Just saw The Wiggles at Byham this evening. The parking garage across the street was wonderful, The attendants were very helpful and made us country bumpkins at ease in the big city. The ushers at Byham were great to us and very friendly and helpful. The big glitch was The Wiggles encourage fans to make and take signs. They collect the signs and read them on stage. The children love this audience participation part of the show. Anyhow: Security would not permit me to take my signs inside. Even after I explained why I had the signs, they got the manager and the answer was still remove them. I asked if I could check them in the area where others were checking their strollers to pick up later or a coat check area, The security person said no if you do we will rip them up and throw them in the trash!. I took them next door to the hotel and they graciously held them for me until after the show. Fast forward to the part where the Wiggles collected the signs and read them on stage. Now how do you think my child felt when her sign was not among those. We drove three hours to see The Wiggles and made an effort to take things to enhance our childs enjoyment only to be disappointed that our sign was rejected but others were permitted in. An apology from the Byham is in order.

Another beautiful theater palace in downtown Pittsburgh thats worth seeing first hand. A great place to see a show and also supports local unions.

Beautiful theater in Pittsburgh. Lots of great acts come through here, some pricey and some more affordable. I love all of the theaters downtown. So, Im a little biased. All drinks come in a souvenir sippy cup...keeps the theater clean. The last show we saw there was The Countess and Friends, and it was very entertaining. Please support the arts, and go see a show in town while youre here.

The location was great, parking right across street (expensive). The staff were quite accommodating and courteous. The event I went for - Kevin OLeary - was fake - he wasnt even there.

Beautiful theater with comfortable enough seats and vintage feel to the place. I would love to come back here and do some more exploring. I only got to sit on the balcony and never went down to see it from the first floor.

A Musical Christmas Carol was amazing. The building was amazing.

We went and saw the Magic School bus. The show was great the ushers were all kind and helpful. Great theater experience with the family. Parking was easy in the lot across the street.

This is a nice theater with very polite and helpful staff. The seats are a little on the small side, so it was a little tight for me (Im not exactly a small guy) but it still wasnt bad. Just be sure to make friends with the person next to you. Also, I recommend A Christmas Carol. They did a wonderful job putting that together!

Smaller venue. No bad seats really. Would be 5 stars, but it was a kids show and there were no changing tables available!

Went to see a Christmas Carol performed by Pittsburgh CLO highly recommend this show to all. There is something for everyone!!! A very talented cast, the show makes you giggle, makes you smile, might even bring a year to your eye. Mostly it warms your heart and not to mention the Byham is such a beautiful theater. It is so welcoming and warm almost like a big hug, and no matter where you sit you can see the stage. Its such a great place for first dates, families, loved ones, or just share a wonderful moment. ️️️

Nice venue and very historic. Show variety is great. The seats really need to be upgraded though. Not enjoyable to spend 2-3 hours in them and takes away from the shows.

Seats are tight when lugging winter coats around and slightly uncomfortable, but everything else about the Byham Theater is fantastic! The staff are all so friendly and helpful. Its a beautiful theater!

Saw Newsies last year at the Byham Theater. We sat in the balcony - front row on the very side. The seats were affordable and the production was great! While its not a professional level cast, I was thoroughly impressed with the quality of the show all-around. Friends of mine at the show seemed to enjoy it less, but they are very nit-picky when it comes to the musicals. If you just go for the fun of it, you are bound to have a great time!

Quaint Old Theater! I was there for a Friday morning performance of A Christmas Carol It was a superb presentation!Parking garage is right across the street from it.

This is a beautiful venue. The workers could be a bit nicer and a little less drill-sargent. It did seems as though everyone was screaming commands to help get people in the doors and then once inside it was as if there wasnt anyone to ask where our seats were. [To tell you about the amazing show I saw wouldnt be right for reviewing a location.]

Always a great experience! Staff was wonderful and kind. The actors rocked their performance. Seating was comfortable. They even offered spill proof drinks to bring into the theatre!

Absolutely LOVE the Byham. It is small enough that I feel close to the play but big enough to feel like a grand night out on the town.

Aged but still a wonderful venue- the auditorium is certainly showing its age but the staff is wonderful, courteous, and available. The acoustics are also great even high up.** if you have a full figure you may have problems with the seats, they do not support full figured individuals. Perhaps they are wider in different parts of the auditorium (I was seated in the top tier)

The theater needs a touch up, some new seats. Just about every seat was good. We came to see Eddie Izzard, wow!

I have season tickets to the Broadway series. I love most of the shows, but the seats are so tight and uncomfortable. My man is 61, and he tolerates the discomfort for me. Im uncomfortable there, and Im only 54. Its also ridiculous to have to pay $5 for a freaking bottle of water. Is it really necessary to gouge loyal patrons like that?

The Byham is a beautiful old theatre, lots of charm and character!! In the lobby are historic photographs and timelines about the theatre through its existence. Make sure to plan a few extra minutes so you can read and enjoy the display! There’s a parking garage directly across the street too so parking is nice and easy!

Its clean friendly staff. We went to see the Christmas Carol.We take the grand kids.Its always wonderful.

Took my elderly parent to see A Christmas Carol. The theatre staff was beyond helpful in accommodating her needs. They made us feel very special. Looking forward to seeing another show!

Enough leg room, older theatre but still beautiful they even offered drinks in non spillable cups to bring into the theater for the kids. Show was great staff were especially nice.

Saw A Musical Christmas Carol with Richard Thomas as Scrooge. It was a wonderful production!! Even the students I was in attendance with were all excited watching the actors coming in through the audience or coming up through the floor. The acting and singing was superb!! I would highly recommend seeing this show.

A great theater for small, local productions. The theater can get a little hot, so dress In layers. They serve popcorn for the shows Ive been to, which isnt available at the other theaters in Pittsburgh.Install more toilets for the womens bathroom.

Smaller than I thought it would be but a nice space. Seats arent too crowded. Looks like theres a bar inside but it wasnt open when we were there for NYE comedy. It looks like you can buy a souvenir cup that lets you bring drinks to your seat.

Very dated and could use a good cleaning. Show did not provide any programs. They gave you a web address to get basic info on the musical.

We enjoyed a performance by Grupo Corpo, a Brazilian dance ensemble on January 17, 2018. It was superb. We saw another equally excellent dance event in 2017. The theater is comfortable and intimate. The acoustics and lighting are excellent and the patrons are enthusiastic. We love it. We prefer the orchestra seating which are noticeable more comfortable than the balcony seats.

Went to see a show, it was a great atmosphere with friendly staff. I appreciated the fast check in and metal detectors. It has amazing design, and I loved the stage. The only downfall is the seating. Overall was a fantastic visit. :)

Went with the family to see Rosie Revere engineer. The theater is a classic. From the seats to the stage to the fact that the restrooms are located as far away as possible. We had a good time and even way up on the top level, the view was good.

Saw the Sounds of China concert. Pretty nice place. Theres even a bar right outside. Friendly staff. But they dont have coffee. I wouldve loved to have coffee on a cold winter night while watching a show

We got to the venue at 6:00 a.m. to get front for the show they open the door next to me instead of my door 1st. We ended up getting pushed to the back of the line. We got into the venue luckily a friend had gotten up to the front of the theater doors. Then when we got into the venue the girls pushed in front of us and we got 5 rows back instead of 1st. Then a couple minutes before show time the Usher told us we can move to the middle section that was reserved. We sat there for a good 5 minutes then someone came back and said thats my seat. I moved in told the lady that told us that we could move what Just happen. She said well its not My fault.. She Smirked And pointed to a seat in the back of the venue. I have never been treated so rudely in my life I will never come back to this pin you the staff is Horrible. I was even helping people before we got let in telling them where to go. Pittsburgh is a horrible city and so is this venue.

A wonderful way to spend your afternoon! Kind people and wonderful place. Very small but it gives you a personal feel.

I love the Byham, but their new security checkpoint needs some work. I didn’t carry a purse at a recent show because I knew that metal detectors had been installed; I thought it would be easier to not carry a bag. They didn’t have bins for items, and the guard told me to carry my phone and keys at chest level through the detector. Then they had to wand me because it beeped. Maybe they could rethink asking patrons to deliberately carry metal through the detectors.The show was good, and the theater was clean. Ushers are friendly and helpful. Parking is easy to find, and there are plenty of good restaurants nearby.

Its an older building, that being said there is no leg room, which makes sitting any lenght of time uncomfortable. The restrooms are located in the bottom part of the building.

Gorgeous old fashioned architecture throughout the building. The seats are on the smaller side. Their is a bar available and one can order drinks to take inside the theater if you purchase their souvenir cup with a lid. Candy, coffee, and sugar roasted nuts are available too to buy.

Seeing a show here was a fun experience. The theater is beautiful, but it is in need of maintainence. The leg room while seated was worse than flying coach.

The theatre is not in the best shape and has less leg room than other theatres in the area, but generally the people are friendly and its not a horrible venue. If someone you want to see is going to be there, its an okay theatre.Since they changed their security policies, those people are hit or miss and the one was very rude to us and yelling over nothing (much like the experiences we had with the Benedum Center since they changed security). I understand security procedures changing, but Im not clear on why so many of the people theyve hired have to be very rude.

Seen Kevin OLeary, was a moving moment for me! Time to take action on my goals! And achieve them!

An adsolutely beautiful place that also has shows for children. I took my two girls there and the staff was helpful and accommodating! Make sure you visit soon for a great show!

My wife and I were here at a Jim brickman concert during Valentines weekend. I was impressed with how many staff were present.There was a candy stand if you wanted something sweet and a bar if you were a little thirsty.This is an older theater that can use a bit of maintenance and detailing. However, it didnt take away from our experience. Jim brickman is a natural entertainer and he had some wonderful singers accompanying him.Overall we had a really nice evening there.

Went here to see Lucinda Williams, and it was the perfect place for an intimate concert, which she performed beautifully

This is a lovely old theater right downtown, near the waterfront, and in close proximity to all kinds of great places to eat or get a drink before or after the show.We were in row E, and in spite of being just about at the very left edge of the theater, we had a good view of everything going on.

Staff are very friendly. Dont sit on the sides because you cant see the entire stage. Wish we would have known this. Location is great.

Should be completely handicapped accessible.Seats were upstairs and u could go to 4 and walk up some steps or to 5 and walk down.Ridiculous.I forgot to ask if the bathroom was accessible.
