The venue is cool. Full of things for the kiddos to run around and do. Was not very happy with the price tag when told that 1 of the inside jungle gym play areas would be open, only to find BOTH were closed. This was major for the smaller kids who don’t have the attention span to sit and color repeatedly. Age definitely makes a difference. We also were interrupted as we finished pizza, and told we needed to move out of the room. The proper communication and time management by staff was nonexistent. I had to go to the room twice to ask the attendant if we could come into the room (although set up) and if it was time to gather the kids for pizza(?). She wasn’t very assertive, but maybe was new. So here we were now having to move out before we could have cake. Once moved out, I literally watched the room do nothing, but be cleaned up and the door closed. Not professional at all ... not hospitable at all. If nothing else was booked, and I do understand that we didn’t know exactly how it worked, but there could’ve been some better direction from the staff to help us not waste time. It was just entirely too much to pay for the way this day was handled and the misinformation provided.
This is a great place in Plano for kids aged 3 to 12 to enjoy a bunch of play and activity areas. They have small little areas of coloring that brings out kids imagination. Area to play with play dough. They gave fun little station where using Crayola kids can make a Crayola rings, emoji, an artistic picture. Machine dies all those but kids get to choose the colors and put them in machine and saw it being made in front of them. They also has a place which shows how the crayons being made. They call it Crayola factory. That is must watch.Note: Important thing to know, as noone told us and we figured it out on our 2nd trip. When you enter for each person they give you one transparent bag. Bag has One voucher (that you can exchange to get a small coloring toy, one per vouncher), 2 coins per bag (that you can use to create your personalised crayon label, or you can use it to get the free dough and use that dough to create things as per your imagination). And the packet also has one Crayola colors packet.
This is a great place to spend 1-2 hours. Theres a variety of art stations of varying skill level. So for example my 2 yr old can have fun just rolling the modeling stuff while an older kid can actually create the monthly art project they give for inspiration. Fun place that makes engages their minds. Just waiting for playground part to open ha
Due to Covid, attendance is limited, and so are the experiences. Several of the stations are closed. I did not see enough workers sanitizing the commonly used items and tables that must be touched. There were only two people with sanitizing carts. And, there are no hand sanitizers to be used except at the door. Im glad I brought my own! Of the two items that are emailed (picture and video), only the video arrived. Even though my granddaughter was standing in the correct place, she did not appear on the video. Both of those stations need to be addressed by staff. Step it up! Im a bit disappointed in this experience.
Very disappointed that Crayola Experience will not extend our annual passes to an appropriate date that it would be safe to take our high risk daughter to enjoy their facility. We have been on lockdown for almost nine months due to COVID and her having muscular dystrophy. This decision on their behalf makes me sad for my daughter and question Crayola as a company.
We had so much fun at crayola experience. I brought my 5 and 3 year old. I do have to say this is a great place where you can make crayons and stations where you can make art. I give a 4-star rating because not only do they make crayons there, their food also tastes like crayons. We bought a family meal deal(a large pepperoni pizza and 4 drinks) and some nachos. The nacho cheese color was questionable and the chips were stale. And although the pizza looked great from far away, once we got it on our table, a Tostinos pizza from the frozen aisle looked more appetizing. The amount of sauce put on the pizza was enough to sink the Titanic. They sprinkled on 1/4 Cup of cheese and maybe 5 pepperoni. After scraping off the sauce, I barely managed 1 slice. I didn’t want to waste the pizza so started on my second when I realized the crust was doughy and stringy( I think it was frozen crust). I know, it’s like an obvious, why would you order pizza at a crayola experience but hey, when a lunchable pizza tastes better(and I would a 1000 times over rather eat a lunchable pizza) you might need to rethink how you make your pizza. 39 dollars for the travesty that you would call a pizza. Other than that, it was a fantastic experience and so much fun for the kids, just DONT EAT THE PIZZA!
Really displeased with their service and how they communicate with customers. They should make it very clear on their policy’s regarding clear bags and mask for children 3 and up. In addition the play area is closed which doesnt make this place worth it for the money. Disappointed in customer service and overall trip on Veterans Day
Overall, this was a fun experience for our daughters, ages 1 and 3. However, there were a few downsides to our first visit. The first of which was that our 3 year old daughter had to wear a mask which is awfully strict considering that the state doesnt require it. Second was that the jungle gym was closed which is what a vast majority of younger kids are most excited about. Thirdly, the staff just didnt seem to want to be there. A majority of the staff members that we encountered were not very friendly. On a side note, its awfully expensive when having both parents there, considering that its $25 per person ages 3+.
A Unique and fun place for kids to get creative! I learned so much from the crayon factory theater. Would definitily recommend for birthday parties. Staff is friendly and do their best to help out.
I enjoyed the park even under covid protocol. Though most of the attractions were cut due to the pandemic, it was still a great experience as the name states.
A local recommended this place. Get your tickets online it’s cheaper and this place isn’t cheap. Also we had several questions for the counter girl and she couldn’t answer a single question. Something we weren’t expecting to pay for were adult tickets. There is not really much for adults to do but they do charge you the full price. They have mostly hourly employees that seemed a little clueless throughout. Everyone was nice but not a single employee was smiling or looking like the enjoyed their job. Pretty much all the computer/on the screen areas did not work. Frustrating when you’ve spent over $100 to get in. Our kids of course enjoyed it but would get super frustrated at all the broken equipment. There is food and party rooms but we didn’t partake in those. I wouldn’t do this experience again.
Really exceeded my expectations! So much included with admission tickets. Not like some places where every little thing is an extra cost. Crayon melting spin art, and crayon melting into molds are included. Also each person (even adults) gets a voucher for a free scrubby pet. Each person also gets tokens to use to name and wrap own crayon or to use in model magic clay vending machines. We visited when they opening at 10 during the week and there was hardly anyone else there. Because of pandemic they have limited capacity and you reserve a time slot to enter when you buy tickets online. A few attractions were closed because of covid but we definitely did not think we missed out. My 7 and 2 year old had a blast!
I took my kids here and they loved it. Many activities for my 7 year old son. Is a little bit pricey but you can spend more than 2 hours easily. We went by the end of the day so cleanliness was an issue, I think staff can do more to have it in better shape
Requiring masks for children ages 3 and older (with no exceptions for special needs) is beyond ridiculous. Local government guidelines recommend masks for ages 10 and up, which is also strict, but to go beyond that is an abuse of power. Guess were free to take our business elsewhere, which well do.
Spend at least 4-5 hours with kids. Amazing place! Very colorful and every station has an activity!! Some take home sovereign. The store is a little expensive I felt. You can buy the same at Walmart at half the price. But definitely worth a place to enjoy life with your kids!!
Weve gotten annual passes to Crayola since they opened. I have three boys who arent very artsy, but they still enjoy coming here. We went for the first time today since the pandemic began and I was pleasantly surprised. There werent too many people and it was easy to stay apart. The lines for attractions were really short and there were plenty of activities to enjoy. The play structure was closed, which disappointing since thats my kids favorite part, but other than that it was a good experience.
So many family fun activities with creative, colorful learning all around. Had a blast. Cant wair to go back. Only downside is the wax hands are expensive and not included in the ticket price. Other than that our family enjoyed our visit!
This was my first time going to the Crayola Experience Amusement park in Plano. I had purchased 2 annual passes online which they are $29.99 ea. which in total with tax costed $64.93. The tickets were for one adult, one for a 4 year old and my son was (free) since hes only 2 years old. I highly recommend with going with the annual passes online because they are only $10 more than the general admission tickets which are $19.99 ea. and is a one time entrance which is not worth it if you plan on going several times. Once youve purchased your tickets online you will receive your e-ticket through your e-mail and will have to print it out at home. You (wont) be able to print it at the Crayola Experience in Plano. They are temporary print out annual passes and is used as a one time thing until you go there and hand your print outs at the register and will exchange them for hard copies at the register. My kids and I had such a wonderful time and experience there. The environment was clean and the staff were so nice to me and went out of their way and gave me an introduction showing me a map of what to do and what to expect.
One of the unique experiences for kids and also adults. Adults can stress relief by coloring along with kids. Good family time with kids. Kids can have excellent kids time . There are photo booths, theatre play area, design your avatar station, crayon melting stations to make toys out of them, great store and reasonable yearly pass entry fee and some discounts at the Crayola store . Good number of staff in premise . Good crave this crowd. Many many more for kids . Recommendable . Descent indoor parking lot for Crayola entrance . Good food stations .
Was great before the virus! But now it seems like they either need to open up more, or add something new. If Disney only had 3 rides it wont be long before the fire is gone.
The kids had fun and it wasn’t too crowded. Lots of good activities for younger kiddos. My older 2 were a little underwhelmed but we went for the benefit of their sister (6) and a precious family and her two kiddos (3 & 6). Making their own crayons was a great treat. The crafts/keepsakes were good quality.
Always a well lit store with bright displays as I walk by the store on my morning walk!
Great place all safety measures were taken. Good fun for the kids and family fun as well
Lots to see and do. Fun for toddlers and older kids. Everybody got 2 tokens and a free toy voucher. The tokens were good for a custom crayon and a packet of colored Model Magic. The kids loved the coloring station that was filled with bins and bins of crayons where they could color customized coloring pages. Overall a fun day and there were still things we didnt get to despite being there for 2-3 hours.
Lots of fun activities to do, despite the social distancing measures.
This was a fun place for our Kindergarten field trip! They made labels with their names and got to create art with melted crayons. Theres a cool show that is about how to make crayons and they actually produce crayons on site. The room smells so good!
This is a fun place to take kids to. It would be fun to have a birthday party here. Lots to do to keep the kids busy.
Excellent place to spend half a day with kids. A lot of things to do that kids and parent can do and enjoy together. I enjoyed coloring with my daughter, was drip art, wax molding, designing our own dresses and seeing the on the screen. Will deffinitelt go there again.
Good place for the family my baby liked it a lot.
Fun place, doing a great job in these Covid times. My only complaint, only five songs for their Halloween theme. Oy vey, after an hour.....
Very fun and creative place to take your kids. You can name your own crayon, make your own custom coloring page, melt crayons to make different shapes like a ring or an emoji, or melted crayon art. Its spacious and well laid out. I only wish that for the 23dls per person you pay, you would get more than 2 tokens to custom make your crayons
This was a great experience to have...unfortunately everything wasnt open due to Covid and we had difficulty with the tickets on their website but it was nice because there wasnt any lines and it was nice to have quick access to associates at anytime. The crayola experience was truly a once in a life time experience.
Adorable place. Does the job of entertaining your kids for hours. Heads up, most of the activities are arts & crafts, stuff you can do at home. The only value i see in buying an annual pass is to get out of the heat. Yall, summer is coming! If you dont want to be outside in the darn heat and need to take the kiddos somewhere to burn some energy this is a good option. Indoor playground, coloring, cafe, dirt and water. You can buy bags of dirt and have your kids look for minerals and gems. Kept my kids entertained for 2 hours. And yes that was their favorite part.
Ny kids love this. Covid precautions are on point
Absolutely worth every penny! We love this place, so much hands on activity and the next part is they switch out activities very often, always love the experience. Also great snack and food too!
Fun for literally all ages. Im 29 and I had a blast.
We easily spent 3-4hours here! If I lived around here I would get the annual pass. My 3 year old enjoyed every activity and loved wrapping up his own crayons. He especially enjoyed the melted crayon spin art and car mold.
The Crayola Experience is a fun place with some neat interactive and creative activities. I, and a friend of mine, went to check it out; neither of us have children. While she was able to get in for free, as a teacher, I had to pay full price. Thankfully I purchased my ticket online and saved a little money. That being said, I wish adults were charged a little less to get in. While we did quite a bit, as adults, we did not play in the color playground or participate in any of the activities geared towards younger children. Some of the interactive media activities felt set up for children and not so much older people; didnt sense us as easily as a child. I really enjoyed the theater where we learned a lot of neat facts about crayons and how they are made. Two of my favorite stations were the, Wrap it Up and Drip Art. While the, Melt and Mold was fun to watch, I believe it could be slightly improved; wax from the item made before gets on to what youre having made. The, Meltdown station was probably my least favorite. I felt the tool used to melt the crayons, and draw with, was difficult to use, a little messy and I wish there were more than three colors to use. Overall, I had a fun time. Maybe next time Ill look for a discount.
What a fun place for all ages!! Our group was ages 2yr to 46yr and we all had a blast making crafts, coloring, painting, molding, eating, dancing and taking lots of pix!! Great family activities for a staycation or rainy day, family in town or to release some toddler energy ️
Check out our video review on YouTube on Craving Amazing channel. This place was a kids placehouse. You can literally turn them loose and let them run free There were about 20 attractions, a snack bar, and gift shop. It’s located inside the mall.
Awesome place! Came for a nieces birthday party and was impressed with the staff and setup even amidst our current pandemic restrictions.
Excellent place for kids. There are number of stations to engage kids and families. Please plan to spend half a day to full day depending on how much your kids like painting and crayon related arts and crafts. The stations to melt crayons and make shapes of our choice was very good. There are number of staff who help across stations. Overall worth Visiting.
There were only a few customers there. Everything was spaced apart at the different stations so you are not near another family. Plenty of staff members around if you have questions. Everyone was very friendly. Only complaint is they closed at 4 pm. The website still says closing at 8 pm. Plan accordingly.
My 4 yo boy/girl twins have so much fun here! It is just big enough to not be overwhelming to take them on my own. We ended up getting a year pass since mine was free (teacher) and the great discount you get at the store! And the employees are very nice and helpful.
This is an amazing experience for adults and children alike! My 5, 3 and 2 year olds absolutely loved every minute of it! We started with hand wrapping our crayons with custom labels then moved on to family portraits we all got to color, which was followed by the making of crayon wax diamond rings of course! This then came to break for none other than the indoor playground!! We then played floor air hockey, danced with life size crayons, made wax art, painted our tiny pets we were gifted and we had a great pizza lunch! This experience can’t be beat especially for the price!! We all thoroughly enjoyed!
Our older kids love this place. I would say it’s geared towards kids ages 3 and up. There is a playground area that our 1 year old enjoyed. We’ve never gotten any food here so I can’t speak to that but the bathrooms have always been pretty clean and the staff is friendly.
Great Covid19 preventatives. Very nice staff. Fun for toddlers and adults both.
I think it’s neat that there’s a USMC snack store in the mall. As an Army veteran, it’s nice to see that the USMC veteran community is getting some attention in the DFW area.
Highly recommend the annual pass. They give you two tokens per person to exchange for a personalized crayon or modeling clay. Older kids will enjoy the interactive stations, smaller kids will enjoy the Color Magic where their drawing comes to life or melting crayons into shapes. There are two playground structures, one for toddlers and one for the older kids. There is an in-house cafe or you can eat in the mall (they allow you to re-enter the same day).A new station is the gems and rock identification, this is an additional fee and must purchase a bag of sand.It gets crowded on weekends and weekday mornings so try to avoid if possible.
Very well-maintained and friendly customer support. Very good creativity for kids
This is an awesome place to take the kids! They give you coins to make your own crayon wrappers to name a color and to get modeling clay. They have different stations to do different things with melting crayons and such. Theres an indoor playscape and food area. They have an area to do parties too. We also did wax hands which was cool. Tons of things to do and create and color!
Kids really enjoyed their time here. Loads to explore and learn. Clean and well maintained. Only reason i didnt give a 5 start is that the entrance fee is a bit high ($22) considering they only give you two coins and most every thing inside requires buying more coins or spending more cash.
Our first time here was amazing! We went on a Saturday and surprisingly wasn’t busy at all despite it being a birthday going on. There was no line going on. I got annual passes since I’m sure I’ll be back again. We were able to do everything without it being crowded at all. We went during Halloween and our kids loved it. I was very surprise there was little to no wait on a Saturday ! Overall, we’ll def be back.
Our whole family had a blast at the crayola experience. Ages 2 & 11 & 5 months. Everything was clean. Lots of activities. Every activity was open. I wouldn’t suggest you eat or drink there because it is pretty high priced. We got discounted tickets off of Groupon and it was worth every penny! We drove from Waco to Plano to go and so glad we did! I highly recommend it !
Good place for kids and family. It’s 3/4 hours fun. Good for weekend. Friendly and helpful staff.
Awesome place. Great for the price. Bought more tokens than what was needed and they exchanged them for money!! It was so awesome! Be prepared to spend 3 or 4 hours here. Also, i suggest getting an annual pass because the savings are phenomenally awesome!!!!
My daughters favorite place to be. Even better that there arent as many people due to COVID!
Very nice place. You will have to take aleast 5 hrs to cover all the things. A new experience to kids and a nice indoor family destination.
First I thought that the pricing for admission was quite high but when I came in I found out that they have a lot of activities that did not require additional payment. Also there was a lot of cool stations for the kids to make and do things.
We had a blast here! There is soo much to do! My kids loved it and we will definitely be back! I love that they give discounts to educators. Crayola rocks!
This place is awesome. There are a ton stations for the kids. Two different play places for small kids and big kids. So my 2 year old can do the slide while my two older boys play in bigger set.My family has a membership. Its worth it. We go and dont feel like we have to stay all day to get moneys worth. And that works out well for the hot summer days that weve been having.
Fun place to take the kids. Went while a fieldtrip. Kids had fun!
Took my niece and nephew here and they loved it. It was a gloomy day in February and I had them for the day unexpectedly and it was a wonderful way to pass the time. It was rather expensive but worth it.
It was amazing!Cant even put it in words. Just go see for yourself! We are definitely going back!!!
So much to do! Probably had more fun than the kids! We easily spent several hours here and we tried just about everything, went to a show, shopped and ate. Just as suggestions, I think they should have more choices of food or at least the flexibility to split the combos. Cleaning the coloring tables and food tables a little more frequently may be beneficial as well as especially with the germs you can incur with kiddos.
The parking was very convenient and it was easy to find the entrance. My daughter absolutely loved this place. There is so much for the children and even the adults to do. The prices are very cheap. We love this place and definitely want to return.
Was fun, but crowded! Went with a 2 year old and a 5 year old. Our 2 year old didnt have the attention span to enjoy, but it was great for the 5 year old.
Took my 6 and 7 year old Girl Scouts here and we absolutely loved it. I want to go back here for sure. The girls are going to try to earn enough cookie money this next season so we can attend one of their sleepover events.
The membership is definitely worth it if you go every weekend like we do.The activities are fun for my kid and the perks you get as a member are worth it as well. The downside is whoever works in the area where you gotta pick up a “pen” and paint a white piece of paper with melted Keaton (y’all know what I’m talking about), every-time we go to that station, their “pens” are empty, the person seems not to care at all and gives attitude when I bring it up.The store itself is stocked and has everything crayola!!
Great experience, so many things to do with kids for such a reasonable price! You can even get your hand stamped and come back. We dont a good chunk of the day here and my daughter loved every minute of it!
This was a fun one off visit for my family. We visited on a week day when there were very few visitors. In the 1 1/2 hours we were there, my children were able to interact with most of the activities. They colored, saw their coloring creations come to life on screen, and melted crayons to make crafts. While fun, I do not see us returning a second time. The limited scope and number of activities was fun for a single visit, but I cannot see it holding my childrens attention and providing enough learning opportunities to constitute another visit. Id highly recommend trying it out once if youre looking to try something new and fun for younger children and have some time on your hands.
Fun place and not too packed on a Saturday morning. Some of the Crayon dispensing machines that you get to create your own label, took a while to work. I waited on jungle green for about 15 mins till it began working again. In the meanwhile I eventually found an employee to tell about the machine failing to work. She said, Oh its my first day to which I replied Its my first day too. Besides having that in common she didnt seem to want to help. She eventually said shed tell someone and I guess she did since it started working again. Perhaps the machines need you to put in a token about 100 times while its in time out till it agrees to work again. All in all a great place for young kids to have fun in a mall. Plenty of activities and lots of stations with a little wait. The theater has a show every hour on the half hour, my party was about to go to the show, but went to the store to wait till the next showing then a line seemed to appear from no where and was way too long for the show so we skipped it and left for the day. Make sure you get stamped if you wish to return inside, even coming from the store which is where you exit from. The annual pass gives you discounts inside for extras and at the store. If you go twice Im sure they would pay for themselves. Some other reviews mention poor staffing and I agree they either have lack of training or good managers/mentors because they dont seem happy working there at all. Despite some minor issues, still a fun place for a crayon experience. Give it a try and be patient you will find something fun and interesting.
A little pricy for the activities we could do during this time.
Fun for kids and adults! Make your own crayon labels, paint with melted crayons, bring your drawing to life on a computer, melt a crayon into a car shape, a photobooth to create coloring pages and many more activities. Be prepared to spend a few hours here.
Wow! We had the best time here! Went ahead and bought a yearly pass since it was only a couple dollars more per person to do so. We had so much. I think MH and I loved creating our own custom crayon just as much as the kids. There are also a couple melting stations, coloring spots, digital spots—all sorts of things. It’s just a neat place. I don’t recommend lunch here. Skip out to somewhere in the mall and come back. But the place as a whole is awesome. We had no problem spending 3-4 hours here and can’t wait to come back.
Cool place to take kids. A bit overpriced, but not bad for a special outing. The make your own crayon machines are fun for kids and adults! They have some photo booths that create your own page to color, etc as well. Lots of built in souvenirs which makes the price more worth it. The staff is friendly and its kept very clean inside.
Loved!!!! Some people say its pricey, I think its great! For about $30 You ( or your child of course ) Can experience turning a photo of themselves into a coloring page as many times as they want!!!! Also, You can make your own crayons ... and name them whatever awesome name you desire . ( for example : I named my purple crayon I made Purple Rain !)There is a huge coloring station to sit and draw or color with thousands of crayons at your fingertips! A must see!!! Highly recommend!!!!!
It was really fun and neat! My young kids had a blast...but 2 stars...1. The staff... they were all teenagers which would be fine IF they were not all apparently friends who never hang out in groups of less then two or three. They were very unhelpful. I found find them grouped up talking constantly while I stand there waiting for their help. It Felt like they were not trained or that this place had zero systems to help them, as teenagers, figure out how to run a space in an organized manner.2. The grime...This place is dirty and not in a “this is a high-end mall and I found 1 dust bunny” kind of way...Dust and dust bunnies on top of a lot of walls and games, the corners of the play structure had dust and grime as if it hadn’t been cleaned in weeks. My wife and mother-in-law sat down in the food court after having to clean their own table for almost 2 hours and never saw a single person cleaning up the tables, while trash over-flowed. Again while one girl practiced her broom twirling routine and one party room and in another group of three teenagers stood around talking and showing off their phones.Worse the hand sanitizer stations where all empty. All this said I would say you should come here just make sure that you have hand sanitizer and your kids wear socks.
Our kids love coming here. We all have a season pass so we can just drop by as something to do that the kids will enjoy. There are plenty of stations to keep the kids occupied even though we have been so many times. Playground, crayon molding, short video on how crayons are made to name a few. Will keep coming back!
When my daughter and I went we had so much fun we decided to get the season pass. There is so much stuff to do your kid wont have time to ever get bored. And as a parent we are also able to interact and play which is a plus because I hate when I pay so much money to get in and the parent doesnt get to do much. As a parent I had so much fun!!!
Fun and educational experience for the little ones, and they keep the facilities very clean.
Best first time experience I shared with my grandson and loved every minute of it. The employees are helpful when you need it and kind with a genuine smile! There is so much to explore and see! Will enjoy coming back alot more with our season pass!! Glad we did it
Took our 6 and 3 yr olds, they had a blast. It was so much fun, even for us! Its not too much more to get a season pass, so if you think you might go more than once, I would definitely recommend it. We were there for 4 hours and still didnt do everything. If we lived closer, I could see us going often.
Very fun place! So many activities all over for kids to do and also play areas. My daughter loved it here will we be back !
Our boys loved the crayola experience in Dallas! We spent the entire day making memories and crayons! I have to give a shout out to the amazing staff that spent about 2 hours with me searching for my rental car keys They never gave up and we eventually found them! Special thanks to the dedicated staff our crayola experience was definitely a memory maker for the record books
Kids had a great time. Lots of activities although some of the staff was young and kind of didn’t care about being interactive with the kids there was plenty to do and see. The littles really enjoyed the movie section and all the hands on.
So much fun to do with the kids this spring break. Non stop fun. We really enjoyed this experience.
The Crayola Experience is a wonderful family fun center. You can personalize your own crayola. You can take your picture and then color it. There is a jungle gym for kids, theatre with shows daily, you can melt crayons. They have a sweet shop. They have a snack shack. In the mood for pizza, well they have it too. You can be as creative as you want. This is a perfect place for a kids birthday party. Bring the entire family because your in for a great experience. They have a store and you can fill a tin with all kinds of crayola. Whats your color? Whats your favorite color? #CrayolaExperience #CrayolaExperiencePlano #TryCrayolaExperience #BirthdayParty #Family
Excellent place to spend a few hours with family! Kids had so much fun learning while playing!!!
As Family we had a lot of fun in this place. There are so many activities for kids and learning experiences. It is a great opportunity to escape high heat outside and still have fun with kids. Prices are affordable, snacks and food available for purchase. I also noticed there are rooms for birthday parties.
We have the anual pass since summer and i never give a feedback waiting to see if things get better, but NO they didnt.Kids activities areas never are working 100%, employees looked like upset or bored all the time. They look like they dont like kids or something. Anyways. I dont think that we are going to renew or passes.
We decided to check out the “CRAYOLA Experience” in Plano Texas recently, so this review is based on January 2020.Similarly to “LEGO Land” at Grapevine Mills Mall, The Crayola Experience is a brand experience anchored onto the side of a mall. Crayola Experience is in Plano at “The Parks at Willow Bend” Mall, off the Dallas North Tollway just north of George Bush Turnpike.Admission is $23.99 per person for the day ages 3 and up, and free for 2 and below. If you buy tickets online you can get a discounted rate of $20.99, and it is possible to buy tickets online while you stand in the lobby of Crayola Experience on your phone. Our family of 4 which included one infant was approximately $65 with tax to get in for the day.The facility is very large, approximately the size of a warehouse, and has been colorfully painted in Crayola style. Everything was extremely spaced out, as if the place was designed to accommodate more than 1000 people simultaneously. It felt somewhat awkward then, that there were less than 100 people in the place on the day that we visited, making the vest facility seem sort of barren and empty. When you enter there are machines where you can create your own personalized crayon, a very nice touch, you use a token that they provide you with admission to put into the machine color of your choice and print out a custom label that you can put your name or whatever you’d like on. A nearby station allows you to apply the label to the crayon and this is one of the keepsakes that you can take back with you. If you want to buy additional tokens to make more custom crayons they are $.50 each. Many other activities in the experience are unique, like melting down crayons to make artwork, or to melt down crayons to form different shapes in a mold. The most notable was the live show which they present to every hour which actually shows the creation of a crayon from scratch from the mold process to the packaging which was actually very fascinating. Many other activities though are lackluster. Simple things like playing apps on what are essentially heavy duty iPads, or applying Snapchat filters to your face, are unremarkable experiences that could easily be duplicated at home. Much of the experience hinges on you actually coloring on pieces of paper and then scanning them into some sort of apparatus, novel but on your fifth coloring sheet you begin to wonder why you paid more than $20 to come into a room to color. In the middle of the experience is a large multi level tube style playground which was the highlight of the trip. This is arguably a value in and of itself because the facility is indoor and climate controlled, important for people here in North Texas. Still, there is nothing really Crayola about this other than the decorations, this was just a indoor playground. The facility is filled with upsell opportunities, like a candy shop, ice cream shop, a snack bar and restaurant. Most of the included experiences were pretty simple, some of them were manned by staff, but most of them were self guided experiences. After approximately three hours we were ready to go, and of course our daughter wanted to play games, eat ice cream, get souvenirs or spend more money which we had to convince her otherwise.Coming out I didn’t feel like this was an incredible value or an outstanding experience I would necessarily recommend to others. They asked me several times if I was an annual passholder, and looking back now the notion of going to this place several times a year seems especially funny to me. Three hours was certainly enough. The value of a giant indoor experience center might be better for someone who lives in the immediate vicinity was looking for a summertime activity, but as for us having a 35 minute commute from Rockwall I don’t think it’s a place that we will be visiting again this year.
We took our Grandchildren here and they really enjoyed it@ There is a cli.bing area as well as the art areas.
What a fun place to go! Even as a parent! There were so many options to choose from if one station had a longer line than another. The little art projects the kids do while there and definitely refrigerator worthy! There are station for younger kiddos and stations for older kids. One tip I would give is to vreak your crowns in half so when you are doing the spinning art. It changes the colors quicker! The interactive screens are pretty neat as will. Also they had more slurpee flavors than I have soon before. Definitely worth the trip and I would recommend the season pass
The concept is great, try out all the Crayola products in a creative environment. In practice, there isnt quite enough staff for the amount of kids that can fill the place, and a lot of the stations that need re-stocking of supplies get overlooked due to the understaffing. If you catch the place during a slow time it is going to be a blast for kids about 5-10 years old.
I took my 2 year old and it was really great- you can design a crayon, coloring sheets with your picture, dancing and so much more. We tend to camp out in the coloring section and the climbing area. They have two jungle gym areas- one for toddlers. Also, teachers use your ID badge to get in for free.
The kids enjoyed it, food & drinks overprice.
