Fashion Arts Studio of Westchester

I am so glad we found the Fashion Arts Studio of Westchester! My now 11 year old daughter is now taking her 2nd class with Ying. In her first class she learned about how to sketch, color and measure while putting together her design board collection which she presented at the end of the course, including her vision, branding and target markets.Now she is in her first draping course. During the first class my daughter free draped an evening gown and Ying was flexible in letting her go in a different direction than the class with it. My daughter has her first customer in the mom of another student and she is over the moon - hand sewing the couture gown to fit with the guidance of Ying.I highly recommend the Fashion Arts Studio of Westchester to any parent looking for an outlet for their childs inner designer!

My tweenage daughter absolutely loves going to classes at The Fashion Arts Studio of Westchester. She has taken several of their classes already. It is truly a hidden gem and provides a wonderful, positive environment for creativity, learning proper technique, and exploring design. Her classes have culminated in fashion shows of the finished product which has further added to the creators pride of artistry. If your child is into fashion and design, this is an amazing place to be!

The Fashion Arts Studio is wonderful!!! My daughter has grown in all areas of design, fashion and sewing. Ms. Ying and Charm are patient, flexible, and inspiring. My daughter looks forward to Saturdays so she can design, drape, and sew! We are truly lucky to have found the Fashion Arts Studio.

Our daughter has been attending for three years. The students somehow magically determine what the theme is every year and Ying and Charm always expand and enhance the projects so that there is so much practical learning it is an embarrassment of riches. You can grow here.

Our eight year old daughter has really enjoyed her classes with Ying. Ying is so knowledgeable and patient, guiding each kid through the design/crafting process, accounting for their differences in experience. Our girl went from draping, using a sewing machine, to building her own two piece outfit (with her own choice of fabrics). We are so lucky to have found this class!

Young fashion and drawing fans really enjoy and learn from Ying Sus fashion drawing classes. Ying Su starts with a drawing demonstration that incorporates participant suggestions as to style, color, pattern. The participants watch eagerly as the drawing unfolds. Then, they get a turn to choose a fabric swatch and draw their own creation using special professional markers and paper. Ying Su walks around, patiently guiding and encouraging them. The resulting drawings are always very colorful and imaginative.I have known Ying Su since she started her studio and she has done many programs over the years at the two public libraries where I have planned youth programs. The programs have been for various age groups, sometimes school age children, sometimes teens. Both children and parents request that I have her back. She is very talented and professional and adds a unique, appealing program to our offerings.I highly recommend this!
