Great little park. Wish there was more trails, but we love the little hike anyway.
Pretty decent park, small, and right next door to a large farm so you can smell the methane first thing in the morning, and because of its proximity to the farm there is a high level of nitrate in the water, this is only harmful to children under 6 months. There is a nice walking trail and well stocked pond to fish from, 2 fish maximum, 4 different kinds of Bass to fish. The facilities are clean and up to date, not a lot of sites and was empty only 1 other camper when i visited. Nice place to stop for a day or two.
Its hard to give this place a fair rating. Our governor makes sure you leave by 5:00 p.m. Im pretty certain 5:00 is when the virus comes to the lake. What a crock!
It was absolutely beautiful. My husband and I went on an impromptu camping trip and they were very accommodating. Pro tip: make sure you bring cash to pay the fee (for parking) we had a mix of quarters and bills last time and it did NOT fit in the payment slotYou can reserve a campsite on their website and use a credit or debit card. Mastercard or Visa only.
Its just ok right biw because of the times posted. 8-5?? Its hotttt they should allow night fishing!!
This place is amazing for the family who would like to do a little car camping. The facilities are always top notch and clean. However, to the horrible people who used site 4 before the 14th of June. Thanks for leaving dog food and dog sh!+ All over our site. We enjoyed cleaning up after you and I just know there is a special place in Hell for people like you.
This is a nice park. I was searching for a place to rest and came across this in my search. It had everything we needed. Place for child to play and place to cook dinner on grill. The lake with the fish in it seems another visit is in order with gear to test it out.
Will not be returning. Bad experience overall with COVID
Very nice small campground. Large sites with ramadas. Desert setting. Bathrooms are immaculate and look new. Trashcan at each site. Also, very inexpensive. Some trails to hike and a fishing lake. Most sites are electric (30 Amp) and water. The water taps have nitrate warnings which is not unusual in this part of the US. Youll want to bring drinking water. There is a dump station at the entrance to the camping area.
Beautiful state park. My only complaint would be the smell of cattle, but with wild cattle around, thats kind of a given. No other issues though. Loved it while my wife and I stayed with my brother in law and his wife in their camper.
Very nice park. Our site (29) level and spacious. The park is clean and sites spaced so everyone has some privacy. Highly recommend this state park.
Found this gem (which I was very surprised at).. as we were searching for an overnight stop. Very clean, not on top of each other and with beautiful N.M. skies, yuccas, and some trees. We stayed in#24 with 30/50 amp & water. Looked brand new! Would highly recommend this place for all.We have a 36 fifth wheel.
This is a smaller park but has quite a few campsites, rustic & those with water & power. There is a dump station. There is a playground & the small lake the park is named for. No Swimming. Sites are spacious & well separated. Quail & deer were frequent visitors. Coyotes were near the fringes. So be careful with your dog(s).
We are handicap and had no problem . The staff are friendly the place is clean. The Flora and fauna are exceptional. I would recommend it to anyone thank you
Usually just walk the trails with our dogs and get to see a lot of wildlife, we have seen deer multiple times walking the trails. Camped over for one night and I recommend a pad for sleeping on. The campsites are all gravel which is a little uncomfortable to sleep on. I would rather sleep on dirt the the gravel.
Great park, quite lots of things to do.
Greek park! It is easy to see they work hard to keep things nice. Nice lake that stays well stocked.
We have stayed here several times and I agree with all the favorable reviews. The park is great for riding bikes and hiking. Close to Wal-Mart and other favorite stores in Clovis. Next to an archialogical dig that is open to the public. Only reason for not giving it s better rating is lack of full hook ups and WIND. We have yet to stay here that we didnt have to endure 30, 40 and one 50 mph winds.
Great place. Its our first camping in our new RV. Its a great location and scenery. If we missed anything there is a Walmart just down the street.
Great get away to ease your mind quiet and great view
It is usually busy, and if you get there late morning all the good spots are taken. During peak times the pond is virtually empty of fish. It is however very clean and well maintained. The park rangers are engaged and friendly. Its better for a short camping trip than anywhere else locally.
Maybe 3 or 4 days after they stock, its worth visiting to fish a little...other than that, a fine waste of time and money. Go to fort Sumner, more fish, free admission, more history.
I love this park. Its so peaceful so private so much fun camping here
This is the best Campground its fresh clean quiet well taken care of everybody was just very nice the bathrooms were immaculate loved it would stay another week or two if I could
Quiet clean park. Nice place for a picnic
Pulled in after dark. woke to a really nice camp site, covered table, grill, fire ring, super clean! Found bathrooms. Nice big showers. Super clean!
I totally love this gem on the Llano Estacado. The area is blanketed in pages upon pages of human history such as the early Clovis Culture. With Blackwater Draw Site Locale being nearby, a weekend stay becomes an adventure. Camp, fish, hike, explore at Oasis SP. Then visit BWD. As an outdoor educator, the sand dunes and shimmery oak habitat offers a myriad of wildlife habitat you wont see outside the Park.
Nice for familys
Beautiful and relaxing, just overly fished(stocked) pond. The camping area is cheap too.
Loved everything about your park
Great family environment, quiet most all the time with exceptions of holiday weekends and fishing derby. Also very clean and kept showers and restrooms. And RV hookups available for rental, think you can call in advance for reservations
Great place. New Mexico is beautiful. Truly the land of Enchantment. The people are awesome.
Had a great day. Did some fishing. Didnt catch anything, but it was fun. Love how they expanded and all the new camping areas.
Good quite place. To take a break
Love this little park. Has some pleasant RV spots, and facilities are well maintained. Just wish they could expand the hiking trail.
Over fished hardly even stocked throughout the year park rangers are never seen and the phones are never answered
Great place for taking the kids fishing or to walk the dogs on a leash over night camping permitted and potable water and out houses
This is a very clean state park with several sites that have full hookups. The price is quite reasonable $14 at the time this was written.
Very relaxing place.
I grew up fishing here its always fun
Not on my top 10 list but it sure fits the bill for an overnight cheap place to get some shut eye. The spot we have has water/electric with a covered picnic table and a grill! For $14.00 a night its hard to beat! It is $18.00 a night if you make the reservation on line through Reserve America. They also take checks at the self pay station!
Nice place on the plains. Good bird watching and watched the moon rise in the east. Water has nitrates and dump station out of service for over a year so plan accordingly.
Had awesome picnic and gathering.
One of the best NM state parks. A stocked pond for fishingHike, ride or chill. Good tent sites andost all sites are pull thru?
Quiet, relaxing, and some seriously entertaining fishing!
The sites with electric look nice. The rest of the sites no shade. Water not for drinking shower was new and clean.
Very very nice and clean. Level pull through sites
Cool place for safe desert camping but too dry for me. It was so cool hearing and seeing the wildlife.
Huge campsites and a nice fishing pond.
Stage stocks the pond here can usually caught some big Catfish!!!
Very clean and well taken care of!
I usually love this place because of the quietness. Lately it has been very crowded and loud. People with music blaring and having a BBQ at the pond area, instead of at the picnic areas. The front bathrooms had been closed for over a year, so when we needed to go the bathroom, we had to get in our car to drive to the back bathrooms (we are night fishers)
It was great that it was free and it had a good view
Great exploring,fishing and relaxing. Grilling.
I love Oasis!!! So quiet and the Park employees are great!
Cute little fishing lake and a handful of camping spots. Playground.
Always clean an quiet...
Beautiful, fishing and trails, it is an Oasis. The staff are always on the ball.
Very peaceful, clean, and accomodating. Trails need more signage and maintenance, but the park is very nice.
Kind of a small park but nice and clean. Was told it was stocked every year and fish is edible.
This is a nice place to go fishing or for a stroll. The immediate area also has a long history of human occupation as well as an active fossil dig nearby. I was surprised to learn that Oasis is considered the mouth of the Brazos River which flows across Texas and empties in to the Gulf of Mexico.
Great place to set for observing. Its at a great location too!
The water made my entire family sick, the smell of the nearby cow farms are putrid. Dump station closed. Beautiful sunsets and great location between Portales and Clovis. Sites are generously spaced.
It was very clean, easily accessible and everything youll need is there. A bonus, the closest store is only 5 miles away!
Hot and not much shade around the pond. After all, it is a desert.
Had a beautiful time spending our vacation with our grandchildren there a hubby had a nice catch he caught a 10 pound blue cat
Nice, quiet, good facilities. Very inexpensive. I would stay there again.
Good place to fish but need to be stocked more than once a month Ive seen people walk out with more than the limit it says
This is a tiny little camp ground with a small fishing lake. It is great for picnics and camping. The one bad thing is that the drinking water is unsafe. Bring your own.
Really great camping and park. Well cared for and clean. Definitely recommend.
Got there late, slept in. Lots of light pollution from surrounding flatlands. State pricung is getting steep, unfortunately
Home sweet home
Awesome place to fish for catfish
Nice place to visit and have even camped in a tent a few times. not as clean as when I was younger, and sand hills almost gone.
Beautiful park!Camp host was most gracious and very clean bathrooms and showers. This is a must see place in a mst see setting.Wildlife in abundance Love love loved it!!
Very beautiful park that you would never expect to be out there.
ABSOLUTELY love this place. STAFF is awsome. Take my kids fishing here often
Very nice and friendly people with very clean facilities
Nice spring
Wish they had a place to buy something to eat and drink and more shade!!
Quiet and feels secluded, dont drink the water, there are warnings signs. New very large pull thru campsites. Not hard to find.
Quiet campground with RV sites. Fishing lake with catfish and recently supplied with Rainbow Trout.
