I moved to the Portland region 3 years ago from the Bay Area. After years of attending the San Francisco Symphony, I worried that I might not enjoy the symphony here as much. I’ve been attending the Oregon Symphony regularly since I moved here, and I can honestly say I’ve enjoyed every performance! This is a high caliber orchestra, and the programming is wonderful! I’m just sad that the musicians are not being paid what they deserve. Their salaries are appallingly low. I hope that changes so that these excellent musicians are encouraged to remain with the orchestra. I would love for the Oregon Symphony to have more of a national presence - I think they deserve it!
Went to watch a symphony of Star wars music and ended up with a big screen over half the orchestra. I didnt go to watch a movie i can see for 2 dollars I went to watch musicians play music. so much for 120 dollar seats in the dress circle. the movie was so loud you could hardly hear the music. not doing this again.
Great fun with a great crowd. The music was really good, nothing to complain about really.
The staff were very helpful in getting us the best available seats for a show we wanted to attend. I was a bit miffed when I went to the concert venue that I had to walk five more blocks to purchase the tickets. I was told on the phone the ticket office was at the venue. Now I know and will be prepared better.
Super helpful and delightful staff!
Randy got me very nice seats for my favorite concert. Nice boy. Helpful, and cute as a button.
Easy location, staff very helpful made ticket selection easy.
If the handling fee has to be paid regardless of how you purchase a ticket, add the fee to the ticket price. Tacking it on at the last minute before making a purchasing is frustrating and disingenuous.
Excellent professional staff will answer all your questions and get you the best seats!
Have had positive experiences with OR Symphony in the past but tonight was terrible. They changed the program at the last moment. I carefully arrived 20 minutes before scheduled intermission. Was locked out while trying to locate my seats. (There are apparently at least 5 seats designated GG7.) Missed the whole show. This was advertised as an evening featuring Gershwins Rhapsody In Blue--on Web site, on marquee, on program cover. But they would not allow me into auditorium because featured piece began 90 seconds after conclusion of Schoenberg piece. I want my $62 back Oregon Symphony. And take me off of your email list.
The performance of Rhapsody in Blue, with Kirill Gerstein at the piano, was stunning! Glad they changed the order. The last piece, Azaan, a world premier, deserved to stand alone after intermission. It was very thought provoking and poignant.
Helpful, competent service at the box office. Weve had the pleasure of seeing Garrick Ohlsson and Ling Ling perform some amazing pieces.
Im sure the concert will be great but the lady at the box office was the most terrible person Ive ever encountered. I shouldve got her name. Words can not describe how awful she was.
Easy place to visit and get your need for symphony tickets squared away.
