Great theater - always well done. During the pandemic the Magellanica show on radio/podcast is exceptional.
A.R.T. is a wonderful space for artists to share their work. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I attended a reading of the musical Welcome to Zion by Holly Yurth Harmon, which I found spellbinding and emotional. It was only Act 1, which left everyone yearning for the rest of the story. She is an amazing writer and composer. It would not surprise me at all to see her work on Broadway one day.
This is a center for Portlands thriving and growing artists. You can see some very high end performances here. You can also see smaller developing groups whove rented the space for limited shows or even single performances.Parking in the area can be okay, but generally expect to have to search. I would maybe recommend ordering a rides share
The venue was comfortable and the cast amazing in the Wolf Play performance. The play dealt with social issues of adoption and same sex co-parenting, as well as the discrepancies in the foster child care and placement system. Realistic staging and minimal props with a focus on true artistry in performance make this a critically excellent dramatic performance. - UniquelyD
I gave them 5 stars for visibility. They went ahead and just took the parking meter away with absolutely no warning at all. Like seriously they could have left a note on the damn thing a couple days before hand to give people a heads up. I rolled into work and saw there was no meter and decided to relocate. Around lunch time I drove by and there were a bunch of cars in the lot. I drove through and every single one of them had a parking ticket. I get it, their fault but the owners of the establishment should have taken the high road and gave us all a warning. Never mind this place gets 2 stars.
We love this small theater company. They do a great job and we have season tickets. They need your support to stay alive and we need more live performances.
Always a great place for Theater. The Main Stage is for bigger shows & musicals. Not a bad seat in the house, although some of the seats in the back make it tough to see everything on stage. Downstairs, the Ellen Bye Studio is great for smaller & more intimate plays, especially 1 person shows. With an ever changing seating, there is not a bad seat in the house.Staff, Ushers & Front of House are all very professional & skilled at what they do.Great place for “date night”! Lots of places to eat nearby.
This place is old the great if you like the Arts give it to go look it up and see what they got going on.
Just saw Spring Awakening and it was amazing. The acting was a incredible and we were very impressed. We plan to come back again. Melchior was fantastic
I have a theater appreciation class on Valentines day, I needed to see a play to write a paper about. My husband is back from boot camp for only 10 days, so every second spent with him counts. My husband and I thought wed make the best of it and see A Dolls House part 2 together. Tickets were not selling online, and I got worried that he wouldnt be able to come. I wanted to make sure that he could join me, so I called the box office. JOHN helped me make sure that I could get a ticket for him, and reassured me that I could even buy the ticket at a later date and see if our seats could be seated togeter! Outstanding costumer service and truly ment a lot to me.
Really nice theater, quite small tho. The size makes things quite intimate which I suppose adds to the experience. I enjoyed the place, the staff were also quite nice.
I always enjoy the eclectic and bold selection of plays. Obviously I like some more than others but the quality of the acting is always superior. The plays always end up provoking a lively and enjoyable discussion with my wife. Im a season subscriber and expect to continue to renew my subscription each year.
I have loved every play Ive seen here. They have amazing resident artists, and just as amazing guest artists.
Wonderful small theater. Great show. Very good service.
I love this theater! They do innovative work with excellent performers, directors and other staff — plays that may stretch outside of my comfort zone but make me think a lot in the process. And by the way their box office staff are great.
The play we saw was great and I will definitely go back.
Great performance daring and good acting cozy spot to see mind stretching drama
Ive seen some really awesome events here it was amazing to see how they really are able to change the atmosphere to almost feel like you are part of the play. Only Con is i wish seat were a bit more comfortable

Great theater producing thought provoking plays. We love the intimate theater in the round or nearly round.
Beautiful venue with helpful volunteers. Ive been to two shows here, and both were interesting, modern pieces with supremely skilled casts and notably great set design and tech.
Nice place to go watch plays a little small but really nice
Always a great place to go. The shows the put on here are fantastic!
Excellent theatre, wonderful productions with outstanding performances. The set up of the theatre is very intimate, there arent any bad seats!
We went for the Improv Comedy Festival. My first time at this place it is pretty impressive. The bar was nice. The seating was tight inside but for this type of theater venue very cool. Ill go there again!
The Artists Repertory Theater is an excellent venue for intimate performances. The sound system and the engineering crew are part of a cohesive team, committed to making each program or event a magical experience.

Really good time here .. Saw Thanksgiving Play which turned out to be a preview performance. Very funny. Intimate theater .. I doubt there is a bad seat in the house.
They have thought provoking plays with gifted actors along with those who are learning their skills.
I come to watch the plays quite often. Always enjoyed it. Offers PWYW on one preview.
Very nice theatre. Attended once. Will definitely go again
Generally very excellent and though provoking plays.
I went there for a Science on Tap lecture. It was crowded and they only had 1 beer on tap. The seats provided little leg space and were uncomfortable.
Hi-quality theatre; provocative shows; friendly, professional staff.
Always great acting. Many new plays.
Always great theatre, plays by award winning at writes and well acted by talented actors.
The plays there and the cast is amazing
This is one of the most interesting theatres in the country, and their complex hosts a lot of other great companies, making ARTs overall contribution to the Portland art scene immense.

We really like this theater. Its very comfortable, and the plays are consistently very good.
Excellent venue with above average performances from professional actors/actresses!!!
We saw the play Trevor. The intimate seating made for a good view from every angle. Parking under the theater $5.00.
Lovely space in a very suburban area.
This is a place that offers entertainment from several different venues. Im impressed with the quality of the entertainment available and recommend this location as a must see for people who search out a place to go for an enrichment of the soul.
We saw a wonderful play, Peritles Wet. Murri Lazaroff Babin made the play!
A.r.t. is such a wonderful place to go within our portland community to see issues on stage, with answers and creative ways of dealing with the worlds problems -- or to break through paradigm shifts in our hearts.
Perhaps the best known and quality theater companies in town. I have never seen a show that I have regretted, and am always impressed with the quality and professionalism displayed.
The theatre has a lot of new and exciting work going on and the space is beautiful
