Before Covid, this was a great bar to go to. Now, it lacks the previous atmosphere. They have tables out front so you can order drinks. However, there is no umbrellas so it gets extremely hot. It felt like we were burning. The kitchen was closed when we went on a Sunday afternoon. We got three cocktails and a beer. The beer was warm and the cocktails did not taste great. They have happy hour on a Sunday and cocktails were half priced which was a benefit. Looking forward to returning once they can open inside.

If I could give this zero stars I would. I waited for a table and was told we would get the next table available. Another party snatched our table and the staff was extremely unhelpful. They didn’t give us the table as promised. When we finally sat down they lasted about 25min to even give us menus. I had to walk inside to get the menus myself. Service was extremely poor, very non-attentive, no sign of interest in customers to get waited and when requested the guys who was handling things just waived us off. And the drinks are terrible they taste like juice. Do not come here. Spend your money and time better elsewhere

It’s a old western decor with a modern twist. The prices are decent and the staff semi friendly. Had a good time for a 90s bar crawl that I went on.

Good place to go for a date or a night out with friends or family. When the weather is nice you have the option to dine outside or inside. They offer a good variety of finger foods. The drinks are reasonably priced. Their prices are comparable with all the other establishments in that area.

They would not let me speak to anyone in charge and lied to us about the bill per table. The waitress took our food to the wronged table. I would never go here again.

This is such a wonderful place to eat and relax. The wait staff are so friendly and the atmosphere is very laid back. Very clean and with just the right amount of lighting (not too dim for my 60 year old eyes and definitely not too bright).We had docked at Penns Landing and walked about a third of a mile because we wanted to go to the observation deck. But on the way we, once again, stopped at JJ Bootleggers. Why, the roast beef sandwiches, thats why!Juicy and yes you can get more gravy on the side; and oh did I tell you they were juicy and delicious. Just great food and a nice atmosphere. Oh and guess what, very reasonable pricing. Surprising for center city but wow, we all (4 of us) ate our fill for less than $60. So take that savings and tip well, they deserve it.

We were four couples but they gave us one check and refused to give us separate checks for each couple even when we had specified we wanted separate checks.

Good place to grab a quick bite to eat. They have a projector behind the bar. It would be a great place to watch a sports game. I got the fries. They were really good and only $9. The service was really fast and everyone was really nice.

Went here for lunch one day since I was always passing by on my way to work. The lightning lunch special has a decent selection of things that you can get for the $9. Each thing comes with fries and a drink. Server recommended the chicken tacos and I was very impressed with the quality of the food used. Everything tasted fresh and the Chipotle mayo was really good! Definitely recommend coming here if you have a half hour or so for lunch!

Came here recently like a group of around 10+. All in all, its a decent place to grab drinks but their cocktail list was all over the place and the bar seemed understaffed. Drinks list varied from weird mixtures of beer and hard liquor to overly sweet cocktails. Its a good place to stop on a night out but know what youre getting into.

There lightning lunch is exactly that. The food comes very quickly and its good. Nice array of drinks and fair pricing for the area.

Going to this bar was a bit of a last resort. We went in and found a table and sat down. It was a really busy Saturday night so I was happy to find a table. After about 7 minutes of waiting and checking on the menu, I believe a head waiter came by and asked if we were being helped. We told him no and he went to go get a server for us. 10 minutes passed and nobody came.We then went to a bar and got 2 Moonshine Mojitos which were good. Afterwards we sat at a different table and a server came to us and took care of us. The service was overall ok but it was a packed night so I understand they had a lot going on. After we got a server to help us, the rest of the night went ok.AMBIANCE: The theme of the bar is pretty cool, moonshine themed. I liked that they had an extensive drink menu featuring moonshine in all the drinks. I also like the different games they had available at certain tables. That was a fun thing to add to the bar. The DJ was playing decent music for me. He was playing to the crowd but it really wasn’t my kind of crowd to begin with.FOOD: I had the sweet BBQ wings (I forgot the actual name) but they were ok. The meat wasn’t really seasoned, it was just plain wings tossed in a sauce. The sauce was good but I wish the chicken itself was seasoned too.DRINKS: The Moomshine Mojitos were ok. I had 2 total, I would like to try their other drinks.

Stopped by today. This is a fantastic brunch spot in old city. They had a buffet and bottomless drinks. Unlimited Mimosas, bloody Mary’s and Bellinis for only $20

Nice place. A friend won a Happy Hour. The food was good and there was a variety of drinks. I would go back. Loved the Sauteed Brussel sprouts, yummy. The Pigeon Forge Punch with moonshine peaches and cranberry juice was a hit for me.

What a great place! It was our 16th anniversary and we were fortunate enough to be introduced to JJ Bootleggers from our Grim Philly haunted pub crawl tour guide. The atmosphere is fantastic. Great fun vibe with all ages here. We enjoyed great moonshine cocktails and had delicious food too. Try the cheese steak egg rolls--they are phonomenal-and try the moonshine wings. These are the best wings weve ever had and quite honestly if we lived closer I would go back often. There were also games and karaoke with a great sound system. The staff is very attentive and so friendly. I think weve discovered pur new hangout when we get into town. Please visit, eat and drink-you will not be disappointed.

Love this place!! Our first time here was an awesome experience with a simple round of delicious drinks and a shareable stuffed Bloody Mary. We found ourselves surrounded by great staff and a fun croud. Bumped into the owner and his wife who were warm, sociable and just gave off the best vibe! Definitely will return!! Perhaps for brunch next time.

I love the corn and coke it will get you plastered though cus you cant taste the booze. Cool astetic too.

Id been introduced to this bar during a haunted bar tour that ended here (no this place is not haunted.) I was ecstatic because I LOVE Ole Smokeys and have been stocking it at home for the last few years. Was excited to bring a visiting friend here... what a mistake. Our service was terrible. The waitress ignors us as much as she could, and kept leaving things off our orders... sauces were missing from dishes and garnishes from drinks. And when we requested them, she took forever to remedy the situations with a huffy were really putting her out attitude. We were there during the day, which may have been part of the problem, but I cant imagine it being any better when its busier at night (when I had been there with the tour, they were out of all the decent flavors of moonshine already, so that wasnt great either.) Sorry we werent cool cute boys likely to give big tips to your hotness: yes, your tip went the other direction due to your service.

This place is a very grown and sexy upscale bowling alley. The drinks were just ok. There were more with gin in it which is not my thing. The music sucked. It was more 60s/70s style music. It was a Saturday night so I was expecting a little better. This spot is good for a professional event or date night. Valet parking is a plus.

Really fun place. Many moonshine themed drinks and shots. Really good dance music. The atmosphere is great and it has plenty of space for dancing, talking or sitting. The bartenders were fast and efficient but not too talkative. I would definitely come back and check out other theme nights and specials.

This is one of my favorite spots in Old City. Not only is the bar scene great but the brunch does not disappoint. 20$ for bottomless mimosas is steal and the servers make sure to stay on top of it!

Got the pepper jack cheese burger with a MOUNTAIN of cheese. Instead got I thin layer of cheese, no napkins on the table, slow service while empty inside. But the burger was good and buffalo Mac great.

Place is understaffed. Tried going to the bar which was empty, however, some obnoxious couple with young children nearby were causing quite the nuisance.Left, not going to waste money at some a crappy place when there are plenty of options nearby. This ridiculous couple sat in booth near the bar and their kids kept jumping off the stairs running around jumping - ridiculous. Staff did nothing and barely any staff available - it was good the bartender was MIA so that we didnt waste money ordering drinks here.

Not as good as I remembered. Had the lightning lunch which is $9 for a burger, fries, and soda . Not a bad deal except the burger is a slider ( which I dont remember being like that previously) My wife had the same thing her buger was horrible. The food was absolutely fantastic, but the service was horrible. One person at the table got her cheese steak before anything else came out...including appetizers. Another one had to ask about his burger because were pretty sure the waitress forgot it. Not entity the waitresss fault though as the place seemed really understaffed for a Saturday.

Waited over an hour after ordering our food and it never ended up coming, waitress only came to check on us once during this time, and finally when we decided to leave we were completely ignored after asking for a check to pay for what few drinks we actually got. Its worth mentioning that throughout all of this time about half of their seats were open so its not even as if it was that busy.

We love JJ Bootleggers. The atmosphere is fun and service is great! The restaurant is very spacious and clean. Go see Nicole at the bar and try the moonshine specialty cocktails- they are awesome! Would highly recommend Bootleggers for group events, dinner, or even just a night out.

Waited over over 45 minutes and got 0 service. People that arrived well after me had orders taken instantly. Flat out ignored by wait staff.

Place seems to have a problem with destroying drivers licenses on multiple occasions. Its not as of people need them to travel on a daily basis... This place could use some basic training to distinguish between real and fake licenses.

Several visits to this bar based on my friends liking it. We always seem to get moved around when we are here. One time, we were mistaken for a tour group but we caught them flat and it became a crowded mess. Another time, we were seated, served, and hustled to move away from our tables because we were in the DJ area. Dont seat a group of 10 in an area you will need soon. We helped the DJ move tables and our stuff so he could setup. Good guy.

This bar specializes in Moonshine. Its a one-of-a-kind bar in the city, since its the only bar that does. In addition to being able to order many flavors of moonshine, they also have various mixed drinks which they make with the moonshine. They also serve food.

I dont know why theyre not more busy for lunch. They offer a $9 lunch special that includes soda and choice of a few different entrees. The portions are smaller but still very worth the price, and the quality is high. I especially like the fried chicken sandwich, which is breaded and fried in house, not frozen. The fondue-style sauce on the cheesesteaks is also delicious. Not trying to compete with the sandwich places on the next block for authenticity, they are their own thing.

Drinks are awful. Blueberry mule is basically water, coloring agents and a drop of MOONSHINE. Looks loke Koolaid. Service is ok but the bar game is really weak. Try it if youre already extremely drunk and have lost your standards.

I treated myself to lunch here and thoroughly enjoyed it. My server Alex was very pleasant and accomodating. The atmosphere was everything i thought it would be. Love the wood and the lighting is perfect, whether u want to spend time alone or in the company of someone else. Absolute hidden jewel in Old City.

Hadnt been in since last year during football season. Even though my experience last time wasnt bad this was much better. Food was really good I had the wings and the shrimp tacos. The bartender named Eric was very friendly and made sure I was good with food and drink even though he had to serve some tables as well. Definitely will be returning.

I called last minute for large party of 17, the manager Mark was awesome and was able accommodate us with only a days notice. Our waitress Tori was amazing as well the food was awesome. We had a great time and the food delicious.

Had my 1st visit here after working out! Have to say my friends werent lying about how nice it is. Eric the bartender was awesome, great personality, and made sure you the customers were taken care of. Think I found my new home!

The food was good and the waitress was very nice,. However we were a party of 8 (literally the only customers in the place) and it took more than 45 minutes for our orders to come out. When they did they came out one by one, one order was wrong and had to be redone. Another item was wrong and was exactly what the person asked for it not to be (she was very allergic). The order that was completely redone was out before one persons order; he ended up just getting it to go.Overall the food was very good, the waitress was very nice, but that turned into a 90 minute lunch filled with miscues.

We went on the day of Bar Crawl Nation and honestly this place had the best atmosphere of all the bars. It was lively but in a good way and everyone had a good time. They have a wide selection of drinks and games for the tables to play at while they drink and eat. There was a group having a bachelor party dressed in different video game character costumes. It was an awesome time.
