Nice, fun theatre. Has different are to view and purchase if interested.Saw the play forever plaid. Everything was great, singers/actors did a really good job. Glad to see the Covey doing performances despite the covid. They do a great job to keep everyone safe but still enjoy and have fun.
First time at the Covey Center for the Arts. I attended the Peter Brienholt concert. Both the venue and the artist were amazing. The venue has great sound and the seats were perfect. I cannot say enough about Peter and his band. I was impressed with him the first time I saw him. He has only gotten better. Thanks for a great evening.
Havent been here since my daughter played in Swan Lake quite a while back. Bringing back some good fun whilst keeping in accordance with current restrictions. Still had a good time with Forever Plaid.
We share Forever Plaid, Thursday night ! It was wonderful! They had great seating to ensure we social distance ! The music was fabulous, the characters a delight, only sad thing, is there was not a larger crowd --- they deserved a packed house - even with the social distancing easily could have doubled maybe even tripled the amount to seat safely ! This guys were GREAT !!!
I’ve been here multiple times for dance classes and dance performances for my daughter as well as for the Thriller production one year. The building is clean, the seats are decent, and the staff are generally friendly. It’s not too fancy and doesn’t have much in the way of concessions but it’s fine for a 1-2hr performance or production.
The theater is fairly big and its got a great feel to it
Nice theater. Great show... Forever Plaid.
Rudest staff ever. So unprofessional in how they treated patrons. I was appalled!! If something is against your rules...you have the right to correct, but yelling at people and swearing at them is extremely unprofessional. I wish I could give them zero stars.
Excellent show. We watched a local group of Mexican dancers and a mariachi band. Their performance was amazing. I have been to many of these shows even in Mexico city, and this was as good or better than everywhere else.
Such a fun place, always hosts good events there. We went and saw Vocal Point perform. Very polite ushers, everything was clean and well kept. Even though the doors opened a little later than I thought they should have, everyone was in their seats when it was time to start. Very efficient. I would recommend anyone to go see a show there! Just fantastic!
Always a good show when we have gone. The Mayor series is a great way to save money and choose what events you want to attend. Good parking as well.
There are some really good artists displayed there, im not sure how often they change the exhibit, but I liked what I saw. Good clean art.
Their sound system was amazing for my little daughter and all the dancers. We could actually hear each of them sing and the music wasnt too loud. However the mezzanine seats were extremely hot. Im not sure about the other seats, but if you can, avoid those seats. Maybe there is more air flow elsewhere.
Saw an amazing performance of Forever Plaid tonight!
The best place to get their tickets through their box office. Other places inflate the costs and all kinds of fees. This place has good. Value also great shows
The construction site next to the Covey center has made parking a joke for the time being!
The Covey Center is doing a good job on still allowing performances and keeping people safe.
Nice outside area for a picnic, though I still think of this building as the library
A big part of my childhood
Its a cozy venue for music or theater.
Excellent venue with lots of excellent programs going on. I attended the singer / song Writer showcase which is a free event that showcases local talent. Loved it. We also attended a night of improv with Quick Wits that was also very well done. I plan to return often.
Lovely! A beautiful arts center. The shows here are always exciting, entertaining, and engaging. The art on display is ever changing and always gorgeous.
The Nutcracker was well done and it is a fun tradition that we look forward to each year. I was, however, disappointed that we paid near $200 on tickets and they can only afford to give us 1 program because it is 1 per group. Kind of annoying when you have a large group and have to pass a program back and forth. Facility is nice.
Excellent venue. Very Clean and open with a friendly staff. The artwork on display is always changing and interesting. The stage is viewable from any where in the house. But we prefer the front row of the mezzanine.
Went to see Thriller which was a fun show. The show was entertaining. Overall the location is easy to find. The trouble you run into is finding parking. With the infamous towing and booting that goes on in Provo we just hoped we were parking in a safe spot. We drove around for a good 15 minutes and ended up having to park over two blocks away and walk.
Balcony has great seats, great view, easy exit.
Beautiful and elegant. Great sound quality. Always showing new artwork.
I havent been there for a long while but when I did go there it was great! Its a very nice place and I am happy I used that venue!
Great shows! Good location!
Beautiful venue clean, up to date, well kept. We enjoy bringing the family for a fun night out at the arts or watching Sis dance.
I bought tickets in the mezzanine thinking that in most theaters that is the section in front of balcony seating. Unfortunately, these seats are located on the main floor rear. Stage visibility was very poor since the theater is poorly raked. (Inclined) Quality of building is slightly better than a high school auditorium. Block constructed walls with little character. Was hoping for something more in line with classic design that can be found in Park City, Ogden or in Logan theaters. Appears to be a theater built on a very tight budget. If given the option of attending the same performance in a different venue, I would suggest doing that. Kingsbury would have been a much better place to see the excellent Thriller performance.
I was able to watch my uncle and nephew play chello on stage here with some other very talented musicians it was a lot of fun!
Went and saw Thriller. Was lots of fun and the dancers were amazing as usual. For sure recoils recommend to all!
First time at this location, and it was a great experience. I loved the performance that was scheduled for Dias de los muertos. Thank you for providing this experience Covey Center for the Arts.
A little shabby, but a nice civic performing arts venue. New art shows and plays throughout the year.Dance classes offered.
Great local place to see some awesome performances! Parking is easy and the seats are comfortable.
I didn’t know this existed but it’s great. Clean, good parking, and intimate.
Our grandkids are in plays every year and they do a great job with center stage.
We enjoyed the ballet we saw there. Only complaint was that there wasnt very much leg room between the rows for my tall husband and teenage boys.
Utah Film Festival Luncheon with Taylor Sheridan at a great venue!
The Covey Center is an awesome place to see a play, ballet, review local artists in the gallery & on the upper floor or simply enjoy a cultural evening out. The staff are helpful, kind & usually well informed about all the infinite entertainment options you can see or participate in. It’s also a wonderful outlet for theater ingenues who want to immerse themselves in trying out for a play if cast. Anyone can unfurl their creative wings & stretch those performance muscles.
I really love attending any of the art events here! Nice, big place for Utahs artsy scene.
Saw the play Glorious tonight. The true story of Florence Foster Jenkins, the worlds worst opera singer. As usual, the Covey Center Black Box theater did an excellent job. The play is very funny and worth your time!
This is a wonderful place to take a date.Weve seen some really amazing performances here. We love coming to see the Utah symphony as well as the various other plays and concerts held here. Spacious building in the heart of downtown Provo.
Beautiful venue. Great location, within walking distance of some great food.
Dont worry every seat here is really good.
Went and saw Warehouse 5 Drum Theater do their Halloween show...it was AMAZING! Cant wait to see whats next!
Watched Its a Wonderful Life radio dramatization. They even did gag commercials.
The Covet center is a beautiful building. I was able to enjoy the Utah film awards there for the fiat time. The staff was extremely kind and helpful and very approachable. The deferent art displayed is awesome to view. And the building is full of the art.I plan on returning to the center soon.
Nice theater where you can see from any seat!
If I knew any really big important words that could describe how amazing this place is I would. Absolutely a wonderful location for a date night.
The play, Blithe Spirit, was well done. The characters were extremely well cast for their parts. and did an amazing job! The theater is tiny which gives a wonderfully intimate feel. Because of the smallness of the theater wheelchairs are nearly impossible to get inside and no handrails makes it difficult on stairs. The parking is scarce, especially for .The sound booth girl kept rattling snack papers and chewing snacks (they are forbidden in the theater.) face chatting on her phone, and moving around like she was bored. She was very distracting.Overall Covey Center is a good place to be.
Saw my family perform there. Great place. Clean and neat.
Great venue for performing arts.
Rockettes was amazing. . . Beautiful venue
This is a really nice theatre! COPA rents it out for their students performances.
We went to Thriller and loved it! Some great talent!
Love this place. Saw Vocal Point there this last weekend. Being Close to the freeway and food make it a great date night. I’d give it 5 stars if they had more then 3 working lights in the parking lot. Way dark out there.
The concert was great, live music in this setting is very quaint and a dimension of depth
Awesome! Go here during the art walk the first Friday of every month!
Watched the Nutcracker. Sat on balcony and had a great view.
The Covey Center is awesome. They have have theater, musicals, concerts, and dance performances. The metropolitan ballet does The Nutcracker here every Christmas. Ticket prices are reasonable. The only drawback that Ive experienced is that other patrons are often rude. They bring kids that are too young to behave properly at an arts performance. Parents often do not quiet their children or take them out. Sometimes the adults are nicer than the kids. Its like some people dont know how to respect others. Id like to see the Covey Center do something about noise during shows.
Excellent facilities and good calendar of events and performances.
A tale of 3 cities performance.
Went to a free dance recital. It was awesome! They do a free performing arts show every month during the school year.
The Covey participates monthly in the First Friday Downtown Provo Gallery Stroll. Local artists Bill and Marilyn Brown exhibited there Aug 2019.
Beware of parking here! If you are not in a physical spot you will be ticketed by Provo parking police. I was ticketed for parking on a curb (that had no signage or red markings anywhere!) after a dance concert. The audience was packed and there were a ton of other people parking in the same places because there was no available parking. Its kinda ridiculous that the Covey Center does not provide enough parking for a full audience. The patrons should not have to pay an additional $25.00 for a parking citation because the venue decided to cheap out on parking. I would recommend either coming an hour early to any event or just expect to be ticketed if you dont park in an actual parking spot.
Nice location and venue to see a concert
It was a John Denver attribute and was done well. Nice people environment sit around us like family.
Every event Ive been to at the Covey Center has been amazing! Its the perfect place for all types of productions. It has a cozy, homey type feel that makes it even better. I also love the art that they always have on display. Overall, its one of my favorite places to go!
Clean and awesome entertainment offered.
Went and saw Paranormal Percussion and it was amazing!
Thriller was awesome! Recommend for anyone from families to a date. It was great! I will come back next year.
This Is a great asset to the school and helps make their music program shine.
Great Theater. The balcony is great as well. Not a bad seat in the house. Everything is close and cozy.
Thriller was awesome. I love that this is in Provo.
Saw Don Knotts daughter perform her one woman show. Really enjoyed it!
Beautiful facility, clean bathrooms, comfortable seats, and intriguing local art work on the walls. The staff was super nice and helpful
Awesome staff, great performances
I’ve performed multiple times and I am constantly impressed with all staff!
Great place for plays in the small theatre. You era really close to the actors. Its fun.
We used to go to the Covey Center just once a year to seeThe Nutcracker, but this year we attended five or six events and each was exceptional! There is plenty of close parking, tickets can be purchased online, weve never waited more than a couple of minutes in the Will Call line, and its 10 minutes from home! We no longer have to drive to Salt Lake to have an Abravanel or Capitol Theater experience. In my opinion, the Covey Center is one of the key additions to Provo (and Utah County) that have made it a true metropolitan center. (Kudos to the Utah Valley Symphony for taking a major step forward as well - having a quality local symphony is playing a big part in elevating the caliber of events.)
What a fantastic place to take in a show. We watched Utah Metropolitan Ballet’s production of the Nutcracker here and it was a fabulous venue for the event.
First time, and we absolutely loved it... had a blast.... sat right up front, but I think any seat would be awesome
Thriller by Odyssey Dance Company was spectacular!
Ive come here for ballet recitals and plays. Ill be honest and say ballet isnt my thing, but the recitals here are not a snore. Also, my husband and I came here on a play date while we were dating and had a wonderful time at a play! The performance was excellent, funny, and totally relateable.
Great community theater, seats are comfortable.
Finally we could enjoy of the nutcracker performance. It was very emotional, artistic and beautiful scenes, my favorite was the second act.
Ive been going here for the Jive dance recital for almost 10 years! It never disappoints.
A wonderful space with even better downtown parking. If youre trying to find a place to park close to center street, everyone always forgets about this parking lot.
The Brighton Theatre is an intimate play attending experience! Over the River and Through the Woods was very moving and delightful.
Covey center is a place youth can grow in their talents as artists. I have gone to 3 events here, and they range from dance performances, to music concerts to plays. They venue is nice, and of course the quality of the events depend on the talent of the performers, but they have been well run, faclitirs have been clean, and the quality has tried to be high.
Cool paintings to check out and well-kept place.
We saw The Nerd in the Black Box Theatre, it was well done and fun. Needs better ventilation, but the show itself was great. Fun venue.
This theatre can seat many, yet it is small enough that virtually all seats are good seats. I went to see an amateur dance recital of Peter Pan and was very impressed to see the characters flying around with harnesses and pulleys. I was very entertained.
Great place. We had a balcony seat and loved it. Great view. Very clean and good sound.
