If I could give 0 stars, I would. Being a server myself, I have never gone anywhere and not tipped. That changed last night. I had reservations for 7:15 just to eat. When we arrived, there was so much chaos by the hostess stand, they didn’t even properly greet us because they thought we were with another party. Our ID’s got checked, which is understandable. However, the “security guard” gave us a cocky speech on how we cannot leave our seats unless we are going to the bathroom or leaving. I told him we were just there to eat and they we weren’t drinking. He said “I’m just doing my job. Remain seated. Do not leave the tables with your drinks”. We were debating on leaving but we gave it a try anyway. We got seated next to the bar, and the bartender greeted us, grabbed us two waters and a coke. The water had a terrible taste to it, couldn’t even drink it. And they coke was watered down. When I told the bartender about the coke, he said “oh really?”, walked away.. looked to see if the coke needed to be refilled, and that was it. Didn’t grab us a new one, didn’t ask if we wanted something else, and it was on the check. We ordered a burger that came with fries and the chili nachos with chicken. The burger was OK, but the lettuce on it was brown. The fries were soggy. The nachos had potential if the toppings were spread evenly. Everything was in one spot with a HUGE glob of sour cream in the middle. Some of the chips were stale. I was able to see behind the bar from my seat, and it was FILTHY. At that point I felt disgusted. I can’t imagine how dirty and unsanitary the kitchen must be. I could keep going but I hope you get the point. I guess this one star rating could go for the waitress who asked if we were OK.DO NOT BE LIKE ME AND WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!!

Used to love this place!! View is amazing. Service was horrendous! Wasn’t even busy and we ordered food and drinks and we thought they would appreciate the service. Michael M was our server and in my 36 years, the worst! Never checked on us, kicked us out of our table bc of the “law”. Another server helped us with our drinks. And he added a gratuity and we were a party of 3!! It takes a lot for me to write a review. This is my first.

The staff at Cavanaughs River Deck were Amazing. My nieces bridal shower got cancelled for inside dining due to Covid 19 and the wonderful staff at Cavanaughs not only accommodated our party on very short notice but did an amazing job. The venue was perfect and the food was delicious. All my guests could not stop talking about what a great time they had there. If you need to plan a great party, call Jenna … she is super helpful and thorough. Thanks again for turning what could have been a very disappointing day into a great one!

I came here during the day time for an event. They were well organized for the flow of people, and was quite prepared for rain. Large selection of drinks, about 5 different bars so plenty of room to find a seat if one bar is full. Good portion for food.

They have excellent food, incredibly kind staff, and a great location. Their menu appears to not have much variety at first, but the flavorful options they do have more than make up for that. They are also careful about observing social distancing during these difficult times.

I was very disappointed with the customer service at this establishment. My party waited 20 minutes before being greeted by a waitress. No water, no “I’ll be right with you guys” nothing. Multiple times I attempted to create eye-contact to speak with a waitress. After 20 minutes, a waitress came over, she did not introduce herself, so I am not sure of her name. We were informed that the beverage menu was online so we weren’t even able to order a drink. I placed an order and was asked to provide a card for my tab. Another 20 minutes went by and still no one came over to check on us, not even to ask what we were drinking. I informed the bartender that I wanted to cancel my order, I waited 10 minutes for my order to be cancelled and to receive my card back. I understand that there are multiple new CDC regulations in order to conduct business. But the service was slow and unprofessional. They do not deserve the star that google forced me to put.

So Im essential personal. Finished working at the hospital in Philly and thought I would come here for the first time and unfortunately I guess they were too full for one single person. I wish I could say the same thing at the hospital. I only learned that you guys dont serve essential personal. Im sorry to hear that you dont.

I reserve three tables for my daughter ‘s 31st. Birthday dinner kitchen was severely shortstaffed food was an hour to an hour and a half late did not come out together it was also cold had to continue to send it back to heated up drink orders all mixed up -waitresses were burned out from being short staffed. I Would never recommend this restaurant we Reservation at tables from 6 to 8 and some of our food and drinks still had not been servers. We complained and got something taken off our bill but it was not nearly enough for the horrible experience we received . Then security and waitresses said we had to leave because the table was reserved for the next customers at 8:15 to 1015 - then apologize fir having to Rush us please don’t go here.

Staff made my group of 8 feel super uncomfortable and accused us of cursing and harassing the staff. Staff was super unprofessional and made us feel so unwelcomed that we left immediately after receiving our food. I will never visit this establishment again after being treated so poorly and accused of things we did not do.

This my first visit to the River Deck!! The social distancing was OK for a moment!! The TV’s are to small!! Suggestion, Upgrade!! My food was alright, but had to reorder my fries because they came out cold!! But it was handled professionally!!The real complaint was that a guest in my party bought a 32 oz bucket, that cost $20! Upon leaving, we was stopped that she couldn’t keep the empty bucket!!! It cost her $20 and it was plastic!! Security informed us that the are reusable!! . That is so unsanitary to even think about reusing!!! It didn’t cost $20 to make the bucket!! A souvenir to introduce more clients about her experience and yet she was denied by the rent a security!! Ya’ll need to fix those issues because I don’t want to have to go higher up for those changes!! Possibly having ya’ll shut down for unsanitary usage of drink containers!!!

Made a reservation for a party of 12 for a birthday and made us sit at opposite sides of the resturant. Hostest was rude and sarcastic with us when asked if we could switch tables. Never coming here again.

My friends and I were treated horribly here. They charged us 70 dollars more than we were supposed to be. When we mentioned the wrong number, they were extremely rude and told us that we were wrong. Argued with us for over an hour. All of the food was cold and nobody checked on us one time. We had to go up to the bar. It was unpleasant and you should look into new staff.

I enjoyed myself here. I came here on a Sunday night and it was crazy! The drinks were good and the atmosphere was wild but good.

We have been waiting at the table for 45 minutes and no one will serve us. We asked for service and they denied us saying that they are really busy. If you are busy please dont waste people’s time by seating them. Unless this is a free meal and drinks please do not expect people dont have anything better with their time.

I went here yesterday and may I say it was the most worst experience ever the staff was sooooo disrespectful and not helpful at all we only seen our waitress 2 times the whole time we were there the food was disgusting and the drinks were watered down we asked to speak to a manager but he didn’t not help at all may I also put in that the waitress had a smart mouth and when we was ready to make a payment she snatched from us I highly dont recommend this place at all so very disappointed I will never be visiting here again

My first visit. Its a great place. The food and beverages was awesome. Some of the staff was pleasant. My only gripe was I was attacked using the facilities and the security treated me so unfairly. I guess I wasnt suppose to defend myself. Other than that awesome time.

Used to love coming on Sunday nights... The DJ tonight literally played the songs for about 15 seconds max and then changed the song or started talking! Please dont be the hype man every 20 seconds we came to listen to the music and vibe not hear him scream over the music! Please hire a different DJ -thanks the people

I would not recommend this establishment as I had friends visiting from a different country and they were turned away because they required a passport to enter. Ive never heard of this requirement before and my friends felt very discriminated against. I hope they improve polices that are more inclusive to those who are patrons from both near and far...

Definitely the place to go to DANCE! Dj awesome, great mix of music. Floor was packed by 12ish. Sitting is very limited outside not sure about anywhere else. Really great time for daughters birthday! You can get a 3 hr package deal with specials for birthday girl/guy minimum of 10 people. Drinks are good normal for bar. Didnt try any food. Every body was friendly.

I would not recommend this place for anybody who is from a foreign country. I came in with a valid US government-issued ID and they turned me away because they dont accept my VALID US ID. Like if my ID is not issued by the government then yes I understand and thats my fault, but I legit follow the rule and I am here legally so I felt extremely discriminated against.

I have been going to Island Vibes here Sunday nights for about 5 years now! I enjoy the different types of music especially the afro beats! Afro beats makes my life complete and Sunday nights never fails to deliver! The location along the Ben Franklin Bridge gives the outdoors such a vibe! Love this place! I was just there for the classic Labor Day Sunday in which Im in there by 9pm and out by 12am because this place is sooo packed. I leave sweaty from dancing from the moment I enter until I shake by groove thing off the dance floor!

Paid a $10 cover and they have a $10 minimum for cards. If you don’t show up without cash you’re essentially screwed. The place is a knock-off Morgan’s pier and wish they were as fine as of an establishment but clearly never will be. Overpriced, overrated, and an absolute waste of one’s time. I would have had more fun visiting the gravestone of my dear Yia-Yia then at this bar.

The location is great along the river, depending when you go expect to see various crowds. Can get super busy during the summer as there are usually other events in surrounding vicinity.

Pretty location and decent workers but ghetto and unsafe people make up the crowd of people who attend. I was there last night and had my phone STOLEN out of my hand. A group of men walked between my friends and I to get by and bumped into me. I thought I dropped my phone and we all start looking around and turning flashlights on and asking anyone around to help look. I tried to tell one bouncer who was a complete jerk and told me they arent responsible for any lost or stolen items so keep that in mind if you go. Then another bouncer felt sorry for me and tried to help but the phone was long gone. We tried using find my iPhone but the phone was already turned offline. Really nice place and has potential to be fun but be safe and cautious of your surroundings if you ever decide to go.

The dj told me at 1 am that why did my gf come at 1 am to recommend a song.. so I unprofessional for a LA club owner.. shame on your employees. Hire some new ones for new money that’ll actually care about your company !

Sunday’s Caribbean night, great crowds especially during the summer.

I would give it 0 if I could. The professional clown at the door told my friends he wouldn’t let two members in our party in because they had a fake ID, didn’t know my address or was getting mouthy. None of the above was true, everyone in the party was 24+years old and are all graduate students who know how to conduct themselves. The man at the door/gate/fence whatever you want to call it wouldn’t even look at the ID of these meme era and said “you’re not getting in.” This place took everyone’s entry fee and then everyone ended up having to leave without getting any drinks due to this “professionals” conduct.

This is my favorite place to go in the summer. Sunday nights (Caribbean Night) are the best. Good music and strong drinks. Perfect combination for a good time. Saturdays are ok. Its more of a mixed crowd, which means the DJ caters more to the majority. But still able to have a great time

Loved it! Great outdoor spot right on the Delaware River just north of the Ben Franklin Bridge. Reasonably priced drinks and good food, good music thats not too loud, plenty of space, outdoor smoking on the deck! We went on a Sunday afternoon, but it apparently gets packed for dancing on weekend nights.

Came for the $25 open bar package. all my vodka sodas tasted like watered down club soda even though i watched the bartender pour the “house vodka” into my cup. several drinks later and still wasn’t convinced there was any liquor in it. walked out sober after 3 hours of drinking. bartenders did not have a friendly attitude granted it was raining and not very busy on a saturday night. would not buy the package again. place has potential but was disappointed with my first experience.

I have never been more physically violated in my life - I never even made it inside...they do a very intense bag check and pat down to enter - I totally get it and am on the side of safety...BUT I have a large chest the female bouncer violently squeezed and prodded my breasts (as least 4 times she fully squeezed my chest) she also rubbed my vagina during the pat down. I had ZERO warning that this was going to occur - even the TSA explains everything and says I am going to gently go near a sensitive part now. I generally do not mind being touched and it takes A LOT to offend me/make me feel uncomfortable. We were in town for my friends 30th birthday from NY - a group of 8 married couples (most with kids) - we were not drunk or rowdy at all when entering the bar - it was 11:00 pm and we had NO drugs or weapons on us at all. You need to train your staff to not molest your customers during entry.

Drink prices werent terrible but the music and the people suck. For 2 straight hours(because I got there at midnight) there was no music newer than 2015. 50% chance of getting into a fight outside when you leave too

I took my baby sister here to celebrate her birthday and honestly we had an awesome time until we were leaving. The bouncers were disrespectful and aggressive and unfriendly. I got a cup of ice from the bartender because I wanted some water and I went outside to get a bottle of water for my car and bouncer literally almost knocked me over telling me I couldnt leave with the cup I was like you clearly can see there is nothing in the cup no alcohol, just ice and Im dehydrated from dancing and its really hot I just need to get some water and they refused to let they leave with a cup they were really aggressive and rude and obnoxious and it didnt make any sense. We werent even intoxicated or belligerent or anything and its sad they react that way and Im not quite sure if its because were black and they felt as if they had the authority to be that aggressive. Honestly cant put my finger on it, they actually ruin the night for us.

They have great food there. Great staff and hot chicks.

My most recent visit to this place will surely be my last. Ordered the $20 fishbowl and it was swimming with fruit flies. I know this is an outdoor bar but they obviously dont clean the way they need to. The second drink was very weak, barely any vodka, tasted like $20 kool aid The service is fine here but they need better food and drinks. The hot wings had no flavor. Its a shame they are putting a great location to waste.

Went on a Saturday in July. Even though lots of people were there, it didnt feel uncomfortable because the space is so big. Food was good, liquor drinks were okay, music was good, bathrooms were fine (for men at least). There were about 6 urinals and 3 stalls. I would go back, but only with my friends who like to dance & turn up.

I am almost certain that in this place they have vodka bottles full of water. I have in two occasions gotten drinks that tasted like watery soda even though they put a good amount of “vodka” in them. Everyone in that bar is rude and disrespectful. They are scammers.

I should of known as I was sitting down this was gonna be a bad idea. The couple sitting behind us looked miserable & I soon found out why. They waited almost an hour for there food. They didnt even eat it. Our food came quicker than theres ( just a shade under 50 minutes). It was cold by the time we got it. They only had 1 waitress serving 50 people. Drunk obnoxious kids. Had a small issue with an aggressive bouncer and they did everything to make the situation better. Dave in the mens room always has great advice and creates a positive aura for everyone there

The bouncers are stupid, I showed two of them my ID and they replied You can walk your way out but it was actually my ID LOL. I had to show them my instagram for proof and they ended up checking out my photos. Felt completely violated, not a place worth your time :)

Awesome 10 dollar open bar and buffet on Thursdays with really nice staff who make strong drinks if you are nice to them (which you should be). Their food is super underrated the Mac and cheese is incredible and their wings are really good if you get the cavs sauce. Great music and dancing, never had a bad night and clean bathrooms! 4 stars because on the weekends its super crowded and hard to get served.

The drinks special are awesome especially Sunday night All reggae, soccer and African music. The best spot in Philadelphia so far. Sofia my favorite bar tender.

LOVE this place in the summer!! The music is cool and the drink specials are great! Not to mention how cool it is looking over the Delaware river. When the bathrooms are full, they have porta potties out back! And the club is ALWAYS filled with pretty girls. Cant beat this place on a nice summer night.

Ive been a big fan of the Riverdeck for a LONG time. I can remember going there in college and getting an open bar on the weekends with 30 friends, we used to shut the place down! Now I mostly go to eat and do happy hour over the water. Its one of the citys best views over the water...

I came here for the first time 2wks ago and the place was packed!It was a nice time. The crowd is mixed and so is the music. I came back tonight and they have really good Monday night specials. Have a Cherry Bomb its awesome. Not as packed as a Saturday night, but it is still crowded for a Monday night (July 4th weekend). I gave 4 stars because the DJ mixes to much. Cant really dance to your song when it comes on because as soon as he plays it is as soon as he changes it.

This bar was very exciting...with a few different bars spread throughout the establishment. The mus selection was veey easy to get on the dance floor to.

They really dont need or care for your business but unfortunately if youre looking for raggae this is the only place for it Sunday. If youre looking for atmosphere, the less rowdy Morgans Pier is much more friendlier.

We had a ball! Bar tenders were great, food was good, music was diverse, and the drinks were on point. The view is beautiful and even with a crowd you dont feel confined because its outside. Well be back!

Ashley, the bartender at cavanaughs, is what made our experience here. My boyfriend and I came to celebrate his birthday on a quiet Sunday. She has been attentive and conversational since the moment we arrived. Later we found out there was an event hosted by a radio station. When 50+ people rolled through the door she handled them effortlessly and still kept the conversation rolling with us. We will definitely be returning in hopes of having ashley be our bartender as well as the great riverside atmosphere.

I only go on Sundays for caribbean night. Great music and people.

DO NOT GET the open bar!! You are lied to about the price. Most drinks are still an upcharge. You will only get one plastic cup to drink out of, if you lose it, game over. The bartenders will take your cup from you if you are not looking, evem if the cup is full! They will yell at you for losing your cup. The bartenders did this to me two times, then kicked me out for asking too many questions. Paid $25 for a yeungling and a few sips of too-sugary LI iced tea.Never again, and neither should you.

The bartender gave my indian friends credit card to another indian guy because she couldnt tell them apart. The owner/manager refused to give us the time of day, no one apologized.Also, no white tees or flip flops allowed, so youll be turned away if you dont meet the dress code. I find it funny they dont let people in flip flops enter a place thats literally on the water and sells $1 hot dogs, as if youre bringing the ghetto ass crowd down.

Website advertised $5 cover once I got there it was changed now its $10. $3 for bottled water, un-even flooring throughout,yes I know its a deck... I get it, but inside there is a definite difference from carpet to floor, gaps between but covered with carpet) out house type bathrooms...completely filthy, water from the toliet all over the floor, doors dont lock.One bartender charging one price, another another price. Additionally no parking is definitely a turn off. Staff sucked

It is a nice place I will give them that but the security here is so unprofessional. As a fight broke out amd my home girl was stuck in the middle of it they jacked her up and started throwing her out. She didnt even start the fight or anything. Her purse and phone got missing they would not let her get it and then when our group said something they start throwing us out. I will not ever come back here again and i will post it on my Facebook and since I work in the public eye I will be telling everyone I know not to go to this place.
