Hope you like this shot, taken from Fort Williams (Portland Head lighthouse) about 1.5 miles away on a sub-zero winter morning, Dec 2017. The mist is sea smoke... Makes the Ram Island light seem even more eerie and isolated.

Its an automated light. Been automated for as long back as into the 70s... I believe back in the early 1900s there was a light house keeper part time but could get stuck there for long periods of time in winter months because of inclement weather and the danger of getting to and from ran island ledge safely.
