The venue looks very humble from the outside, but inside it is almost cozy. The seating is quite spacious so youre not sitting on top of other patrons. The prices were fairly reasonable considering the venue and service was great. Plenty of necessary parking is definitely a plus, an overall fun and pleasant experience.
The ticket price are pretty good $20 for preferred sites. Small table with four chairs would be shared with other two.Show up early to get a good spot (close the stage) minimum of two orders per person. After all will cost about $75 for two people. Including the tickets.Flo Hernandez show was awesome!! This guy is hilarious!!
Love the atmosphere... The comedy is top notch ..I will be honest the waiting area is small but other than that this establishment has great comedians & there is not a bad seat on the house. We have visited several times sitting on every side & you can see the stage from every angle...
Comedians were hilarious!!! Tyson Faifer killed it and that was followed by Ben Creed, who was equally as funny. Our waitress was on point so no complaints there. Ordered a few things which were enjoyable, but the jalapeno poppers tasted like a microwaved store bought item. Looking forward to going again.
I have been here 4-5 times using the free tickets you get offered very frequently with texts. No promotions—just free tickets. Almost every single month. So it’s cost effective to get to see a show even with the 2 drink minimum. The comedy is almost always stellar. Every time I’ve gone, 2/3 of the comedians for the set have me in stitches.Wait staff is hit or miss. It’s either absolutely stellar or on the slow side. The one and only time it’s been a problem, management rectified to questions asked.Overall, I come back again and again for a fun night out!
Now. Im usually a bit of a comedian on most of my reviews. However, this was in general, honestly, a good time. They have a slightly odd way of doing things here but with tickets being free or cheap, I get it. Now, I will say this. I was seated in the middle of the back and a particular woman up front had a laugh that not only could kill an eagle from outer space but also came in an abundance that would make Iowa corn farmers feel inadequate. It was more distracting than two chinchillas fighting ontop of your head while youre trying to read the newspaper. So much so, that the most exciting part of the evening became the anticipation of which comedian would call her out and say something. Well. They did and it was worth it.
There was a 2 drink minimum per person in the comedy room and NOT the bar at the front of the house. I completely understood this rule before I ordeed drinks. I tried to pay for 4 drinks with my date in the comedy room which would satisfy their 2 drink per person minimum. They said each person needs 2 drinks and that she would be charged for the minimum. I ended up paying for 6 drinks because I brought a date. Shouldve gave them 2 cards and split the tab. Although, the comedian was great and we had a great time except for being overcharged. I would 100% recommend if you dont bring your wife or girlfriend or if youre paying separately.
Its fun, its affordable. We always have a great time. We go about once a month on average, sometimes more. Good drinks, pretty good food snacks. This is a regular go to for us. A babysitter for our son and Mom & Dad are off the the Comedy Club. Very enjoyable!!
Great Show but Limited food menu. Typical spot - Small tables with close quarters. I was disappointed that they only offered Wings, Chips & Salsa, or Brisket Nachos. Especially with a 2 item minimum.
Had a blast at Hyenas Plano tonight! The comedians were top notch! We decided to stay for open mic night after the show and it didn’t disappoint! Would totally recommend!!!!
Had a blast I love how the comedian threw us in the act. The food was great beer was great and all around had a blast!!! Will be going again
Good laughs, with decent light food and drinks. Its an extra $5 for preferred tickets, which allows you to sit down at the tables in the theater earlier. Theres also a minimum order of good and drinks (two items per person). The drinks are decent, and Id recommend the brisket (available on sliders and nachos) if youre getting food. The seating can be pretty cramped - if youre less than a party of four, expect to get to know some strangers at your table really well.
Fantastic experience. Ive been to each of the 3 in the metroplex and all of them are great. The talent and staff are amazing and the prices are reasonable.
We enjoyed the comedy club CJ star was the headliner and he was hysterical. There were three others that did 5 minutes comedy presentations two of the three were very good one was mediocre. But the headliner was great. The only thing I would say coming out of Hyena Comedy Club is that the seating arrangements are not comfortable. I found myself fidgeting a lot and very stiff when I stood up to leave. But its a great value for the money and the talent was excellent
Cozy venue with attentive wait staff. The headline comedian we saw had us in stitches and was well worth the 2 drink minimum which came out to $33 total for my wife and I. Food options are fairly limited.
Had so much fun there with my girlfriend and friends. I would have liked to have to stay longer but we are planning on going back.
CJ Star and Seth were very funny. Enjoyed the show. Definitely adult material, which was not a surprise, and the minimum of two menu items per person. The menu choices were short but the chicken tenders were pretty good.
It was about the same price as a movie so it was nice for a night out Was a fun time. The evening was quite short, and we wished we could have more comedy. The beverages were average priced. The food menu was very small. Frozen food and there wasnt much to choose from which is fine if you are having dinner right before or after. They have a two drink or one drink one food minimum which isnt hard to hit. For about the price of a movie you get some fresh comedy which I find more entertaining than the latest remake or outtake on some comic book. It was fun we would do it again
When its a rule 2 items have to be ordered, the food should be at least room temp, if its supposed to be hot. Our food was cold. Not even warm. Wondering how long the baskets sat on a counter. Of the 4 items ordered, the fries for us both as well as the chicken strips were cold. I didnt eat anything except one brisket slider, which was warm. Those tasted good. Will not order food there again. May not go there again. As a non drinker, having tasty food is important. Hyenas failed in my opinion. The comedians were very good, which saved the night.
I went there to see Kerwin Claiborne and I had a blast. The staff were respectful and informative. My first experience at a comedy show and I was very happy with the overall place.
Love this place. Met my wife at the dallas location. Good comedy, good staff 100% recommend this place.
Saw Chelcie Lynn here a few weeks back. Great location and good sized venue. No matter where you sit you have a good spot.
The show was good found good seats. However, I dont understand how you have a two item minimum and you closed the kitchen 45 mins into the show. So, that left us having to order two drinks. Not cool at all.**I m editing my review to reply to the response from the owner. ***Ive visited several comedy clubs with the industry standards two item minimum and the kitchen was NEVER closed within 45 minutes into the show. BTW I never said we had to order two alcoholic beverages.
We had a terrible experience this past Saturday with wait staff service. We went to the last show of the evening. We sat stage right three tables back. While we had decent seats for not having preferred seating, we didn’t get waited on until mid-way of the second comedian, the one that plays after the host tells jokes, then before the headliner. The tables around us had their server come by 3-4 times before we had even seen our server. Finally order drinks hoping to receive them before the head liner comes on. 40 minutes later and almost half way through the headliner we received our drinks. Their mix drinks are awful, and we aren’t quite sure if they even put alcohol in them even though they charged us for it. The pina colada tasted like straight up sugar and the electric lemonade also tasted just like lemonade. The place requires you to order 2 items per person, so the lady came back to me after I finish my wine, for last call. I told her I rather not order another drink because it took way too long to receive my first drink. So I ordered a water to make them happy and satisfy their rule of 2 items per customer. Tickets come out and they add a 15% percent tip on there. I was not happy because our table didn’t receive the service that was deserving of a tip, plus the trashy mixed drinks. Now, the comedians were good, it was just the service and product that was just not okay. They said at the end they apologized for the service being slow because they had way more people then they expected. But if that were true, why did the tables in front of us receive great service? I don’t think we will be back to this location. We have had much better experiences with the Dallas location. Also, we had seen the Host a few weeks back at the Dallas location. We were disappointed that it was the same host and he told exactly the same jokes. He was just kinda awkward as a comedian. But some stuff he said was funny.
Always a laugh! HA!The staff are very friendly and the comedians always deliver. Parking is abundant and extremely well lit. Perfect for a date or a family event. There is a minimum purchase per person off the menu, but its worth it!
Saw Big Jay Oakerson on a Saturday night and it was a great show. Drinks were strong and well priced, amazing night of comedy all around. Would definitely recommend for anybody who wants a good night of comedy
Ive been to this location a few times, Carly the bartender is great, always does a great job with drinks. The comedians are typically pretty funny. No complaints, will continue to frequent this comedy club.
We went to see Murray the magician here. The act was cool. The location is great. Not far. The establishment seems clean enough. Didnt order any food. We just had 2 drinks each on our 2 item minimum order.
Its a good place to see a show. Their menu could use some more food options, menu focuses mostly on alcohol which is fine but I dont drink due to medical issues and some people personally choose not to. Would make the 2 item minimum easier to reach. Plus I know a lot of people who get the munchies when they drink and would order tons.
We used a Groupon to obtain a discount, unfortunately they nickel and dime you on other things like paying an extra $5 each to get in earlier. You also have to but a minimum of 2 items off the menu while you are there. The food is your typical bar food that is overpriced. The comedy was good. Just get there 5 minutes before show time and save yourself the expense of paying additional to get in early. Especially on a weeknight.
Great place, comfortable setting! Sign up for their mailing list and get free tickets! Upgrade to VIP for $5 to be seated first :)
The comics were great. But the food and drinks are over priced and under whelming. I bought 1 bottled beer, a Halloween themed drink (that was actually really good) and an order of 6 mozzarella sticks. I spent $26. The mozzarella sticks were over cooked and room temp by the time I got them.
For some reason the Plano location Facebook has comments and reviews turned off. So this is my review for the Plano location. The show itself was amazing. I have been a fan of Chelcie and the crew since she first started. So happy we got to see her begin her stand up career we love you Chelcie!!Now for Hyenas Plano Location.. that’s a diff story. The waitresses and the guys at the door, all nice. No complaints on the staff. However, the food is absolutely disgusting and ice cold. They were dollar store appetizers thawed and served. There is no way they even hit a microwave. The drinks are watered down and over priced. Def get beer if you go so you can somewhat catch a buzz. And there were two awful overly drunk broads sitting behind me kneeing me in the back the whole time. Everyone in the immediate area was annoyed w them. But we kept it cool and tried to enjoy the show as difficult as they made it. They wouldn’t stop talking, coughing in our backs, yelling. And the staff never once did anything about it.If this place would invest some more time and money into their service, food, drinks and get a decent bartender, it could be a much better experience.
I went on a FREE THURSDAY NIGHT... DRINK MINIMUM 2 PER PERSON.... they told me at the it was only FREE SOME THURSDAY.... but on there website it say EVERY THURSDAYS NIGHT . I EXPLAIN THAT TO THE DOOR GIRL AND THE MANAGER WHEN I CALLED THEY SAID IT WAS TOTAL 30$.. NOW BUT WHEN ME N MY GUEST GOT IN THERE THE PEOPLE NEXT TO ME ON BOTH SIDES SAID THEY DID PAY TO GET IT NOR DID THEY HAVE RESERVATIONS ... SO WHATS MAKES ME SO UPSET IS EVEN THE COMEDICS SAID WELCOME TO THE FREE NIGHTS AND MAKE A JOKE ABOUT IT . SO THEY ONLY CHARGE PEOPLE THEY WANT TO CHARGE.... I DO NOT THINK ITS FAIR AT ALL I WOULD NEVER GO BACK BEEN HERE BEFORE BUT NOT AFTER THIS PLUS THE DRINKS WAS WATER DOWN. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE HORRIBLE WAY TO TREAT SOMEONE... MANAGER DID NOT ONCE SAY OK IM SORRY LET ME REFUND YOU MONEY I WENT OVER 60 DOLLAR THIS NIGHT WHEN OTHER ONLY PAID FOR THE PRICES OF THERE DRINKS....SMH
Always a nice place to visit. I wish the seating was better.
Got to see Andrew Dice Clay here was great. Building is small and you really get a close view of the comic . Has a 2 drink minimum so we had beer and Martinis. Both were good didnt have to wait very long. Got the general admission tickets because preferred was sold out. Preferred gets you in to pick a front row seat of your choice. Bouncer was a bit annoying walking in front of us. But overall a great time. Bonus was Dice tapped me on the shoulder and said how you doing guy.
I have never been to a comedy club before but it was... Meh. I dont like the fact that my friend and I had to sit with another couple. The table was small and the chairs were not comfortable to sit in during the entire show. We ordered a meal and I couldnt even eat properly and watch the show. I had to hold my food and sit awkwardly in my chair so I could have some room. Im sure if we paid an additional $25 for private seating it would have been better, but come on. That was ridiculous. And the waitresses that took my order for another drink took an incredibly long time to bring me another drink. She would serve everyone else that bought alcoholic beverages before serving me. Two things wrong with this picture. 1. I was pregnant and I wanted something to drink. So if you ONLY served people who ordered an alcoholic drink first before someone who cannot drink, then there needs to be a change in that. And 2. Even if I wasnt drinking I could have been my friends DD so making sure someone that was driving a friend home after drinking should be made important as well. Not because it was a free show and you HAD to buy things. I ordered a soda, so we WERE paying for it.
The warmed freezer food is not appetizing to have to buy two items per person. The drinks and bartenders are great.
Saw Dean Edwards and a couple of other opening comedians, all were good but of course the headliner was very funny. The staff was not pushy at all (for the 2 drink min). Will come again for sure.
Showed up to see Jerry Rocha live, hands down the best live performance Ive seen in a while.Moody and Jack Derrick opened the show, great material met an amazing crowd. Nothing but love for craft on stage, everyone had a good time. Truly a memorable show.Looking forward to catch more shows here. There is a two item minimum, but its worth it. How can you kick back at a comedy show without ordering at least one drink???
Good place but they should have a better lounge so people can show up earlier.
Good place for a comedy show. Hit or miss with the comedians, but I feel like that is any show. The service could be a bit quicker and the food is bar style.
Great staff and comedians. Went for a free Thursday show and was pleasantly surprised by my experience. Will definitely be back.
First time at this club. Good show. We will be back. Free shows on Thursdays!
Show was good. But the drinks are really water down.I would stick with beer if I was going to another show.
Super comedy club with great comics there. They have a menu there but its easier to have a meal before or after going there. Need to get two items per person. We got 2 drinks for me and a drink and nachos for my date.
Had a lot of fun here tried the sampler platter which is pretty good drinks werent too bad either I went on a Thursday which is a free night I just happened to get lucky planning to go the day new location inside they have a bar and then the stage room so you can meet the comedians after! Hillarious lineup when I went! Definitely recommend going.
I would put 0 stars but it will not let me!! Take your Plano location off of Google if it is shur down!!! People make plans drive to find it closed! Thanks alot!!!!
First time here. The staff was really friendly and nice place to see some great comedy. Saw Dustin Ybarra tonight. Hilarious!
Had a blast..mix up with a few of our parties food, but that was taken care of. Thanks for a funny nite out
Ive seen Collin Moulton and JP Sears here... Always a great show with good talent. Couldnt give five stars because their food has been cold and unappealing both visits... But the employees were awesome. Good service, always had a drink if i wanted one.
The entertainer was great. The only reason I didnt give 5 stars is the way they seat everyone.
Funny performers and staff(everytime i go). Good wait staff. Clean building. Nice lighting. I will continue to come back.
Date night for me and the hubby and we laughed so hard, its quite small but thank goodness we sat with some pretty cool people
Drinks were great, good was good and all the comedians were hilarious. Will be a regular at this point. Excellent experience!
Seriously the best! The staff is awesome, the comedian I saw was nick guerra and he was beyond hilarious. Ive been several times and its seriously worth going to. They have where you can win free tickets, and go to a show almost free the only catch is each person had to order 2things. It can be a drink and appetizer or just 2 drinks. Anyways seriously a perfect date night!!!
Someone busted their head from passing out in the waiting line and got a concussion, none of the staff seemed to care or do anything but they carried on with the show after packing everyone in like sardines in a can.. then charge you $5 for water oh and you must buy at least 2 items PER PERSON after the show starts anything at the bar beforehand doesnt count apparently, so bring an extra 20 bucks. The comics were pretty funny though!
It was an entertaining show. The chips and salsa could be better. We had fun.
So much fun! Comedians were awesome! I laughed the entire time! Will return for sure!
Thursday nights free comedy show (with two drink minimum). Good value.
Its fun once in a blue moon, but with drinks watered down and food so expensive it is not a normal date night kind of thing. Even if you pay for preferred seating you are still squished up against people you dont know in a room that was really HOT! Poor comics where melting!
Had an amazing time at this comedy club. The line ups were all hilarious and kept cracking jokes to the point our stomachs hurt. I got a cheaper price on Groupon for admission tickets. Had to buy two items on the menu per person and I have to say their virgin drinks were delicious. We went there half hour before the time but wasn’t necessary because the show only started by 9:15. It ended around 11:30pm with our stomachs aching from all the laughter. I will definitely go back for more live comedy!!
This is a great venue and the comedians were great. The seating allows for good access to the stage no matter where you are sitting. Will definitely go again.
2 stars because the comedy acts were decent. They would literally force you to buy a minimum of two items per person in the show room. They add compulsory gratuity to your total and somehow ask for more. The menu items are lackluster and your only option is booze. The seating is appalling. You’re forced to share a table with random people, disregarding the numerous unoccupied tables.
Fun time with friends, and funny dudes kept us laughing. Good deal, worth going.
Had a blast here with the group we went with. There were three comedians - all hilarious. Drinks werent terribly priced, which was nice considering theres a two drink minimum. You can sign up to get free tickets too, which is always awesome (and upgrade to premium for $5 at the door).
Don’t waste your money on drinks, they are watered down. Was here with my wife and a couple of friends. We all ordered drinks and none had alcohol and if they did It was watered down.
Great Saturday night. Waitress was a bit all over the place. Kept messing drinks up
Had a great time. Drinks were very good. Food was bar food but good.
Loved every minute of it ....w you have to order two things off the menu at least but it was good
Great time with friends, comics were funny with timely content
Always funny and fun. The wait staff are personable and helpful. The food is way better than expected, I have never had better wings. Order early, sometimes it takes a while to get your food order out to you. Word to the wise, the preferred seating is the way to go, any thing you order before you are seated does not count.towards your 2 item minimum but food does. Have a great time and enjoy yourself, I have had many drinks given to me by the comedians, just for laughing and responding in an interesting way to the comics.
My wife and I love going to this place on date nights. The comedians are hilarious. I’m on their email list so sometimes I can get in for free.
We visited on Saturday for 7pm show.Overall the experience is okay. Food and drink is nothing special mostly are finger food (wings are good thou), our table service is good. There are 4 comedians and I like most of them. The only part I dont like is the check in process is a little bit confusing. No one check our tickets, we waited at the lobby for 40 mins before they let us in. I made reservation a week ago for my husband birthday but they didnt really reserve a table for us. They separate 6 of us to two different tables because the table is very small and keep on telling us we cant merge two tables together. If you plan on checking out this place, better come in a small group (4 max). Not the best place to celebrate your birthday with a group of people either. And no birthday cake.
Great show. Nice space. Plenty of parking.
GREAT entertainment and hilarious comedy! Dallas has a really good comedy scene! Ive been to two open mics the past two Fridays. For $20 entry you get to see six whole hours of professional and hysterical local and touring comedians as well as those trying out new material. Its like being in the writers room after 10pm. One of the most fun nights weve ever had! Friendly bartenders and laid-back vibe. Really funny people!
Great homegrown feel comedians with light improv. Memorable night!
Awful!! Do not come here!! The staff could care less about the customers!! One if the worst places I’ve been in a very LONG time
The food isnt that great but who can eat while laughing so much. They also have a good milk stout beer available. Ill drink water before the typical high mass cheap brews.
We had a blast! Great wait staff amazing comics! We will visit again!
Nice big venue, great comedians, and an awesome list of drinks and food with options for vegans and non-drinkers! I ordered a delicious berry slushie and fries, after getting in for free--they randomly give away tickets if you fill out the cards on the tables--as there was a two item minimum purchase required for free attendance. I still ended up spending less than $12 though, and the entertainment was definitely worth the price of admission! Definitely recommend this comedy club for anyone looking for a fun destination with friends or family!
It was fun, waitress forgot my food and drinks took 40 minutes but the comedians were great
We always have a good time here! The wait to get to your seats seems long sometimes but overall a good time. The majority of the wait staff is awesome.
Great place. Always get a good laugh and food when I go here
Loved it! Cozy venue, great atmosphere. Super clean. Prices a little high maybe but not overly so. Friendly staff. Cant wait to go back.
I love Hyenas staff and the service they have. If you ever need a night to get out after a long work week or etc, I would definitely recommend a night of laughs here. I do go on a regular basis and have not had any issues. And the comedians are funny too.
Loved the comedians. I was not a big fan of the food. But the acts were great!!
So fun. Comedians were all great. Sore from laughing.
Couldnt stop laughing the whole night
Great service .. great drinks nice size place....
I can not remember the last time I laughed so hard that I started to cry.Comedians are very funny and made my birthday celebration a memorable one
Good prices, decent acts and the food was surprisingly affordable.
Loved the show. Nice club and seating. Will definitely return to see another.
First time at a comedy club and ot was fantastic, a little smaller than I imagined but other than that the drinks and food were great
Thank you so much for sharing with the world a moment to laughter and a smile I enjoy my experience each time I visit!
Great place. Free tickets...2 drink min.
This place has no class. None. The first room you enter is just an open space like a cattle pen. Theres really nothing to look at... no artwork, no interesting colors, no textures... just plain old drywall and people packed in. Oh, there is a bar if youre just there to get drunk, I suppose. Even it is nothing to look at.Every person is required to order two items off of their menu once in the seating area. Bought something at the bar in the cattle pen? Oh, that doesnt count... To be fair, the prices on the menu are reasonable with a decent selection and I enjoyed my nachos and beer. However, my wife and I ended up spending $30 just to get our four items + tip.The sound system could definitely be improved... I was reasonably close to the stage and still had difficulty hearing the comedians at times. The room is also fairly packed, but that seems to be the standard for comedy clubs.I wasnt thrilled with the headliner, but I dont blame the club for that. The two acts before the headliner were actually very entertaining and made the experience worthwhile.
