This was one of the most AMAZING experiences I have had with a company. The people were amazingly kind and helpful throughout our time there. The food was amazin, huge kudos to Tim the entertainment manager. He does a fantastic time at his job. I just want to thank the whole facility for our time there and giving our boys a great late birthday.

11/20/2020 Went there for my sons 18th birthday party. There were 9 of us we got a great deal going through groupon. Cost included 3 games of laser tag and a $25 game card to use in arcade for 3 people.The place was immaculately clean. Every person that was not waiting on customers was cleaning something. The laser tag was really fun.We got our own private room. We were able to bring a cake in. We got 2 large pizzas, 2 pitchers of soda and 2 appetizer platters and that was more than enough food. Highly recommended.It was very very fun. Kylee the party planner was great to work with.. Everything was taken care of ahead of time. They have on site parking( a rare thing in Portland). Oh yeah we were given coupons for a return visit. Great time was had by all of us. My son had a great birthday party

This place was discriminatory with our biracial group. Instead of letting us know that 1 person needed to be cut off or was break a rule they cut our entire group off from first being able to bowl, when we had already paid for the games and then from being served without directly informing us. The real reason is because one of our groups had a trump mask and I believe they targeted our group. Sad, all we wanted was a night off and feel free.

My wife Amanda and I had our first date at spare Time in Portland. We go there frequently and bring the kids. The staff always remembers us and treats us like family.We recently rented out the entire facility and got married !Kylie and Tim were extraordinary hosts and worked with us, our DJ Dan Dibiase, our florist Harmon & Barton’s, and cakes extraordinaire for delivery and set up.They went above and beyond to abide by the Covid regulations. Our guests felt very safe. The staff was fabulous, the food was perfectly served and 5 Star all the way!!!I’d like to thank Tim, Kylie, and the entire staff for such a memorable and fabulous day. We will see you all often.

I went to spacetime today for an impromptu birthday celebration for my son. A friend met us there and Tim made sure that these kids had the best time. We were just expecting to give them something to do for a bit before the storm and Tim made it the highlight of the month. They were so happy leaving there and I was so happy to have had such great staff working while we were there. The entire staffing team tonight went above and beyond for us. We are going to make this a monthly activity now because of them. Tim, please thank your whole team. The bartender, the guy running laser tag and the prizes and everyone else who took the time to see if we needed anything and ensured an awesome night.

We had an awesome experience at Spare Time when we took our daughter and her friends recently. They had a blast in the huge arcade and bowling was a hit. The food was great and the staff is top notch - very friendly, professional and welcoming. The kids said, it was one of our favorite places ever, it is better than Disney!

Perfect place to bring kids when the weather isnt, rain, snow, or hot and humid. For the last two years, Ive brought bus loads of kids (K-8) and it is a consistent hit.

We hosted our rehearsal dinner at Spare Time in Portland, ME. It was AMAZING!! Our day of planner was Kylie and she went above and beyond in preparing and hosting our event. After we had reached out to many other bowling locations, Spare Time was the only one willing to work with us to make the event happen within our budget. Kylie was always reaching out to check in (which was more then my wedding day of coordinator). On the day of the event they went the extra mile with decor, a sign for our event, plus serving all our food to reduce the amount of touching. They even brought over extra dessert and remaining food for us while we were bowling. Overall they did an amazing job, they went above and beyond. I HIGHLY recommend them to anyone looking to host any type of event.

My girlfriend and I always stop by for the Monday night special, and the occasional Friday for galactic bowling. Aidan the night manager is awesome. He knows us by name and always remembers our shoe sizes. Laser tag Katherine is pretty funny, and our server (I think his name is John?) always starts us with our regular drinks before we even ask. Very personable staff

Two stars for the cleanliness and the quality of the food. Not a 5 star rating due to being harassed several times by employees about wearing mask while we are eating and drinking. We were told that we had to have mask on if we were not eating or drinking yet this was while food was continuously being delivered to our table. All the while, an individual in the party next to us failed to wear a mask the entire time. They arrived before us and did not have food so there was no excuse to not wear one. Trying to figure out why we are being singled out.

My first time going to a Spare Time and what a great experience! The atmosphere was fun, clean and they offered exceptional service all while keeping guests safe....Nora was our server and she was fantastic, she came by frequently to see if we needed anything. Matt and Michelle at the bar were great as well. The general manager Tim, was awesome and made sure all guests were having a good time. We met Aidan, the manager on duty who was pleasant and friendly....we also observed Joey, who was always busy doing so many different things but always had a smile or something nice to say.

Regular sanitation, great food and an awesome staff. The family had a lot of fun.

They took such great care of our party of 8! They’ve made great adjustments to help families feel safe in a post-Covid environment. The entire experience from check-in, to bowling, to dining, exceeded all of our expectations. Matt was an amazing server! Yummy food and even yummier cocktails. Staff was very friendly and customer centric. The laser tag facility was very modern with the latest technology. The arcade was small but still had a good variety of modern games. We didn’t bowl but plenty of lanes with no waiting had we chose to. Used Groupon for an incredible deal!

Excellent place for fun with kids and adults! This was the 1st time taking my 2 kids. It was my 7 year olds birthday and we took 2 of their friends with us.. Even though we didnt book for a birthday this very kind employee made sure to make it special anyway. He asked the birthday girl if she wanted to request any songs, brought us a pitcher of ice water, and gave each of the girls a card with $5 on them towards the arcade. Would highly recommend this place. They truly made our visit memorable.

Our wedding took place November 7. Our experience was awesome. Kylie, Tim snd everyone else did an amazing job by are first time we approached them about our wedding idea til the day we got married.The way they set up the tables with the white linen the decor of the presentation to the fabulous food that was cooked and served to us and all our guestsKylie worked with Harmons and Barton’s for our flower delivery and set up as well with Cakes Extraordinaire Our DJ was able to go in and set up in a wonderful area with lots of room.I would highly recommend Sparetime Bowling Portland Maine for any event!!!!!

Im not wowed by this place. Seems overly expensive for bowling and food was horribly overpriced for what was served. A fun time was had by all, though, and the renovations of the booths look good.

This place is one of the last few gem left in Maine. The big ball bowling alley has it all- bowling, a arcade, lazer tag, a full bar & restaurant with a huge menu. On Sundays before noon its super cheap and only 2 dollars a person pre-game. They have these really cool dinosaurs looking things to help kids bowl with the big balls- they drop the ball on its head & it slides down the dinosaur back & down the lane. They also offer bummers for the children. The staff is incredibly friendly, very helpful, and they really do add to the experience. We had a male waiter and he was amazing. It was really busy & he was alone most of the morning Sunday yet he was incredibly fast, he was there to help us whenever we needed, he was friendly, and definitely on his game. He was a great sever. The two girl at the ticket counter were amazing with the kids even some in full melt down mood. We had a great time there last sunday morning & plan to start doing it a lot more. Its hard to find fun stuff to do indoors in Maine during the winter months but this was a blast. The food was great, the staff was amazing, we have children as young as 2 and adults as old as 65 & everything between and we all had a blast.

At the time it was slow not many people no lines at the games or laze tag staff was friendly and helpful. They turned on black lights while we bowled. Great family atmosphere. Everyone had a great time looking forward to returning.

Had a great company Christmas party here! Since they remodeled, the dining area and buffet style menu we had was all excellent... Staff was attentive, fun and professional! Bowling was fun too, despite my poor showing!

We love coming here for an afternoon of fun. They have lots to offer for the whole family. Bowling, laser tag, arcade, bar, and parties. Their food and drinks are great. The bowling alley has flashy lights and music. My kids love the laser tag games and arcade. We have been to several birthday parties there as well and they do a nice job. Friendly staff, and very clean establishment.

My family loves bowling and laser tag here! The staff are helpful and friendly. We came for the 50% off Wednesday deal. Lanes were clean as well as the whole building. My one complaint is that the toilets are really obnoxious and scared my youngest kid, but overall highly recommend for other families!!

We were blown away by how amazing this facitily was at hosting a birthday party for our 8 year old son! Communication leading up to his party was amazing and then when we arrived our party area was all set up and ready to go. Lauren, our hostess was PHENOMENAL! She went over every tiny detail with us and stuck to the schedule 100%. The attention to detail by all staff was incredible. The venue is spotlessly clean and top of the line. The arcade was amazing and we will definitely be back to give laser tag a try! The cost was incredibly affordable and what we got for our money was perfect. The hand written card from Lauren sent via the mail the week after his party to our son was the cherry on top of this awesome experience. The words that was my best birthday EVER!! were uttered numerous times that day and days following. Well done Spare Time!

I just got home from their service industry night and I had such a great time! Thank you to everyone responsible for putting that together and for everyone who worked it. Im sure it was a lot of work.We had the nachos which were great and the beer was reasonably priced. Bowling was fun and the lazer tag was awesome! I think I was giggling the whole time. Every staff member I interacted with was friendly and clearly dedicated to doing their best. I will definitely be back!! Thank you again.

Spent at least two hours playing games it fun!

Was in the area visiting from Ohio. We had so much fun at this bowling alley! I love how they have different themes to pick from on bowling, it was very kid friendly which I was very thankful for! And Lazer tag was a blast! Not to mention how wonderful and friendly the staff was! Also a bonus, we happened to come in on a Wednesday where it was 50 percent off!

Not only do they have bowling at fair prices, but they have a small arcade, and laser tag! Their food isnt the greatest but its what you would expect from a bowling alley. Definitely a family friendly place and a great way to have fun

Didnt do anything but the game section but good

Three out of four visits the lane conditions were awful. Turns out they hadnt oiled the lanes prior to opening. I asked why and got unacceptable answers such as they ran out of time or the maintenance guy was too busy. I was then told I could bowl for free, but on horrible lanes. That is not the correct solution! Sent an email to the house manager two weeks ago, but still no reply. Very disappointing experiences. My next step will be to email the parent company. Im only giving one star because the review requires it, but it should be ZERO stars.

The food was decent, fries were the best part but the flat bread pizza we ordered was a little burnt. When we went to play laser tag we had an hour wait which was fine we had a large party. However, when our time came another party was allowed to go ahead of us and we had an additional 10 minute wait while they had that party step out, on top of the original hour to play. Overall everyone had fun, but definitely need better communication and could attempt to call people when their time comes to play.

Poor customer service. Only seemed interested in serving large groups and birthday parties. The bowling lanes did seem to be well taken care of. The food itself is well made and, the arcade is not well managed, I would not recommend this bowling alley. For those people you are planing on going alone; especially to only play in the arcade find, somewhere else to go.

My daughter and I checked out the arcade/games section yesterday. It was really cool. There are no coins to be used. You out your money on your own personal swipe card and play all the game that way. For the games that give you tickets towards prizes, there are no physical tickets, the machines automatically add the tickets to your swipe card!! Its a very cool concept. Every time you swipe your card at a game, it will give you your remaining balance and there are also ATM like machines that show you how many tickets you have and you can also reload your cards on the ATM machine as well. Only complaint I would have, which is a minor one, is I wish there were more arcade type games. Regardless, I liked it a lot and my 12 year old daughter absolutely loved it!! We will be going back real soon!

I attended my daughters birthday party at spare time in Portland. She loves to go there and play laser tag and play the video games. She enjoys bowling and they have nice aids to help young children Bowl with the large balls. There was a point in the party when the bowling alley turned on the disco lights and the kids all started dancing. It was hilarious. I dont remember a birthday party with quite so much dancing. After the birthday party I asked my daughter if she had a good time she said it was great. She really love the laser tag. I thought the staff was really attentive. They kept showing up and making sure everyone had what we needed. It seems like the food came out when it was supposed to though I honestly wasnt involved in ordering the food. I think there could have been a little more space for the food and gifts for the amount of people they had but the staff did a good job of making do with what they had.

Me and my daughter love this place! You can spend an entire day here without running out of stud to do! We bowled, ate, played video games and even laser tag! The prizes are priced right and staff very friendly!

A few weeks ago my son had his 8th birthday party at Spare Time. It was our first time at Spare Time. We chose laser tag package. The party room was already booked, but we were offered to get a few tables at the restaurant during party booking and we agreed. We only had 7 kids invited, so we had plenty of space. While the older kids enjoyed laser tag, arcades and picking out prizes, a couple of little ones had fun playing bowling which was very reasonably priced! We had plenty of drinks and pizza was actually very good! Our hostess, Myrissa, was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed and kids were right on the schedule for their laser tag and pizza. I can definitely say she was the best hostess we have ever had. All staff members were very friendly and helpful. As a result, kids had lots of fun and parents did not need to stress out. My son already asked for a laser tag party next year. We will be back for sure! Thanks, Myrissa and Spare Time!

Was told over the phone and email I could call 30 min to an hour before arrival and reserve lanes or be placed on a waiting list then when I called to reserve or be put on a waiting list I was told they dont do that. Then after I arrived I was told I could only have 1 lane I needed at least 8 bowlers to get 2 lanes I was less than pleased and everyone around me knew it

Enjoyed bowling. Staff is friendly, music was good and the place is clean. I recommend it for a night of bowling.

As a frequent visitor of Spare Time I am saddened to say that tonight will be our last night visiting; we were treated like belligerent children and I have never experienced such a place with low hospitality. We came here for date night. Started with a simple meal and one round of drinks, with the second round to have in hand while we bowled. We were out with another couple so we asked to split an $80 bill in half. One half was $39 and the other was $45. Do the math. It simply doesn’t add up. While we were eating our meal we had to get ourselves our napkins and remind the staff for utensils. The food was great. The service not so much. But we weren’t going to let that ruin our night so we continued to bowl and once we were finished our drinks we went up to get a beer we were “cut off” I’m no rocket scientist but I don’t know anyone who has been cut off after two beers. It’s just not right. So we talked to management and that did nothing whatsoever. It’s such a heartbreaking experience because it truly is a fun place to go. I guess I will be taking my business to other alleys in the area from now on.

I am an avid bowler and I would not recommend this bowling alley at all to league bowlers. They company that owns this establishment hates leagues and caters to open bowlers more than the garunteed money they get from the leagues.

Made reservations. The party package was a great investment. My daughter and her friends had an absolute blast and the staff was friendly, helpful and efficient.

Food took a long time, and when it did arrive, they got my order wrong. Everything else was great though.

Laser tag, arcade and bowling are all really fun. They have a bar and restaurant too. My kids really loved laser tag.

My daughter-in-law had a birthday party there. They were set up in the common walkway instead of in a dining room or area set aside for groups. There were 25+- people there and only 3 tables so most of us had to stand. The common walkway was wide enough to accommodate some separate tables and chairs, but apparently that idea never occurred to anyone. We were sitting at a table eating pizza and we were asked to get up because we werent at the designated area for our party. WHAT??? We were three seniors and ASKED TO MOVE?? Laughingly enough, no one sat there after we got up.Now for the food; dont bother. Its edible only by the walking dead.That being said, if you have a celebration of any kind, this place is not the venue you should choose.

$4 laser tag on Wednesdays, who knew?! Love this place. Its nice and clean, well maintained, and a variety of activity to keep the kids (and adults) busy!

Laser tag at a birthday party was a blast for everyone.

Overall had a fun time but the music videos they played had a lot of raunchy content. There were little kids bowling there and they had it playing on screens on the walls of the alleys and on the tvs over the seating area. Also the lights were really dark and the flashing and flickering lights were a bit overwhelming for me personally. Music was a bit too loud too. I didnt try the arcade or laser tag. All personal preference stuff really thus why I didnt give low stars. I did have a lot of fun.

Very good environment. Lazer tag setup very well, enjoyed thoroughly. The arcade with the point card system is also a breath of fresh air compared to the clunky tickets that always need to be replaced.One note: the color spinner game is HORRIBLY rigged. Dont even try it... Like I know arcade games, and this one is particularly bad.

Love going here with my friends, we always have a great time, even when on a budget! So many different things to do and enjoy!

Me and the family had a great time bowling then Lazer tag and hit the arcade for a few games everything was great my kids love to pop up bumpers and the auto score keeping screens with cool animations on the bowling lanes always a good time.
