Purchased the birthday box for my sons birthday, and it was awesome. Ive never seen so much random weirdness in one package. Not only did they rush it out to get it here for his birthday, but they searched through storage to add an item that wasnt on their website. Awesome store....awesome people running it.

For the size and what is contained within, I was blown away. Its just a weird collection, like a giant cabinet of curiosities. And the people running the place have a great sense of humor. Dont come in here expecting a 2 hour long museum tour. This is a small space packed the brim with odd things. Its hard to know what facts posted are indeed facts, and thats the point. Odd little place, totally worth a visit. And yes, reading what is written inside makes the experience better.

True to its name! One of most unique places to visit in Portland for sure. To give you an idea of how freaky it was, they have a coffin you can lie down in!The owner (I think he was) was super friendly and extremely enthusiastic to help. Entry to the museum is only $5. Its a tiny establishment but suffice to say, you will not be disappointed. Also, do check out the shop for some really cool gifting ideas.

Great exhibits, off-beat. Worth a trip if you share their sense of humor. There are useful safety tips to protect yourself from zombie attacks and informative displays on what happens to your stolen organs. How can you not use that information?

This place is amazing. As a horror fanatic this was such a cheap but thrilling adventure! Located not too far away from downtown Portland it’s such a cute spot to hang out with friends if they aren’t too scared. I really enjoyed how some of these exhibits were interactive and we could go inside a fake burial or have fun taking photos with the cut up corpses. The place is small but the exhibits are tightly packed! Would come again!

This place is cool. On one side its a little museum type thing, with fun oddities/exhibits. Its $5 to go through there. Or free if youre in a cool costume. You can take a photo with the alien autopsy exhibit. They are moving soon to a bigger space, so hopefully to make room for more cool exhibits. The other part is the shop. Theres fun stuff to buy, including prints that were only $6!

I saw this place on a list of things to do when visiting Portland. The museum and shop is small, but worth it. Admission is only 5$. It was a bit outside the downtown Portland area, but just a short drive away. There were lots of random creepy things to look at and you can pretty much find something new each time you turn. It is small, but there are a lot of elements in here so if you take your time, you wont lose interest. There is a fake coffin in which you can lie down and experience the sensation of being buried alive. There are also cute little activities or closer looking opportunities throughout the museum. Even the restroom has its quirks. Ive definitely never seen any museum like this and Im so glad I decided to come visit.

Probably my favorite museum/mystery shack ever. The exhibits and the gift shop were worth the trip. See what its like to be buried alive! Confuse children as they try to figure out a rotary telephone! Alien autopsies!I left with a cookie-esque fortune, a salt shaker shaped like Idaho, and a poster showing Big Foot charging at you foaming at the mouth whilst firing two machine guns into the air [which is truly amazing].Definitely worth the $5 entry fee (its free if you wear a costume when you visit).

The Peculiarium was a great final stop, after a long day of walking around Portland. Some of the artifacts are a bit hokey and campy, but thats part of the charm. This little museum is simply wonderful! I had not been here when I lived in Portland, but getting to visit during my trip was just amazing. This place is a wonderful representation of the slogan Keep Portland Weird. Everything in this museum/gift shop is weird, bizarre and/or comical. What a fun place for only $5. All sorts of random displays, such as Star Trek memorabilia and horror movie models. There are plenty of photo opportunities, including taking a selfie with Krampus, standing tall with Bigfoot, or being autopsied by aliens. This is not a large place, and only takes about 20-30 minutes to get through. There is a lot of oddity art here, such as paintings, sculptures and hanging faces, which seems to be reasonably priced. They also have vintage post cards, and old black and white photos if you’re in to that kind of thing. Check it out if you like the bizarre or unusual.
