public.
Course was in good shape and pace of play was ok.
Very nice course and challenging as well .The Head pro Jessie M vas very personable. Will come back and play again . Making a lot of improvements to course
Played on 8/16/17, course was in great shape, and staff were helpful and courteous. Look forward to our group playing there again.
