The best skaters in the world, skate here. Best terrain mix for vert skaters in Portland.Excellent community, and cool vibe. Absolutely No Posers! Still. Newbies with respect are always welcome. #HalloweenNightShhhhhhhh
The best place on earth... If you dont have anything to do that day! Lol! Lots of fun and interesting people from around the world!
Best place Great Piece of history that is made more family or more people that I can think of
I loved it this skatepark is soo fun to ride
I was there in the winter of 2017 i loved it. I cannot wait till i return it was probably one of the best skateboarding eperiences in my life i was soeechless when i went there
So much talent! Chill vibe and lots of space.
There are Skateparks, there are awesometacular Skateparks, and then you have Burnside Skatepark! A little something for everyone, and the best people to chill with after your ride.
Epic time down at the park for the Dirty 30, Happy Birthday Burnside!
Pretty amazing skate park! In a weird location & not a place to take your young kids. Its an adult skate park deep bowls.
Loved it. Brought my sons their and they had a lot of fun. If you want to skate and stay out the rain this is the place for you! Will absolutely come back when I get the chance!
The tall and beautiful apartment buildings and businesses that surrounded
It s scary there. But top notch skateboarding.
One of the most iconic skateparks of our day. Just make sure you can ride, tough ride for beginners.
Most wonderful place on the planet.
Great place to skate.
I feel so much pain after yesterday but it was so worth it. The people there were wonderful and helpful in learning tricks. Most of them were really good skaters.
Better than it ever has been before.
Dopest skate park ive ever been to. Very skater friendly.
First place I ever skated in Portland some 25 years ago
I’ve been wanting to visit Burnside ever since it began appearing in skateboarding magazines years back. The privilege was all mine recently as I was in Portland visiting and of course it was top of list. Parking was difficult the first day, but actually easier on the weekend. Locals were friendly but it is a grimier spot, lot of herb smoking and drinking going on so if you have kids with you keep it in mind. Portland is such a great city and this DYI sk8park is a perfect embodiment of the crafty and resourceful ethic of the local peeps. Super fast transitions so be ready to skate fast!
The world famous DIY skatepark lives up to its reputation. The park itself is massive and decorated with local street art. We rolled up to about 20 people just hanging out, with a couple people in the park skating. Everyone was chill in a street-smart sort of way, and reminded me of being a teenage skateboard punk. A must see if you are the kind of person who would enjoy it.
I really like that we can come here any time day or night and its safe and respectable people enjoying themselves skating
Please dont tear this GEM down!!
Ive been standing sideways my whole life and Ive been to Portland Native 4 / 43 years. I always come to this park to see my people and to hang out and do just feel at home. The graffiti that they have is always on point, and I just love skateboarding. Im not good enough to rip it up at this park but it is just fun to be there and to hang out in to pray I could skate that good!! Burnside for life ♡ its a bummer they had to build that apartment building nearby and I pray that Portland values this place enough to just leave it be. It was built for the People by the people♡
Kinda hard to skate but so worth it, transitions are kinda funky but so much character here
Awesome park but your park etiquette better be on point. Lots of serious skaters at high speed, be very mindful to stay out of the way and dont be a .
Just skateboarding history here! If you skateboard this is a place where history was made and it must be respected. Around for several decades this skatepark under the bridge is not to be missed. Its a full concrete park with huge ramps and bowls.
Just a place Ive sk8n since it was just a bridge returning there is as natural as the terrain
Come to this place and get amongst it. Do not fear it to the point of not approaching it, but instead fear it enough to respect it and ride it. You will become better for having known this place. Not just better at the activity of Skateboarding, better as a four dimensional Being navigating a corporeal/vibrational existence. The regulars are friendly enough, and you can learn a lot by observing themJust dont stand in the flat or in a pocket, or anywhere but the deck areas, and youll be treated with respect. If your etiquette is poor, you will be corrected, sometimes loudly. Dont take this personally, just learn what not to do, and keep skating! If you come here at the right time, you will be witness to mind-exploding feats by insanely talented individuals. It will make you want to be better.Parking sucks in the vicinity. Youre better off finding a space a few blocks up from the river, and skating down to the Spot.Do it. Do it now. Go skate Burnside. It will make you better.
Seems like a super cool place, shredded a bit but dipped when I saw a kid getting threatened for taking pictures and drawing on the wall, like, I get they have the right to be upset and stuff but when a kid makes a mistake and was super respectful and apologetic the locals threatened to beat the kid up if he didn’t leave immediately. Not being a local myself I was a bit shaken up by the experience. Definitely be respectful if u ride there but it’s worth a look.
Great park, none locals not welcomed by the skaters though
Best place in the world to ride your Skate toy!
My 7 year old wanted to skate the park because he had heard it was cool. The old man skating there was an ahole to him. Will never recommend this place
Neat to see. Good ramps to hit if you know what your doing. Makes you feel like an npc from the old Tony Hawk Underground games for ps2. Neat to check out. Cool city vibe
Amazing skate spot. Enjoy this Portland icon while you can because when they redo the Burnside Bridge next year itll be gone.
It all my fans all know skate army. Honored of all who been there it said loud. Burnside
Good skatepark for intermediate to advanced skaters
Awesome place to checkout, even if you dont skate. There are some really talented skaters there!
Great skateboard long as you dont ride bacon skateboards here they hate them lol
Park is biker friendly and an awesome place to catch laps. Morning sessions are good way to beat the heat. Locals are veery nice and the legendary burnside skatepark is top ten in the northwest for sure
Awesome skatepark under a highway! Super rad dude!!
Awesome place.
Burnside is the best skate park of all time.
Awesome skatepark! Sunday is Bmx day lol
When I visited this famous skate park I thought I would get to see a bunch of skaters and winos. I was the only wino. 5 stars.
This place is legendary! Such a sick park. Not at all for beginners. This park is unlike any other! A must stop!!
I love here
Visiting Burnside was a dream for so long that by the time I got the I was too old to share it. Awesome park built by the skaters for the skaters.
Iconic doesnt even cover it. the locals have mellowed somewhat in regards to the whole burnside is ours thing. Still a great plan to be very respectful if you arent from there. they dont play, at all
If u mix up the name, it says sideburn
Its Burnside one of the best skateparks in the country
Sweet place to skate but not very welcoming to beginners
Best park in Downtown. Popular. Very much for the intense skater. HUGE ramps. Crazy lines. Feels like it was made by the skaters who go there. Even just observing, its awesome. Kind of sketchy, its under a bridge. But its a great time. Go with friends. Skate up. Its featured on Portlandia.
Great to see the city of Portland worked together with the skaters to allow this handmade park to remain permanent. The spot has become legendary and I just had to stop by while in town. Props to all the locals who built it over the years, and who still build there today!
Dudes can be really aggressive about this space. pretty not worth it. skating should be for everyone
Because.
Great spot.
Awesome under the bridge skatepark
I went there for fun and it was sick. There is at lease 1 giant bowl and such a cool place. I watched a thrasher video of it on Halloween and I wish I would have gone. It is a lil hard to find but definitely worth the trip. It is a lil sketch bc there are just sketch things and people. Even if u don’t skate u should go.
Love this place. The culture, friends and family this place has become over the years is impressive. A must see even if you do not skate.
Skater world!
Please dont destroyed this park. This is history. Please save this skate park.
Amazing use of space, awesome people (a little rough around the edges but great with great hearts). Some of the best art in the city, most definitely one of the cities best kept treasures.
Best skatepark there has ever been built!
Place has been around since I was in my teens and I even had an altercation with a pro sjater or 2 there.with that said it a cool place to go for a lil skating fun or just watch the ppl there. A definite gathering place for youth+ no doubt
Nasty, smelt like trash. Was gonna let my kid play for a bit on a road trip passing through when a man came up to is and said that there were safer and cleaner parks to take him to. Wow!
The best skatepark in all of portland
Absolutely beautiful artwotk, very friendly people, and a truly amazing place to skate.
Skater made and skater played. Toughest crew. Totally for skateboards.
Its a Run walk jump pedal paddle blade board kick dribble Spike, grind half pipe quarter pipe 50/50 kickflip 360 flip nosegrind kind of place
Excellent skate park underneath the overpass. The people are friendly, and its fun to stop by just to watch. The only down-side is that some parts are a bit dangerous since its not quite complete.
Fun place to test out a rental power scooter
Its built weird, but its cool
Many of the guys here are a pleasure to visit with and good for the soul. If I wasnt so stove-up and fat, I would dust off the old Powell-Peralta with those big spongy urethane wheels and have a go at it.But I digress, this review is in regards to the SkatePark Pirate:The Banty Gestapo Rooster aggressively patrols and targets people who are taking, or attempting to take pictures, demanding they buy beer -- to be distributed by him among the skaters -- in return for unlimited photography privileges at this Portland Public Skate Park.Take pictures without paying beer-fees, and he jumps directly and insultingly in front of your camera -- as seen in photographs.Signs that prohibit alcohol are fairly clearly posted and yes there are minors around at any given time, so I can highly recommend not falling for this trap?! If you get pinched and charged for contributing alcohol to minors, you will be arrested and jailed!! Ive seen it happen here in Portland as far back as the 1970s.Suggestions for the local tribal skate council, is to self-police the bullys who practice toll-collecting-shakedown techniques towards people who exercise photography rights in public spaces. In a world where everybody carries a camera, pictures will be taken, relax and get over it.As a Marine Corps veteran and old school film street photographer, my freedom of imaging rights in public spaces are just as important as skating is to you.Sincerely, Mecate
Ive Been coming to this place since the early 90s. Its constantly evolving I love it
Iconic skate park, by the skaters for the skaters.
Very interesting and fun local skating area. Skater built, in a grungy area with the same sort of vibe. Has good parties for special events and a flowy skating area
All I have to say is respect the locals and youll have a good time.
If you are here at the right time, its fine. But if you are here after 12:00 it can get pretty dangerous if you don’t know the cultural lingo and customs. Also dont go here if you are starting out, you will get hurt.
This is a skate park with a great history. The people who skate there are great people. The tricks they do are amazing. Its lots of fun
A place all us kids dreamed of skating after tony hawk
So much fun!
Burnside is the best place in the world
