Family went to watch the addams family production. Easy to access, get in & out, clean, etc. The troupe is a hard working, talented bunch. We had a lot of fun. Strong work, everyone!
A great asset to our community. We appreciate having such a lovely arts organization on our doorsteps.
I had my first North Texas Performing Arts (Willow Bend Center of the Arts) experience -The Addams Family musical. It started with a phone call confirming the show -the phone answerer was polite and very helpful on the best route to take for arriving and parking. There was some delay at the ticket counter (computer issue), however everyone was congenial. I very much enjoyed The Addams Family musical. The only dislike was the cussing -only twice or 3X tops. (i think I am used to Dallas Childrens Theatre where there is no cussing at all and the plays are just as spectacular)
This is an amazing facility and the number of shows and the quality is outstanding. My family and I drive from Irving to attend performances there and I am always blown away by the talent of the kids and adults. The lighting, sound and seating is excellent in each of their four theaters. I wish I had this when I was a kid! Recently I heard they do birthday parties there for kids and I think there was a birthday group there when I last saw Junie B. Jones. What a COOL idea away from the usual pizza place...
Blown away!! My son recently performed in the school play, and he did quite well. Then he asked to do another play so I started looking for theater opportunities for him. I found the North Texas Performing Arts and sent an email. Brought the info home and discussed it then signed him up for his first theater camp. He was excited every day of camp and came home every day with a smile. The show was brilliant, fun, and so worth it. Seeing these young people get so into their parts and bringing the story to life was amazing. We haven’t allowed my son to audition for the next play just yet, as school is about to start and school comes first, but he will, and I’m sure that he will enjoy his next production. He will also be back for summer camp next year. Well done NTPA.
Went to see The Little Mermaid, Jr. last night and are already planning our next visit! My daughter said “that was better than the movie!” Adorable and hilarious. Loved every minute.
I have nothing but great things to say about this place. One I think its great for the kids and teaches them lessons that even as a college graduate I still have problems with (public speaking). The parents are just as involved as the kids and lend a hand to make sure the sets and costumes and makeup are all right. Ive been to a few shows now and will be at many more to come. Look forward to seeing you all.
Wonderful performance!Very talented cast. Thoroughly enjoyed myself and plan on attending many more shows.Well done, cozy theatre, close to home and great prices. Great little find in our own backyard.
Love this place! Mrs. Kaitlyn Wright, director is a professional, well organized, attention to detail and enjoys working with children. She is patient and kind to all ages and teens! she loves her job and it shows! Your kids will never want to leave this place because of her!
They offer lots of classes, the location is easy to get to, and the facility seems great! I love their theater spaces! We havent gotten to see any performances yet, but based on the spaces, I would guess they are great.
First time to attend. Came with two kiddos and we loved it! Highly recommend this group . . . you won’t regret checking it out. I know it won’t be our last time!
Beautiful performance of Beauty and the beast. The cast did an amazing job.
A great experience. I just found out about this place and the experience was a blast.Seating not so good and difficult to find in the mall but all was worth it.
Great midsized-theatre with modern elements, lighting and facilities. It hides out inside the mall near the Dillards entrance on the second floors parking garage if you cant find it. Ive never seen a theatre inside a mall before but it works well.
I saw more childrens enthusiasm and talent here than I have ever seen before. I have two grandchildren who have been here since they were very young, and the environment at PCT has helped them develop into better young adults. The people that run PCT seem to be dedicated to letting all the children participate, leaving none of them on the bench. They paricipate as actor, actresses, backdrop operators, choreography, and everything related. Incidentally, the dozen or so productions I have seen here have all been extremely good, impressive, deserving of many encores. I applaud the management of this non-profit, and the community that supports such an endeavor. You ALL make the world a better place.
Great place
My daughter has been in several NTPA productions and we have thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The directors are awesome and really care about the kids and the performances are a lot of fun. Highly recommended.
I went here to see my Granddaughter in the play Little Women. The entire performance blew me away. I would have never in a million years believed there could be this much talent in a group of young adults, I would estimate to be in grades 7-12. They put on a play that was amazingly professional, and the actors and actresses were so good they were able to continually evoke emotion in the entire audience. At the end of the performance I sensed Bravo, Bravo!!! was the prevailing feeling of the attendees. The theater premises were also very impressive, and from the plaques and signage it was quite obvious that there are a great many members of the community that have dedicated a lot of time and effort to making this wonderful venue for the arts become a reality, and an extremely valuable contribution not only to Plano, but to the entire Dallas area.
Love this contribution to the Arts in Collin County. Teaching, training, acting, singing, dancing - you name it, kids in Collin County get to try on their wings and fly!
My daughter discovered Plano Childrens when she was in seventh grade! She auditioned the first time and got a lead/supporting lead role in CATS. She was thrilled. The founder as well as the directors are very supportive, enthusiastic and recognize potential talent. PCT has helped to foster the growth of my daughters talent when she needed it most. The other students are very friendly & supportive of each other as well. Its a great family environment!! Bravo, Bravo to PCT.
Beauty and the beast was awesome!! Will be coming again to view future productions
Good shows. Great kids.
With all-youth shows, Plano Childrens Theater gives kids an opportunity to shine as they rehearse and perform Broadway shows and plays. My son started performing on stage with PCT as a young elementary student. Since 2011, hes had amazing opportunities to be in shows like Les Miserables, Seussical, Beauty & the Beast and at least a dozen more. These are first-rate licensed productions that young children cannot experience at school. Through this experience, he developed a great love for music, acting and performing and is now also acting professionally in film, television and commercials, as well as singing and playing guitar. My daughter is now getting into the act and loves the experience and the theatre. Programming is tailored to the interests of the students and theres something for everyone. The experience empowers them to create and perform in top-notch productions while promoting teamwork, learning from skilled and caring directors, and providing all of the benefits of arts education. Highly recommend!
So fun and great acting by kids for kids! Loved it!
This is a great place for kids who are just getting into the arts or are seasoned veterans.
I could not believe how well put together and entertaining Robin Hood was. My mom and I brought my 3 yr old and his cousins (ages 5-9) and they all were laughing and completely engaged the entire time, as were we. None of us knew anyone connected to the show, but we were so impressed by their professional behavior and presence. I would highly recommend seeing a PCT show to anyone.
Loved the show and how much they invest in kids!
Im a huge fan of kids theater and Plano Childrens Theatre has some of the best shows in the area. Im amazed at the amount of talent the children have at such a young age. The owners have done an outstanding job at creating a great place for young artists.
Central location within Plano community offering consistently appealing programming for young children like my 5 and 6 year old kids. Family-friendly theatre experience. Photos with the young actors/actresses after the show is what my daughter loves the most. Annual memberships are a great value for those of us on a budget. :)
Amazing facilities and great performances for all ages.
I have been with NTPA for more than 5 years and have had the time of my life! The new location is huge with so much space! I highly recommend you check this place out!!!!
We discovered PCT in 2012. My daughter attended a 2 week summer camp production and it was an amazing experience. She absolutely loved the director and made many new friends. I couldnt believe what they put together in only 2 weeks! So many of her friends were long time performers at PCT and encouraged her to come back for a major production. Our PCT casts have become our extended family. The parents work together to help the directors and the kids create amazing productions in a not-for-profit environment. The theater has been here a while and word on the street is theyll be upgrading the seating in the main stage soon.
Nice, clean and family activities are often offered here.
Went with my 1st grader. We all loved it.
My daughter began taking classes in the fall of 2010. She is now playing lead roles in Major Productions. We are so pleased with how much she has grown in her acting, singing, dancing, speaking and social skills. We love the dedication of the directors and parent volunteers that help make each show a great success. She considers this theater her second home, in fact we all do :)
Able to get all most any necessary items needed for FAMILYS WELL BEING!!
Went with my youngest sister, she is a critic. Enjoyed her write up as well as the performance of The Hunchback of Notre Dam.
One of my daughters attended a birthday party where an acting coach from PCT lead an improv session for the children. My daughter, who is normally very shy, got engaged and had a great time. She asked to enroll in a play and was on stage in her first production in a few months. The quality of the production was amazing. I admit the acting process can seem disorganized from the perspective of an outsider, but the quality of the plays is unquestionable. My daughter has transformed into a confident public speaker and performer. Its been an extraordinary journey. Keep in mind there are many Directors at PCT and many different plays for various age groups. Take some time to meet with the Director and talk with them about your childs needs. Not every child wants to be on a stage, but it can be a wonderful learning experience for anyone.
A fantastic place for kids and adults
Great place. My son has been a part of multiple productions and has had great experiences.
My children loved their time spent here over spring break! The staff are so awesome.
I am writing this review because of the poor communication from the business office of this theatre. The directors are great, but when I left messages with a question on the amount I needed to pay at the business office it was like hearing crickets. I received no reply until they wanted my money for a final payment. It would have been extremely helpful if Amber Daly had returned my phone call or replied to my message that I sent with the first payment. She is lacking in the basic business skill of communication. I am not sure of the rest of the office since she is the only one I have dealt with. Be sure, if you have any questions, that you hound them for a reply. This shows a lack of courtesy.
After spending hundreds of dollars on fees and tickets, volunteering several hours, and spending 3 hours a week rehearsing my child didn’t get to be in he performance because somebody stopped showing up on tech week. It is unorganized and a total rip off
Love it. Great staff. Better location coming soon!
My 10 yr olds sons favorite place to be. He will never fear a stage or audience. The directors really care about the kids and every child gets a role. Try a week-long camp at first, your child will be hooked. Plays range from Seussical to Edgar Allan Poe.
I have two daughters 7 and 9...My seven year old said she was bored and just sat there and was not involved. I decided to give it one more try this year with my nine year old. After the first day, she said that all the other children were 5 years old and could not read. Towards the end of the week you can rent a costume but their costume room is a complete disorganized mess....so of course we bought one of our own. The final irritation is when the email went out and said their show was at 11:30 for the parents to watch. I arrived early and my husband cut out of work to see it too. The play was just about over when we arrived 10-15 minutes early. I will not give any more chances to this place. I highly recommend SMU plano summer camps which we keep returning to every year.
This place is super fun the shows are amazing and the staff is super nice i recommended it!
Great kids.
My 8 year old and 13 year old love Plano Childrens Theatre! Theyve learned so much about the arts (more than I ever knew) - from how to audition (theyre coached during their auditions), monologues, solos all the way through to production. They both have the confidence to speak on any stage to any audience. They developed responsibility through learning their roles and their lines. Theyve learned team work through productions. Theyve had fantastic experiences - from performing Improv in a coffee house to doing a flash mob in a local movie theatre. Their performances have been outstanding - ranging from Beauty and the Beast to Les Miserables. The staff and directors are enthusiastic and supportive. A fantastic place to grow!
Because I love Mrs. Sara Akers
Excellent theater program
Great chance for young artists
Great venue!
Great directors
In reahersal yesterday awesome
Hard to hear the kids
If a show starts at 7- it should start at 7. Not 7:15. It’s not acceptable and disrespectful to those in Attendence who came to watch the production and not to chit chat with family.
Variety of activities, private and community.
Seemed disorganized but no issues kids thought it was OK
Wow
Great for all
Great plays!!
Great for kids, Great staff!
Great experience!
