Museo de la Historia de Ponce

Beautiful building and nice museum to learn more about the town of Ponce PR. They give you good history about its pass lifestyle.

Probably the best experience we had while visiting Ponce in 2 days! We were greatly welcomed in this museum. All the expositions were written in Spanish but the guide who was bilingual offer us a tour, just for the 2 of us, explaining everything of the rich history of Ponce ! He answered every question we had and give us a good overview of the colonial and current history of Puerto Rico.Do not miss that, its free.

Went today with my family and I love everything but the attention the we received by the conversational guide guys was awesome! They took al the time needed to explain us everything and were very friendly. Good job

My girlfriend and I got practically a private tour of the museum from one of the curators. The vast majority of the exhibits, everything is in Spanish with no translation, which we didnt know coming in.The curator was bilingual and gave us an awesome tour though so we had a great visit!Easily the nicest museum we visited in Ponce, gave us a good grasp on the history of Ponce and Puerto Rico in general

A hidden gem, must see! History of Ponce and PR summarized quite well. However, you MUST know Spanish or hire/bring a tour guide. Highly suggested!

Enjoy the place being a local that lived away many years. Only a few things were translated to english. Beautiful and well kept house and museum.

This museum is a MUST if you want to learn about the area and its history. Our tour guide was fabulous and spoke very clearly and plainly in English and Spanish. I am so glad we took a chance on this attraction.

Provided an interesting overview of Ponces history. Unfortunately it was in spanish, so translating it wasnt easy.

Great history museum.

Great exhibits and great coffee. They even have soy, almond ans coconut milk.

I only wished the Mameyes memorial was opened on the day I went. Family and friends lived during this tragedy and we werent able to pay out respects even though the regular museum entry was opened.

My family house, built by my grandfather Dr. Guillermo Ermelindo Salazar Palau in 1911 as a wedding present to my grandmother, 16 year old Sara Isabel Rivera Carbonell.Visited regulary during my childhood and up until it was converted in a museum. I have wonderful memories of Sunday lunches with all the cousins, aunt, uncles and my grandmother, who lived in the house until her demise.A must see if you go to Ponce ... A glimpse into an era long gone, our heritage and history. Dont miss it!
