Very pretty at sunset. One of the on duty officers informed us that they offer tours once or twice a month but you have to schedule ahead of time. Theres a couple of picnic tables and theres wide open views of the lake. Make sure to drive the speed limit around the neighborhood, the police are very strict on maintaining the safety of all the pedestrians that use the roads.

Got a socially distant tour of the lighthouse during sunset. Absolutely gorgeous views and wonderful caretakers! Im so glad that the waterfront is open to the public!

Great family spot. Shells in the rocks, beautiful views and a great little history lesson. The Coast Guard staff and local team members do a great job with the maintenance and landscaping. Little kids will get a kick out of searching the adjacent treeline for golf balls from the course.

The lighthouse is not available for tours since it is operational and run by the coast guard. It is such a pleasant place to sit and relax at the memorial garden and watch the water break against the rocks. Great lake view.

I live about 15 minutes away from the lighthouse and it’s my favorite place to take my daughter when we want to see the lake or spend some time outside. There’s a beautiful butterfly garden right by the water with benches for visitors to enjoy, which is lovely in the summer. I’ve also seen an herb garden on the west side of the lighthouse facility. It’s also nice to go to a place that has a paved walkway from the parking lot to the lakefront- valuable for people with infants or are disabled. It’s a wonderful place to visit and I am honestly here about once a week.

A visual treat with an elegant 19th and early 20th century influence that surrounds the lighthouse grounds and support buildings. Covid-19 has unfortunately closed the tower and museum for now. On a perfect summer day space to wander near waters edge and look east across Lake Michigan.

Still a great place to view Lake Michigan. Sad there is no beach access due to preserving the shore line, but the additional reinforcement may keep the Lighthouse around for many years to come. Also it is a great place to hide painted rocks.

One of my favorite places to go. If your looking to have a small picnic or just taking in the scenery on a beautiful weekend to unwind after a long work week, youll be glad you stopped here. Parking is free!

This is a beautiful little park with a quaint lighthouse and great views of Lake Michigan. It didnt seem very busy when we were there on a holiday weekend. Would definitely return with a picnic basket and spend an afternoon here.

If you like lighthouses this is a beautiful one. Only one setback, no information building just signs on the property. The building with the lighthouse is the office of the caretaker, police dept and village hall.

Absolutely breath taking. The grounds were so well taken care of. This was our last stop on our trip before we came back to Iowa. So worth the extra minutes.

Lots of free parking and beautiful grounds to enjoy near the lake.When we visited, it happened to be one of the days you can pay to climb the lighthouse. We decided not to, but my wife got a stamp in her lighthouse passport since there were staff there.The foghorn house had a bunch of souvenirs for sale.

Great little stop off for pictures or just to enjoy the view. We just happen chanced on it, but it was a pleasant detour. We spent about half an hour there.

The lighthouse beach is cute and easily accessible for a summertime outing! Its definitely not a swimming beach, but the location is gorgeous and you can easily walk down to the lake to climb big rocks and collect smaller ones.I believe the lighthouse itself does tours (or at least used to?) but you may need to schedule it if youre interested.

Well maintained lighthouse that helped ships navigate around a dangerous Silurian reef. A nice tourist spot if you are into lighthouses. There is also a small beach with some of the best smooth rock picking I have ever seen, people had buckets full of rocks they picked. Careful of the under tow and if you venture on the rocks you will probably fall in.

Gorgeous, picturesque. Wisconsin or Maine? Clean Restrooms, beautiful flower gardens, public beach, and on one Sunday a month, you can hike to the top of the lighthouse.

I came here after hours, but I just had to stop & take a few pics & walk over to the water to hear the crashing waves. Unfortunately, the camera didnt capture the light beams as well as I had hoped (or even what I could see with the naked eye). So peaceful.

Great place to go hang out by the water go for a walk and even have a swim if the weather is right. My daughter and I go down there and skip stones and walk along the shore quite often. Theres a 100 + year old lighthouse there that really adds to the area.
