The Riverview has improved dramatically since our first visit 3 years ago. They have upgraded seats in the theaters plus they do come and clean thoroughly after each screening. Theres a discount at all shows for age 60 yrs+ plus matinee discount. We appreciate the free covered parking lot across the street. If youre into IMAX and 3D movies, they offer a choice. We havent tried the concession stand, but the bathrooms were clean and stocked when we visited.
We went today, December 19, for a schooltrip. The theatre was kind enough to open before business hours, reserve us our own theatre and make every accommodation we could ask for. My favorite part about the day was our concession stand server, Marlene. First thing in the morning, she was polite, punctual and kept our line of 70 students moving right along without missing a beat. She stopped when she new kids orders were getting pricey toMake sure they had enough money and she kept everyone happy and moving. All of the staff today made our trip very special for the kids, but Marlene really did a phenomenal job, especially dealing with a large group of middle school kids first thing in the morning. Thank you Riverview for all of your hospitality!!!! Job very well done
I always enjoyed watching movie here, very comfy seats and great sound system. I just want this pandemic to end soon and I want to go here again.
Showing its age - This movie theaters seats could do with a good steam cleaning. Its an OK theater. Unfortunately, there arent a lot of well-maintained theaters in Philly that are accessible by public transportation. Regal UA should do better by their customers.
The seats are very comfortable. The screen isnt so big you cant see everything thats going on. And the volume was decent. Not so loud it makes it hard to watch. I enjoyed the movie as well. Went to see the newest Star Wars rise of Skywalker. It was pretty good too. The price was a bit high but they all are these days.
So i went to check out the movie “The Photograph” and for the most part everything was okay, until about 1/2 way through the movie me and my girlfriend heard a mouse above us. Yes, you heard correctly, a mouse. And again, you heard correctly, above us. We were in theater 16 in the last row corner seats. And in the walls above our head we heard mice screeching when the movie got quiet. Everyone in the immediate area was laughing but we did not find that funny in any way shape or form. Not only was it really annoying but it posed an immediate concern of our health since we also had purchase food from them. This is something i think Regal should look into immediately because that was NOT okay. Overall the movie was okay, and the arcade area is pretty nice but the mice left a very bad taste in my mouth. Also, they may want to consider changing seating over to leather very soon, the cloth look is not only played out but also poses a potential risk of spread of bed bugs. Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.
The sound system inside the theater is fantastic! Especially the one in the IMAX Studio. If I am not mistaken, I think it is a THX Dolby surround sound system. And not only it has a much more bigger screen, but this theater has also a floor that slopes at a certain degree. The rows of seats are arranged so that each row is about 12 to 15 inches higher than the row in front of you. With this kind of stadium seating, the IMAX rows are arranged on a series of steps or terraces instead of a slope. This design allows you to have an unobstructed view of the screen, even if the theater is hundred percent packed. I happened to have had the very center seats which were about two third up from the screen and had equal number of seats on my right, as well as on my left. The design of how the seats are arranged are the same in the other studios too, but naturally not as good as this bigger theater.
It took the staff 20 minutes to prepare a burger and fries, so I missed the beginning of the movie. Also, the movie was in a different theater than was printed on the ticket. When I went down to ask the ticket taker, she was very nonchalant in saying that they had changed the movie to a different theater. She also did not apologize for not giving us that information in the first place. The entire staff seemed not only disorganized, but did not seem to care about customer service at all.
My go to when I visit Philly. A little pricey but overall good experience. They have an arcade, photo booth, and huge candy dispenser which is always a treat for the little ones. The customer service is always a hit or miss depending on when you go and what type of crowd comes in. The food is okay. Typical movie theater snacks. The big IMAX and 3d theaters are pretty awesome if you want to spend almost 20 bucks per person. Definitely a cool experience though.
When I first moved here I was effy about this place but it has been a pleasant surprise. We always have a nice time. The lines arent too long and its never super packed. It has a lot or lots of street parking
The movie on the screen and the quality of that is nice except for the dirty bathrooms and theaters. At some point I understand for opening night of a movie it can be hectic but that should mean more people to handle issues that arise. Leaving trash in the theater and the bathroom does not make for a positive total experience I came to see the product on the screen but its the second time I felt like things needed to be cleaned up and so I might not be coming back to this theater. And it was my wifes first experience and it was something that she thought was a negative and might influence her to not come back either.
Always neat & clean, no matter what time you go. Personnel are friendly. Comfortable seats. Handicapped parking at front door. Elevator for those who need it. A fun arcade for the kids on the ground level. Plenty of free parking less than a block away.
Allways fun times recommend it to everyone
This is My Home Away from home, Im here every other Day, and if you dont have Your UNLIMITED PASS then You Better Get it. You Can Watch Movies All Day, Everyday if you want. You Cant Beat that PeopleEntertainment in S. Philly.
This is the worst movie theater I have ever seen. I definitely will give them ZERO star if I can! They have a no service and are very rude. My friend and I went there after finished dinner. We just have some leftovers in my friend’s bag and have some soft drink. The ticket collectors stopped us and said we cannot carry any food or drink inside. Okay, we throw the drink out. And then they still don’t allowed us get in and they required us opening our bags and showing to them. And then they said throw out the leftovers or just finished it there. We was throwing everything then was allowed go in. But it’s wasting a long time, the movie was put out a while when we went in.First of all, if they do have the rule that people don’t allowed bring food in, the rule should be showed in somewhere of the theater or be posted near the ticket windows. And we was looking for the rule about food and we didn’t find anything like that in the theater. Do they have the right to stop people and ask them to throw away food without show the rules to them?Secondly, why we cannot watch the movie that we already bought the tickets. And they were wasting time and it made us getting late.Thirdly, do they have the right to open or required us to open our private bags?Do they have the right to threaten us, and if we dont open the bag and we are not allowed to go in. I don’t think so.
Paid for a 9:40pm showing for Spiderman: Far From Home. Movie was in auditorium 11 we all sat in that theater until 10pm after such I went to speak with a manager. After about 10-15 min more we were moved the auditorium 8 which was completely disgusting. It wasnt cleaned prior to the last showing thats unprofessional each room should be cleaned after the viewings.
Loved the food, plus the service was real nice. I also enjoyed the theatres setting layout, chairs not to close to each other, chairs were real comfortable, movie setup was great /plus movie choices were fine. Was a great DAY FOR ME, A BLESSED GIFT/WITH .
The seats at this place are disgusting; stained, ripped and SUPER uncomfortable. This place charges a premium for a less than mediocre experience. There are FAR better theaters in the area for the same price. This place either needs a serious upgrade or to drop prices.
Decent location, and Im sure it depends on which theater number youre in, but the seats were awful. We were in a smaller theater, non reclining seats and the seats near us were obviously broken. The back of the seat dug into my back the entire movie too. Hopefully they can fix up this movie theater soon because I definitely prefer smaller businesses.
The movie theater was a positive experience....I go to this location alot because it has multiple movies available....this particular time we saw The Photograph which was great and I purchased the tickets online which avoided waiting at the box office so we were able to go right in...this theater is also close to the Ruby Buffet which is a great place to dine before or after the movie...
The theatre was neat and clean. The service was impeccable. And the movie was excellent. Cant wait to go again.
#dangerella I went for a matinee 3/10/2020. It’s been a long while since I’ve seen a movie there. I miss when the Riverview plaza was a hot entertainment complex. The movie theatre has an app that you can purchase tickets ahead of time. There are a couple of different viewing options such as IMAX, 3D or standard. The seats are comfortable. Even though I was there for the afternoon, the theatres were clean and also the bathrooms. Most importantly, the staff are very nice too. The movie theatre is conveniently located near other restaurants, Wawa and Walmart. (Other shopping centres nearby.) Very walkable and easy to get in an impulse movie!
It’s a nice theater until I was watching my movie and saw a mice crawling and running in between the chairs and aisles. I won’t be coming back here again.
Has a great variety of food options. Comfortable seating. Well maintained.
This is the worst movie theater Ive ever been to. The environment is poor, the screen is small, and the staff has a bad attitude. I took the drink in my hand and put the food in my bag. The staff asked us to throw the drink away with a bad attitude and check my bag. Who gave you the right to check the guests bag? The staff forced me to throw away the food in my bag. Where is the rule that no food is allowed in the bag? If you make it clear on your website that you cant put food in your bag, or if you make it clear on your ticket that you cant bring food in, then I will cooperate? However, you did not do so. Instead, the staff searched the bag without permission, which seriously affected our time to watch the movie. If a company doesnt care about customer experience, I dont think it will succeed
Service is poor, popcorn is usually stale. I don’t like it when the manager stands around not helping HIS crew at the concession stand. The few young men that work concessions need some discipline and lessons in customer service - or just a respectable/living wage, we should try both! Regardless, I go at least once a month. If you don’t like Hollywood movies, git out of America. Just kidding; try the Ritz, great indy and foreign movies there.
I like that this place is near me. Parking is easy. Lots of screens so they show a variety of movies. Staff is always helpful and pleasant. However the price point is high for old tired seats in comparison to much newer nearby theatres with recliners etc. that often charge a few dollars less for tickets...
I enjoyed watching starwars episode 9 here. I had a great seat during 11am show the staff was more than helpful I highly recommend this place
Im posting this before the movie has even started because of the restrooms. There was no toilet paper in 3 out of the 5 working stalls. It was brought to an employees attention and my second visit 25 minutes later, still no TP! And the one stall didnt have a holder. We will see if the $43 paid for 2 tickets for the RPX experience is worth it!
We took our grandson there lastnite he had a good time.He ENJOYED tbe arcade games before n after the movies. Very reasonable in price
Had a good time..very Clean..good seats..good service at concession stand and the manager was and is wonderful. We missed our movie..she was nice enough to fix it so we could watch the next show time..no stress..thanks so much
Very large theater! The quality is great. The concessions are super pricey but thats the way it goes. Buying tickets is super convenient and the concession staff are super friendly and great at their job! The seats in the theater are quite small but still comfortable. Be prepared to park on the street because the parking lot is handicapped parking only
It needs a whole remodel. I gave it 2 stars because the staff was very nice and I could tell that they tried to keep the theaters clean. But the seats were old and worn out and made you feel icky.
My mother and I went to see Bad Boys for life last weekend at this theater and the theater room was nasty and this is after the guy cleaning it was finished which mint he didnt clean the room. food was still under the seats, the floor was sticky, the seat I was sitting in was broken it was back further than the other seats felt like I was laying back not sitting up. I got a small box of popcorn from the refreshments counter and the popcorn was cold not even warm and the extra butter you get yourself was cold. The tickets both staff was rude I didnt know that they ask you to pick your seat before purchasing a ticket and the tickets salesman was rude had a attitude like we were getting on his nerves. I wont visit this theater again I will either go to the movies at Cherry Hill or Neshamy.
Riverview has everything needed for a day or night of entertainment. There is parking. The movie theater is clean. You can select your seats ahead of time. There is an arcade and concession stand to purchase food and snacks. All of the latest movies can be seen at the Riverview.
A decent place to see a movie if its early in the morning. The staff that works behind the snack counter could be more motivated and have a sense of urgency. Getting popcorn and a soda takes way too long
Big for no reason. Never do they have concession on both levels. Diconvenience to buy food and have to go to another level to watch your movie.
Since the British Company took Over; they Dress Better and the Theater Looks Better as well.
Everything was cool just a bit to cold in the movie theater same temperature outside was the temperature inside smh
Eh, It was something quick but not in my top 5 theaters to go too
Free parking if you park under 95 which is cool. I dont mind this theater. Theyve got a lot of interesting concessions. For instance you can get a pizza for the same price as a small popcorn. So its a bit pricey, but not any different from other theaters to be honest. They host a lot of advanced screenings here which is really the only reason for me to go here. Its just not a convenient spot for me. Warmdaddys next door is a FANTASTIC spot! Definitely check that out before or after your show!
I mean, when you like at this old United Artist theatre -- and I mean, quite old -- the first thing you notice is its very aggressive use of neon. Its to the point where you might feel immediately out of place because you left your ankle warmers at home. Going inside, you wont fare much better really. But instead of a fleeting reminder of the 80s, you suddenly are confronted with flashy, hyper capitalist dystopia. Their menu has forced ads. The cups are ads. The ads have their own recursive ads. Theyre everywhere and you now are surrounded. You may do your best and quickly shuffle into the theatre, hoping for a brief respite. No such luck. Theres more ads waiting for you, this time, in in the insincere form a pre-movie TV show, hosted by a woman that you feel immediate kinship with. She too is tired of all the ads, but a paycheck is a paycheck so she marshals them along as well. Just before you finally think youre making it to the trailers, she (and you by extension), have the unfortunate duty of seeing a summary of the ads that you had just ten minutes prior witnessed, in the off chance, however nice that would have been, if you forgot. But you did it, you made it to the movie. The thing that you actually paid for! Hurrah! Thats when someone takes out their cellphone and shamelessly live streams the entire film. Youd think that would be a faux pas, but when you think about it, theres a spark of brilliance. Those watching at home skipped every ad, whereas you now have the bright glow of their cellphone in your face. Enjoy!
As usual. I had a great time at this theatre. The seating was very comfortable. The sound and picture quality was also top notch. The snack bar had a great selection of treats. Well worth waiting in line for. Cant wait to get back again.
This place slowly declined to one of thee dirtiest theatres in Philadelphia. There is trash everywhere, the seats are sticky/old, and the tickets are overpriced. About 10-12 years ago this place was amazing, it was always maintained clean, and it was my go to place. It sucks to review this so poorly but I would not recommend anyone to come here what so ever. I would recommend taking the extra drive to Woodhaven Theatre. I wish better management would happen along with a huge clean up. The architecture is beautiful and its location is perfect.
If I could give it a -5 stars i would. The mice get to watch the movies for free. Couldnt watch Terminator because I was watching mice run up n down the stairs. Smh
Philly keeps surprising me yet! I loved the theater itself, a lot larger and overall cleaner than what I was expecting when I first saw the building. My only complaints are that they should have had more people checking peoples tickets given that they knew how many people should have been arriving for Avengers Endgame and they should have had a box where people could have put their 3D glasses into for recycling. I hope to be able to give this theater another chance because I think they would be even better without the volume of people they had.
Great place, family oriented, but they never have cards for you to play the games,my kids hate that with a passion
Clean theatre. The movie I saw wasnt crowded. Overall good experience. Only downside is seats didnt recline.
Had a good time seeing Bad Boys For Life, the theatre was very well lit, popcorn tasted fresh so did the butter,. And the customer service was sweet!! Even got a discount for being a regal card member!
I saw imprackticle jokers and it was funny. The bathroom was so clean
Love it when with my friend to see a movie here the movie we wash it was a good one like it
The seats are miserable. Not comfortable at all, and my wifes seat was sticky. Seems like they crammed airline seats into a theater. They need the nice recliner seating that most theaters have opted for.Unrelated issue ... A homeless man was watching the movie behind us and he smelled horrible. I realize thats not the theaters fault, but considering the location, Im sure this wasnt an isolated incident.Only spent like 50 dollars for two tickets and movie snacks, so it isnt terribly expensive.
Never great never awful. Consistently okay. First time it was a mess with popcorn all over, there was 1 person working and a looong line until someone went to complain and suddenly another 2 workers showed up. This time there was this SPOTLIGHT above us, great movie and all in terrible chairs but the light completely ruined the ambiance. All the other lights dimmed except for the one right above me. Go figure.
Wonderful place nice people comfy seating good movies and good food they get your stuff ready fast
I used to avoid this theater and go to deptford to watch movies but just saw endgame there this past weekend and it was a great experience. Also their food/snack selection is robust and everyone seemed happy to be working there or seeing movies. I will continue to come back here!
Super high quality visuals & sound. There is parking and its an UBER quick pick-up. Simple design to the space. Its not some fancy wood & leather place with butlers, but its sleek, nice & clean. 10/10 would recommend.
Great accommodations, great snacks, great atmosphere! No complaints here!
It was the worst movie watching experience Ive had in a long time. The movie theater was archaic. The seats were dirty and disgusting! And the screen was super small I could have stayed home and watch the better movie on my small flat screen. And it had a smell not good.
It is not well kept. The concession stand was only open downstairs, making for longer lines. The workers seemed bothered when they took your order. Screen quality was poor, you could literally see the curve in the screen. There are better places with cheaper tickets.
Great movie theatre experience! Although the customer service could be a tad bit better the box office cashier seemed depressed.
I had to get out of the GHETTO just to come to this movie theater out South Philly. Havent been here in YEARS! Ill travel far just to go to a nice, ratchet free theater.
Love the parking, close to food places if your looking for quick food and a movie...
I think this place is pretty cool to see a movie.. I liked it and would recommended it to anyone.
The place is clean and the staff are pleasant.I only wish that the Large popcorn is refillable for the prize they are selling for
Theatre was very clean staff was fairly friendly. Manager gave us a bit of trouble with an our employee discounts which was disappointing but it was all resolved fairly. Only wish they had some later showings. All in all though a good theatre with cheaper prices than other locations
Plenty of screens here, enough for almost every current movie to be shown under the roof of one complex. We went in the afternoon when activity was light. The place was kept nice and tidy. The few employees that we encountered were friendly.Theres plenty of handicapped parking in the lot out front, with standard parking a block away under I-95. The theater complex is wheelchair accessible.
I mean it wasnt terrible but we went to see toy story 4 and the food prices are outrageous but overall, I had a good time with my friends and it was a good movie but seriously, lower the food prices a little bit. We ended up paying $90 FOR FOOD!
Yo no what.? this places is like a club on del ave in 92. party all the time. me and the kids whent to see Frozen too. what is these peoples problem with accting orderly. im gonna take my busines to the depford mall 12
Great popcorn! Bathrooms are clean and best of all, theres free parking!!!
You can get popcorn with flaming hot Cheetos topping on it!
If I could zero stars I would give triple zero ! I went to see avengers endgame and it was the dirtiest movie theater I’ve ever been in! It was trash, popcorn, etc everywhere as soon as you walk in the door! The auditorium itself had trash everywhere and I even saw a mouse! It was so disgusting that I checked for bed bugs before sitting and me and my boyfriend didn’t even sit back in the seats through an entire 3 hour movie. The bathroom was also nasty as you can imagine and it seems as if they don’t have staff there to clean the building at all! I would never return and frankly wish I could get refunded my money for paying for a movie that I had to be uncomfortable to watch and deal with a mouse near my feet. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING!!!!!!!
Love spending the day here. Not a lot of traffic during the day so popcorn might be slightly stale but I still get it every time.
Nice theater. Standard stadium seats. Clean theater and friendly employees.
Overall, really great place if u just wanna watch a movie. The concessions, however, are ridiculously expensive.
Me and a buddy of mine showed up 30 minutes early for our movie. I ordered some chicken tenders and he ordered whatever. He got his right away, but for some reason my order took almost the entire 30 minutes. At first I didnt mind waiting, but there were like 4 employees just walking in and out of the kitchen seemingly just talking, so 20 minutes into waiting, I asked for an update from one of the girls. She said oh shes putting them in the box now. I figure that means another minute or two but it took almost ten more minutes before the girl came out and called a number. I forgot my number so I looked down at the slip and in those several seconds, she started giving me an attitude, like waiting 30 minutes for chicken tenders is ok, but waiting 4 seconds is a huge offense. When we got to the theater itself (theater 8 if that makes any difference), we got to our seats and found out that the theater had not been cleaned, possibly the entire day. There was a box of nachos tossed on the floor literally right at our seats, so we moved to a different row, where there was slightly less trash but honestly still pretty dirty. The movie itself went off without a hitch. The picture and sound were fine. There was a crying baby but you cant really blame that on the theater.
The theater was packed with people who wanted to see the final showing of Emanuel. Emanuel is a movie that depicts the final moments of the Charleston Church massacre and the people they left behind. Very emotional! The manager, Steve Huang (sp?) could not be bothered to ensure the comfort of that many patrons and turned the air off. When confronted about the lack of space in the theater along with the air he was kind of lackadaisical. I will be in contact with the district.
Fantastic little theater! Usual prices for food and drink, dont serve alcoholic beverages just so you know. Ticket prices are a wee bit steep compared to other theaters, but the best part is that here, YOU STILL DONT HAVE TO PICK YOUR SEATS!!!!I almost stopped going to theaters before I found this place. I hate the idea of having to reserve tickets 2 years in advance to get good seats. Thank you so very much for keeping your seating first come, first served!
Been there twice now and both times it smelled funky. I think this theater needs new seats. But the movies were good. I know that has nothing to do with the theater but Im just trying to be positive here
Very awesome experience.Staff was under pressure but preformed very well.Keep up the good work.I will be coming back!!
Theater needs to be upgraded to recliner seats and stadium style seating arrangement. The bathrooms were clean but the floors in the theater were a little grungy. Overall, its a decent movie theater.
I rarely get to a film theater movie. But, when I do, I like the best of the best.
This theater is the bottom of the barrel with theaters. Make sure to set your standards low and you wont be so disappointed. The 2nd floor concession stand us never open and the first floor one takes forever if you order any food from the back (took 20 minutes for a chicken sandwich and fries). Im not sure if there is any supervisor in this place to watch over the high schoolers who are staffed in here. Everyone has an attitude and clearly dont want to be there. Giving it 3 stars because at least it plays movies, which is the main point.
Being an amputee, I didnt feel that the bathroom was not conducive to my wheelchair. And the only handicap stall was locked and I had to get a supervisor to accommodate my needs. It is a multimillion-dollar business and there is no excuse!
I have so much going on with work, kids and home life it’s tough to find time to see a movie. They run late showings which I need. The staff is a ‘bit’ short but it’s 10pm, what’s to be expected!?
The layout is very nice and knowing exactly which seat is yours makes it so much easier when you get into the theater.
Avengers endgame the greatest superhero movie i seen in my life
We saw the new Star Wars movie here, movie pretty good but the theatre was great. I wish I had those recliner chairs at home.
Nice and polite staff. Good but pricey snacks. The front of my theatre had no one seated...only seating in the balcony...strange.
Great Theatre To See A Movie.
Finally some time out. Really enjoyed my self. Although my small drink was almost 6$ the atmosphere was amazing.
Felt bait and switched kind of because phone said dr. Doolittle was playing and it wasnt So we ended up seeing spies in desguise
I really enjoyed when me and my class came in a trip to her, it was all great. (making long review) Are you a magician? Because whenever I look at you, everyone else disappears! Are you a magician? Because whenever I look at you, everyone else disappears! Are you a magician? Because whenever I look at you, everyone else disappears!
Theater is very convenient but the parking lot they need to have a patrol. When I was walking to my car I saw a derelict walking around checking doors to see was they open and taking peoples property. Call 911 but nobody ever came and I had to go.
