$4 will get you the audio tour and a key to open the 1st floor rooms. The 3rd floor rooms are FREE and open with a switch that will play the tour info overhead. It is easy to spend an hour or more looking at each of the rooms. Some rooms have much more intricate details than others but the overall concept of being able to see a little bit of history from so many places in a single visit is well worth the time. When your done, take a ride to the 36th floor for a quick view of the city.

Annette was an excellent and knowledgeable docent. She took her time and spent well over 2 hours giving us detailed information on the 18 nationality rooms on the first floor. I then self toured the 13 remaining rooms on the 3rd floor.Highly recommended!

We had the chance to visit the National Rooms and the experience was great! Each room had a guide who explained the details of the room as well the Christmas customs for each country that the room represents. Christmas at the Nationality Rooms is a treat for the decorations, descriptions, food, dance and other activities. The first Sunday of December youll get even more at their annual open house

If you are in the oalkand area, you gotta check it out. They have an entire floor to explire for free. Great place to bring and educate your children. They have buttons by each entry that will narrarate information about the room you are in. If you have the money, you can pay to see extra rooms. Ive been a few times with the kids and they enjoy the learning experience.

These are such a gem! It sounds kind of like a silly attraction (rooms in a larger building, decorated in the vernacular style and architecture of different ethnic and national groups), but these are really a must-see stop for any visitors that come to Pittsburgh for the first time. Also worth checking out again during the holiday season!

Free parking on weekends, free self guided tour of the top floor, a building that feels like Game of Thrones or Harry Potter, and this place turned out to be really nice. The rooms are cool and have tons of detail, with each room having its own audio recording that you turn on when you enter the room. Its really worth going.

A lot of work has been put into making accurate cultural historic rooms. They are maintained very well. Self guided and free to view. Major events around Christmas.

On the first floor of the CoL, different nations are represented in a strange half-Christmas (probably seasonal) half-historical setting. Learn about their culture, history and how Pitt students study. A worthy, weird quirky add-on to any trip to Pittsburgh.

If youre visiting a Pittsburgh, its a must see. I went to Pitt, most of my classes where in the cathedral and never appreciated the building as much as I should have.
