I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to the Wyck House. The house dates back to the 17th Century and my visit provided an interesting view of the life and possessions of generations of Wyck House owners. The staff were very informative, gracious and provided an excellent tour of the house and grounds. The gardens are beautiful and there is a lovely vegetable garden. It was a great opportunity to learn more about the history of Philadelphias Germantown neighborhood.
The Wyck house is in Germantown where you would least expect it! The volunteer tour guides are so nice and helpful, and they let you roam through the homestead garden.Visiting this house really got me interested in horticulture; I absolutely love their set up and it inspires me to create something similar one day!
Went for the Philadelphia Honey Festival and got a cool tour of the house. Also tried honey mead and shopped with local vendors that were brought in. Beautiful house and rose gardens, would definitely go back next year.
Unique among the historic houses of Germantown, Wyck is an eclectic mix of the nine or so generations who continuously inhabited the house from the 1600s to the 1970s. The collection offers an extraordinary view into American history as it happened to each successive generation. The rose garden is the oldest continuously operating one in the US, and is not to be missed! It contains species of roses which cannot be found anywhere else.
Wyck House was very interesting. I took my client to check out this beautiful historic home in Germantown. So many interesting facts!!. Very good tour guide as well!
This is A place you will Love to see and enjoy
It is very charming. Go in the spring/summer when the garden is in bloom. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. The grounds are child friendly if you monitor them.
This site is a work in progress. They get 5 stars for effort, but definitely need more funding and support. Historical conservation and interpretation are challenging things and they work really hard. Theyll get there. And I hope they get the extra support they need to make it to 5 stars, because they deserve it.
The Philadelphia Honey Festival is an annual treat. The historic grounds are fascinating.
Great FREE place to explore the past! Has Americas longest continually run rose garden.
Lots of original family items well preserved. Friendly staff.
Philly honey festival was held here this past Saturday. I am a beekeeper guild member, so it was goog to see other members.
Great place to visit and a BEAUTIFUL ROSES.
Forget Williamsburg. Wyck is authentic living history not a reconstruction. And the guides were wonderful!
A treasure in Germantown. Historic, and they do ongoing events and community outreach.

A little oasis of calm and historic charm. Ill be back!
Ive only visited during honey fest, but its amazing to see the history present. Hard to imagine Germantown avenue back when it was first built.
History comes alive at historic Wyck House and Garden in Germantown. The gardens bounty is shared in weekly Farmers Markets and the guided tours are fascinating.
