Freedom Lake Park is a great place for you to spend time with friends and family. For kids is a large safeguarded playground. For adults if you choose there is a exercise gym with many various station for different exercises using your own free weight. Come on Im a lady pick up those weights for wildlife enthusiast there is a variety of birds and fish around the lake. As if this was not enough there are Pavilion in which you can charcoal barbecue grill actually here and hold parties there as well.

This is a great Park to go to they have a nice Trail to walk around the pond and its very clean I like the Monuments to the military service personnel and the Jet

I just went here for the first time and it was very quiet and peaceful. There are paved trails around the lake. The dog park is very big. There’s a workout area, covered picnic area and even a playground for kids. I’ll definitely be back.

Love this park. Great walking paths and some interesting wildlife.

I took the grandson here to run with me and play in the playground. Next time I want to fish with him. He thought the plane was really cool.

Shaded tables, plenty of benches, playground for kids about 5+, exercise area with fitness equipment, bathrooms and water fountains. All right on the lake with a little dock. Great for kids, also has a running path. Lots of friendly little animals that seem to be pretty tolerant of humans.

Water, ducks and birds, dog parks for large and small dogs, outdoor exercise equipment, picnic areas, a bit of history to it. On the small side but safe and clean.

I love going to this park the people that go to this park are nice and so are the people that work there.

Freedom lake is a beautiful park. Loved the excersise site, however too many transients and makes parents such of myself nervous. Another thing us the kids playgrounds should be more shade on both swings and the entire playground.

Been here twice now and love it. Love the trails around the lakes are great, the picnic & pavilion areas areas are really nice and it has this really cool workout pavillion! Plus great dog parks, which is why we go!

A beautiful place to watch the sunrise

I actually went here to check out the free fitness equipment Id read about. I was able to check it a little but the equipment was overrun with a dozen toddlers that were using the equipment like jungle gym equipment. Its supposed to be age restricted but the parents just supervised their children as they used the equipment in unsafe ways. It was disruptive and stressful and I was very disappointed. I was hoping to find a fitness alternative outside of hiking during covid.

I shouldnt give it five stars but there is such an issue with homeless hanging out there sometimes they approach you and aggressive so beware of your surroundings please. I do love walking there nice walking trail around both little Lakes. Lot of wildlife which is awesome to take pictures of and the bald eagle in the cell phone tower is a plus

Had a baby shower there today. Everyone had a good time. We were between a play area and a workout spot with a beautiful view of the lake. Theres a dog park, convenient bathrooms, grills and large pavilions you can reserve for your own event.

Went for a picnic with a couple of friends at Freedom Lake Park. Was windy, and VERY nice outside. So good to be outdoors with friends. Almost thought we were not in the middle of a pandemic even. We practiced social distancing, and common sense, and had a wonderful time.

Our first time there today. Saw a couple homeless people but they didnt bother us. Great walking paths around the water. Some good wildlife around. The squirrels look at you like theyre almost going to ask you for a treat.

Its a great park bathrooms are clean my grandbaby is a little too young to know about staying away from the water but other than that all fun!!

Pretty park with a two loop trail allowing you to walk without worry of cars and street crossings. It has a dog park and even a workout station with equipment. The only reason why I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because the two loops combined only makes about a mile so thats quite a few loops for long mileage but better than most parks in the area.

Never new it was called freedom park; Ill have to do more history on it, but my dogs love it here. Be sure to bring food for squirrels and wild life they are all very human friendly. Theres also a childrens library FREE so feel free to take a book or bring some. Poop Bags are also supplied at park! Nice park dedicated to Korean War veterans. Has a workout/calisthenics area, electric toy boat area, kids playground, dog park, pavilions, bathrooms, and a walking/running path with running mileage markers. The sound from 49th street/US 19 is intrusive.

Very nice park with two good dog park areas with grass. The one issue we had is that there are chickens at the maintenance shack next to the dog park. The chickens must be used to being feed and they stay along the fence line of the dog park driving the dogs crazy.

Good place to bring your kids most of the time. I usually see some people with electric RC sailboats sailing on the lake which is really cool. And it is a good Park that honors veterans. They have a really cool F-16 fighter jet on display really cool

Great park for the kids and family. Shelters are big and clean and they have a bathroom for his and her . Good for fishing. They have a dock .Caught a big tilapia here.

Awesome place for kids and parties

This park is always kept so nice. The only thing you need to worry about at this park is the ducks and squirrels are used to people feeding them. They arent afraid of humans at all. The squirrels will come right up to your plate and take food off of it. The ducks arent quite as bad, but they know if there are people there, they are probably going to get fed. The other thing is the lake. There are several places where your young children can get into the water very easily without you noticing them. There are places where there are hills and if a small child goes down that hill by themselves you will loose sight of them. Most of the things are just common sense, but just be aware. The city of Pinellas Park keeps this park in excellent condition, from the tables to the drinking fountains, to the playground for the kids and the restrooms. If you are thinking of picnicking over a holiday, you want to send someone to the park early to get the pavilion you would like to use. Ive always had very good success being able to get the space needed for a get - together without a problem. I have never driven through this park and found noone there. There is always someone using the park facilities, including the fitness equipment and the trails.

You have some strange people coming there they give you dirty looks

I love the playground here very much! Taking a star away because there is no fence that separates the playground from the lake, which is super dangerous. Keep an eye on the kiddos and have a good time!

Great little park, running/walking trail around both lakes, plenty of restrooms. Tends to be shady activity going on in the back corner. Going to ask PP police about checking it out more often

Fun park with nice views and has a dog park!

Nice large area for dogs to play in together, a more than decent amount of exercise equipment to use (all for free), large circles to walk or jog around while enjoying the view of the pond, or just benches to sit on and feed the turtles and/or ducks! And if you get too hot, you can cool yourself off w/ the hose (Ive had to do that a time or two, lol, as well as w/ the water fountains which they have plenty of all around the park)! Oh, I believe they even have remote controlled boat races some Saturdays! Older men usually participate in this, while the young children can play on the playground! This is literally a park for the entire family, all ages! Also, that jet they have on display in the front of the park - come on, thats just freaking cool!

Medium size park with a very nice playground for the kids, a workout area for all ages, a track around both lakes. Also a few docks for nature watching, and a dock for launching remote controlled sail boats.

Always loved this park. Well maintained. Has an awesome covered workout area, a cute little trail that goes around the lake, and a clean gated dog park. Great for picnics with the family.

This is a large park with two lakes and many pavilions. One pavilion has a playground for younger kids and theres a separate set of swings in the shade of many trees when you first enter. Theres a nice track around the main lake where I learned to ride my bike many years ago. I now bring my kids here and we love it.

Theres been a lot of improvements. Still a great place to bring the little monsters. And the dog park is active as usual.

Decent but not as clean as it should be. Wide open spaces are abundant but the dog park was littered.

This is a beautiful park. They have a fantastic dog park section with an agility course, the bathrooms are always clean, the kids playground has new equipment and plenty of shade, and sometimes all these old guys show up to race tiny little sailboats. Its the cutest thing. They also have a beautiful walking trail that goes around the lake. Great place.

Great park clean and beautiful but as of last year i will not go there why ..because the city has maid it so that homeless people cant stay just for a few hours to rest in there cars i know because my husband and my sep son was homeless and had no place to go and not only him but many others as well

My first time going I took my kida and they had a blast out there nice scenery great shade would go back again.

Great Park The little monsters need to go outside! Off and on there will be homeless people there, never had an issue. Free book donations, outside gym... seems like a lot groups meet up for classes there.

A hidden entrance leads to a small winding park surrounding a man mafe lake. With clean facilities a playground gym equipment and 2 floating docks it is a beautiful way to spend a beautiful day.

It was a nice place. Went for a birthday party. Had access to everything.

Great park! Great for kids has three playground areas. Good for fishing 3 piers. 4 picnic gazebos. Restroom facilities easily accessible. One downside on weekdays bums and other undesirables congregate at the picnic gazebos making the park dangerous for mothers and their children.

Not many, if any no smoking signs. If you want to enjoy fresh air at an outdoor park do NOT come here. Trashy people smoking by the playground, by the lake, by the memorial, at the pavillions. Nasty trash.

Great place for all and your four legged family too

We take our dogs for walks around each pond/small lake. We see many beautiful birds. Weve been going for a few years now - we have never seen homeless people there. Its a great family place with covered pavilions and grills. We love it!!
