Longfellow is great place to sit, find someone to help. Even get a pay back. I recommend if you want to meet fun characters. It is a national monument......
A great experience once again at One Longfellow. Robyn has been a great influence on the music scene for over 40 years. The fact that he could be here in our small town in such an intimate room was remarkable. The fog of emotional ambiguity that hangs over his deeply poetic lyrics was partially lifted by the banter of his transparent mind between songs. With the help of Longfellows amazingly talented and attentive sound engineer, Chris, the depth and richness of his enduring music was presented on one acoustic guitar, one harmonica, one fabulously intricate and unique voice and vision.Major kudos to management, staff, and volunteers for their commitment to maintaining this valuable venue.
We went to our second Maine Voices there. Both have been wonderful interviews of interesting people. The venue is intimate.
Love the close friendly feel of concerts here. They get great folk artists!
Saw NY band Upstate tonight. What a fantastic fun upbeat young band. Original music sung in beautiful 3 part harmony by three women, backed by three men on bass, sax/keyboards, and Cajone (drums in a box). I didnt know anything about this band, and that speaks volumes about how great this venue is. Small, intimate, not a bad seat in the house. One of Portlands best venues, if not the best. And definitely see Upstate if you get the chance.
Great venue and great location for hearing live music.
Always a great intimate venue! Good local beer and wine as well.
Saw my first show here a few weeks ago. I love this space!
Great small venue right downtown. Just saw Neil Young tribute show, had a great time.
This place is a cozy and intimate venue. There is a bar as you walk in. Its not huge but do not underestimate your server, you will appreciate her drinks plus a decent selection of beer. The main music room has 50 to 60 seats and the balcony has room for maybe another 20. Theres standing room too. Definitely check this place out.
A fun evening. The building is throwback to yesteryear. The performance was excellent.
Some really good concerts. Varied styles.
Great concert venues with small personal feel.
Great small music venue, very friendly staff
Great venue for a show. Excellent seating. Courteous staff. Neighborhood parking so get there early.
I really used to enjoy coming here and relaxing in the sun as I read a book on a bench or just sat to enjoy the day and watch passerbys. But lately I have not enjoyed my experiences at Longfellow Square. There seems to always be the constant odor of urine and/or a few of the local homeless are sleeping on the benches. Oh well.. Hope you enjoy the rest of Portland.
Intimate. Not a bad seat in the house. Great beverage selection.
Nice small place to hear great shows
Funny performance space, and a bit small but some fine performers over the years. Last show was Leo Kottke, always a fun time, striking his curious balance between a stunning fingerstyle Americana technique and off-kilter stream of consciousness storytelling.
I saw Studio Two. A Beatles Tribute band. It is a nice venue. Right up close and personal. I will be going again.
Great listening venue with great touring, local and regional acts.
Portland Jazz Orchestra one of Best Music in Portld. Metro Area....excellent jazz musicians!
What a sweet little place! Saw Anais Mitchell, it was just the right venue, every seat (Im guessing around 100?) Had a perfect view of the stage, I was in the back back, and it didnt feel far at all. The sound was excellent, not too loud, just right. Hope to get back there soon!
Saw John Craigie. Excellent show, excellent venue. I will be back to OLS and discovered a great talent at the same time. Win for me.
Intimate venue that clearly cares about performers and music lovers, and good drinks to boot.
Great venue with a good mix of unique national acts and good support of local acts. The entrance is handicap accessible, and they have a ramp to get to the main floor. There is a decent size balcony, and they have a good selection of local beer.
If you rock out to Hipstercore, this venue is for you.
Probably the most intimate performance space in Portland. You are almost on stage with the performers regardless of where you sit. Great place to see live music, always enjoy shows there
What a lovely little venue! I saw a wonderful show, it was a great environment and an intimate setting. I loved everything about it except, like much of Portland, parking can be a bit of an issue. Leave extra time to find a parking spot. And hope that it hasnt snowed recently, LOL. I drove around a bunch of side streets, couldnt find a spot and ended up in a parking garage that was about a five-minute block from the venue. So the lack of a fifth star is really more about me having to walk several blocks when it was a little bit slippery on the sidewalks and also having to pay twenty bucks to park. The venue itself was great.
Small non-profit with a passionate team and amazing artists!
Great music venue. Attended the Maine Middle Eastern Orchestra concert. Awesome.
Awesome venue especially for a wedding reception.
Good music - good space - non profit
Great venue to see artists up close. Very intimate and personal.
Great small venue with big acts. You can tell they do what they do because they love it. Reasonable ticket prices and craft beers too!
Excellent, intimate venue. Somewhat easy to find street parking. Good bar just inside the door with fair prices. My hat is off to the organizers of this establishment!!
Awesome place. Promotes local school jazz ensembles. Brunswick HS was incredible last night.
Outstanding, intimate live music venue. One of the all time great places to see music
Have seen a few shows here, warm atmosphere with great seating upstairs. Definitely recommend checking it out!
Quaint venue performing arts. I saw a concert there and great venue for small audience guessing it seats 200 people makes for close viewing of performers.
Great music!
Intimate, great venue. Great variety of performers. No better place in Maine to see live music.
Beautiful, small venue. Has a cozy feel
Amazing space for music. Best venue in town by far.
Great venue.
An outstanding place to see a show. Very intimate and cozy. Everyone in the place seemed happy and excited to be there. Only downside was beer served only in plastic cups.
I have been a supporting member for years and love the opportunity to get so close and personal with the players. And also appreciate the kind owners and employees. You are the best!
Lovely, intimate venue.
Great intimate venue.
Another great show. Great place to see a band not a bad space in the house.
Intimate venue with incredibly amazing musicians and dedicated staff. The venue is non-profit and embraces all genres of music.
Its always a great night at One Longfellow Square - a terrific venue, and always wonderful talent. Abbie Gardner was one of my all-time favorites!
Great smaller venue. Small bar. Cozy place.
# loved the small venue atmosphere and experience!
The perfect venue for up close entertainment. No bad seats in the house.
Intimate venue to discover new artists.
Fabulous concert, expensive in light of the funky venue, but loads of fun.
A great place to see a show. They specialize in intimate shows, but Ive seen good shows from other types (rock, etc.) here as well. Staff is A+++ too.
Great Evening with James Montgomery his band is really tight. Loud is okay when its smooth.
Great place for everyone.
Great venue
Great place to hear music.
Great intimate venue for music.
Good place to see a show
Such a lovely, intimate venue with great acoustics!
What a great venue. The place is small about 75 at the most, the stage is right there and you can see everything. The price is right and the audience was attentive.
Went to Rocky Horror...... the WORST thing my eyes have EVER been exposed to
Comedians not very funny. Poor political jokes. Rude comments.
Danced to the music of Primo Cubano On New Years Eve. Nice venue, great music, lively crowd.
Intimate music venue with top local and regional talent.
Perfect venue for a concert. Small, intimate, and great acoustics. Seats not very comfortable.
Amazing wait a change for the good this area has gone through
Saw Bonnie Prince Billy here. Five star guarantee.
Small, casual venue featuring quality folk and Americana acts you probably havent heard. Affordable and fun.
Great show lots of fun
Fantastic music venue in the heart of Portland. Intimate seating.
Perfect venue for a concert. Small, intimate, and great acoustics.
I have seen/heard the Portland Jazz Orchestra twice at this venue. They are FANTASTIC!!!! They play at OLS once a month. Tickets are only $5 online. If you like jazz/big band you need to checkout the PJO. OLS is a small venue with great sound.
