Amazing place with the kindest, nicest staff! My favorite place to buy gifts as they have such a large selection there of such unique items. Highly, highly recommend. One of the best places in Raleigh imo
I wish I could give it a 0. Was trying to shop with my mom & kids and was met at the door with a where is your mask. Cant shop with no mask. I said are medical exemptions not allowed? The man with long grey hair said what Is your medical exemption? I told him medical information is private & doesnthave to be disclosed to him. He then proceeded to say he wasnt going to argue if we wanted to expose people to our germs. If their masks work, then they should be protected. He was so rude we decided against looking around and supporting his business. Moving not far from here and looking for new antique stores to frequent. Wont be stepping foot in this one again
All of the merchandise was cool to look at and I could imagine being happy spending hours walking around and looking for the next awesome find! Although the merchandise and shop I would rate a 5/5, the customer experience part is what brings my review to 2/5. My friend and I entered the shop about 13 minutes before they closed, and they let us know they were closing in about 10 minutes, so we acknowledged their warning and proceeded to make a quick loop to just look around. After 5 minutes, an employee, not wearing a mask, approached us (while not respecting the 6-foot rule) and proceeded to tell us they were closing and we needed to leave. We were confused as to why we were being rushed out when there were other people in the store, but we were more than willing to comply! After we assured him that we would head out, he proceeded to make a rude comment about my friend and her confusion to why we were being told to leave early. He then continued to follow us at a distance of about 3 feet (not 6!) until we were ushered to the stairwell. Maybe it was just the time of day, but I wasn’t pleased with the customer service.
Come the day AFTER payday or youll die. So many amazing things to invest in [wink]. They have almost every album ever put on vinyl and every nicest employee in the world. Go there...NOW! Go spend money on awesome things!!! GO!!!!
A+ antique shop! So many cool things to see. Make sure you give yourself at least 2 hours to look at everything because you will get sucked in! Will definitely return.
Little pricey but you can spend hours here. Its huge and the people that work there are very helpful
Excellent shop! Very eclectic vibe
Beautiful mall and very cordial people
Very interesting,lots of oldie goldies.
Incredible place! They sell everything under the Sun from furniture to books to records to anything you can imagine.
Very fun place to treasure hunt. Wish there was a map so I could make sure I saw everything. Reasonable prices, for the most part. Lots of beautiful midcentury furniture. It made me want to get rid of everything I have and start over furnishing my house. Look forward to visiting again.
I always love spending time here. Walking around finding treasures. Great place to find thoughtful wedding gifts.
This place is a never ending cave of treasures! I say cave because it’s on the basement level. I never make it through the entire place when I go and I always find something new and/or interesting with each visit. Worth making a regular stop, especially if you like peddlers malls and thrift stores like me.
A great place and well mixed between antiques and vintage items. Great Vinyl and Audio collection. Most comics are way overpriced but the vintage book selection is great.
Love this place especially the booths with all of the mid-century modern furniture and accessories. Found the most awesome ice bucket!
This place is pretty cool, and it has a massive selection of a wide variety of collectible or practical objects; from furniture and jewelry to knick-knacks and vintage magazines. Id give it five stars if the pricing was more consistent though. You can find some items that are very reasonably priced, to then find a seemingly cheap or near-worthless item that is priced way too high for what it is. I also wish they had a bit more variety in the practical category, as the vast majority (though it is a wide selection) are knick-knacks and random household items; some of which can be pretty beat up. If they had more clothes for example, Id imagine theyd receive more people willing to thrift there. However, it is still an interesting place that is worth a visit, especially if youre trying to kill some time in Cameron Village.
Good selection of moderately priced antiques and a good variety of mid century modern
My friend and I were immediately followed by an employee the moment we walked in which made me feel uncomfortable and not trusted. We were admiring a set of novelty stools and I sat on one. After I got off and my friend asked me the price, the employee who was standing uncomfortably close to us made a comment that we should look at the price of an item before playing with it. If the stools were labeled “do not sit” I would have respected that request, but they were not and instead we left promptly. This is not my first time leaving in a bad mood after a conversation with the same employee.Retro Revival’s booth is the only reason I would go back. Her taste is fabulous and so fun! But you can follow her on Instagram @retrojanet
Hidden gem with lots of super interesting antiques. Not much organization to it but I dont know how you would with this extensive and varied selection.
My mom was in town for a visit so I brought her here for some fun shopping. There is so much to see - a lot of unique, nostalgic items for both her and me!Prices vary and some seem high but others seem average/reasonable. Depends on the sellers. The only negative part for me was when I was browsing and a woman rushed through a narrow isle with a framed painting. I tried to back out of her way but I didnt have time and she kind of bulldozed me aside and hit me with it. She looked right at me as she did this, and seemed annoyed that I was even there. It wasnt really a big deal until I was checking out at the cash register later she was behind the counter. It appeared that this woman works here. I felt a little strange about it then.Ill be back, though. Because the place really is cool.
Very expensive. Its worth saving a few hundred dollars to go-to the antique malls in Selma, where they probably get all of their things anyway.Just because you label something Vintage doesnt make the automatically increase by $300+
A fun place to spend a couple hours milling around. Many great finds down there . There are lots of records, books, and in addition, a fair amount of furniture. Lots of midcentury furnishings. These are many collectibles and vintage jewellery as well.
For collectors only... Who are willing to pay collectors prices. Nice to browse & kill some time though.
They have interesting and highly quality inventory from 70s, mid century, vintage to antiques!! A wide choice of stuff!!!
Really awesome antique store. They have just about all you can think of and to it off there PET Friendly!
This place has an incredibly large selection of used records for reasonable prices.
If you are looking for it, it may possibly be in the Cheshire Cat! I love this place. Be careful its easy to lose track of time wondering around.
Always tons of new stuff. Vendors stay well-stocked and spaces are interesting and fun to shop!
Great place to by used records. Someone posted about not able to return defective items. Contact the vendor and speak to them directly. I have exchanged records that I did not noticed were warped until I attempted to play, and there was no problem at all.
Tons of records and there was a nice lady with a corgi what more could one ask for also its huge
Lots of interesting finds here! Love to browse around!
They have good collection of old vinyl in addition to thousands of antique objects from furniture to knick knacks. A life sized mounted poster of Jimi Hendrix would look fantastic on someones wall. This place is a pickers dream.
Some cool modern stuff in here as well, I think one or two people have all the good stuff though.
So many great finds if you dont mind taking the time to look!
Great place with lots of interesting stuff at every corner.
Love this place. Great vinyl collection
Lots of interesting stuff, good prices, helpful staff
Yes, they do have a selection of amazing pieces. In fact I was almost ready to buy something as a wedding gift, but the staff was so unhelpful and rude that I left without anything. I imagine the person who had the items for sale might have been interested in talking to me, but alas the checkout staff killed the sale.
Loved our visit!!! Bought a beautiful amethyst crystal as a souvenir for our son and daughter in love!!! We will visit again. So many beautiful treasures and antiques. And we loved conversing with the owners. Go check this antique haven out.
Plenty of things to see here lots of antiques but a little too pricey for my taste
If your looking for a place that never ends and has a lot to offer this is it. Great finds and even better items to just look through. This place is huge so make sure you have a good amount of time.
Great selection of rare finds!
Lots of fun treasures to buy. Pricing was high on a lot of the items.
Seemed like a nice place, prices were within normal ranges for the products offered
Always something fun here! A hidden gem.
Lots of rare and beautiful items
Its a nice place, fairly organized but cluttered.
Theres so much stuff to see here that its difficult to take it all in at once! Some of the sellers have their things set a bit pricey.
This is my favorite place to go!! Whenever I get out of class early and have some cash to spend this is my #1 destination. Everything there is so unique and its near impossible to find the same thing twice. I used to get lost in there fairly easily. MASSIVE selection of vinyl records, books, clothing, furniture and other items or all kinds, from fine antiques to cute little items that bring back memories. Everyone who works there is very friendly and I feel very welcome here. :)
This is a great place to check on a regular basis. Usually has a great selection of mid-century modern furniture and a mix of traditional pieces.
Cool place with alot of items to look at.
Ive lived near Cameron Village for almost ten years now, and I frequented this space before it changed hands and became the Cheshire Cat Gallery. I think its much better utilized by its new owners, thats for certain! I have done layaway more than once since then and have had them work with me under extreme circumstances. I agree with the reviewer Karen -- the prices are set by other people (the renters), and are non-negotiable. Ive worked out deals with the vendors when they were present. Theres a similar store just a few floors above it and Cheshire Cat has better wares and prices by far.
Great place.
One of the few variety consignment stores in Raleigh . Quality merchandise.
There is some really unique items here.
This place is an amazing collection of vintage stuff. There are some wonderfully unique treasures buried in the sprawling space.
Such a neat place.
Great selection and customer service!!!
The Cheshire Cat Gallery is an antique mall; as such, vendors rent spaces, arrange their wares, and the owner of the space arranges for the register to be staffed during business hours. The owner or person working the register in such spaces is generally not free to negotiate prices.Ive shopped here plenty of times and I keep discovering new spaces. Perhaps this is simply savvy merchandising; rearrange the goods and theyll look new. A bit more clothing than some; lots of vinyl. My taste runs to crystal and bling; the Cheshire Cat has a lot of furniture, Americana, vintage, and nostalgia. Bring a friend and wear comfortable shoes. Its a big space.
Massive location with an vast array of antiques and collectibles.
The mall may be nice, but Avery Blount with Trunksupvintage has the worst business ever.I bought pillows from her for over $100 in March of 2015!! She claimed to have shipped them, but they never arrived. When prompted she said she didnt have them, but did have insurance and would return my money.Needless to say I have never received the packages or the money and have been ignored countless times!!!Ive never had a business have such poor customer service and just outright steal from me before so be warned.
Merchandise was mostly very vintage. Not very well displayed. Some overpriced. Ive visited before and was more pleased with everything.
This place has many dealers with various antique, vintage, modern, or craft items for shoppers. I think its great!
Eclectic mix of shopping goodness
Wasnt organized very well.
Purchased a record that did not play. Attempted to exchange for one that worked and they have a no return policy even on defective items.
Meh... I found some interesting things here, but I also found quite a bit of old things priced as antiques... just because its old, doesnt mean its valuable...
It says its antiques, but its more like a thrift store, minus the cloths. Its super packed in there and looks junky
I rent a space at the gallery, and the owners and staff are extremely nice and helpful whomever wrote the review about not negotiating on price obviously is a troll and wrote a bad review because they didnt get what they wanted for thier lowball offer and then threw a temper tantrum, I have had the staff call me at home and ask if someone has made a resonable offer if I would accept it, bottom line go their for yourself and check it out.
Fun place to spend an afternoon learning history.
Love this place!
Ok
Sooo much to see
Very nice
Nice selection of old stuff.
Nice selection of old stuff.
