Great location for quality american food. Super savory. I look forward to a return trip. This place has a cool feel to it.
Excellent spot for quality american food. one of the best spots of its kind in the area. the place has a cool atmosphere. i can see why they have so many reviews.
Good spot for quality American food. I love this place so much. Service is typically good.
American food and the feeling here is excellent. i love snacking here. bring your appetite because portions are large.
My preferred spot for quality american food. I like it here, excellent food & service. Had a friend come into town and she asked me to take her here again. Bring your appetite because portions are filling.
Absolutely love this place the bar is chill and relaxed. The food was good and cocktails were delicious and prices were great as well. What made the experience better was the service by our bartender Fallon. A+ service very attentive, friendly and good conversation. I will definitely be back for more group outings with my friends.
Great friendly staff and atmosphere. Reasonable drinks prices. Very entertaining singing and dancing burlesque show. Loved it! Will go again for sure!
Really great food, cool interior design, and great shows at least 2-3 nights a week. If you get a chance, you should definitely check out any of the shows hosted by Flirt Vonnegut. Absolutely hilarious and a little something for everyone ;)
It was first time visiting, and I attended a comedy open mic. I ordered wings which Fried hard (perfect) and a Shirley temple. The staff was nice. I would definitely go again.
Came here b/c it was close to my hotel & the menu inviting for 10 pm. We walked into a full blown club, had to order at the bar. Their food is thoughtful, but I felt robbed w/the $8 for one cheesesteak egg roll. Their bourbon smoked wings, eh...I didnt taste not one bit of bourbon. :(
I was here for an event in fall. Our older guests complained about the stairs, thus the three star rating. If youre having an event maybe inquire about using the first floor if you have guests with mobility issues.
Funky, fun melting pot with a top notch menu. Try the gnocchi. Itll make you happy.
We were very pleased to find this little gem. Good food - we sampled three appetizers for our dinner. Frankies fries with cheese curds and shaved brisket topped with cheese sauce were to die for. Frankies meatballs were very tasty as were the wings with spicy smoked bbq sauce. Local beers and a good atmosphere. We didnt stay for the show upstairs but that is also an option. Our waiter, Sasha was sweet and attentive. We loved it.
This is a very classic rustic bar. The service could have been little bit better. I was there for burlesque show and there was no table service for me although I see people get table service. The only person I gave me super exceptional service was the bouncer. He made sure that I was cool throughout the whole experience. Unless theres another show of interests for me, I will not be returning here. But you should visit. They make very great cocktails and have a respectful beer tap.
I have to give this place 5 stars. The people here were so nice. I didnt get a chance to try the food but it sure looked good! One of the best parts of the evening was I got to see the band St James and the Apostles! What a great experience Ill never forget! Cant wait to visit this place again !
Amazing random find, we were waiting for a reservation at Little Nonnas and popped in here for drinks. The cocktails... There was a savory cocktail with celery and another with a pepper... So dammed good.
American food at this spot - great. arrived at six, it was not packed. the service was very kind and attentive. this place has a nice atmosphere.
Both my companion and I felt it was too loud (both music and diners) and there was nothing special in our meals. Neither if us expect haute cuisine in a bar, but the fish and chips and the chicken parmigiana were just there. The pasta was over cooked and she thought that the lemon slices with the cod probably didnt need to be deep fried as well.
This spot never fails to deliver. They serve great dishes for convenient rates, there are no long waits even when the spot is full.
Falenn is the best bartender ever. Shes such a sweetheart & her drinks were awesome
Its a bar. I was attending an event upstairs. The bar tender was THE BEST. Its a decent sized event space for small events.I thought they had more vegan options, but they didnt. The cook was nice enough to make something for us, the vegan audience so it worked out.
Worked with us to seat a large group with no reservation. Quick service. Decent alcohol list.
Friendly and efficient drink staff. Good cross section of people. Didnt have any food but the apps did look good
Terrible. We had a reservation. The food was lousy and service was so slow 2 people in our party had to leave before our dinner order was even taken. It should not take an hour to get appetizers and drinks and then beg to have them take our dinner order. Bye the way...our drinks were never refilled. Its an ok bar but definitely not a restaurant.
Low key and easy to have a conversation in. Good prices.
Great food in the middle of Outfest when volume could have caused the service to suffer. Well done!
We got here early and it was nice and semi quiet. After 12 this place gets packed!! I love crowds so it didnt bother me but it can make hard for conversation.
Very hip, very cool, very kitchy! Great staff, pretty chill customers, loads of Beverage choices, and some really great food. Good place to go if you just want to drink alone, or if youre with a few people. And theres a terrific event space upstairs. Everything youd want in a place to hang out!
Cool vibe, just wish the stairs to go up were not so steep!!
Good wings complement great comedy very well.
Great place. Fast service.
A bit off the beaten-path . . . both in terms of its location, and its ambiance. A cross between your classic dive bar and hipster joint, with the main bar at the street level, and then a second one upstairs that is available for private parties. We went to an event there that had a cash bar, but the muchy food was part of the deal. They offered hummus with fresh pita bread, olives, salsa and chips, flat bread, and cut fresh veggies with green goddess dressing... all good. If you go there, check out the eclectic artwork on the walls.
Great chill bar atmosphere downstairs, upstairs theres a great dance floor.
Had a wonderful time hosting Dreamland a benefit drag and burlesque show!
Took my wife and son there last week after a show at the Forrest Theater. Its about a 3 minute walk, so close and convenient. I must say, from the pics i saw, i thought it was mostly a bar, and maybe it is, but the restaurant area was quaint and nice. We were quite comfortable. The menu was interesting and had several things we were all interested in trying. I had the Buffalo Brussel sprouts (sounds strange, but delicious) and one of those non-meat burgers that are getting so popular - all very good. My son got the pan seared fillet (slices of filet cooked individually) and he said he was very pleased. And my wife had the chicken parm - again, very good. Bottom line: id definitely recommend this place. Not saying its fancy, its not. But its good food at reasonable prices. Oh, and the service was quite good too - very friendly. All-in-all, a very good stop.
It’s weird and that’s what makes it one of the best bars in philly! The drinks are good and not watered down. The upstairs venue is great for smaller shows. It stands out from the other bars in the city.
Great bar with good music
Interesting bar right in Center City. Reasonable prices and away from any crowds.
Decent menu, beer selection and prices. They also host a lot of unusual events.definitely will check out more.
Delish chick parm sandwich and fresh fries.
Great, kitschy vibe - it has an elevated dive bar feel. The staff and setting are comfortable and not at all fussy, yet the menu items have a sophisticated edge to them. Went for hh and appreciated the great drink and food specials. Looking forward to going back again soon!
The staff are extremely friendly and the food is great.
Nice sized bar with a great selection of food. The atmosphere is very artsy. The bartender working while I was there was bubbly and nice to talk to. Has a very hometown/dive bar feel.Edit: Went back and tried the food and a few different cocktails. Food tastes amazing, although I think some appetizers are a bit pricey. The cocktails were way different than anything I’ve had before.
Good place! Loved the franky fries. The decor of the place was different, but the atmosphere had good vibes. Totally try this place atleast once!
Great spot if you like to dance
I have a weekly happy hour and many events there on Tuesdays. There staff has always been amazing and their happy hour specials are fantastic.
Amazing old Philly restaurant and club made new again
Cozy spot with eclectic decor. They have a big variety of drinks to choose from.Mussels marinara with spaghetti was delicious. The pasta portion was perfect, and they did not skimp on the mussels. I would definitely come again! The bathroom was very clean.
Such a cool vibe and good friendly service.
Kinda hipster. Foods ok, but the atmosphere.... Its definitely a worthy trip
Great hole in the wall bar. Great burger and service.
One of my favorite places to dance. Untill it gets overwhelmingly packed...
Very eclectic clientele, welcoming staff. Seems like a safe space for lgbtq individuals.
Went there to see a friend perform. The place seems nice. I only got a couple of drinks. The bartender seen the new and not sure what she was doing. But service was fine. A cozy place to take a first date I think.
I dined here got home just to find my card charged 50 dollars extra after leaving the waiter a generous tip!!! This pple are thieves
Great food, nice atmosphere
This used to be ‘Sisters ‘. RIP. Long before that it was Franky Bradley’s with different owners. It has been resurrected with its older namesake, but has far surpassed any previous incarnations. The concept is retro. As always with Mark Bee’s places, the food is given the utmost respect. These gentlemen take cleanliness seriously. The service is great, the drinks are too. They have live music. The value for money is high. Go here to chill and have a relaxing time.
Great food and great atmosphere. Lots of good beers on tap.
Very fun, saw a show upstairs on a Wednesday
Great environment, great food the Frankies fries are awesome, and considering its Center City the prices are reasonable. They have shows upstairs on a regular basis, so check ahead to see whats going on and if you need tickets, the bar on the main floor is always open. The only disappointing thing is that they dont recycle, everything goes into one can and considering its a bar and how many bottles and cans they go through I would think they would recycle; after all we only have one planet and those glass bottles could easily be reused.
Sport bar with a cozy and small dinning area. Very nice staff. I had a reservation for dinner so I didnt have to wait in the long line luckily. Their appetizers were delicious. The design of the bar and the dinning area was kinda classic and nice. Great ambience thu not the best place for having a quiet dinner esp on weekend nights.
American gothic hidden gem... Eat the smoked wings and drink the doberman
Sae #ClanAnn here!!! Great Show!!! Great Food!!! GREAT PLACE!!!
One of my favorite bars in the city! Used to be a lesbian bar called Sisters but new ownership has changed it slightly and it serves a slightly larger audience now. Its still definitely a Queer friendly Bar that does a lot for the LGBTQIA community. On any given night you can come here and see a drag show, a performance piece, or some other community event in a wonderful and accepting setting filled with great people, great drinks and great food.
Great food, incredible happy hour prices, a must if youre in Philly.
Great layout to see music. Old school looking vibe, Good Times indeed
Really fun, awesome staff. Good drinks.Really like the double floor option. Nice chill bar downstairs dancing upstairs. Best of both worlds
The bouncers after the change In management are very incompetent at doing their job. My mates and I came from London with British IDs and they rejected us continuously for one hour until the police were able to corrobarate our information.
Our server Ryan was fantastic, family outing before the show, food was great! So cute, close to the venue, Super night.
What a cool spot. Dance club upstairs, food and a bar downstairs. The food and drinks are very good, and the service is great!
I’ve gone here about 5 times. There is usually a huge line outside which moves awfully slow. Once you get inside it’s extremely packed to the point where you can’t move. The bartenders all seemed annoyed by everyone so the service wasn’t that great. I have gone just to eat and it was more of a dive bar feel which isn’t really my thing.
Good food. I liked the kitschy decor as well
Very unique interior decor. wings, burgers, and mussels are really good
A top place for American food.
Impolite and unwelcoming bouncer. He just supposed by looking at me that I was under 21. Then when I showed him my ID, he wouldnt believe it was valid... Ive never felt so unwelcome anywhere else. This bouncer should be sued.
The retro decor is great. Always good food and service. Tommy George the bartender rocks!
Decent beer selection and interesting decor in the ground floor. Upstairs is a musty college bar
This place is a must-see place in Philadelphia the talent in art that I seen at this place was amazing not including the fact that they have vegan food that is out of this world they also have burlesque shows that are very entertaining self-empowering and damn right funny as s***
Friendly staff, generous pours, interesting artwork, good for conversation.
Solid menu. Well prepared. Tasty cocktails. Friendly staff. Funky decor
Atmosphere, staff, good parking.
The beet salad was surprisingly good and super fresh.
I was snooping around Philly on a Sunday night and happened to find this little gem. Had a strong drink, ate some delicious food and watched a show they were having upstairs. Later I shimmied downstairs where the music was my flavor. Good looking people, great staff and friendly vibe. I had such a good time so Im giving this place 5 kisses! Like Arnold said....Ill be back!
Dark, but pleasant atmosphere. The bartender was very nice, and the service was prompt.I got the Frankys Cheese Fries and they were delicious!
Great venue with great events. I truly recommend attending burlesque events. Also the food is pretty good for a bar. The loaded potatoes are absolutely a must.
